I was craving a snack after a concert, and I was so excited to see Frio Frio was still open! They had so many flavors that sounded good, so I ended up getting the dulce de leche. You can see from my picture, they give you a huge portion of soft serve. They also put toppings on it, which were delicious. This was a great stop on a hot DC night.
Glad to see a new place open up within Union Market! I was excited to get the soft serve. However, I thought it was surprising how many options they did not have available at the time. Would I pay ~$10 for this sundae again? Probably not. But I'm glad I was able to try this. The cashier let me try some flavors before making a final decision. The guava cheesecake was good, but I wish I could use some more toppings. There's also a wait when I tired to order; it's not worth to visit if you have to wait at all in my opinion.
Just what we needed in the Union Market area in time for summer! Frio Frio is a tropical dessert shop serving up delicious soft serve and other treats inspired by the Caribbean and Latin America. They have a regular menu but also have a featured special flavor for the month, and a build your own sundae option. I tried the flavor of the month in June which was majarete (sweet corn) and salted caramel. This was absolutely incredible and one of the best desserts I've had in DC. I have to go back to try one of their recurring flavors like the guava cheesecake! There was a bit of a line because there was only one person working and they're making each sundae plus checking folks out, so that's something to keep in mind, especially on hot days. However, I had no problem waiting and was excited to see the success of a new small business in La Cosecha!
Fri Frio, you have to check them out! From the layered tropical soft serve with fresh fruit and beautiful edible orchids to the refreshing custom drinks, this spot is an absolute summer mood. The mix-and-match toppings bar is dangerous in the best way possible. The service is great and the ambiance in la Cosecha is perfect. Ordered: Choco Pistachio: A rich and creamy chocolate soft serve paired with silky pistachio sauce and roasted pistachios. Tropical Madness: A vibrant, dairy-free mango soft serve loaded with passion fruit jam, fresh strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, and topped with an orchid. Tropical Green Splash: A refreshing slushie blend of pineapple, cucumber, and mint, lightly sweetened with blue agave. Everything was delicious! very refreshing from the slushie to the tropical madness. Every bite from the choco pistachio hit the spot. 10/10!!
Stopped by Frio Frio the other day as I was curious to try this new Latin-inspired ice cream spot. They have set options as well as a build your own option. I got the Guava Cheesecake for about $10 and it was amazing. The toasted granola paired with the ice cream and guava really added a perfect crunch to this treat. I can't wait to go back to try more flavors!
Stopped by after dinner to soft serve. The have plenty odfseating nearby, and staff is friendly and helpful. The have a good selection of flavors and toppings, and the soft serve is unique and delicious. Definitely a great place to get something sweet to snack on. Overall, we had a great experience.
Frio Frio is the perfect addition to La Cosecha for a post dinner treat! While there are other ice cream shops near by Frio Frio offers something different with a variety of innovative soft serve combinations and toppings. I tried their guava cheesecake soft serve which comes with granola, guava jam topping, and biscoff sand. It SLAPPED. Perfect flavor combo and decadent without being overly sweet. Cup size was the perfect amount. Cost comes in at ~$10 for a cup which is about on par with other premium ice cream shops in the area. Excited to try the many fun flavor combibations on the menu and you can make your own too!
SOOOO GOOD! If you're in need of a sweet treat then Frio Frio is where you should go! The ice cream tasted amazing and knowing that everything is made in house made it better. Perfect treat for a summer afternoon. We were even able to eat it outside!
During these hot days in DC, Frio Frio has been enjoying a warm welcome inside La Cosecha over the last several weeks. They told me they recently sold out over a nice weekend. There are plenty of icy treat options around Union Market, but the soft serve plus toppings help Frio Frio stand out. The menu captures the tropical vibe. All the soft serve options sound really yummy. They do allow you to try samples (spoon of soft serve plus topping!) if you're indecisive. After trying the Piña Colada and Guava Cheesecake, I chose the Guava Cheesecake because I was looking for something creamy and fruity. I was told it was one of the most popular picks. This was so refreshing on 80 degree evening. Along with the soft serve and guava jam, you get the crunchiness and crumbs of granola and butter cookie. They're both amazing toppings on top of the guava and cheesecake flavors. If you're not feeling anything on the menu, they have a build your own cup option, too. I saw some people with the Frio Frio cups when I was in the neighborhood over the weekend and I'm so happy I got to finally try it. If you're in Union Market for lunch or dinner, save room for Frio Frio.
The crunchy toasted coconut was the best part of the pina colada icecream. We had no trouble finding seats in the food court.
Yum! The dulce de leche soft serve with biscoff was super tasty! Staff were friendly and one of my favorite soft serves I have had. A bit pricey, but very shareable (I think it would be a touch too big for one person to order on their own- but tasty enough to devour solo)

