First time here. Private parking lot specifically for the brewery. Cool set up outdoors with lots of tables and Adirondack chairs (plastic so mind the thighs during warm weather) you're welcome. Indoors is spacious, modern, clean lines and gorgeous plants. Lots of seating indoors as well. Restroom very clean as is the rest of the space. 3 super friendly amigos behind the bar which boast two televisions for all your seasonal sports. All take out poured directly from taps and range in size from standard size beer cans, jumbo cans and growlers. Only down side: the sours are not sour at all- that was a little disappointing. (Hence loss of star- bf thought "they (tasting flight) all tasted the same." A 5 star review for a brewery visit takes into consideration more than just the beers. Secatogue put together all the elements to make, at least for this visit, a perfect experience. 1. Online reservations for an outdoor picnic table with a 2 hour time limit, reserved on a brief rest stop while working up a thirst, and making calorie deficits, hiking 6+ miles at Blydenberg on a beautiful fall day! 2. Table service, with smiles, energy, and knowledge 3. Ability to order flights, served in proper glassware 4. Food truck with perfect beer accompanying choices (Geena's Weenas) 5. Talking Heads blasting out of a small Marshall Amp radio from the back of said food truck 6. Kids laughing and playing, dogs lounging in the sunshine, people having a great afternoon 7. Grow up on Long Island? Used to hearing and reciting interesting names for different places (ya know, like Patchogue and Ronkonkoma)? Well then maybe you're like me in that when you hear/heard the name Secatogue Brewing, you probably started to say "where out east is that town?" What you really should be asking is how can I get there to have some of their solid brews. I've visited twice (two slightly different experiences) that encompassed an easy four stars with potential for more. Okay, let's drop the name game and let you know Secatogue may sound like a village you can visit on LI, but it's actually located in West Islip. Taking roots from the rich Native American history of the area brings us this name along with a quality location for craft beer. You know Secatogue put some time (and money) into their brew spot when it encompasses a whole building. With a food truck, tap room, seating inside and out (with great style I might add), and their own parking lot, Secatogue starts off on a superb aesthetic note. What didn't jive so nicely the first time I visited was their lack of...well, beer. It had only been a few days/weeks since their opening and so what was initially brewed had mostly come and gone leaving only a handful of beers to choose from on a board that looked like it could hold so much more. In a way, this could be viewed as a big-picture positive in that their beer went so quick because people were loving it. For me, it was a mild letdown in the moment. I did sample what they had (Floral Incandescent Porpoises, a DDH NEIPA was their only semi-standout), though nothing entirely blew me away. Then came round two, a few weeks later (on Father's Day to be exact). Here's where the suds situation started to right itself. A fresh tap list filled their board (well, 9/10 slots, 8 being their own). A wheat ale, a blonde, enough IPA varieties to cover your mouth in bitter goodness for a week, and an aptly named Irish stout (The Darkest One We Have). That last brew mentioned was probably one of the better dry stouts I've sampled and may have been my favorite of the afternoon (along with the super subtle yet fruity The Grasshopper Lies Heavy and the Imperial DDH NEIPA Lengthy Island). The only downer was Keep Off The Dunes, a pale wheat that did nothing for my tastebuds in any satisfaction. Even with this one clunker, the rest of the selection made up for that first round of minimal options. Overall, Secatogue Brewing is a formidable new brewery for this lengthy island (I do like to say that so don't anyone think I stole the saying!). With a mostly memorable beer selection along with a happening tap room and a nice feeling of local love, I'm positive Secatogue will only grow as a brewery worth visiting when beer hopping around the island. It will also do well in continuing to confuse beer-goers as to just where it is and how to say it. But hey, if you're not from Long Island, it's fun to watch. read more

Definitely one of the best breweries on Long Island 5/5 for beers - they have a wide range of beers and constantly rotate them. I love their IPA's. 5/5 for ambience - such a welcoming vibe. The employees are amazingly friendly. 5/5 for prices - they do 4/8/16 oz pours, have cans and do crawlers and growlers all for a very reasonable price. This is my favorite brewery on Long Island hands down! The staff and owners are really nice and the beers are great. The beer names are always cool and they have a lot of beers on tap. They collaborate with other breweries sometimes and you'll see those beers on the list as well. The beers can be ordered in different size options from a 4 ounce taste, 8 ounce and a 16oz. First time wandering into this place since it opened and glad I did. The barman, Tom, was a pleasant guy who asked what I usually liked and gave me a couple of samples. While the first, a Geiler Kolsch, was fine, he also gave me the Sunken Forest Lager. It's a Vienna Lager and was a bit "darker" with a bit more body, which I truly enjoyed! It also had a full but pleasing/warm afternote that was very nice. There were app 10-12 choices so you'll definitely find something you'll love. The vibe in the place is very relaxed, which I really dig. Some "Brewhouses" can be a bit pretentious...not here though! Music was good too... no " thumpy" nonsense. And the prices are very reasonable...another huge plus! Really nice place and certainly be back! Btw, only gave 4 stars due to this being a 1st visit...don't want to swell any one's heads yet....but I'll guarantee the 5th star is well in its way! read more

