I must say the bowl was refreshing. This was my first time tasting the strawberry base and I would definitely be going back to the açaí base. The toppings were really good and I appreciate the fact that this establishment makes their own peanut butter daily. I'm so happy my walk home took me to this incredible gem! I've been wanting to try it for months now, but I always forget to stop by. Wow it was worth the wait! I ordered the dragon bowl. I was genuinely surprised by the size of it. Next the heaping amount of their freshly ground peanut butter on top was the best! It was a combination of sweet and savory with the peanut butter and the dragon fruit. The granola and chocolate was the cherry on top to give it some texture and volume. They have a plethora of different smoothie bowl options aside from your regular acai. Most bowls come with granola & honey, & then you get to choose your third topping! I've become a bit of a DC açaí bowl connoisseur and there are many places to get them but this ranks near the top for me. Interestingly, a lot of their bowls don't necessarily include açaí. They have some adventurous flavor combinations but I'm a traditionalist and was looking for something close to a "standard" açaí bowl. I got the jungle bowl with an açaí add-in topped with their gluten free granola (they have separate GF granola for those with a sensitivity like me!) and blueberries .... it was excellent! The woman who helped me was digging her fingers in a small bowl of what looked like cookie dough and eating them. She proceeded to make my açaí bowl without washing her hands. In March 26th I came in and ordered a green smoothie. I won't be coming back because I've had an awful experience with both the staff and management: 1) After paying $11.70 for my smoothie, the employee working thought it was a good idea to make inappropriate advances towards me. It started off as casual conversation then moved to him asking progressively more invasive questions that ended with a request for my number. When I told him "no" and that "I gave a partner," he responds with "how would I know if I didn't ask?" Um: be professional, you're not supposed to ask. 2) Again, after paying for the smoothie, I was informed by the employee that he didn't put kale in it because "it was frozen." So, essentially, I ended up with a green smoothie that just had fruit and avocado... that's sugar and fat with, like, zero health benefits in the absence of the kale. What is the point of drinking that??? If I had been informed of this before paying then I would have ordered something else. 3) This is my second review. I took down my first one because the owner was thoughtful enough to send me a message apologizing for my bad experience and offering me a refund. I found that to be really classy and appreciated the effort. However, I never received my refund. I checked in with the lender days after the initial mention of a refund, and he said he'd look into it: still nothing. All around, I'm just disappointed. read more

Walked over after a workout nearby. I took a hot yoga class and it was hotter in the smoothie shop than it was in my yoga class. No music playing, complete silence, just one lady working, sweating with her mask half way off over someone's açaí bowl. Waited 5 minutes while she finished making to go orders. Placed an order at 9:30pm last night via grub hub. Order was for over $200 for 12 volleyball girls needing dinner after some late games. Order was supposed to arrive around 10:30. Saw that grub hub guy headed to store. Then about 10 minutes later go a text saying order was cancelled. I had to call grub hub only to find out store was closed when he arrived. So now almost 11pm and girls with no food. Terrible way to run a business. So many hungry disappointed people. Clearly don't care about their customers. They've lost this customer forever. read more

A generous three stars because I absolutely love the bowls here! This location is so hit or miss in every other regard. The staff in the mornings during the week is efficient and always takes good care of me. Often times I am disappointed when I go later or on the weekends. If the shop opens on time (I've had them 30 minutes late on multiple occasions), workers are usually sitting around or MIA and usually don't know how to use the computer, log or redeem rewards, etc. This happens time after time. The shop is often a mess, as well, with the sitting area not wiped down, etc. This doesn't add up since the workers are legit sitting on their phones. Too bad because I love love love Rush Bowls. This one needs a makeover and new (or improved) management. read more
