We ended up getting buffalo chicken dip and artichoke dip for appetizers and they were good. For my entree, I got the blackened redfish with broccolini. The service was good, but a bit slow. We were seated on the outdoor covered patio and the weather was perfect. The inside dining room was lively and. They had a lounge that would be perfect for watching games. Loved the vibe of the restaurant! Slightly dimmed warm lighting so the ambience was fantastic. Great view of all the sports games on at the time but also a great environment to catch up with friends. Very interesting place, but not what I was expecting. They are a high end sports bar with good food. For some reason I was thinking more of a fine dining establishment. Excellent memorabilia on display covering Steve Spurrier's long career. The selection is focused with something for most people. Appetizers were very nice. I quickly decided on the Tailgate chili and a small Caesar salad. My husband had the Tomahawk Pork chop with a side of French fries and my daughter had the Spurrier's House Salad. My chili is honestly the best I've ever had! The short rib was so tender and full of so much flavor. Definitely the perfect addition to the chili and boy did it take it up a notch! It was delicious. I just wanted to keep eating even though I was very full. But I couldn't say no to my husband when he offered me a piece of his pork chop. The very first thing I tasted was the maple. It really gave it such a sweet kick to it! Not too overpowering. It was seasoned to perfection. That's the honest truth. Oh and let me go back to our appetizer. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken dip with blue corn tortilla chips. Another hit!!! W O W! Finger licking good! That's for sure. i would definitely order this appetizer again. It's so addicting. You cannot stop digging into it. Last but definitely not least was my carrot cake. One of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. Wife had the shrimp and cheese grits filled with flavor and shrimp and sausage. Very tasty and I went with their signature dish the Tomahawk Pork Chop. Ordered a omelette , which you tell them your table number and they bring to you. The omelette was much like the fries Penny severed in the big bang theory , I'll let you know when I get it. Waiter "talked" to them multiple times, still never saw it. Wife never got hers either. Gratuity is a funny thing , was automatically 20% attached to self serve buffet & self serve bloody Mary's, not sure what the waiter actually does, as it's a self serve buffet. Spurrier's is what one would expect at its price point, and there are many food photos and comments by others, so I won't add a lot to that. I will say, it is my goto place for a well crafted Caesar salad. To me, it's one of the best if not the best Caesar salads in town. For me, the chicken wings are sublime. Amongst the best I've ever had. They are not the typical sports bar wings in either size or price, because Spurrier's isn't sports bar. It's a sport themed, higher-end restaurant. In my opinion, the wings are totally worth it. The eight wings served at Spurrier's are a hefty size, perhaps equating in meat volume to many other places 10 or 12 wing servings. The sauce selection is limited to three, but even if they had dozens, for me, the Spurrier's house made Louisiana sauce is the perfect mix of heat and tang. I get it every time. I've been to Spurrier's several times, and my favorite way to experience it is when Celebration Pointe has a free concert. Celebration has free concerts regularly, and Spurrier's will often open their outdoor bar window, allowing procurement of adult beverages to be enjoyed during the show, since purchased open containers are allowed outside at Celebration Pointe. After the show, I'll often go inside and sit at the bar for a Caesar salad, wings, or both, along with a nightcap to finish the evening. I've been to Spurrier's for drinks and their famous bread pudding which is to die for! Seriously if you have never had it you are missing out! This post however is dedicated to my recent brunch experience. I went to brunch to catch up with a friend. To start off I ordered Jerry's seasonal sangria which was light and refreshing, and my friend ordered the tropical margarita which she liked as well. They also have $20 bottomless mimosas for 2 hours. For starters, we had the Nutella muffins with mixed berry butter which was delicious, it comes with two big muffins! Now on to the entrees, I had the chicken and wuerffels which was amazing and a hefty portion. My friend had the banana's foster french toast which is basically the bread pudding I mentioned above but in french toast form...talk about dessert for brunch! lol, Overall, the drinks and food were delicious and the service was great. This is just a follow up to my last review. I'm not sure what changed, or why, but it was very disappointing. We came up last year for the LSU game and had brunch here for the first time, absolutely loved it, had a fantastic time. Being season ticket holders, we were looking forward to our first trip up this season and stop into spurrier of course, maybe a new tradition. Made reservations a few days ahead, woke up, got ready, we already knew what we were getting from looking on the website. We show up, everything is wonderful, friendly. We get sat and given menus and it's the dinner menu/ coaches menu. I asked if there was brunch because the website says it's every sat. And Sunday, and we had it on Saturday last game day. We were told no, home game they only serve the coaches menu. Meanwhile the tv next to me and the website are telling me it's every Saturday. Very confusing. A couple sat next to us and expressed the same concern. Not many people want 35$ short rib risotto or a filet with fully loaded potato at 11:30 in the morning, especially on game day. We ordered some appetizers, as did the couple next to us. Food was good, nothing wrong there, just a let down as far as expectations and not being informed. While we were leaving we saw a few plates of fried chicken going out and on tables, which is on the brunch menu. Very confusing. Just very confused at this decision and to not advertise it. We stopped by Spurrier's to get a bite before our movie. Since we were on a tight schedule, we sat at the bar and ordered right away. However, I guess our order wasn't properly entered into the computer. So, about half an hour later it became apparent that a mistake had happened and our order wasn't ready. Yikes! Our movie was beginning in like 20 minutes. So, the manager (Paul) stepped in and took control of the situation. First, he assured us that our food would be immediately prepared, and then he had a bowl of yummy cheese rolls delivered to us. It's something we never would've ordered, but I gotta say I'm a fan now! Then our food came out about ten minutes later. Both dishes were perfect. The chicken Marsala was tender and juicy with a slightly crispy grilled exterior. Piled on top of real mashed potatoes, it's the perfect comfort food. Same with the eggplant rollatini. Hot, fresh, and tasty! Knowing we were on a time crunch, Paul brought over our check and a couple of to-go boxes for any leftovers. He also let us know that he comped our meals! Look, mistakes happen no matter where you go. The difference is how they handle it. And this was a textbook case of making an unfortunate situation right. We didn't ask for anything, but we absolutely appreciated it. And we made it to our movie just as the last trailer was ending! We've been going to Spurrier's on a semi-regular basis since it opened. After last night, we will be going even more frequently. Coach needs to give Paul a trophy or something LOL! read more

