The spot was small but clean. The customer service was great. The employee there was friendly. I ordered a Beach bowl. It was ok. Not the best bowl I've had, but not the worst. The inability to customize a bowl, and the price to add more toppers was a little upsetting. read more

I must say the bowl was refreshing. This was my first time tasting the strawberry base and I would definitely be going back to the açaí base. The toppings were really good and I appreciate the fact that this establishment makes their own peanut butter daily. The one employee they had working on Sunday was very attentive and nice but the wait for this bowl took about 20 minutes because she was taking orders, making online orders etc. I would definitely give this establishment another go but would recommend going if you have some spare time. read more

Rush Bowls on U Street Corridor is a lovely spot. The service was prompt and very courteous. The only drawback for me was that the fruits were blended with the acai, I would have preferred that pieces of the fruits be put on top of the acai rather than blended. I'm so happy my walk home took me to this incredible gem! I've been wanting to try it for months now, but I always forget to stop by. Wow it was worth the wait! I ordered the dragon bowl. I was genuinely surprised by the size of it. Next the heaping amount of their freshly ground peanut butter on top was the best! It was a combination of sweet and savory with the peanut butter and the dragon fruit. The granola and chocolate was the cherry on top to give it some texture and volume. I can not wait to go back to this place and try my next bowl. read more

Stopped by Rush Bowls for a quick grab n go breakfast recently. Such a cute little spot with fresh ingredients and lots of choices to really make any bowl your own. There are several different types of bowls you can order, with different bases and both sweet and savory topping choices. They've also got a small smoothie section and even a puppy bowl if you bring your furry friend! There is a very small seating area, and a little fridge with some drink options too. Definitely stop by if you want to support a local acai bowl joint. read more

Stopped by rush bowls for a quick breakfast since it was around the corner from my friend's new apartment. I loooooved this place! They have a plethora of different smoothie bowl options aside from your regular acai. Most bowls come with granola & honey, & then you get to choose your third topping! I opted for the beach bowl (acai, banana, mango, and guava juice). It was so good and so fresh! My two friends got the chai mystique, which was also so creamy and so good! Their juices are super fresh and their pb is also freshly grounded. Definitely a new go to bowl spot in dc! read more

Visited Rush Bowl for the first time over the weekend and had a great experience! I've become a bit of a DC açaí bowl connoisseur and there are many places to get them but this ranks near the top for me. Interestingly, a lot of their bowls don't necessarily include açaí. They have some adventurous flavor combinations but I'm a traditionalist and was looking for something close to a "standard" açaí bowl. I got the jungle bowl with an açaí add-in topped with their gluten free granola (they have separate GF granola for those with a sensitivity like me!) and blueberries .... it was excellent! I will definitely be back and will recommend them to others. read more

Came in here on a very hot day to cool off with my favorite thing in the world ACAI BOWL!! The woman who helped me was digging her fingers in a small bowl of what looked like cookie dough and eating them. She proceeded to make my açaí bowl without washing her hands. I had no other thought than; wow this is utterly disgusting, and I have no care in the world to combat this because I'm too hot and hungry. side note: You guys really need to check your staff, Im not a health inspector but based off that interaction I'd give this place whatever lowest possible grade. FOOD: Cant recall exactly what type of bowl I got but had coconut inside which is my absolute favorite. The texture resembled a smoothie but was cool and chewy to uphold the consistency of an açaí bowl. I would come back because I love açaí bowls that much. My item ran me about $10, but would not call this place overpriced because you are getting a large bowl for your money. Would probably come back read more

In March 26th I came in and ordered a green smoothie. I won't be coming back because I've had an awful experience with both the staff and management: 1) After paying $11.70 for my smoothie, the employee working thought it was a good idea to make inappropriate advances towards me. It started off as casual conversation then moved to him asking progressively more invasive questions that ended with a request for my number. When I told him "no" and that "I gave a partner," he responds with "how would I know if I didn't ask?" Um: be professional, you're not supposed to ask. 2) Again, after paying for the smoothie, I was informed by the employee that he didn't put kale in it because "it was frozen." So, essentially, I ended up with a green smoothie that just had fruit and avocado... that's sugar and fat with, like, zero health benefits in the absence of the kale. What is the point of drinking that??? If I had been informed of this before paying then I would have ordered something else. 3) This is my second review. I took down my first one because the owner was thoughtful enough to send me a message apologizing for my bad experience and offering me a refund. I found that to be really classy and appreciated the effort. However, I never received my refund. I checked in with the lender days after the initial mention of a refund, and he said he'd look into it: still nothing. All around, I'm just disappointed. read more

Saw that grub hub guy headed to store. Then about 10 minutes later go a text saying order was cancelled. I had to call grub hub only to find out store was closed when he arrived. Much like its…read moresibling over on the SW Waterfront, this outpost of Bistro Du Jour serves a French menu most Americans would find appetizing. While the dinner crowd was large, the service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Steak Frites, which was cooked to perfection and tasty. Nowadays, I typically only eat half of my entree and take the remaining portion home, but the food here was good. I ate the whole thing. If you're staying at the Royal Sonesta, the restaurant provides the room service. Unlike its sibling location in SW, this Bistro Du Jour does not participate in the InKind app.

The cheese puffs and artichokes were mediocre, and the macarons were fine but nothing memorable. The tarte flambée was slightly below average. It tasted mostly like cheese and fat, with none of the depth or balance I expected. The biggest disappointment was the steak au poivre. We ordered it medium rare, which our server specifically said was also the chef's recommendation, but it arrived somewhere between medium and medium well. More surprisingly, it was one of the toughest steaks I have ever eaten. At $49, that is unacceptable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing: bland, not buttery, and nothing like the rich French pommes purée I expected. We also ordered the carrots, but they never arrived. At least we were not charged for them. The crème brûlée was good, but a good crème brûlée could not redeem the meal. The service was attentive and polished. The restaurant was also nearly empty at 5 p.m. on a Friday, with only one other table occupied inside and a few people outside, which in hindsight may have been a warning sign. Beautiful room, decent service, deeply disappointing food. I would not return.

The food, however, was unfortunately very mediocre. We came for brunch on a Sunday around 11 and the place seemed dead. Both my French toast & bacon were overcooked to almost burnt and didn't taste very good as a result; the French toast was also served without syrup, and when I asked for some, it caused some sort of commotion in the kitchen that we could hear. It sounded like the regular chef wasn't in yet or something & whoever was cooking kept telling the server there was no syrup until the server got fed up & got it himself. Just bizarre. I'm rounding up to 3 stars because I loved our server, a mature gentleman who was funny & did an excellent job, but the food missed the mark.
