Hey stay 6ft back so I can order my fish & chips
Frank B.

SPUDS FISH & CHIPS on Green Lake is an institution for North Seattle Locals... Nothing more satisfying than a double fish & chips with cup of Chowda after a walk around Green Lake. First of all what a lunch time view you'll have while dining. However it's not the view it's the decades of quality fish deep fried fish served to perfection that keeps me dining. Every meal has tasted the same since I first stated dining here back in the 80's as a young punk swimming at the lake all summer long... The variety, quality and serving size is epic . Prawns , Claims & Fish on top of a mountain of some of the freshest Idaho potatos aka French Fries accompanying my order. Kudos to management for always having exceptional staff to handle my orders, it does not go unnoticed. Well I'm not sure I can elaborate anymore about how sensational Spuds Fish & Chips on Green Lake has been... So you're gonna have to stop by and grab a bite!

Double fish and chips, salts, vinegars, tarter and ketchup

Sunny walk down to check out SPUD while visiting family. Great guys at the counter and brought our LARGE fish and chips out to the table with salts, and vinegars (loved the garlic) Tarter was spot on. Great patio to people watch. They even offered to wrap our leftovers and gave us a bag for the walk home. Thanks guys-We'll be back

Spuds hit the spot when we needed lunch break after spending some time walking around Green Lake. What really stood out was the excellent customer service. Not only was the employee taking our order very friendly, but he explained portion sizes and made suggestions. He followed us outside offering condiments and then brought out all of the things we requested! The pieces of fish are very big, but they are kind of flat, which allows them to be nicely crisp, but have a bit less of a fleshy texture. I found it satisfying for an afternoon snack, despite not being exceptional. Adding garlic malt vinegar and Johnny's seasoning salt leveled up the satisfaction. The fries were more on the limp side, and while not my favorite, were again, satisfying. I also enjoyed being able to sit outside and look at the lake. While I would suggest other options for a more elevated Green Lake experience, I highly recommend Spuds for anyone looking for a quick satisfying bite in the sun and breeze.

Crunchy Fish and Chips

Came here for fish and chips with the family on a sunny and cool day. They were tasty, served hot and full of crunch. I like that service was able to get condiments available on hand. Location is easily accessible from around the lake after quite some walking. When craving for fish and chips I would come to Spud!

The staff are the best ~ so friendly and smiley. Their fish and chips are top tier but I mainly became a regular for the staff. The fish is always is a sizeable (if a piece is too small, they give another small) and I'm always well-satiated after single w/chips. And I love that they allow dogs on the patio And almost everything they use is compostable. Ambience is eco-fun.

fish and chips! (1 piece) such a big piece btw

yes so fire! a little walk away from the bus stop, but spud's is worth it forsure. the crispiest, yet juiciest fish. the fish portion was HUGE and not too fishy, and the chips (fries) are to die for. definitely try the seasonings and dressings they provide too, you wont be let down. the tartar sauce is light and creamy and bright. service was 5/5! super friendly and helpful, as it was our first time. theres indoor and outdoor seating across from a huge park, which allowed us to people watch. overall, super clean place with super clean food. not greasy at all, and in fact felt really clean to eat. one of my favorite fish and chips spot in seattle & ill be back!

I consistently have great service here. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The fish and chips are delicious, and I always get the vanilla milkshake! The space is clean and overlooks Green Lake, making it a great spot to dine in if you want to enjoy your meal fresh

The food here was great. I really like the fish. The fries was also okay a bit greasy. They had nice lemons to complement the fish.

The salmon teriyaki bowl was excellent, as was the crab roll. My only complaint was that the whole meal was very expensive for what we ordered. Two mains and two drinks ended up around $88.71 with tip, which felt quite steep for the portions. Overall very much recommended!

The wait is worth it though since this place has some of the best seafood in Seattle! Despite the seafood focused menu, my favorite thing is one of the non-seafood items, the smash burger. The patty is fatty and juicy with a delicious beefy flavor due to the heavy sear. The caramelized onions and melty cheese add a creaminess and depth of flavor, and it's all wrapped in a super pillowy soft bun. Order two of these with the freshly fried crispy salt and pepper fries and you're gonna have a good time. For the seafood options, my favorite things are the shrimp toast and the rockfish banh mi. The shrimp toast has a bunch of delicious springy shrimp paste fried together with crispy bread, topped with a fresh slaw and creamy chili oil mayo. The rockfish banh mi is more veggie forward than your traditional Vietnamese banh mi, but the veggies are well seasoned and are super fresh, which is nice if you're getting some of the fried appetizers. The rockfish on top is a rockfish patty that has the texture in between a meatball and a fish cake, and is light in flavor but goes well with all the veggies.

Everything was really good and there was a nice variety of things to order. We sat outside on the dock and the seating was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. Definitely recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice because the view really makes it worth it.

They told us they had a party coming in at 6 so we needed to leave by then. No one kicked us out, but we left on our own at 10 after 6. Unless they were using the middle area our table was in for the large party, they were seating people around us at smaller tables. Overall service was pretty quick. Server was pleasant and attentive. We had to ask for the happy hour menu in the dining area. Server didn't automatically offer it so was a little surprised. I don't think they have a bar so how else are you supposed get happy hour prices?! Got the house white wine and the chicken tenders. The chicken came with a side of ranch and mustard as sauces as well as some coleslaw. It's a fish place so can't be that upset on chicken taste, but some bites were on the meatier end than others, which weren't ideal. Based on that alone not impressed. Can't speak to anything else unfortunately. Varied menu (though pricey). Self pay parking lot.

My two rellies split a salad, and the 5 piece fish & chips ($30 | not pictured). First of all, canned Ivars chowder is one of the best out there. However, nothing beats the real deal made fresh. The soup was silky, and packed w/ clams & bacon. Secondarily, the lettuce in the salad was really fresh. It stood up well to the dressing, that also had a lot of bacon. Thirdly, the prawns on the skewer were moist and nicely seasoned. Most seafood places overcook their seafood. Lastly, the fish & chips were very good. The kitchen split the dish, and each of my rellies looked like they had a full portion. I had one piece of fish and it was fresh. The batter was nicely seasoned and not too heavy. Regarding the ambiance, its spacious in here. You can get a great view of the water at the outdoor tables or a window seat. There are wood carvings of fish hanging from the high ceiling. Paul was a very good waiter. He was knowledgable about the menu and friendly. Nonetheless, we waited for a long time after the first course. I didn't see other tables get their food before ours. There was just too long of a wait for the entrees. All in all, a very positive experience. I would def return, or go to other Ivar's locations in Seattle.

Started with one of their fabulous Bloody Mary for me and beer for him. I ordered the salmon BLT and he had fish and chips. My salmon was cooked perfectly and served on a very soft bun. Two problems though. I am apparently in the minority that I think bacon is raw if not crispy so ended up putting it aside. Second issue was the "L" portion was a large piece of iceberg core. Not really lettuce, guys..... So I basically had a salmon sandwich with a slice of tomato and some flavorful tartar sauce. The fish and chips were also cooked perfectly and were inhaled. If I come back I would just grab food from the take out side and sit on the dock.
