Ever since Bent's Opera House opened, I've been curious and wanted a reason to try Harvest for…read moredinner. The opportunity finally presented itself and, overall, it was a really nice experience! Three of us had made reservations for 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived, there were zero issues. Parking for Harvest is primarily street parking but there are smaller parking lots nearby. The interior comes across fancy, modern, with nice views of Main St. and as you walk in to the dining room, the open-kitchen to our left and a warmly lit, nicely stocked bar to our right. We were seated at a table towards the middle of the dining room. At 6pm, most tables were empty but when we were leaving there were a good amount of people at both the bar and seated in the dining room, so it seems like people tend to come for a later meal. Our waitress came over and poured us waters and provided drink and food menus. This was a first for me - the menus lit up! Our waitress though was incredibly courteous and personable, she did a fantastic job checking on us. To kick the evening off, I ordered their Honey Hibiscus cocktail, which is mezcal, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, honey, cinnamon, lime, and fee foam. This was a nicely balanced cocktail with a more floral, fruity flavor. With the open kitchen concept, it was neat to see the chef and cooks working on our meals as we relaxed, talked, and munched on some warmed focaccia-like bread with a freshly made balsamic, olive oil, herb dip. The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of chew on the crust/exterior, and served warm. For dinner, I ordered Pappardelle Mornay and added (perfectly grilled) chicken breast for a few more dollars, which is simply pappardelle pasta in a creamy cheese mornay. Our waitress crushed some black pepper atop my dish before I started in. This was excellent - The pasta itself tasted so fresh, the cheese mornay was indeed very creamy, and the grilled chicken breast was cooked, seasoned, cut, and portioned perfectly. I am really glad I added the chicken breast to this dish as I'm not sure the pasta itself would've filled me up. I'd definitely order this again! To wrap up our meal, since it was Thursday, there's a "1/2 off Nightcaps" special, so each of us enjoyed a cold foam espresso martini afterward, which is coffee-infused vodka, Nue vodka, FAIR Café liqueur, dark crème de cacao, Steamworks espresso, chocolate bitters, vanilla syrup, and topped with an infused cold foam, which we went with the Frangelico Hazelnut cold foam, and a few espresso beans. This was ridiculously rich and delish! Harvest is an intimate, elevated dining experience, designed to have you stay a while, relax, and enjoy a more personal meal. All of us really enjoyed our evening here and have nothing but high praise for the staff and quality food. This isn't a fast, casual, cheap sit-down meal, but it's an experience worth the higher price. I look forward to coming back!

It's located on 1st floor of an upscale boutique hotel in what used to be an old bank (they still display the vault). My parents have gone numerous times, but this was my first visit. The interior decor is beautiful & upscale, including comfy chairs, and tables are not packed together. The live piano music was a nice touch, though we all agreed a tad loud to support dinner conversation. From start to finish, everything was pleasing, beginning with cocktails, the Bison ribs app, root salad, & entrees. We didn't order dessert, but I saw some others getting delivered, and they looked delicious. Service was excellent. We'll be back!

My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful -- very thoughtfully decorated with such an inviting atmosphere. The view of the lake is stunning, and I loved that you can see the water (and sunset!) from pretty much every table. It really makes the whole dining experience feel special. Our server, Kyra V., was amazing! She was so friendly, personable, and honestly just adorable. She made us laugh and gave honest feedback when we asked about the menu, which we really appreciated. You can tell she truly enjoys what she does, and it made our night even better. The food was phenomenal. We started with the Caesar Tower, which easily fed four adults as an appetizer -- and it was honestly one of the best we've had. Highly recommend! Our entrees did not disappoint either... everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The specialty drinks were crafted perfectly and were just as impressive as the food. We will absolutely be returning and can't wait to dine outdoors when the weather is nice. Such a great experience all around

But the most impressive thing is the food - we were blown away. The best things were any of the pastas, the shrimp bao buns, and the red shrimp, but we loved everything (orange chicken and steak frites). The red shrimp honestly tasted better than lobster, and came with a really good garlic butter. We would order this over and over. The shrimp bao buns didn't' just have tiny chopped up shrimp - it had large chunks of shrimp and you could taste them. The prices are also very fair. In the summer you can even see the lake and eat outside which is a plus. Galene is now one of our favorite restaurants in the area and can't wait to go back.

1/5 Stars - Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience at Kade's Scratch Kitchen …read more We've dined at Kade's Scratch Kitchen four times, but our latest visit was a complete disaster. My husband ordered a second beer, which never arrived, yet it was included on our bill. I had two drinks and even offered him half of mine, noticing he'd only had one, before we realized the error on the check. When he politely pointed out that he never received the second beer, the owner insisted she "100% delivered it" and argued with him, refusing to correct the mistake at first. As someone with years of hospitality experience in foodie cities like Portland, Maine, and Boston, I've never seen a restaurant owner argue with a customer over something so trivial--especially with a family dining with two kids, having ordered appetizers, meals, and three cookies for dessert. When my husband tried to address the issue calmly, the owner shockingly threatened to call the police if he didn't leave. To make matters worse, she was openly complaining about wanting to go home to bed when we arrived, setting a negative tone from the start. While everyone can have a bad day, this level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Kade's Scratch Kitchen has lost our business, and it's clear the owner is in the wrong industry.
