There wasn't much breakfast options at 6:45am at Washington Union Station. Discovering that Jamba Juice and McDonald's were the only viable options available before I had to board a train out of DC. The Jamba Juice experience here at Union station DC included a homeless person that was in line ahead of me. Thankfully, he wasn't causing problems and had money to pay for his food. The entire experience that morning took me about 15 minutes from ordering and pick up. I normally don't do smoothies, but it was healthy enough and didn't want to be rushed before heading out on Amtrak. The staff here was good and friendly. I ended up getting a large orange C booster since I was dealing with a cold, but traveling anyway. For the most part, though, it was a quick and easy breakfast solution for that cold March 26 morning. Jamba Juice is a quick meal solution that is an alternative to Starbucks and any fast food restaurant. It just happens that they were here at Union Station before I had to board the train out of here. It was nice that they were here when they needed it and at 7 AM in the morning. I enjoyed the ambience while being quickly served and I was on my way. It was nice to hear the sound of blenders blending to smoothies because we have Jamba Juice in Honolulu Hawaii as well. So it was a familiar sound of my daily life when I'm not traveling. My favorite smoothie would have to be the strawberries wild and the peanut butter moo'd. But lately, I've been drinking the orange C booster because I was traveling with symptoms of a lingering cold, which seems to be improving with each passing day. Plus, it's a nice way to have breakfast without eating alot of carbohydrates in the morning. The overall experience here at this Jamba Juice location in Washington Union station was typical and refreshing for the crowd and the idea of taking a train versus a flight out of Washington DC. The restaurant itself was basically standing room only. I didn't see any seating available for customers to sit down and enjoy their food and smoothies. No air conditioning that was felt that morning since I didn't really have time to feel anything that morning. Just got in and out of there with my order and was feeling just fine. This Jamba Juice location is directly next to the train departure queues, so you could get your food and drinks about 15 minutes prior to departure and still would have made it. Best bet would be to grab your food and drinks with ample time before the train pulls into the station so you don't have to rush your purchase and experience here at Jamba Juice, if you can help it. The prices here are pretty reasonable and they offer the 3 typical sizes: small, medium, and large. The large was close to $10, which wasn't that bad actually. They have a nice selection of flavors. You can also mix flavors and add ingredients for an additional cost. Overall, I can't complain too much. It was nice to see Jamba Juice in the heart of Washington DC. It was a familiar sight while I was traveling around the eastern seaboard in March 2026. It's definitely healthy compared to other options out there. I would definitely recommend getting Jamba Juice here at Washington Union station, whether you are arriving or departing. It's a delicious way to welcome you to Washington DC. This Jamba Juice location is physically At Washington Union Amtrak station. It serves the community and the travelers who commute by transnational buses and Amtrak. It's physically located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE in the heart of Washington DC. I think Union Station is accessible for anyone and anyone, so you can grab your Jamba Juice on any given day. Only those who have confirmed train tickets can board the Amtrak trains, but buying Jamba Juice here is available for anyone, which is definitely nice when Union station is open for business. I'm sure that there is parking for people who commute by car, so there's normally a parking area nearby. For me, though, I arrived here via Uber and departed via Amtrak. And of course, there's Uber and Lyft for those of yall who need those ride share services. There's always riding the Fairfax county connector bus services if staying in Alexandria or northern Virginia. And the various metro lines that connect DC from DVM triangle area. Using these various metro lines to get you to Union Station and that freshly made Jamba Juice is a great way to spend the morning. With that in mind, this Jamba Juice location is a great place for your morning. A happy place to jumpstart your morning by having a healthy smoothie for your day ahead. The Union Square Jamba Juice is pretty much what you'd expect from a typical location, though my experience here was disappointing. I ordered a smoothie bowl, and the texture was off--it came out soupy, almost like they didn't add enough ice. The bananas and strawberries were cold as expected, but the consistency felt more like a smoothie poured into a bowl rather than the thicker, more substantial texture I'm used to. I've had much better experiences at the Penn Station location, where the bowls are thicker and even come with toasted coconut toppings--something this Union Square spot didn't offer at all. The store itself was quiet when I visited, yet the staff seemed frantic and a bit disorganized, which was surprising since there wasn't a crowd. The limited toppings and lack of attention to detail made this location feel underserved, and it didn't live up to the standard I associate with Jamba Juice. If it weren't for the brand's name recognition, I'm not sure this spot would get much traffic. It's a basic experience, but it falls short of what Jamba Juice should be. read more