New Brew Review!! So, I finally got to check out Secatogue Brewing and let me tell you, it did not disappoint in any way! First off, the building is gorgeous and the outside area is filled with tons of plants which really makes looking at the road a little more appealing. The inside is equally as nice; super clean, with a simple but comfortable look. There's plenty of seating both inside and a couple of tables in the brew room. On a Sunday it was mostly families but if you've got a baby in diapers, keep in mind there aren't changing tables in the bathrooms. It got a little busy by the time we left and never once did I feel cramped. They have 10 beers on tap, mostly IPA's which we liked but there were also other styles available. The IPA's also ranged from DDH DIPA to fruity so naturally I had to get a flight and try as many as I could. I didn't have one beer that I did not like. We went on a Sunday so there was a food truck there serving up some delicious eats. I'm not sure how often they have food trucks but probably on the weekends. I was so happy I was able to make my way here and already told my friends we have to go back! Keep up the good work Secatogue! read more

So this past Saturday I was looking to see if I could find a brewery close to me that I haven't hit up yet, which I though was impossible, Turns out Google referred me to this gem that opened up this Spring. I have to say, the venue is very impressive, inside and out. All brand new, white and clean, with South Beach Miami vibes. I couldn't resist taking a picture against the palm tree wallpaper wall. The beer was delicious, my favorite being "King of the Sea" their summer ale. They also had a banging food truck outside that day (they rotate trucks and post the truck of the day on their insta, this day happened to be "Concrete Jungle"). They don't allow any outside food but do allow the food truck food inside, which was totally fine because Concrete Jungle brought it with the flavor. Can't wait to come back for more. I came here for the first time on a Friday. They had a bunch of seating outside and a taco truck parked right out front for the day. Inside was very cute and bigger than I expected. A few standing tables and a bunch with seats. Staff was awesome. So friendly and quick to get us cold beers. We tried a bunch on the menu throughout the night. I think my favorite was the cosmic pog. Definitely fruity for a beer but I liked it. The taco truck that was there was excellent. It really allowed us to stay longer since there was food which was a plus. They had games other people were playing at the table. Seems like a great spot for day or night. Very clean inside and they had merch off to the side also. As a local this is the best place in town. Whether I'm spending a Saturday evening there with friends, nursing a pint while I read a book, or sneaking in a quick half pint while I'm out picking up bread. Secatouge has never disappointed. The staff are a welcoming, young bunch. As far as their place on the grand stage of LI breweries, they've yet to land that signature beer. Every time I go there's something different. I've yet to have a bad beer. I've tried at least 20+ different types so far. I love this place. It keeps me from having to hit the bay shore scene, which is great, but busy. I'd recommend this place to pretty much anyone. I'm middle aged and have not been annoyed by the young folk, yet I'm not the old guy either. As of this post they are only a year old. In my opinion the sky is the limit. The craft beer industry on LI is competitive, to say the least. And Secatogue's showing promise early. read more

Since the 'negative ref's to social events' rather than reviews of this brewery STILL seem to be happening I want to reassure ALL that these guys are the friendliest of business owners! Since 1st Vegan food truck on LI was back @ Secatogue we made a return visit! Our waiter, Gabriel actually remembered not only our faces, but names also, 3 weeks later! It is also important to me that the clientele on this Sat. night was a varied group enjoying fine beers and good food that's also good for you. That THIS place actually welcomes food trucks offering something besides burgers & fries is very important to me. It's amazing how great taste can happen so easily in Vegan food. Once again I'd ask anyone reading these reviews to note they are either one star (Yelp won't let you post w'out a star) and VERY negative w'out specifics OR the reviews are glowing about the beer, the cleanliness, the staff, the food trucks, and just what a nice time was had by ALL. Love this place. Cute, great service and yummy beers. Today we got a fruited blonde and it was so delicious. Effervescent, lovely fruited smell as you go to take a sip. Great flavor. Hubby got a Double IPA and that was great and refreshing too. My favorite of theirs is their Apple Cider Donut Ale that we get around the winter holidays. Love coming to visit this place. Great new brewery. I've been here a few times and have gone out of my way to come here and will do so again. They have a lot of different beers, and styles, on tap and usually with some of the newer breweries you'll get a bad beer or two mixed in...not here though, I've tried them all here and they have all been great. They had a great example of a Belgian style, which was just right and not overly sweet as some tend to be. They also some weird beer over the summer made with nopales or something which was fantastic. Complex. Subtracting a point for allowing dogs in as my autistic son Brian, who is afraid of dogs, had to wait inside the car. Adding a point back because of great beers. Cheers! read more

Sometimes food trucks showing up at breweries can be hit or miss but there is ALWAYS a truck at Secatogue. If you can't make it there I recommend keeping an eye out at your local bev distributor... Had been a regular for a while, but since COVID needed to emphasize how amazing this place is. The people that work here are amazing, friendly, and patient. There's never a rush to order, and they explain any beers you may not know or understand the description. All of their beers are outstanding, and they have a large variety so you can find a style that works for you. Their COVID precautions are above any place I've seen. It's the only place I feel safe visiting during this time, and can't go wrong visiting with a beer menu of variety that add new beers often, and a rotating food truck every time I visit! read more
