Sadly this place is a little out of my price range for regular family outings but would be great as a once in a while date night! My husband said his burger was the best one he had ever had. My steak, even after sitting for a while since my one year old insisted on being held and steak is not a one handed food, was perfect. I've visited the public house many times and will continue to do so! Its a community atmosphere and the bartender is awesome! Overall: 9/10 This is one of my favourite local places to eat. Everything is good and you can't complain about the pricing. Atmosphere: 8/10 It's a nice cozy little place. It can get a little loud at times but it has a nice energy. The menus and tables are clean. If I drop some food on the table I'll still eat it without fear of catching some rare and un-treatable disease. Service: 9/10 I'm a frequent flier and I've never gotten less than stellar service. The waitstaff is friendly, happy to chat, will go out of their way to make you happy, and they make the place very welcoming and pleasant. Tip your waitress well here, they earned it. The Food: 9/10 Everything here is good. The burgers are juicy, the mac and cheese is cheesy, and the shepard's pie is to die for. The fries taste good, the sweet potato fries are delightful (though sometimes they can be a little soft), fried pickles are among the best I've had, but the real MVP is the onion petal.Humble yet bold, you can't go wrong with the onion petal. The Value: 8/10 Some things can be a little on the pricey side compared to their portions, but the quality makes up for it. The more expensive items are forgivable and some items have great value (have I mentioned the onion petals?). The prices are in no way a turn off. Wonderful service and really good food. They are famous for their pulled pork sandwich and onion petals. What ever you order, you have to get the pedals with the dipping sauce. They also have great local beer selections and cocktails. Come hungry cause they have big portions. read more

This is a great establishment. Everything on the menu is well made. It is our local 'Cheers'. The staff is top notch and friendly. Bartenders are quick to remember the regulars. Great for the family. We went here for an early lunch before a funeral. Service was Terrible, the wait staff brought drinks out once and never returned to refill drinks. After waiting over an hour for our food we were had to leave with no food and the manager made us pay for our meals that we never received. We informed the wait staff when we got there that we had a time constraint but we're told that it would not be a problem. This was for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was practically empty. I could not believe the service here. The soda had something floating in it, the waitress never checked in. Slow slow slow cooks, took 30 minutes to get a burger and a sandwich. Once we got said food, the waitress didn't check in with us at all. The "medium rare" burger that we ordered was RED. Waitress was very rude to me. My husband and I have become somewhat regulars at the pub...the best margaritas ever!! The use fresh squeezed limes and no bar mix. We've been thru the entire menu and have been completely satisfied. The staff is always friendly and really seem to be happy to be at work. We live in Springvale and are so pleased to have a great nieborhood pub! Best food in Sanford/Springvale. I always get the French dip with the onion petals and have been pleased time after time. The baguette has a crispy, thick crust and a chewy crumb (inside). The prime rib is tender and delicious. The onion petals are great. I get the same thing every time because it is just so good. The atmosphere is so-so. The service can be downright rude, especially if you order take out, but I guess nothing is perfect. I keep coming back. read more

Quite simply, if you are looking for fantastic high quality food for a reasonable price, and a great tap selection, this is the place for you. Pros: Every piece of the food was fantastic. This is not the prefrozen, nuked crap that you get a lot of places. The sauces, seasonings, fish, and appetizers are all packed with flavor. Even the sour cream is creme fraiche. BEST PICKLE CHIPS I HAVE EVER EATEN!! You can order anything off that menu and it will be fantastic. They really nail the food. Great drink selection with lots of stuff on tap. And they are REALLY reasonable pricewise. Cons: Our waitress was....confused at best. She seemed bewildered by everything, did not know what IPAs they had, forgot a sauce, was very awkward and brought me a 12oz paper cup as a to go container for my potato skins. "Loaded" potato skins don't have bacon on them....c'mon guys. Everyone loves bacon. Bacon is the easiest way to please your customer. Bacon and beer...done deal! Add some bacon. Overall, a much needed addition to the Sanford scene, and I hope everyone tries this place. I will be bringing everyone I know there. The food was good if you could get the food. Considering myself very reasonable and very patient and almost always giving a 20% tip at least, I believe I have a reasonable complaint about my server. She began by coming up to the table and making her nonverbal body language clear that she really wasn't interested in serving anyone. Once she took our order we hardly saw her again, until she gave us the bill and her impending tip was due. At the time she presented the bill, she was chatty and friendly. Another frustration was her trying to get me to order what she wanted me to order and her trying to discourage me from anything other than what she called the normal order that people order regarding condiments that go with certain orders. All in all it was like pulling teeth trying to get her to just do my order which was reasonable friendly and with a smile. read more

Prices are really reasonable, always a great deal and the food is wonderful. We especially appreciate the choice of sides that come with everything. You can get the incredible fried onion petals, a salad, fries, or a choice of other excellent offerings. The chicken pesto sandwich is a fave. Even the side salad is a work of art, with fresh shaved parmesan and Italian dressing that rivals the stuff at Olv. Garden. You really can't go wrong with this place. read more

Let me tell you that the pulled pork sandwich does NOT taste like cat food. It's actually the best I've had. That lady was probably intellectually disabled and felt a sense of entitlement to write an angry review on Yelp. Get off your pedestal and eat some real cat food, you reject. I always get the French dip with onion soup because the prime rib is made specially for the sandwich and not old leftovers from the night before like other places in the area. Everything is made in-house including the dressings. Adam is a culinary saint. Don't let these intellectually disabled angry reviewers fool you; they have false senses of entitlement and probably request Coors Light in bottle at a pub with 20 micro brews on draft.