Upon entering you're greeted. The AC and ventilation is off and on here. Sometimes it feels amazing here with a good amount of free flowing fresh & cool air. But a few times it has been humid. Either way it was worth it. The employees are very friendly as well as highly social. They're always smiling and happy which is a major plus. Also the smoothies have always tasted amazing. They're usually thick which is a plus. Watered down smoothies are terrible because they taste very liquified. When it's thick it means they used a good amount of fruit to make it which is very good. The overall environment was very clean and organized. I've noticed after they make the smoothies they put the blender containers in the sink to wash which is a major plus. So many smoothie places cut corners these days by not rinsing in-between orders. Here they actually do the right thing which is good. I'm a huge fan of Jamba Juice from their juices to smoothies so I was super excited when I recently started working in DC & that there was one mid way of my commute. The products are great which is why I did give this place the two stars that I did however there are quite a few problems. 1. Customer Service: Everyone here (I've been here multiple times) rushing you through even when there aren't any lines. Today I went and while I was trying to order my smoothie the girl taking my order cut me off four times to address other people working there. 2. Does not accept the Yelp Check in Offer even though this is the correct location. I have tried two times just out of curiosity before adding this. All the workers here state that they don't offer any discounts or offers and they don't understand why Yelp keeps doing this. Overall, it's false advertisement & they won't do anything about it. 3. Messy! Each time I've received my smoothie it's been dripping on the side & handed to me that way where I had to wipe it down with napkins. Or a few times I've ordered a small & was given a bigger size (not really complaining) but it definitely shows their lack of detail. *warning* Yelp users they do not except the Yelp check-in offer. But that isn't the reason for the low stars. I got the matcha green tea blast and it just wasn't that great in my opinion. Don't get me wrong it taste like matcha, but because it's mixed with yogurt it taste milky which would be okay if it didn't dilute the flavor so much. Since the only strong flavor is the matcha all the other milky flavors kinda make it flat. Not worth the $7. Also my cup wasn't all he way full so I was a little irritated about that as well. I was only irritated because it wasn't that great so you could at least given me a full cup. I've had their other smoothies and they are pretty good. So that's why the rating isn't so low. The Jamba bowls are on the small side and they are the stars of the menu but they hold their own easy. I hate that I don't like fresh fruit on top because customizing isn't the easiest thing to do here but I do it, slightly. I get my bowl without strawberries, blueberries and bananas, adding goji berries. With goji berries, honey, granola and coconut flakes I think I found a really good açaí bowl for when I'm not at South Block, shout out to South Block. It's inside the very nice Union Station. I've not visited a Jamba Juice before so now's my chance. The menu is very specialized, if course, it the plant based looks no beuno for this surf & turf guy. However I like a good smoothie as much as the next guy so here we go with a pb banana chocolate love and It's a darn good smoothie at the price I expected, hey the bottles of beer are $7.25 on the train so there's that:-) My sweetheart is feeling a little funky and thinks it could be a drop in potassium doe to the one blood pressure maintainer she's taking so a big ol' pb banana prorien smoothie for her to bring back to the lounge. I'm shocked that I even have to write this. After glowing initial reports of the energy bowls, during my past two visits I've gotten pretty skimpy bowls. There was barely any actual fruit in my most recent bowl. Definitely prefer Smoothie King, the smoothie I had from Jamba was oranges and carrots ( I forget their specific name ) because they were out of kale so I couldn't get the smoothie I initially wanted. The carrot and orange smoothie sounded like a good idea, but what I was served was lackluster in flavor and tasted more like a poorly flavored Slurpee than a smoothie. They always greet customers, even the ones that just walk through the establishment to get ro their train. I've come everyday for a week. Because if the timing the same person has accommodated me. She suggested the best selling juices and I enjoyed her recommendations. The wheatgrass shot has been my go-to and the Greens n' Ginger smoothie to get in my fruits and veggies. I've been here a few times (my favorite - the Pomegranate Pick-Me-Up) and the staff keeps things moving along here at a relatively quick pace. However, in attempts to be quick, sometimes there can be a little messiness involved - my smoothie yesterday was dripping all down the sides and coming out of the top, and the smoothie-maker didn't do anything to wipe it down - just stuck it inside another paper cup (a bit wasteful, in my opinion) - and it still continued to drip all over my hands. When the guy filled up the cup, it came up about two inches short - about the size of a regular. He was happy with that and was putting on the lid when I pointed out