How this place is in business is beyond me. Walked in and my 8yo daughter begged to leave saying how bad it smelled. We continued in, ignoring the dust and sat down at a booth. Our server was sweet, she was happy to help and attentive. After ordering my daughter had to use the bathroom, "OH MY HEAVENS, what is that smell?" She said. Yall the bathroom, it is SO bad, the sewage smell is unbearable. We had to leave without using the bathroom and didn't even wash our hands as we felt we would get dirtier somehow. My daughter said they should use an air fresher, I said honey I saw one, she said well then they need 10. I don't know that 10 would help, there is for sure something wrong with that plumbing, that was not normal. I was so grossed out I wasn't sure I could eat. Our food finally came out and it was all disposable plates. Really? Anyways, we paid, we were out and won't be back. Ring in Austin for over 20 years I always wanted to try this place but I highly recommend you do not.

It's been decades since I've set foot in this place. After you pull into the steep and potholed gravel parking lot, you can step back in time to a building filled with old relics which adds to the charm. I did read through several reviews before coming here, but nobody mentioned that they have absolutely no craft beer or wine, just the usual domestic offerings. Not even Shiner! We started with the sampler platter appetizer which was underwhelming and small. The hush puppies were clearly previously frozen out of a bag and of ver poor quality, skip those nasty nuggets. After 5 PM, you can get the baked potato, but I would definitely skip their salad out of the bag. For the main course, I got shrimp and fish and the wife got hers baked not fried. The beans and slaw were ....meh, fries were ok. I hate to say it, but there's a lot of yelpers slapping down five stars on what is just 2 to 3 star grub. Part of the ambience here is dining on styrofoam plates and cups with a roll of paper towels at the ready. The service was friendly and attentive. The catfish actually wasn't too bad and it was the highlight of the meal, which isn't saying much. For the money, this place is a pass for us. So if you're looking to sit down to some great quality seafood, I would suggest looking elsewhere. If you have little to no expectations and like the vibe, this place is for you. And if this place is for you, they do have some dining areas set aside for private parties, although you may wish to avoid using the bathrooms, especially the women's. When you finally pay the bill with a credit card, you will be charged an additional 3.25%. I used cash. Nine photos included to help you decide. 21/2-3*

Review of Springhill Restaurant in Pflugerville Nestled in the heart of Pflugerville, Springhill Restaurant is a hidden gem offering a delightful selection of Southern comfort food classics. Their catfish fillets and fried shrimp steal the show, expertly fried to a crisp perfection and seasoned to tantalize the taste buds. Accompanied by homemade pinto beans, fries, and hush puppies, each dish adds its own unique flair to the dining experience. The homemade pinto beans are a standout feature, boasting rich flavor and a comforting texture that rivals even the best homemade recipes. Similarly, the hush puppies are a hit, with a perfect balance of crispy exterior and soft, flavorful interior. While my husband encountered a slightly burnt batch on one occasion, a second try confirmed their deliciousness, showcasing consistency in quality. In addition to the main dishes, Springhill impresses with its slaw, offering a refreshing accompaniment that complements the hearty flavors of the meal. However, during peak hours, the staff may appear slightly overwhelmed with pick-up orders, but their positive attitude prevails, ensuring a pleasant dining experience overall. The ambiance at Springhill is charming, with antique items adorning the walls and creating a cozy atmosphere that transports diners to a bygone era. Moreover, the cleanliness of the establishment is commendable, providing a welcoming environment for patrons. In summary, Springhill Restaurant offers a memorable dining experience with its delicious Southern fare and nostalgic ambiance. Despite minor inconsistencies, it remains a top choice for those seeking a taste of authentic Southern hospitality since its establishment in '85. O and you definitely get a sufficient amount of food!

If you are looking for fried comfort food, this is your place. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by relics from the past and good ol' southern hospitality. We went for dinner and it hit the spot for us. Hushpuppies, garden salad, chicken fried steak, baked potato and peach cobbler ala mode and the portion size is large enough that we shared all of this between two people. It's local and home style food. Give it a try!

As a lover of buffets and catfish, I was excited to come try this spot out. It's a very country style, more southern than western type of restaurant. They've got all the foods associated with the south like fried catfish, hush puppies, boiled green beans, carrots, mashed potatoes, and even fried gizzards! I love this type of food and having a buffet of it really satisfied my cravings. Lunch buffet is from 11-2 and costs about $16 with a water and $18 with a fountain drink. I would come again since I like it but I would point out that I love Golden Corral too and they have all the same dishes plus more there for a better price at lunch. But it's worth coming here for a slice of something different.

Everything was delicious! Catfish basket sub fries for okra. Shrimp basket sub fries for beans. Side of cole slaw.

