Besides them being quite pricey, I really have no complaints. While walking around the Georgetown area for the first time I was excited to see a Sprinkles location as I have never had a Sprinkles cupcake. The staff was super friendly and there was no long lines. Considering it was Valentine's Day when I went I was actually surprised it wasn't that busy but it did seem like they had a lot of orders.

The Sprinkles location in Georgetown, DC, is a good cupcake option in the city. Since opening in the early 2010s, I've visited a few times and my most recent visits this year came after an over decade-long gap since the previous visit because my earlier experiences were simply not good. I am pleased and proud to say the quality of their cupcakes and product consistency has improved, making the brand very competitive on M Street where there are other competitive cupcake shops within walking distance. However, I did notice the size of the cupcakes are noticeably smaller compared to the earlier days when they first opened. Despite the smaller-sized cupcakes, the price certainly increased. The cupcakes are moist and the icing is delicious. They have a catalogue of various flavors, some traditional and others, novelty. They also have treats for pups. The customer service was very good and the ordering process is conducted via kiosk in the lobby, which again is an update from my earlier experiences with the shop. Speaking of lobby, it is very welcoming with vibrant tones of pink. Overall, a good experience and I will continue to visit when in the area.

My fav cupcake shop ever! Super cute and small in Georgetown, Sprinkles is a cute takeout spit for amazing desserts! Love the vegan red velvet cupcake especially since Im lactose intolerant! But the cake is moist, fluffy, and the frosting is delish!

The shop is cute and small...only 2 tables. We grabbed a couple to share: lemon blueberry and strawberry. You self order at the kiosk and the cupcakes came out fast...very friendly service. The cupcakes were okay, average in my opinion, but nicely presented. The lemon was a tad dry, the strawberry moist. The frostings were both smooth but a little bit sweet for my personal taste. Overall a nice snack.

I kept getting targeted ads for these Nguyen Coffee Supply coffee cupcakes. I love Vietnamese coffee and cupcakes, so of course, I gave in. 5/5 coffee cupcakes - wow, I still think about these. I really should've ordered all coffee cupcakes. I couldn't get enough of the coffee buttercream. It paired so well with the coffee cake and condensed milk buttercream filling. I hope they collab again soon because I need more! 3/5 Strawberry Shortcake - ok cupcake. The cake was a little dry. 4/5 Dark Chocolate - good dark chocolate flavor. Paired well with my Vietnamese iced coffee lol.

WOW. I'm impressed with the quality and taste of the cupcake. Worth the hype! I loved the seasonal Cherry Blossom cupcake!

Despite being only a few blocks away from Georgetown Cupcakes, this Sprinkles had a good amount of customers (not as much to have a line forming out the door like Georgetown though). There were 2 staff members here when I came in and they were friendly. They helped the customers fairly quick so everyone was able to get in and out with their order within 5-10 mins. There were 2 areas to sit inside but it's more of a take and go shop. I usually like their cupcakes cause they have the basic flavors but also a few unique/seasonal ones but the one I got this time was just okay. I decided to go with the lemon blueberry - the cake was moist and had plenty of blueberries but the lemon didn't shine through as much. The ratio of cake to frosting was also waay off, definitely too much frosting. The cupcake actually seemed smaller than I remembered it to be. Still a solid spot to get a sweet treat.

It was my sister's birthday so we were going around getting her freebies! We end up purchasing cupcakes as well. It's cute spot but I recommend fixing that heavy door. But we were greeted and helped as soon as we walked in. Everything smelled, look and tastes delicious!

January Mini Sampler: chocolate, vanilla + sprinkles, red velvet
Sherry C.

I've ordered here a few times. The look of them alone are crowd pleasers. I prefer the mini versions to the large ones, only because I find the large ones to have an abundance of icing which isn't my preference. The cakes are moist, and every flavor I've tried has been delicious. My go-to is always red velvet, but I have to say with this place any flavor is worth trying. These are always a hit for birthdays- it's definitely way better to get a few cupcakes and flavors to mix and let people choose than one giant cake with fake icing from the local grocer. And they look so pretty!

$88 box of 12 cupcakes for lunar new year

Brought these cupcakes to a party and enjoyed the extra touch of their holiday packaging. The cupcakes were not very sweet - a compliment. However $88 for 12 cupcakes - a slight markup from their usual prices was just a bit of a price shock for me. I get it's a lucky number.

