Graham cracker ice cream! Delicious and so original
    Lauren F.

I really loved the s'mores ice cream here! They had a unique graham cracker base with a marshmallow ribbon and larger chunks of chocolate that really did capture the toastiness of s'mores. I topped it with their delicious fudge, and I felt like it was a really great take on a seasonal flavor. The ice cream was rich and creamy (my preferred style!) and ordering was smooth. It's a tiny store (it can only fit a few people at a time), and there's only a table and a couple of chairs outside, so I would plan to order to go. I was interested to see that they also sell Jamaican patties and cakes! I really want to come back and try their sweet potato cake now. I would definitely recommend checking out their ice cream if you're nearby! The flavors rotate, so there will always be something new.

Cute little ice cream shop off of Georgia Ave! They have vegan options and also empanadas. If you're in a rush, don't go here because they only had one staff member working. I enjoyed my ice cream a lot and it felt like a good deal only being $5.50 for two scoops.

I went on a cookie excursion while in D.C. with my sister. Seven spots in 2 days! It was quite exciting and adventurous with surprising results. Here's the Scoop, which is actually an ice cream place, was our first stop. I love that this is a family black owned business serving the community and we chatted with the nephew to get a little bit of some of the history. The snickerdoodle cookie I had was trash, completely inedible, however the cookies are sourced from another company. It's challenging to rate this business accurately because I didn't have any ice cream. My sister had a scoop of the banana pudding ice cream and raved about it. I believe it was heavenly and one of the best scoops she has had. I hate I didn't try any of it, but it was too cold outside for me. That beckons me to return in the future for some delicious ice cream. They had a nice selection of flavors, some traditional and some unordinary!

HERE. IS. THE. SCOOP. Everything in there is THE BOMB! My new favorite has got to be the banana pudding! The first time I brought it home I accidentally ate it all without sharing with my sister. Best believe the second time I got her her own and both of us were licking and scraping the container for the last bit of pudding. THE PUDDING IS DANGEROUS!! I would eat it everyday if I could lol. Aside from the pudding, the brownies are amazinggggg. Very moist and chocolate and paired GREATLY with some milk. The sweet potato cake/ cupcakes also one of my friend's and I's favorites. Very moist cake with cream cheese frosting... PERFECTION! Only thing: if you're lactose intolerant you may wanna have some lactate supplements with you lol. But I love this place and I would recommend it to want one who wants some quick sweets! AND it's black owned so go support a local black business!!

Cake - Several Flavors - They do sell out!

    - Sweet Potato Cake - Vegan Options - Rum Raisins - should I say more? Here's the scoop - they don't make anything there but they are a collaboration of several minority owned dessert businesses in the area, many of which black businesses. The staff is friendly, they like to see you smile and the dessert is awesome. I went with the Caribbean run raisin, and they delivered! They even have vegan dessert and ice-cream options. Tips 1) Cake - call ahead or get there early, they do sell out! 2) Try the fish fudge; the name does not reflect the taste; the only thing fishy is how good it is 3) They are the basement unit; don't miss them 4) They have apple IZZY, but they sell out

Loved everything about this ice cream shop! The owner was so sweet and I loved hearing the history about their opening and how the community had been supporting. They had some creative flavors that you don't see at other ice cream shops. They had the toppings, cones, and anything else you would want !

Banana Pudding / cinnamon bun ice cream

Decided to stop in for the first time after getting a wax next door - glad I did! The ice cream is soft and particularly creamy - great texture and the flavor is awesome. I got the banana pudding and cinnamon bun in a cup and loved it. The inside is small like most ice cream shops. I didn't see space to sit down but wonder if they set up chairs/tables in the front come spring.

Here's The Scoop is my new go-to ice cream shop when visiting my alma mater Howard University! It is small, but the scoops are big and packed with flavor. A great neighborhood small business with a great product and good service.

