Sports bar??? Should've taken the last review seriously. Had a reservation and was all set to watch the FINAL FOUR game with NC State in it. Pretty big deal since NC State was a big long shot. The whole country is going nuts over this game and we made reservations and had a great seat in front of the tv. After watching the TV in front of us that was on Cheddar News, while having a drink and appetizers, asked our server if she could turn the game on. Her response was "I'll try". She said the bartender would get to it, she's kind of busy. So a couple minutes til tip-off and the bartender came over and tried to get the tv to work and kept getting a "no signal" message. She gave up and went to the bar never even acknowledging us. Soooo this is supposed to be a sports bar. Zero effort to make sure the biggest game of the year is on for the patrons. Very disappointing. Food and drinks here are really good. If they could only get their shit together on the sports stuff, this would be an awesome place. Sad. read more

Best spot for wings and burgers! Their Buffalo Wings were fried to perfection, tender & juicy. Seriously the best I've ever had! And they know how to cook the perfect medium rare burger...mouthwatering and juicy! I've tried both the Spunky Burger and the Spicy Bacon Burger. You can't go wrong with either choice! Not to sound like a broken record, but their fries are to die for! The right amount of crispness and seasoning. I would recommend take-out over delivery. The quality is much better when you call Spunkys directly vs using a 3rd party delivery service. read more

Greasy, greasy, greasy to sum it up. Yes, we knew it was pub food but our food was dripping with oil. The first thing that hits you as you walk in the door is the smell of cooking oil as it permeates everything. We had the fried mushroom appetizer with horseradish sauce. The sauce was better than the shrooms. The hubs insisted on ordering lobster bisque . It was tasted like some kind of reconstituted powder or from a bag. The taste of onion was so strong it was more reminiscent of a New England Clam chowder base with added pieces of lobster.. I'll cut them some slack as it's not a seafood place nor do they claim that it's made fresh in-house. The hubs had a cheeseburger made with fresh beef but lacked seasoning with smashed red ( insipid) boiled potatoes. I had a lackluster patty melt that tasted like the greasy grill it was fried on. No salt but at the onions were cooked and The meat was so overcooked that it looked like a frozen patty. I can't say for sure, but it did not taste like fresh beef. Underwhelming but pretty reasonably priced. I would not mind paying more for a better meal. I think a little deep cleaning and better training for the fry cook and they would be much off. The servers were courteous I don't think we will be back unless they improve. read more

The wings and steak and the ribs were the best thing I've ever had. And the service is great it just takes a while to get used to them.

Plain bar food done well. Lots of regulars and it's busy even on early weeknights. So far, I've enjoyed fish and chips, chicken salad sandwich, and various burgers. Salad is so often an afterthought but their salads are done quite well. I'll be a regular soon enough! read more

We have been going to spunky for years last night was horrible the waitress Courtney was rude and would not take orders or do refills they went and served other customers that came way after we arrived the spunky burger I love was burnt to a crisp should have left when I seen the B rating from the health department. Said that it's going down hill was a nice restaurant. But the new servers are rude and ignore you. read more

Saw this place in Yelp as a local favorite so decided to give it a try cause it was close after a long day of driving. It's a small place but everyone very friendly. We had the mild wings, nachos, and a large house salad. The portion size was good. Everything was good and the prices were exceptionally reasonable. The beer was also a great price. This restaurant only has a higiene rating of 83%. You should see their kitchen, especially the floor. Disgusting! Restrooms by the kitchen. Food looks ok but definitely not tasty. Also not a place for children after 7:30pm. read more

Went here to watch NCAA Elite 8 game. Called ahead to get a reservation and make sure we had a table near a TV and the games would be on. Had to ask 3 or 4 times to get the games on and one employee was snippy about it. Food and wait staff were fine, but they hurried us out when we planned on watching the entire NC State game. Wouldn't recommend as a place to watch a game. read more

Great neighborhood Pub (Irish style) with cold beer great food and friendly service. I've had the chopped steak and cheese steak and fish and chips and reuben and all were great! Prices are great!
