I was looking for some good gluten free bread, and found it! I bought a sourdough loaf and a regular loaf. The texture of both loaves were really great..I will be back to try some other things. The meals looked really yummy with healthy ingredients. Prices seemed very reasonable. The staff was helpful and the store was attractive and clean. I had a great experience with this restaurant!! The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was warm and serene. The value for the portion size was reasonable. They had plenty of outdoor seating, but it felt like 101°F outside, so I ate inside instead I had the Grilled Chicken & Bacon Ranch sandwich, a custom salad and a canned boba. The sandwich was AMAZING...the flavor had depth and variety with a perfect balance of condiments. To me it was the star of the show!! The salad bar had a very nice selection of ingredients. The canned boba was...well...it was exactly what one might expect from a canned drink. To me it was okay. I was a little surprised to find such a pleasant cafe nestled in an office building, but I'm glad that I did!! read more

A great concept for the surrounding businesses for a quick & convenient meal, yet not so great on the food & service. All types of Beverages, Sandwiches, Salad Bar, Hot Entrees, Chips, Cookies & Candy under one roof. The service is slow & pretty much terrible, as once you pay for your food, it's a wrap. Additiionally, while the hot food was cold & the Salad Bar items were just OK. The prices work, yet the maintainability of the food freshness missed the mark. Terrible customer service. I ordered my meal before 15 other people who got their orders first. They kept taking orders before they filled the ones they already had. I waited 20 minutes for my sandwich. They seemed to be filling orders out of the order they were taken without bothering to tell people what was happening. Just terrible read more

TL;DR: I won't be back for another year or two. The people who run and work at Sprout came to my building and peronally promoted their place by bowing prettily, handing me a menu and a map to their place, and a whole lot of smiling in full makeup and kimonos. I thought that was charming and took them up on their offer a few days later. I don't know if they're under new management, or something, but it's an amteurish operation. I asked for a cheesesteak with no cheese (I got issues, okay?), but also none of the hoagie stuff (lettuce, tomato, *mayonnaise* -- where are you people from?! Have you not been to South Street? Have you not lived in Philly for six years like a normal person? --but I digress). Later I saw the sandwich person making what looked like a good amount of well done steak, and then promptly slapped cheese on it and called it done. I said, Nuh, Bruh: no cheese (not in those words). After just repeating "Steak and cheese" a few times, she called to the woman at the counter, who ignored her because she was busy dealing with a line of seven people. I could see my part of the receipt clearly list what I wanted. So the woman began again. But they'd run out of the first ingredient listed for the sandwich, "white bread", during lunch time. I okayed the wheat, and proceeded to watch a spectacle that took exactly one minute: meat that had not been there a second ago, magically appeared (pale but cooked?), onto a wheat sub, which was then stuffed to the gills with green sweet peppers. I tried saying "Just a little," but she didn't hear me. Then she handed this thing to me. The overstuffing had split the sandwich. Paraphrasing Mitch Hedburg: a sub can never fall apart, it can only become a club sandwich. In the meantime the line at the counter had acquired 4 more impatient people. I shook my head at my own stupidity. I'm in Reston Town Center in VA. I can go to 20 different places in 10 minutes of walking. Why the hell did I come to Sprout? When I got back to the office to eat, I found out why the excessive sweet peppers. Both sides of the split sub had barely enough "steak" to cover the bread. So I scraped what there was, ditched 90% of the peppers and made myself half a sandwich. It's going to be a potato chip lunch. Not going back until thety've trimmed down the menu, hand you a bag so that you're not going out in the cold holding a sandwich and a potato chip bag in your hands, and can read their own instructions. read more

I went here for lunch one day after a doctors appointment in the area, and I got a sub. It was not good. I was starving so I ate it all, but honestly I don't see myself going back and wish I never went honestly. There wasn't much flavor, I could've made a better sub.. I wish I just went home and did instead. Maybe they have other good things, but my sub just wasn't good at all. Come to think of it, my wife got something different and even said hers wasn't good either. Service was good that's the only reason I'm giving two stars. I personally wouldn't recommend this spot to anybody who wants good food. Healthy food can be good, but this just wasn't. read more

Stubbled across this nice looking cafe in between a office building due to a fire in my building and having to be ordered to wait outside in the mugging weather. Entering, there was a nice sweet woman that approved of us sitting in but when the curiosity allowed us to actually order to what seemed to be an uninterested staff member (male) taking our order. It came to be a pretty rude experience due to how blank his stare was with short words and lack of service in communicating our options. When it was time to pay we were faced with another staff who added no enthusiasm whatsoever to our experience. She barely made eye contact and never even said a word such as "thank you" at least once the transaction ended. Though in the end, I must add the uninterested staff member did in fact say "have a good day" with a smile after handing off our food before leaving. Overall for me, it just wasn't a pleasant experience that allowed me to feel welcomed during my order and payment for the food and service, let alone want to spend my money in the end. I am visiting for business in Bethesda, MD and came across Sprout Cafe. This is probably my new go to place for a healthy and tasty lunch. Located in Bethesda Towers it has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food. This is my first time here and I really liked it. I got the Asian Ginger Sprout Salad with Chicken (the ginger dressing, wow!) Forgive me as I forgot the name of my meal, but I've been enjoying my meal and the outdoor seating the past hour with wonderful music they play. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-oiled machine of sandwich counter with hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, subs, burgers.... And a salad counter featuring, possibly, tiny kitchen sinks amid the YUGE selection of salad-things.... And a hot buffet bar! I wish I'd seen this before I wandered over to the sandwich counter. But I'm very happy with this steak and cheese sub and smoothie--delicious, quick, and not terribly expensive ($12). Definitely recommend! read more

