Came here for wing special with my mother. Rude lady took our order older lady chopped mullet? (Just to explain who) vibes already off because of the TRUMP signs soon as you arrive but I still showed up. Sitting there waiting for our order of 30 minutes.... Which wasn't the problem. I even got a drink. There was a joke from a customer to the chefs.... And customer says, "before I have to call ICE in here" THE ENTIRE STAFF IN EAR SHOT LAUGHED. I was the only minority at the bar near chefs. Weird vibes. That was crazy. Wings alright. 1st time in. will be last. read more

Their health rating. Place needs a clean up. I heard one of the cooks complaining that sewer constantly backs up its so old.

We have visited a few times-great place to watch a game! Has always been a little crowded and noisy but the vibes are good, staff very pleasant and attentive. Food is good across the board, the wings are excellent- and I've had them all from here to buffalo! The hot is actually hot, they are not playing ;) read more

I came because the weekly specials., but they change weekly. Anyway, I decided to stay have a drink and eat. The crowd was older and family oriented and regulars. I sat at the Counter in front of the grill, and was fascinated by the foods coming out of it. I opted for one of the specials of the day: Shrimp Scampi with Angel Hair Pasta. Delicious! I need to come often and try their Burgers. Service was very nice. read more

They have the Best wings in the ROC. I have never had a bad meal. Great deals and i do love the owner very nice man

Went back again last night with a big group of friends! $6 pitchers and 0.80 cent wings were a hit. The wings were crispy and great. Our server was new, in training, but very nice! The burger was a little bit dry/tough, but the fries were good! read more

We stopped in Friday night, four people. Place was full to capacity. Asked a nice lady for a table, had no reservation. She said that it would be at least 90 minutes, but check the other side, as those are first come, first serve. Well everything was filled. We were plotting our never move when the owner came up to us. He asked us to hold on for a minute. When he came back he said we could have a table in fifteen minutes. So we went to the bar for drinks, and within 2 minutes he had a table ready for us. Also our server was friendly and efficient. And the food was very good. We will be back (with a reservation). read more

Good food and very friendly place I enjoyed playing pool and darts friends and family. We go every Wednesday night

I love this place I've been going here since 1980 till present, the food is amazing best burgers ever and I feel they have great wings service and hospitality are second to none. If you want the feel of a real home town Irish pub I recommend it too all. read more

Had to call like 5 times to get someone very rude. Not an auspicious opening. I was asking about reservations and the woman on the phone was very annoyed at having to check and seemed to enjoy telling me they were full for daring to call and ask. Can't recommend based on that type of employee. read more

We enjoyed our lunch. Waitress was pleasant, and moving faster than any normal human. Just know to seat yourself, it's a large restaurant/bar, and she's everywhere, she will find you. Food was very good, beer selection is large and not expensive. read more

Burgers done on a flame grill, really the best! Wings and a lot of beer choices with friendly servers and bartenders and sports on the TV can't get better. Then they throw in specials and an outdoor area, wow this is living! read more

First of all 90% of the time the food is excellent. Unfortunately tonight it was not. We waited over an hour for our food. The steak was cooked the way I ordered it but cold, lobster was cooked perfectly but cold as was the corn and the rice. My friend ordered chicken BBQ and it was not only cold but also dried out. Our waitress was fairly new and appeared overwhelmed. Shame on them for throwing her into working one of the busiest nights. If I ever order anything again I would order and pick up. Not wroth the frustration of dealing with going there for dinner. read more

Bottom line - decent food and rock bottom beer prices. I cannot remember a place with such cheap beer especially by the pitcher. Most are $6 and even some of the fancier beers are only $8/ pitcher! We went here with friends on a recent Friday after they had rediscovered this place from the olden days and were enthusiastic about the beer prices. This is a basic Irish/ blue collar bar. We did eat dinner here - a few ordered the fish fry which looked good but it was breaded not beer battered my preference. They said it was good. The beans and greens were deemed a success and my lasagne was huge and pretty good (could have used a bit more sauce). I am guessing their bar standards like wings and burgers are pretty solid. Maybe next time.... read more

My friends (regular customers) were spoken to and treated with unacceptable rudeness and told that they stayed too long at their table-- despite the fect that the food was glacially slow in arriving . In the future, I'll patronize a restaurant that respecs its clientele. read more

