    Steak tip dinner $28
    Susan B.

We were happy to find this restaurant open during the winter here in Wells. We were able to walk in and get get seated quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was quite packed with people both at the bar and dining areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered appetizer of fried pickles, which was a huge portion for $10. (I didn't expect some sort of seasoned salt on top of them yuck) , Ordered the fried clam strip platter which consisted of a plentiful portion of very tender clam strips, fries (which also had the seasoned salt in them) and coleslaw. The coleslaw was something less desired and will choose another option in the future. The last meal was steak tip dinner. Only 3 small tenderloins of steak served with coleslaw and baked potato (of choice). A little over priced for the quantity of beef. Overall the staff was very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment was loud, and it didn't help they sat us among a bunch of infants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] NOTE: the bill was $70.24 BEFORE TIP. The tip suggestion on the bill is NOT accurate. Great local place to enjoy cold drinks and some great food options. The bar was full so we grabbed a table in the area near the bar. Our server was wonderful, very attentive and nice. Started off with a favorite local beer from the Maine beer co, lunch a 7%IPA. My group shared a pepperoni pizza and an order of cheeseburger sliders and a large salad. Everything was really good.

I've been to Litchfield's 3 or 4 times and consider it a decent local restaurant for casual dining. I've had their steamers, Reuben and most recently the Wagyu sliders with some Haddock bites....all very good. I've never gotten the pizza but it definitely looks pretty decent. The atmosphere is simple and comfortable. The servers are pleasant and polite. The menu selection is well rounded and affordable. My main criticism is that the drinks are inconsistent to the point the last time I ordered an additional shot of JD for my jack and soda. I give 3-1/2 stars with potential to be north of 4 stars. So give Litchfield's a try and enjoy!

This was our first stop after Landon Manchester, on our way to Acadia NP. We arrived at 2 on a Tuesday. It was pretty crowded. The lobster roll had the right amount of butter. The roll it was served on was perfect. The chicken strips had a lite breading . It came with a Honey Dijon sauce. It was very good. The server was very friendly. Service was excellent. Especially considering how busy they were. Next time I'm in Maine we will be sure to stop here.

Bacon burger on a GF bun and coleslaw

Our food was delicious, it was all very tasty, and our waitress was wonderful and very helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We appreciated her service and were sat facing the patio, which was nice and offered a nice breeze after a day of sightseeing in Kennebunk![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We would absolutely return and get each of our meals again, esp since the GF bun held up perfectly! Thx Litchfield's!!

    Pizza - very good!!!

I would describe this place as more of a local spot in a touristy area. We went on a weekend night and it took us around a half hour to get a seat at the bar. While waiting, we tried to get a drink and that took at least 15 minutes as well. For food, I ordered the seafood 2 way combo. For $25, the portions were small and the clams tasted off. I wasn't able to finish the clams because of they're odd taste. The scallops were good however, as were the sides. My mom ordered the pizza and it was very delicious and affordable. While I am giving 3 stars because of the disappointing service and clams, I would come back and stick to bar food. I'd like to go back and try a burger or wings or something! But I would stick to seafood elsewhere.

Went there yesterday with a friend from Arizona. Lunch was delicious as always. I had French Onion Soup and North Shore Beef. My other friends had the Clam Chowder which was The Best. I live in Ogunquit and frequent the restaurant. Always Very Pleased. Thank you!!

I'd been coming here for at least 20 years, and in recent years it had been a favorite spot to eat outside when traveling with my dog. But now, we are not allowed to eat outside with a dog. Instead we had to order to-go and then walk down back to a 'dog area' which is a spot to the left of the building, below the parking area with one picnic table and some chairs in the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day, but we were getting eaten alive by no-seeums, which is not a nice experience when paying $100 for 1 meal with 6 scallops, 4 small pieces of fried fish, fries and slaw, an order of onion rings, a small clam chowder, and 2 beers. And $50 for a small lobster, an ear of corn, and an iced tea. I get that this is a tourist area, but $12 for a beer in a plastic cup and a $7.50 up charge for 6 scallops while being banished to a buggy spot that made eating very uncomfortable is a big no thank you for me. Crossing this place off my list, sadly. The upgrades and changes to this place are not a bonus at all. I'm sad that a place I always felt was friendly and welcoming is now overpriced and we all felt like we were being treated as second class citizens.

The highlight for me is, without question, the two-foot lobster roll. It's huge, loaded with fresh lobster from end to end, and served on a perfectly soft sub roll. Every time I order it, I'm reminded why I keep coming back. It's not just a novelty because of the size. It's genuinely delicious, generously filled, and an incredible value for the amount of lobster you get. It's easily one of my favorite lobster rolls anywhere. The restaurant has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that's great for families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxed meal. The staff is consistently kind and attentive, and Barb always stands out. She's warm, friendly, and genuinely makes guests feel appreciated. It's refreshing to find a place that's been so consistent over multiple visits. Great food, generous portions, and people who clearly care about their customers keep me coming back. If you're in the area, don't leave without trying the two-foot lobster roll!

My parents live in New Hampshire and have been ranting and raving about this restaurant in Maine…read morewith a 2 foot long lobster roll for months, and after hearing about this thing non stop, I was finally visiting New England and just had to give this thing a shot for myself. We came here at around 5PM on a Monday, you know, prime time dinner hours, and the place wasn't too busy (it definitely got busier). This place screams New England from the second you walk in to the second you leave. The cozy environment and seafood based menu kind of makes picking what to order pretty easy, especially when a two foot long lobster roll is a menu staple, so that's exactly what I ordered. The lobster roll came with chips that I wasn't even able to touch since the giant roll and lobster consumed every inch of my stomach (I really should have gotten a smaller one). I gotta be honest here, I ordered the giant lobster roll hot and with butter and I couldn't even tell if butter was used or not. I think my main issue is how dense the roll is, at some point I had to just start taking the lobster off since the bread was so thick. Overall, Bull N' Claw is a solid seafood restaurant in a state built on sea food restaurants. I totally get why my parents love this place, but the lobster roll itself was pretty bland compared to other ones I've had in the area and I probably won't be returning on future trips to New England. The staff was great, the place looks really cool, and this place is definitely somewhere worth checking out because it might just be a favourite for you.