I don't know why we don't order from here more frequently. We had a hankering for fried catfish and decided since they are so close we'd give them a try. It had been years since my last visit. The pick up process (ordered during covid) was fast and simple. The staff were all friendly. The food was piping hot and delicious. Everything was fried to perfection. Their tarter sauce is delicious. Next time we're craving fried fish we will be back!

Nothing to write home about. Thankfully, Pflugerville has added a few new restaurants. It was slim pickins' for several years.

I found this place on TikTok and looked up the location and we just drove straight to it. When we arrived I was confused because I expected a restaurant, but instead a food truck. Was I a little skeptical? Of course, I couldn't lie. Regardless, the reviews were great and their food looked amazing on TikTok. I ordered a #3, which came with 1/2 crab, 10 shrimp, 1 sausage, 1 egg, and 1 corn for $30. The seasoning I added was "lil kick" and Chili Limón. When we got back to our hotel, the food was still warm and I cannot say this enough... it was amazing. Absolutely 10/10. The crab was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was perfect. The shrimp came out so smooth and the potatoes were BOMB. I wish I took a picture before eating it all!

We got #6 I believe which was 1lb of crab, 15 shrimp with sausage, one egg and one corn. Flavors were lemon pepper and Cajun but we asked for the mild option. I also emphasized on mild (bc I have acid reflux). The guy said to give him 15-20 min. 20 min go by and he said it would be ready in about 20min when we attempted to pick it up. Overall 40+ min for overly spicy (not mild at all) plate. I wouldn't come back here. Some of the crab legs barely had any meat in them too. I came here bc I didn't realize the other crab place in Pflugerville was closed.

I know last time I got the clam chowder but hey, it was 102° outside! One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the cleanliness of the restaurant. It's wasn't too busy but the music was on the loud side. Maybe a touch lower please? The burrito was really nice. I thought that maybe my Mahi Mahi would be a little thicker? The fish seemed slim in comparison to the whole of the "Maines" entree. Jalapeño slices accompanied for some pizzazz. The sauce was flavorful and left no shortage of drips. I chose the side of fries. Perfectly made and absolutely screams fresh cut & fried. There's only one problem with them. They tasted fishy. That's because they fry them in the same fryer as the fish is fried. Not my kind of expectation with perfectly golden crisps. I would advise using a stand alone fryer for potatoes only please. Knox my server was very kind and hospitable & we enjoyed talking about the best hot sauce in the world which is found here, Belize's Marie Sharp's. That's a real winner to accompany your meal. Garbo's is classy but to get lobster which is what they're known for, you're going to have to pay for it. It was unfortunately a higher ticket item than I was willing to go for. Definitely improved in value from last time, thank you Garbo's. It's a nice place to dine & I hope to continue getting a superb value when I'm able to visit there again.

Nothing fancy, just some good seafood to end the night. I called in my order around 9:00 PM and ordered Combo #2, which comes with 2 snow crab clusters. We chose green mussels and shrimp with medium sauce, plus I ordered an extra side of sausage when I arrived. I got there around 9:24 PM, and there was already a line, so I honestly assumed my food probably wouldn't be ready yet. Welp... SURPRISE! My food was already sitting on the counter when I arrived. Now, I'm wondering... how long had my $56 seafood dinner been sitting there before I got there? Because by the time I got home and opened those bags, pretty much everything was COLD. And then came the real plot twist... I opened the bag expecting saucy, seasoned seafood, and instead I got DRY SEAFOOD. The sausage had more sauce on it than the entire bag of crab legs and mussels! I'm still trying to figure out how the sauce was supposed to work because the crab legs were dry, the mussels were dry, and basically all the meat was dry. The crab legs had seasoning sitting mostly on top, but there was no sauce throughout. The mussels? Just sitting there dry as the Sahara. The ONLY thing that was actually hot was the extra sausage I ordered when I got there My fiancé didn't even eat. And THAT made me even more irritated because this was supposed to be our little Friday night treat after a long night of work. Instead, I'm sitting there looking at $56 worth of cold, dry seafood like... surely somebody is playing in my face. Surfing Crab, I'm mad. I'm mad that we paid that much money. I'm mad that the food was cold. I'm mad that the seafood was dry. And most importantly, I'm mad my fiancé didn't even get to enjoy his food! For $56, I need more than a bag of seafood that looks like it has been waiting on somebody since the dinner shift started. Surfing Crab Round Rock, y'all are going to have to do better. Because when I order seafood with sauce, I expect the seafood to actually meet the sauce. Not the sausage to be swimming while the crab legs are over there fighting for moisture. Friday night: RUINED. Fiancé: DIDN'T EAT. Wallet: $56 LIGHTER. Me: MAD. I really hope this was just an off night because I wanted to like this place. But based on this experience... Surfing Crab, baby, we need to do better. At least shake the bag to get sauce on everything is that hard for a girl to ask for!!
