A friend got married in the area, and this was one of the places listed in the invitation. Here's my review in two parts: 1. **Motel** 2. **Bar/Food** I found the motel on Hotels.com and was able to speak and text with Mary Alice, who was great and very helpful with my questions. It's a family-run place, I believe. The motel is old-school, with only about five rooms, and I think they all have a lake view. A few things to keep in mind: when you leave, make sure to leave your key in the room, as the door locks automatically. Each room has a mini-fridge (a bit noisy), a mini coffee maker with coffee, and an electric stove/oven. There's also a large couch, a small table for two, a TV, AC, and other essentials. The view is lovely, and watching the sunrise was a nice bonus. The place is tidy and comfortable, though it could use a slight refresh. I also wish they had provided Kleenex/tissues--we had to use toilet paper, which wasn't a huge deal, but still. You check in at the bar, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I spoke with Tammy, who was great and took care of everything. The bar itself is spacious, both indoors and outdoors, and they offer a wide variety of drinks. I don't think they serve tap beer, but the bar snacks are good--the mozzarella sticks were tasty. Next door is the Clam/Crab Shack, the "fine dining" restaurant, with indoor seating and some outdoor covered seating as well. The bar area also has tables with umbrellas attached. This is a seasonal spot, and I believe they close at the end of October, but I'd recommend checking their website or calling for more details. Drinks are good. They have a great outdoor bar with a big selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. Bartender was quick and friendly. Ordered food from grill. Fried dill pickles are so good. Day on the water and we needed to fuel ourselves. The food was delicious. I started with the seafood chowder which was very tasty. For lunch I had a burger which was cooked perfectly. Fries were a little salty for me. The view is gorgeous and you can watch the boats come in and dock. Sandy beach for the kids to play in the sand. Walking into the restaurant you are punched in the face with the thick pungent smell of urine, and I thought maybe they had a cat or something, but it turned out that it was the bathrooms whose entrances faced the restaurant area. Wickedly slow service. But the bartender is kind and remembers our names and drinks after only three days of frequenting the establishment. Owner has been on the premises almost daily, since it's a holiday weekend. No outside drinks allowed. I had to pour mine out on the dock before we disembarked. They also require a shirt and shoes, which is weird. I mean, it's an outdoor party! Besides that, they have limited of pours. Two of the beers I wanted were out. They don't have any high end top shelf anything. They do have Tito's, which is what most of us had. I stuck with local beers. A game of pool is only $1.25, so bring quarters. The dart board is the plastic electronic one. Not my style. Otherwise, there is a tv for entertainment if you're not into amazing people watching! The little food counter has some great offerings! This was the highlight for me. The seafood chowder was delicious! The pickle Spears were huge. And the pretzel sticks were so soft, hot out of the oven, and tasty. They give you a number and deliver it to you, which is nice! We were able to keep on partying. Staff there has helped us bring our boat in a couple of times. But I'd say the local people who rent a spot on that dock for the summer are really the helpful ones. They hooked us up with drinks and snacks on the docks! The dock party might be better than the beach party lol. Live music all summer long, see my pic for the schedule. Band plays outside. Not much shade out there for bring a hat and some sun block. The staff is super friendly and I really enjoyed chatting with several of the servers. The outdoor patio and tent are really nice when the weather is good, so we sat outside to hear the band. I liked that you could either sit in the dining area to eat, just go to the bar for a drink and sit at the picnic tables or grab an ice cream at the ice cream counter. Our dinners were all tasty and the fresh baked rolls are delicious. Beachcombers is a fun summer place that I will return to when there is another nice day for relaxing by the lake. read more

We ordered buffalo chicken wrap there was no chicken. When we complained to the cook, he brought out and overstuffed wrap after being condescending and rude. The bathrooms were old and out dated. We've been to the Beachcomber a couple of times now. Each time it really hasn't been too busy. They do sometimes have live music but we seem to miss those times when we go. Would like to see them offer bands on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. They have a decent choice for beer and liquor. Drink prices are average. We did eat at the restaurant there on a different occasion. Had the fish fry and it was really good! They do have a couple rooms/cottages available in the event you don't want to drive. They're clean and neat - may have to try them out some night if we check out a band! read more

It's a cheesy dive bar, don't have high expectations. They have a few rooms available. They were clean and comfy. Each seemed to have a pull out if needed for extra bodies. The food was excellent :)- everyone enjoyed their meal. Great flavor.... We sat outside under a canopy with a beautiful view of the lake. The problem was the gnats. It was a constant battle to keep them away. Nothing worked. We had bug spray and the owners had fans by the table. The only solution I could offer is larger fans to deter this from happening. My husband and I were in the area for our minimoon. We needed lunch as we were recovering from the wedding the night before. We got there just as it opened. WOW (all caps) is really all I have to say. What this place lacks in outward visual appeal it more than makes up for in charm and staff. I don't know what else to say other than that Linda is TRULY out of this world! From the raspy greeting upon entering to the vivacious, yet graceful, moves on the dance floor our entire party could not help but become mesmerized by this passionate woman. Upon striking up a conversation this infatuation only intensified as she welcomed us all with open arms and a blazing menthol cigarette. Not only did she ensure that her patrons were having a good time but she took it upon herself to not succumb to being part of the problem and got behind the bar cleaning up every last dirty cup left on the dance floor. Linda truly made our party's 4OJ (red, white, and blue tutu and all) weekend and we cannot wait to return to the Beachcomber to continue our insightful discussion over this years upcoming election (MAGA 2024!!!) in the near future. I took my family to dinner. We waited 2 hours and watched 3 tables get their Food before us. The owner was rude and made all kind of excuses instead of owning up to her mistake. We called the Beachcomber and the hostess stated there was a Zac Brown band at 8pm. We asked if they had food and she replied it was outside and in the dining room. She stated if we ate in the dining room there would be no $12 cover charge for the band. We drove down from Rochester and the woman giving the wrist bands confirmed it. She stated after eating she would band us. So we ate dinner in the dining room instead of outside. The waitress was not good...our cocktails /drinks were empty and she rarely checked back with us. Meat was cooked wrong which isn't her fault. The four of us had dinner and drinks and went to get our braclets. The woman lied and said she didn't say that. The hostess stated she didn't either on the phone . I showed them the call on my phone and asked who I spoke to at that time (it was her). It was unbelievable since the four of us heard twice this was the condition. Horrible customer service. If you made a mistake saying that, own up to it. Don't lie to four people who heard twice the same thing. A four year old would own up to their mistakes more. The reality is you lost another $150 of business and we will never return. read more

The food is pretty good, we knew that is pretty much fried foods at a walk up service area and we were pleasantly surprised when we ordered, they gave us a number and they brought it out. Would like to give this place 0 stars. Took someone here for their birthday. No one waits on you, you have to order at a window. Their drink sign said Gatorade, Izze, and Arnold Palmer, among others. Upon trying to order all 3, they said they didn't have any of them. Then change your drink sign. I ordered fried shrimp and fries and the shrimp was not cleaned at all- the waste was clearly visible on their backs and really grossed me out. The fries were VERY salty, and the tartar sauce was not good. Not even close to worth 12$. The table was covered in dead bugs as well. Will never ever be back. read more

This is a great place to hang out and have a few drinks on the lake. One of the best times but also very busy is around the 4th of July. Ring of Fire is an awesome fireworks show!
