Tijuana Cesar Salad $11 add Shrimp $6 (4/5 stars)
    Tiffany C.

Oh man, that was the best queso blanco I have had in a long time! Perfect consistency and creaminess. Flavor beyond that of just melted cheese and a jalapeño. Chips were nice and salty, not too thick, just thin enough. The shrimp Street Tacos and Tijuana Cesar were both very good. The food really was the best part of our dining experience. Service was just okay, but I believe that was due to a poor management decision and not for his lack of trying. Our server had tables in every corner of the restaurant and was on the move constantly. Usually I don't give a second thought at a restaurant to (non-alcoholic) drinks because it is so mundane, everyone usually carries the basics. But they only carry unsweetened tea (this is the south right?) and had no other options that were non-alcoholic and not soda, not even lemonade? Okay, water it is I guess. But then the water was just awful, it tasted mildewy. Overall, the food was so good we will be back but for takeout, so we can enjoy filtered water at home lol. (Note to Mgmt: Please bring back the sweet tea?! Or offer lemonade?)

While in town for homecoming weekend, we stopped by for lunch. We arrived at 12:45 after the parade with a reservation and were seated right away. To my surprise, the menu was extremely shortened and only offered 4-5 options for game day weekend. This was a disappointment but understandable. My original pick wasn't on the menu so I settled for the chicken quesadilla and it was delicious. My partner had the shrimp burrito. Our waitress was great. Cute interior and atmosphere.

OK we were about to go to Canes when the line was out the door. So we decided to try the Cantina for lunch today. What a happy accident. We weren't even planning to eat lunch, so we got a set of three chicken street tacos and the Mexican trifecta, which is basically guacamole, queso, salsa, and chips. We just wanted to get this place a try. Some of my favorite Taquerias in town are Sublime and 365. I have to say though this place gives them a run for their money. Definitely more upscale with a really huge bar and ample outside seating. The music is on the loud side so if you wanted a quiet, romantic getaway, this is not it. If you wanted a happening bar to watch some sports on no less than eight TV sets, than this is your place. Super fun. One downside would be parking. As it's the right across from campus obviously parking isn't the greatest. But a great place to walk to for a really delicious lunch. Well what we got would probably be considered an appetizer and tacos for one, there's more than enough food for two people. I'm definitely going to be coming back to try some of the specialties and maybe even order a margarita or two.

We always stop in Gainesville on our way back home from a family vacation each summer. This place is one of the best experiences we have had at a restaurant here. I love the open concept and layout of the restaurant. It's not cramped and claustrophobic like alot of other options in the area. They had a great food and beverage selection. The music and vibes made it an even better dinner experience. Our waitress was so nice! She accommodated our three year old's needs and preferences even though they didn't have a kids menu. I forget her name, I think it started with an "M" , like "Mika, or Mila." We had the Mexican trio as an app. The queso and salsa were so delicious! Then for our entree we split the steak fajitas and my daughter was able to get a "taco bowl" with rice beans and chicken. We will definitely stop here again next year!

Great spot to grab drinks after a Gators basketball or football game. Outdoor bar seating and spacious indoor seating. Surprisingly it's a bit hard to find a bar to duck into after a Gators game so we found this place. We ordered drinks which was cheap (2 gin and tonic for $22) and chips and queso and gauc .

When I saw this place being built while up in gnv on weekends, I was expecting another party spot with mediocre food. Thankfully I was quite wrong. The spot is beautiful and definitely has great vibes, but the food is excellent too. The fajitas were very good. Service was good, but not great. Looking to come back!

The view is unmatched with University of Florida directly across the street the music is such a vibe, the scenery and decor gives a social atmosphere both day and night... Catina Anejo is the spot to come for a delicious bite and social sip! Don't forget to ask for the best bar tender Bri they have amazing fast service!