I've been to Sprinkles countless times specifically the location in NYC and every time I've been there, I've always been extremely pleased so I could not pass up an opportunity to visit the Georgetown location of Sprinkles in DC. This location is a lot smaller than the location I visit in NYC and lacks the ice cream selection but the staff definitely makes up for it. When I entered Sprinkles, I was greeted by Tia, who was more than willing to describe the cupcakes and answer all my questions. I settled on the sampler pack which includes a miniature vanilla, strawberry and red velvet cupcake, as well as four regular size cupcakes; vanilla, strawberry, red velvet and lemon blueberry. The sampler pack is a perfect assortment of cupcakes for dessert or an afternoon snack. The regular size cupcakes on the other hand are rather large and can easily be cut in half and shared. The lemon blueberry cupcake features a lemon cake with blueberries inside the cake topped with a lemon buttercream which had little bits of lemon rind in the frosting to enhance the lemon flavor. The red velvet cupcake, which was my favorite, was paired with a cream cheese frosting. The strawberry cupcake was paired with a strawberry buttercream, and the vanilla cupcake was paired with a vanilla buttercream. All cupcakes including the miniature cupcakes, were a little on the dryer side than what I remembered from past visits but the flavors were good, the frostings were perfect and not too sweet. If you're in the area, I recommend you try Sprinkles if you're looking for a variety of flavors, including seasonal flavors that have a touch of uniqueness.

Sprinkles is one of the better cupcake places I have tried, especially in the Georgetown area. However, I have definitely had better, which is why I would give them 4/5 stars. I ordered the salty caramel, strawberry, vanilla milk chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes. I thought all of those flavors were good, but all of them were just a tad dry, but the frosting was very tasty and paired nicely with the cupcake. However, some of the frosting was a little bit crusty, which I didn't love. My favorite of them was probably the vanilla milk chocolate, and I liked the addition of the sprinkles for texture. The service has become more automated, with your orders being placed over a touch screen. And the shop is pretty small, with there being extremely limited seating (maybe enough for ten people or less). I would say this is one of the best cupcake places in Georgetown that I have tried and I would probably return again, but it is definitely not my favorite cake place.

Happiness in a box! Dark Chocolate and Black & White

Must admit, I had a sweet tooth after cooking dinner for me and my friend--Sprinkles immediately came to mind. So. We. Ordered!! Love the cupcakes over Georgetown cupcakes. Moist, tasty, plenty of icing that's not super sweet. I've had soo many of their flavors-- I really like coconut but it wasn't available today. I tried the black and white and my friend had the dark chocolate. You won't be disappointed... !! So enjoyable on my sofa-- we even tried the chocolate chip cookie-- yummm and big enough to share!

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

The space is a pretty cute, modern café with cherry blossom décor and a great mix of sweet and savory pastries. We honestly tried almost everything Garlic Scallion Bun - Soft, lightly toasted with just the right crunch. Inspired by a Taiwanese garlic bun, it was super easy to eat and one of my favorites (9/10). Matcha Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - A rectangular croissant absolutely loaded with matcha and chocolate, topped with matcha powder. It was almost a bit too heavy on the matcha for me, and the bitterness overpowered the chocolate. Banana Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - Banana cream on top with banana chocolate inside. Pretty straightforward--tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a banana chocolate croissant. Ube Cheese Kouign Amann - Unique sweet-and-savory combo. The ube adds a subtle sweetness while the cheese gives it a creamy balance. Rich and slightly dense, and I just wished there was a bit more filling to balance the pastry. Miso Garlic Salted Bread - One of my top picks. Savory, buttery, and paired with a slightly sweet brioche-like base that balances everything really well. Elote Bread - Corn-topped savory bread with a nice sweetness and texture. This and the miso garlic bread were tied for my favorites. Strawberry Passionfruit Kouign Amann - Fruity and rich, but a bit filling overall. I just wished there was more filling to balance the pastry. Sugared Donut - Simple and classic, just a soft, sugary donut done right. Drinks: * Strawberry Matcha & Mango Matcha - Both layer fruit puree with matcha, but the flavors stay quite separate rather than blending together. * Vietnamese Coffee with Cold Foam - Strong coffee base with strawberry-flavored cold foam. It's pretty sweet overall with less of a coffee-forward taste, but still smooth and enjoyable. * White Mocha Latte - More coffee-forward compared to the sweeter drinks, which I actually preferred. Overall, I loved my visit--great spot for both savory and sweet pastries with creative flavor combinations and a lot to try. I definitely preferred the savory items over sweet here particularly the garlic scallion bun!

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