I was shocked to not only learn this business has vegan flavors but also that they have creative vegan flavors. I got baklava ice cream and loved the creamy sweet base with bits of pistachio and baklava in it. They also give very generous sized scoops. This small scoop was triple the size I expected. I loved every bite and will definitely be back to try more flavors!

mint chocolate chip and cookies n cream, with oreos on top

I was in the area running errands and had a craving for something sweet. I found this little shop on Yelp and decided to check it out. I was able to get parking right across the street even though it's on busy Georgia Avenue. The shop itself is small, but I love that it has patio tables outside if you want to sit and enjoy your ice cream. The staff was great and they let me sample a few flavors before I made a decision. I really loved their honey graham flavor - so good. I ended up picking my tried and true - mint chocolate chip and cookies n' cream. Because I'm greedy, I also got extra oreos sprinkled on top. So good! The ice cream was very creamy and the dark chocolate in the mint chocolate chip was surprisingly good (and big chunks). I didn't love the food coloring in it because I usually try to avoid that, but it was good so I got over it lol. Overall, a really nice shop with delicious ice cream. I'll try a brownie with ice cream next time.

Sorry the Banana Pudding was sooooo yummy!

Want some tasty desserts or ice cream ?? This is located a few minutes from Howard University. My girls discovered banana pudding here and I will say it's one of the best I've had !! I also tried the coconut pound cake that was to die for!! Staff was extremely kind, patient and helpful, guys, they even had Jamaican Pattie's here... chicken, beef , veggie, n calalou. And let's not forget the ice cream - didn't try any but going back next time to get them toppings with butter pecan! All reasonably priced items.

What a fun spot! We just stopped in on a whim on a Friday night and we got a free light up cup! Such great vibes! And the ice cream is obviously delicious!

They have a great list of unique rotating flavors, and it's always fun to come back to try out their new seasonal releases. A few of my favorites over the years have been their hibiscus sorbet -- a delightful dairy-free addition to their Hispanic Heritage Month flavors that is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet -- the cinnamon cardamom -- a super spiced ice cream that, despite being freezing cold, feels like you're about to drink a warm beverage -- and blueberry sour cream crumble. When I'm feeling less adventurous, they also have a really solid strawberry ice cream that uses real berries (none of that artificial nonsense you see in grocery stores) with a delightful fruity, slightly tangy flavor. There's usually a pretty long line, but it moves quite quickly since they don't allow samples. It's also a small space that gets crowded pretty easily, so I'd recommend taking your ice cream to go and enjoying it as you walk around Mt Pleasant or on the benches just below the entrance to Mount Desert.

I've been a few times since opening, and I think it's fine, but it doesn't live up to expectations. I have never been at an establishment that not only will not let you see your bill, but tells you to pay and then you can see your bill. She does this about three times and we're at a standstill to the part where I say I will leave if you do not show me my bill and I can call and pay for it afterwards and then she's able to go to the register and get a copy of my bill which it shouldn't have been that difficult and then I say I would actually like to talk to the manager. 6. Which I responded, what's going on a customer should be able to see the bill without going through all these hoops and he asked me again. Was there a question about the Bill. I responded again. I should be able to see my bill without all of these other their questions. This was a disappointing experience at a restaurant. They drove out of my way to go to. A customer should not have to call a manager over just to see a copy of their bill. To keep standing there after I said I want to a copy expecting me to pay without seeing the bill is wild and unacceptable. And a manager should absolutely handle it better when their employees doing this. Bad customer service.

I ate it so much last summer that I could see the color of the gelato get darker as the season progressed and as the berries reached their peak. I got a few hand packed pints to keep in the freezer but they didn't last long. The mascarpone & berries is my favorite classic flavor. I've been to every Dolcezza location in DC and my favorite is the DuPont location. The baristas are chill and somehow their drinks taste better than the other locations. Not sure how that's possible but I notice a difference. I think it has something to do with how the drink order is entered at the register. At another location, I noticed my DDL latte was entered as a latte with DDL syrup and it was noticeably off. Not sweet at all.
