The food was good- just bar food but good. Our waiter was helpful and quick. They have live music frequently ( this Sunday there was a band). Not huge inside so I imagine it gets a little crazy when bigger bands are there. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but if I am in Lima, I would definitely stop in for a brew. read more

I was invited to attend a concert at Fanatics in Lima, NY, to see the Jazz group, The Howard Levy 4. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted very warmly by Norm and a few other regular customers. We arrived early to have a meal. We had chicken wings, two "garbage plates, and the beef and cheddar sandwich. We were all very pleased with our meals, which arrived timely and hot. The bar provides top shelf drinks as well. The live music is played in the back where there is ample seating. To see the bands, you buy tickets and have assigned seating. You can also order food and drinks in here as well. My husband the fried zucchini with ranch, which he enjoyed. I opted for the decadent and very sweet, snicker peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate. This was my first time at Fanatic's and it went like this...First off there's plenty of off street parking and easy entrance with a ramp inside for the impaired folks...Now on to the food...I ordered a chicken finger and fries meal and a IPA beer on tap...The beer arrived cold as ice and then the food...Well the chicken fingers were okay I guess, although nothing more than frozen bagged stuff...The sauce was also just okay, like many other pubs...The fries were very dark and oily...The room was cozy with a sort of old school vibe of years gone by...The walls adorned with various acts who have graced the stage over the years...The bill for chicken fingers and two IPA's + tax + tip was around $35.00 give or take...All in all not a bad place for a meal, but nothing I'm rushing back for anytime soon...Give em a try for yourself whenever you're in Lima NY. read more

Wouldn't kick out disruptive patrons. Recently went here to see my favorite band, The Cold Stares. I love them! But there were three tables surrounding us that were all one party and talked and even shouted over the music to each other. They wouldn't stop and when I complained to mgmt they claimed they couldn't kick them out because there were too many of them. One guy was even pinching and slapping other people on the butt. It was disturbing to say the least. Hot take: You can kick out that many people but you chose not to. You chose to have your establishment favor rowdy disruptive patrons over people who paid to be there to see the band. Couldn't hear the band or concentrate on the songs, mostly heard them. read more

Walking in, we were greeted with a warm friendly smile from Tara our bartender. She was efficient, knowledgeable and attentive. After spending only a few hours here, it was evident that this is the kind of establishment that makes everyone feel welcome. Regulars were greeted by name and everyone entering was happy to spend a few hours enjoying some refreshing pints, delicious food and the company of people who very much felt like that were at a home away from home. Big screen tvs were available to watch games along with quick draw for those looking to gamble a bit! Fanatics is not accepting the coupons in the SaveAround book and claim they didn't authorize their restaurant being in the book. I contacted SaveAround and they actually have a LEGAL, SIGNED agreement for Fanatics and stated Fanatics should be honoring the coupons per this agreement. read more

Stopped for a Fish Fry on a Friday afternoon. Since I don't get to this area of the country much anymore, I make it a point to get a good Beer Battered Haddock Fish Fry, one that hangs off the ends of the plates, every time I visit the area, and it's a Friday. Fanatics did not disappoint in that regard. Let's keep in mind, this is an unpretentious bar/pizza parlor that offers a full menu, and on Fridays, also offers that delicious fish! By no means is this fish fry "bar food," do not make that mistake. Lottery tickets are also sold here along with what seems like a legal gambling service. There are a few places in the area that do a better fish fry, but regardless, I am a fan. The place isn't perfect, it's not the best of the best IMHO, it's worth a visit. It's got that sports bar/ country tavern/ Irish pub kinda vibe! We went for "Open Mic night" which happens, usually, 2 Mondays a month. The room gets pretty "cozy" because the place is small and fills up quickly, but we still found seats. No fancy decor. Last night there were guitar players, a variety of styles, some harmonica, some cover tunes and even some pretty good original tunes. Really, anyone is welcome to sign up on the clipboard to play 2 songs. It's a warm and friendly place and everyone gets a warm reception. George does a great job managing Open Mic, and the bartender was awesome (I don't know how she managed solo with such a crowd). Nice selection of draft beers, $6.25 a beer. We had Shock Top, Young Lion IPA and The Kind IPA. Not much variety in wine, but beer goes better with fresh cut homemade fries anyway (delish!). Worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. My wife and I are lifelong residents of Lima and decided to try this restaurant. The hostess seated us at the bar table section since the private party in the back room was reserved. We were sit at a table with menus and we sat there 15-20 minutes and no service. If you enjoy thin crust pizza or pizza where the toppings outweigh the crust look no further. Many specialty pizzas and now in two sizes. A casual bar and dining area and frequent live music make this a destination in this small town. If I'm within 50 miles and craving quality pizza I will make the trip. read more