I got the guava cheesecake and my friend got the tropical madness. The staff was very friendly and allowed me to sample the other flavors. I do think it's a bit over priced for ice cream but I'll be back to try the dulce de leche crunch.

If you're looking for a fun sweet treat in DC, add Frío Frío to your list! Frío Frío recently opened inside La Cosecha Latin Marketplace, and I loved the variety of flavors and toppings they offer. Their soft serve is inspired by the flavors of Latin America and the Caribbean, with options ranging from passion fruit and coconut to dulce de leche, mango and pistachio. I tried a few flavors, and my favorite was definitely the Dulce de Leche Crunch. The dulce de leche soft serve topped with dulce de leche drizzle and crushed Biscoff cookies was SO good. If you love dulce de leche, I definitely recommend this one. I also tried the Chinola Cheesecake, which is their flavor of the month. It has passion fruit soft serve, passion fruit jam, Biscoff cookie crumble and a cookie on top. The sweet and tangy combination was really good. The Piña Colada was another favorite -- coconut soft serve with house-made pineapple jam and toasted coconut. It was light, tropical and tasted like summer in a cup. I also love that most of the cups are around $10, making this a pretty affordable treat when you're exploring La Cosecha. Overall, Frío Frío is a fun addition to the DC dessert scene, especially if you like tropical flavors and soft serve with lots of texture and toppings. Soooo good! One of my favorite frozen yogurt place! Unique flavors and toppings! Must try all the flavors!! Generous portions, so definitely shareable. If you're about supporting small vendors, and I am, this is a must try! Right now during the World Cup ALL vendors, especially this one should open late late because the place is packed on good game nights like last night. I wish the hours were late late on event nights. It's probably best it isn't for my waist line tho!! lol my favorite flavors anything with chocolate! Friendly staff. read more
I tried the blood orange flavor, which was very refreshing. It is another dairy free option that is available. I will say that I liked the mango flavor better, but this one was good paired with the passion fruit jam, strawberries, and pistachios. Frio Frio always has quick service and large portions. Delicious and much needed ice cream spot in La Cosecha. I tried and loveddddd the dulce de leche flavor. I wish there were smaller options as the portions are super big and because of that kind of pricey. But the ice cream is delicious and I love the location! read more
This was such a cute little ice cream shop! They had pre made sundaes to choose from, or you can make your own. It is a big sundae, so be prepared to eat or share! I got the pina colada sundae and loved it!! It is very coconut forward since the ice cream is coconut, but that is the way I like it! read more

I've been wanting to try Frio Frio but I'm usually in La Cosecha early morning before they open. Today I was able to visit around lunch time and was blown away. Someone had mentioned that the frozen yogurt was good but I wasn't prepared for how good it would be. I had the Tropical Madness. It's a mango flavored soft serve with mango puree, blueberries, and strawberries. It was delicious! The portion was very generous for $10. It's the type of dessert that could be a good "dessert for dinner" type of meal. The Tropical Madness is vegan and dairy free so I didn't feet sick or heavy after eating it. I sat inside of La Cosecha and enjoyed the beautiful interior. The murals are stunning. Service was quick and efficient. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors. Although, the Tropical Madness might be my go to order. read more
Super delicious and will be back! Very unique flavors that you can't find anywhere else in the city. Prepare for a wait because the line did take about 15 minutes with not tooooo many people in front of us, but worth the wait. Will come back! read more

It was my daughter's birthday, and Frio Frio was the perfect dessert after dinner near Union Market! The customer service was wonderful, and the ice cream was so delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and it made her birthday feel even more special. I only wish I lived closer because I would definitely come here all the time. Highly recommend! read more