This place is located right on the 1st floor of 4350 E West Hwy, next to Topaz Apts and across BCC high school. It's a Monday-Friday breakfast and brunch place for a quick take out order. Or if you prefer it's pretty big so plenty of seating available too. Seems like most customers are ppl who work/live in the surrounding buildings and the high schoolers during lunch time. Sandwiches are pretty decent for the area, got the Cabbie once and the Ever Roast BLT both we're a good lunch. But a little pricey as sandwich and chips are about $10. No drink either. The deli meat itself was just okay and the portions aren't that big for the price. I guess there's not much else around so they can sell it for that, makes sense. read more

Wow! Talk about an upgrade! This place is great! They have a breakfast menu, lunch menu, beverage menu (with great coffee offerings), cheese deli, meat deli, salad bar, antipasti bar, coffee bar, a small dessert selection and a large area for grab-and-go beverages and snacks. They have anything and everything healthy related--even smoothies! So far I have only had their espresso and americano, both great. I've had great experiences eating here. Prices are unbeatable, staff is friendly, food is tasty, high-quality coffee, relaxing environment. It is hidden in an office complex but easy to access from E-W Highway. Hours are limited due to business clientele. read more

This little corner spot is GREAT!!! They have everything from fresh made salads and sandwiches ( boars head) to general tso's chicken. Only waited a few minutes too get my hot sandwich with a long line. The hot buffet bar always has something good and most dishes are made fresh that day. Only thing is to avoid 11 to 11:45 because the place gets slammed with high school students on lunch break. read more

Sprout Cafe is great. They have relatively low-priced items for sale. Although I have not had their food items, their bubble teas (frozen) are good, especially the coconut and Thai tea. The pan-Asian buffet looks good and is very popular. It costs $7.40 a pound at lunch and $6-ish at breakfast, when they have traditional breakfast food. Beware: At about 11:30 AM during the week, students from the high school across the street mob the place for lunch. read more

Understandable that it gets a bit crowded during lunch time but at the same time it makes the most money from students, the least it can do is treat us with some sort of respect. Not only do they practically shoo us out the door after buying things with OUR money but they don't even allow us to sit down, they make us wait long and then have the audacity to restrict areas and leave, so rude. read more

Nice staff for the most part, but horrible supervisor/floor manager. I would've given negative stars, if possible. Their custom-made salads are ok, but today, the usual salad lady was unavailable and I was helped by a supervisor. It was an extremely frustrating experience. Her English was poor (which wasn't her fault). She was giving me a difficult time about my requested modifications for a Caesar salad. I had a very hard time understanding her, and this required another staff member (whose English was better) to do the translation. By the end of the translated conversation, which was longer than it should've been, it turned out that the supervisor said I need to pick a new salad because they're unwilling to make modifications - "You cannot order the Caesar salad. Each salad comes with a fixed list of ingredients and you must stick with them." This place is nowhere near a gourmet/cuisine kind of place, and it's ridiculous to disallow substitutions. Not sure why the *name* or *label* of the salad mattered so much to her. Overall, poor management, especially given most of their stuff is marked-up. A place that will just let a customer walk out, without any willingness to work things out with a customer, is bad business in my book. read more

I hate to be the only bad review but here goes.. I work near Sprout Cafe and I will never patronize again. REASON 1: Customer service: The cashiers are rude - more rude than the complacent staff at DC Government. They avoid eye contact a lot. Although I was first in line on 3 occasions, the cashiers decided they would start with the customer behind me or completely walk away from the counter. REASON 2: Unsanitary conditions: I got down to the last part of my buffet meal when I realized the long jet black hair strand sitting in my meal. Got the pics to prove it. REASON 3: Inconvenient payment method: I don't carry cash, I just want to swipe my card and go, not fish around for products that equal to the $4.00 minimum, I eat small! read more

Since the turn of the year this cafe has declined drastically. The food is bland and not properly cooked, The hot bar food is no longer appetizing often dried out. The morning hot bar today had the fried chicken wings I had for lunch yesterday. Now if you do not order your meal you can guarantee that you will be tossing most of it or buying a $9 salad. read more

Fast & friendly! I love their soups and salads all made with fresh healthy ingredients. I would love to try all their other menu items but I can't get away from the Asian Ginger Salad and a cup of soup. They're the perfect serving size for lunch. Keep up the great work Sprouts! read more

This place routinely runs out of half & half for the coffee. I literally have to check and verify the half and half is available before I purchase the coffee. Their coffee in my opinion is much better than Starbucks, but they need to do a much better job on inventory management. read more