to him that he shorted me by a good amount. Clearly, this pissed him off. He wordlessly made another batch to fill up my cup and ever since then he has recognized me and shot me a glare other times I've been in there. Oh, and this guy is the manager. I've heard amazing things about Jamba Juice as a company but I cannot say that I was the least bit impressed with my experience. Being a first timer, I felt like the assembly-line service was very impersonal. The first thing you see when you walk in is a rope indicating the line and the menu. That didn't leave very much room for me to inquire or ask questions about the menu and my options. There's also not a lot of time to make up your mind. The ordering line moved too quickly for me to hop in it without knowing what I wanted. I'd only be holding everyone else up. But at the same time, I couldn't really ask any menu questions without getting in line. It just wasn't a good look in my opinion. Okay so I go ahead and order the dang on smoothies and wait for them to be made. Instead of going by orders, they send each individual smoothie ticket down the assembly line. Somehow, the smoothies end up not being together (not really sure that happens though since they are all on the same ticket) And each time one of my orders was up, they'd scream my name really loud. I had 3 different smoothies and found this part extremely annoying. Why not put all my smoothies together and make them all at the same time then scream my name once? Would that have been too much to ask? Finally, the taste test. It certainly wasn't worth the price. I paid $20 for 3 smoothies and I didn't like the consistency of mine. It was way too loose. The flavor was okay. But nothing I'd go gaga over. All in all, there is absolutely nothing special about this experience and I won't be coming back. read more

I really, really wanted to like Jamba Juice. I really did. But the fact of the matter is that there is no such thing as a corporation or chain that operates in commerce that sells whole, living foods. If you want a healthy smoothie made from whole, organic fruit you will have to make it yourself. Jamba Juice uses a combination of frozen fruit, puree, soy milk (which is toxic), pasteurized greek yogurt, etc., none of which are whole foods, i.e. that has been unprocessed and have not had the vital enzymes and nutrients removed in order to maintain shelf life. Also, the majority of restaurants (including those five star restaurants) use non-food products that they get from Sysco. No, acai powder is not good for you. It has been stripped. The acai BERRY in its natural form has health benefits IF it has been grown in nutrient rich soil. Jamba juice, like Panera bread and most others use "enriched" flour in their baked goods. I've had the parmesan pretzel and it was terrible, but the knowledge that the nutrients were stripped from the product for shelf life and then chemicals disguised as nutrients were added in is deceptive. Not sure how many more reviews I will be posting as eating out is not something I want to do any longer. Bottom line? Grow your own, make your own and eat less. You'll live considerably longer. read more

The last visit I made to this post of Jamba Juice was on the 1st of August, 2012. It seemed that the level of cheer was still in full effect... "Welcome to Jamba!!" followed by "WELCOME TO JAMBA!" and then topped-off by yet another "Welcome to Jamba!!!1" Over the course of about three weeks, the employees have picked up speed and accuracy. Their smoothies are always inconsistent and taste horrible. $7 for crap that I just took one sip and threw in the trash immediately. It's mostly OK but sometimes they run out of key ingredients. They keep one of their two doors closed, I guess to keep the homeless from camping out, and I have to take the long way around to get in. I have had hassles with their gift cards not working -- they make it right but it's a pain and time sink. Sometimes I'll go in during off times, like Sunday afternoon when there are just two employees and hear them complaining about schedules or what not -- then I turn around and leave. Just got off a long, tiring train ride and wanted something refreshing. I ordered my usual with a personal cup branded for a different drink company, which I have done many times before. The cashier said it was find and based the cup down to her coworker. 5 minutes later the woman calls out a smoothie that is not my order (PB with extra protein), so I do not look up. Another 5 minutes pass and a manager asks who had the personal Cup. I walk over and the manager makes a woman awkwardly apologize to me for giving my personal cup away. I asked what they were going to do about it and they said they would give me one of their cups. So somehow someone took my personal cup (without the lid or straw which I was holding, even though it was a cup from another brand) and neither the person taking the cup nor the employee noticed, and their solution was to give me one of their cups for free despite my original cup being a different style/brand which I preferred more as it was easier to clean. They did not offer any $ off of my next drink or a refund, or to give me money to cover the cost of the cup. While I appreciate the replacement it is not the same and the way the manager handled the situation was fine but not outstanding. The employee was not competent. I frequent amtrak and used to go to this jamba often, but with so many other options of places to eat or grab a drink in Union Station, I would suggest trying something else. read more
