I must say the bowl was refreshing. This was my first time tasting the strawberry base and I would definitely be going back to the açaí base. The toppings were really good and I appreciate the fact that this establishment makes their own peanut butter daily. The one employee they had working on Sunday was very attentive and nice but the wait for this bowl took about 20 minutes because she was taking orders, making online orders etc. I would definitely give this establishment another go but would recommend going if you have some spare time.

Place was cute and yummy! I got the peach pump, would recommend. They have freshly made peanut butter so I'll have to try that next time.

Super delicious! Unfortunately, there was only one person working so it took a long time to order. I don't think I'll come if I'm pressed for time.

I'm so happy my walk home took me to this incredible gem! I've been wanting to try it for months now, but I always forget to stop by. Wow it was worth the wait! I ordered the dragon bowl. I was genuinely surprised by the size of it. Next the heaping amount of their freshly ground peanut butter on top was the best! It was a combination of sweet and savory with the peanut butter and the dragon fruit. The granola and chocolate was the cherry on top to give it some texture and volume. I can not wait to go back to this place and try my next bowl.

So fruity and refreshing! The bowls are topped with your choice of natural ingredients. Best of all, the bowls are customizable to fit your every need. The granola and honey are a perfect finishers.

Stopped by Rush Bowls for a quick grab n go breakfast recently. Such a cute little spot with fresh ingredients and lots of choices to really make any bowl your own. There are several different types of bowls you can order, with different bases and both sweet and savory topping choices. They've also got a small smoothie section and even a puppy bowl if you bring your furry friend! There is a very small seating area, and a little fridge with some drink options too. Definitely stop by if you want to support a local acai bowl joint.

Stopped by rush bowls for a quick breakfast since it was around the corner from my friend's new apartment. I loooooved this place! They have a plethora of different smoothie bowl options aside from your regular acai. Most bowls come with granola & honey, & then you get to choose your third topping! I opted for the beach bowl (acai, banana, mango, and guava juice). It was so good and so fresh! My two friends got the chai mystique, which was also so creamy and so good! Their juices are super fresh and their pb is also freshly grounded. Definitely a new go to bowl spot in dc!

The jungle bowl with an açaí add-in, topped with gluten free granola and blueberries. So good!

Visited Rush Bowl for the first time over the weekend and had a great experience! I've become a bit of a DC açaí bowl connoisseur and there are many places to get them but this ranks near the top for me. Interestingly, a lot of their bowls don't necessarily include açaí. They have some adventurous flavor combinations but I'm a traditionalist and was looking for something close to a "standard" açaí bowl. I got the jungle bowl with an açaí add-in topped with their gluten free granola (they have separate GF granola for those with a sensitivity like me!) and blueberries .... it was excellent! I will definitely be back and will recommend them to others.

I've been on a shakshuka kick lately, so I opted for the the Sweet Potato Shakshuka, which is described as: Sweet Potato Curry, with Chickpeas and Sunny Eggs with a the chicken add-on - gotta get that protein in, after all. This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

The Tikka dish with fried egg was tasty, but wish paneer or larger protein option was built-in (not an upcharge)! The creamy red Tikka curry sauce, caramelized onions, crispy brussel sprouts, and fried ere tasty and paired well, the dish felt incomplete and something was missing, maybe some paneer or naan? I paid $5 for a side of zesty naan topped with different spices and really wish it came with the dish just came with it. While I was tempted to order the falafel, I couldn't justify shelling out another $5 for another upcharge and spend $10 on them for a total of $26 for just an entree - when these 2 upcharges should have been included in the entree by default. Wish there were more fun vegetarian dishes on the menu. Might come back for drinks and to explore the menu!

To be honest, I almost skipped it entirely after seeing the line, but I'm glad I stuck it out. Although I couldn't make out the menu until my time to order I was proud of what I ended up with- the halawa honey, a smooth balanced coffee for the coffee lover seeking a sweet treat, and the smoked amba chicken pita. I now feel inclined to go back and try everything on the menu. From this brief introduction alone, I feel Confident that anyone who bear the line will be rewarded.

Since it was later in the day, they were out of some of their baked goods items. So we grabbed the bbq lamb shoulder wood-fired pita sandwich and shatta batata tots to share. The sandwich was big in size, so you can easily share it. My daughter and I shared it and we both liked how filling it was and the ingredients were fresh. The lamb was super tender and the combination of flavors were amazing. The tots were also seasoned well. It also came with a tasty creamy dipping sauce. I did wished they were cut in layers like a hasselback potato like I saw on the show. I thing texturally it would have been more interesting than the current tots which had chunky pieces of potato in squares. For the drinks my sister got the coconut cardamom and I got the peanut dalgona. The peanut dalgona drink is the drink to get. I loved the flavor profile and the creamy topping. The place was busy. At the end of the day reservations aren't required. It's sit where ever available. Overall we had a great time. We would come back again.

The cheese puffs and artichokes were mediocre, and the macarons were fine but nothing memorable. The tarte flambée was slightly below average. It tasted mostly like cheese and fat, with none of the depth or balance I expected. The biggest disappointment was the steak au poivre. We ordered it medium rare, which our server specifically said was also the chef's recommendation, but it arrived somewhere between medium and medium well. More surprisingly, it was one of the toughest steaks I have ever eaten. At $49, that is unacceptable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing: bland, not buttery, and nothing like the rich French pommes purée I expected. We also ordered the carrots, but they never arrived. At least we were not charged for them. The crème brûlée was good, but a good crème brûlée could not redeem the meal. The service was attentive and polished. The restaurant was also nearly empty at 5 p.m. on a Friday, with only one other table occupied inside and a few people outside, which in hindsight may have been a warning sign. Beautiful room, decent service, deeply disappointing food. I would not return.

The restaurant business is tough, so I drafted this review with a bit of sadness. I had a good time…read morein large part due to the atmosphere and my date (my girlfriend). That said, a couple missteps that should not have occurred took this review into the negative realm. Let's start with the positive. This appears to be a great new addition to the neighborhood, and I hope it is supported. The appetizers were delicious and nicely presented. The pistachio feta with grilled pita was tasty and interesting. The halloumi with orange marmalade was as well. The hostess was engaging and friendly. The atmosphere was calming with a touch of casual refinement. One of the entrees was delicious (the scallops and grits). I'd order all three items mentioned so far, again. The negative. The second entree was the short rib. It was tender and.... Wow, way too salty. A shame because it was otherwise well cooked and nicely plated. But whoa. When the hostess came by, my girlfriend kindly said it was a bit salty. I "refined" her answer and said she was being nice, but it was very salty. The hostess went to note this for the kitchen (a positive for her), and because we are on the first floor outside the kitchen window I heard the conversation. The chef responded that he knew what had happened. Earlier when preparing the short rib someone (in his words) blasted it with salt. What this tells me is that they knew they'd made something close to inedible but served it anyway. At the end of our meal we had leftovers of the two apps and the short rib. We asked for a bit of extra pita to take home and they provided. Then the bill arrived. Not only was there no adjustment for the inedible short rib, but they charged us $2 for the pita. The least they could have done was just given us the pita. Ah well. Those two missteps; 1) serving a known and improperly prepared entree, and 2) not doing something to make good when reported, have led to this sadly negative review for a place that could and should have gotten a positive one. Hopefully someone there will see this, and the experience and review will be a learning opportunity that will help them thrive.