Apple Maps struggled to provided proper directions to parking and it might be because the area is under construction so just give yourself time to find Loosey's especially if going for dinner. It sure is worth the effort though, especially if you get Matthew as your server. He is full of wit and great local knowledge. He charmed our table from our first encounter. Loosey's has to be a local favorite because the quality and freshness of the food is outstanding. Matthew is a local treasure and made our experience there so memorable and fun. We all remarked that it must be so electric there when live music is on stage or it's a Gator game day. We started with the loaded potato skins. There were 5 large pieces that were covered with toppings and delivered pipping hot. I could easily order that as a meal next time I'm in town. Their house ranch dipping sauce that is drizzled on top was delicious. Several in our group ordered the Chic-fil Loosey's, which is a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, but I wasn't able to grab a photo as they were so eager to get started eating it. The portion of chicken breast was extremely large and the batter was perfectly crispy. Both diners exclaimed it was one of their all- time favorite chicken sandwiches they had ever eaten. Another diner took advantage of their wing special and exclaimed the Buffalo Garlic sauce was fantastic and she paired them with their ranch as well. She loved their added touch of the small paper basket topping the plate of wings for the bones. I had the Classic Beef Burger and it was cooked perfectly. There was a nice peppery flavor to the grill of the burger and the patty size was more than I expected. Especially for the price. I was so happy we found Loosey's. It was really good food. I encourage you to look past the construction mess and the "old wooden bar" stereotypes and trust me when o say, they take great pride on preparing high quality food.

Beautiful day so we sat outside in a lovely patio area. Great beer menu with draughts imported or domestic as well as a full bar. The menu was pretty much standard bar fare I had fish and chips and my wife had Mac and cheese. The fries on my plate were covered in salt. I tried to shake it off and wound up with a layer of salt on my plate. Most restaurant food is too salty for me as I cook at home low salt but this was crazy. I decided to try the Mac and cheese. It also had a cap of salt on it. I tried to dig to the bottom of the crock thinking that wouldn't be salty but I was wrong. The dish was prepared with salt throughout. Time to go and I did complain. The waitress said she hears that a lot and she offered to replace our meal to go but we didn't take her up on that offer. The fish was great! And we loved the vibe of the restaurant inside and out. I would go back again but knowing that I would order SALT FREE !!

The atmosphere is just the best and I always have a good time! Seating is first come, first serve or seat yourself situation. So if there is a big game, you should get there a couple hours early to ensure you get a seat. Otherwise you will be wondering the restaurant trying to pounce on an open seat the second you see one. We actually arrived 2.5 hours before the game even started and almost all the seats were taken already. While this can be a little chaotic, it really adds to the experience of eating here on a game day! It was absolutely PACKED for the national championship, people were even bringing chairs from home to sit outside. We ended up sitting at a small outdoor bar. Our bartender or server, Maddie, was excellent. She made sure we were satisfied the whole time and did a great job checking in on us. She was also super friendly and great to talk to! Considering how busy it was, the food didn't take too long to come out. When it is super busy, you can order food at the bar (inside or outside one) and don't need to have a table to receive service. The staff did a great job keeping up with everything and making sure things were running as efficiently as possible. For the food, the five of us started with an order of mozzarella sticks and their famous buffalo chicken dip. The mozzarella sticks are a new menu item and feature golden-fried mozzarella sticks, crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside, served with ranch marinara. These were really, really good, with a nice cheese pull and the perfect amount of breading. I was quite surprised with how tasty these were! The Buffalo chicken dip consists of pulled chicken mixed with buffalo wing sauce, melted cheddar, pepper jack, and cream cheese, finished with ranch and an extra kick of hot sauce, served with tortilla chips, celery, and carrots. This was AMAZING and a perfect starter for the table to share. Served in a cast iron skillet, the portion is huge and the dip is super flavorful and creamy. There weren't enough chips served with the dip for all of us, but our server was happy to give us a complimentary tray of chips. I can easily see why this is a favorite and I will definitely be ordering this next time I come here! I also got a side Caesar salad and thought that was great as well. It was a nice portion, with fresh romaine, shredded Parmesan cheese, croutons, and capers. We ordered our entrees around kickoff, I ended up getting the Founder's Club Sandwich. The Founder's Club included a grilled chicken breast topped crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, served on toasted sourdough bread, with a side of swamp sauce. All the entrees come with fries, unless you want to upgrade to another side or request not to have them. I really enjoyed this sandwich. The chicken had a nice char to it and was surprisingly juicy. I appreciated the sourdough bread over a regular bun as well. The subtleness of the provolone cheese and the fresh tomato were great too! Overall, we had an awesome time watching the CFB national championship at The Swamp. The atmosphere and vibes are unmatched. Service was awesome and the workers there are so on top of things. Food hit the spot and the Buffalo chicken dip was our favorite. Can't wait to come back!!