I'm a menu stalker before I go anywhere and I had high hopes but really everything just fell flat. We made a reservation online not knowing apparently the rooftop is part of visors and not the same menu so that was a bit annoying but luckily they were able to accommodate. We were seated promptly and while the hostess walks with menus they don't provide them to you and the server does when they first come to introduce themselves. We ordered our appetizers and a round of cocktails and then once we got one first app he came back to check on us and we placed our meal order... after that we were the table stuck in the corner. We sat with empty drinks and plates on our table for a good moment before we were able to order more and then maybe there were a difference in menus but the old fashioned online advised it was made with fig jam but what we got was definitely not. I got the lamb chops and they were definitely good but cooked medium well to my medium rare request but luckily with lamb the fat content is forgiving to overcooking. Overall for the price we paid the experience was lackluster and mediocre. I will not be back. read more

I can't believe we didn't come here sooner! This restaurant had been on our list for quite some time and we recently came for my husbands birthday. Made reservations for a Friday night and they got us right in, even though the place was busy. We were there for a long time, but we had a party of 6 so that is understandable. The food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My husband's pork chop was to die for and everyone's food was cooked perfectly. I had the veggie burger on a gluten free bun and the veggie burger itself was BBQ seasoned and sauced and delicious. The gluten free cheese bread appetizer was also a favorite. We had the pleasure of dining at Spurriers our first trip to Gville back in August. We have now come to Spurriers EVERY trip since. 10+ times. It's one of the best restaurants we have ever been to, and we have dined at 5star restaurants all across the US, and Europe. Spurriers is super clean, the staff is ridiculously helpful and kind, (in our family we have food allergies, special diets, we are admittedly a tough bunch bc we have to modify nearly everything- but every server - and we've had a bunch- has gone above and beyond accommodating us, and always with a smile. Even during brunch hours!!). Last but not least The food is superb, everything is fresh and tastes homemade, the vibe is lovely too. I just can't say enough about the place. What an absolute disappointment. We had a 715 reservation and while I understand that the Gators were in the semi finals we were told they were running "a little behind." 30 minutes later I was told "another 20 minutes." 25 minutes later the hostess let slip to my wife that the table was given away. 90, NINETY, 9-0 MINUTES AFTER OUR RESERVATION TIME I got the text that our table was ready. Piss poor planning by the restaurant and an absolute disgrace. Given my respect and admiration for Coach Spurrier it pains me to say that I do not recommend anyone put themselves thru this level of pain or disrespect. Less than 1 star. read more

The boys at the table enjoyed their Pig Skin Old Fashioneds (complete with bacon), while we ladies enjoyed our cocktails: Raspberry Lemon Drop martini for my sister-in-law, while I had the Guava Lava (good, but a bit too sweet for me) and the Spicy Succulent (hold the agave, so it was tart, but good). For food we enjoyed a variety of dishes: -Cheesy Rolls: simple but good, as the name suggests (unsure why one order was $5 and the other was $6) -Tailgate Chili: pretty good, though there was something in it (or not in it) so that I liked it but didn't love it -Spurrier's Classic Burger: good quality meat, cooked properly, but again, for me, there was something missing to make it wow -Bolognese: Brother said he liked it a lot; It looked and smelled good -Tomahawk Pork Chop: definitely a bit more pricey at $41, but I think it was the best dish on the table. I usually don't order pork because I think it will be dry or lacking in flavor and this was neither! So glad that Jim G. ordered this one. Wish I took more bites, lol! We were too full for dessert, though they sounded good. Jim G. threatened to return right at closing to order some of the cookies! He loves to have his second dinner, lol! The parking area (and parking structure) was crazy on a Friday night, so plan accordingly and give yourself some extra time. Wow - this place is the real deal. I enjoyed every bit of the OBC memorabilia but also the food. This restaurant has some seriously good eats. It was my second time trying to eat here, the first time they were closed for a private event, but I'm glad I was persistent. I opted to try every bit of the menu - started out with a Lychee martini (half price martini Tuesday), a bowl of their chili, an entree salad with chicken, and their bread pudding. We had the filet, which was done perfectly, corn raviolis (YUM) with roasted chicken that was cooked just right, miso Brussels sprouts (could have been cooked a bit before roasting but they are so good even though a bit too crunchy), and a delicious side salad. Graduation dinner at Spurrier's Gridiron Grille was a great way to top off a fabulous weekend in Gainesville. The service and ambiance were terrific. Drinks and food were also really great. I loved my Lemon Artichoke Chicken. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was so flavorful. I'm deducting one star due to the fact that my husband's Ribeye was ordered medium and came out rare. He sent it back and it came out well done. He ultimately didn't eat, as everyone else had finished their meals (and it was late at this point). Drive by this place all the time on our travels but it is usually a Monday and they are closed. But today is Sunday! Huge place. Well decorated and lots of Spurrier memorabilia all over the place and tvs are showing highlights. Lots of things sound good on the menu. We started with the hot wings. Pretty tasty. Dip the jalapeños in the honey to add some heat. Next I had the burger. It was pretty good. A tad undercooked but good flavor. A messy burger with the egg on it. Deb had the burrata salad.