Attended a birthday party here. I always heard they had great wings and great prices on beer. Both were absolutely true! We had 3 types of wings- Buffalo medium, garlic parmesan and Cajun BBQ- all were excellent but I liked the Cajun the best. The 2 waitresses were very friendly. A pint of 3 Heads "The Kind" are $3.00- pitchers are $8.00. Can't beat that! Great selection, too. Will definitely be back! read more

Order two chicken sandwiches, two ice teas and the bill came to 52 dollars - och! they now charge extra when you want lettuce, mayo and tomato on the sandwich - never heard of charging extra for a condiment. The waitress we had named Carey was really a great server. She was so attentive to our table at surprisingly how busy they were too. She was great. The food was alright for bar/tavern food. I got the tavern trip with fried mushrooms, fried zucchini, and mozzarella sticks and a side of 10 wings with country sweet sauce. That was all ok. The drinks were pretty good too. read more

Romig's Tavern - Bars Near Me - Rochester, New York

Romig's is so fantastic. I can see why it's been around for a bazillion years. It's divey - but that's part of the Rochester charm ;) The prices are out of this world fantastic and the food...best bar food around. Pay $5 for a pitcher of Labbatt Blue, $4 for a pitcher of Genny Bock, and anywhere else, that would be around $8-$9. I love the atmosphere and the bartenders are very attentive. I've never had a problem with the food; I actually really enjoy it. Even when it is PACKED; the food always arrives pretty quickly and it's steaming. The wings are HUGE and awesomely sauced...and priced so fair. I'm also a huge fan of their onion rings, fries, open faced turkey sandwiches, and unlimited pasta nights. Romig's is Rochester staple (and a Raiders bar...go Patriots ha!) and I can see why they have been around for so many years. Prices can't be beat and the food is great. A great visit for a good time without shelling out $70! If you're visiting, you have to stop by! read more

Romig's Tavern - Having some drinks at Romig's! - Bars Near Me - Rochester, New York

A divey dark small bar that has amazing bar food. Pretty sure it's a one man show that makes all the food here. The cook has been working here for years. I have not had a huge selection of plates in my life, but the ones i have had from here are top notch. Bartenders are friendly, fast and make a strong one. So if you are looking for a place to go and to throw a bunch back and eat some bar foods come here. I ordered a white hot plate w a side of potato salad.. Which was amazing! read more

Unparalleled. Even before my experience last night I was quite taken by this place. A friend of mine had mentioned that they have something called a "Trash wrap", and being a garbage plate lover I had to make sure I wasn't missing out on any Rochester treasures. A few months back I ventured out to try it and have been in love ever since. The trash wrap is incredible. Do you remember when you had that garbage plate that was painstakingly and lovingly made? Me either. The trash wrap comes with a side of pride and smothered in love. It's utterly delicious. If you have not tried one, you must. Last night it went to a whole new level. TGE, as we fondly refer to the night before Thanksgiving, is a night we historically go out or throw a party and enjoy life. Romigs had a Thanksgiving special meal of turkey with ALL the fixings for 4.95. Unbeatable right?! Well, we were sitting at the table debating on that or a trash wrap (the goto now) when we thought about the thanksgiving wrap! Take all the goods and make a wrap with the same concept as the trash wrap but use all the turkey day goods! All excited about the idea we told the waitress about it (like it was this great new idea or something) and she said "yeah, we've been doing that all night". Happy that great minds think alike we ordered four. It was ridiculous. I have never eaten anything like it in my life. It came with gravy to dip it in. Forget spreading all that stuff out on a plate and thinking you are creating a smorgasbord of love. Take all that deliciousness and stuff it in a wrap then deep fry it. The result? No going back. My thanksgiving meal today will be good, but it will forever be minor league to my new Thanksgiving love, the Thanksgiving Trash Wrap. Did I mention beer prices? I better not, your head might implode at the surprise of it all. Thank you, Romigs. My life is better because of you. read more

Romig's Tavern - Bars Near Me - Rochester, New York

"Straight out of central casting" was my first thought. Imagine if you're watching a movie where a character walks into a small town dive bar- that's the feel walking into Romig's. We went for a birthday party on a Tuesday night and I didn't know what to expect walking in. The bar fills 4-5 storefronts in what seems to be a former strip mall and the first 3/4's of the bar seems to be an Irish pub/ college bar style place while the last 1/4 at the end looks like a VFW hall where you would go for bingo or a fish fry. We were surprised to find out that all pitchers, no matter what type were $5 on Tuesday, and after looking at the beer list we noticed that the most expensive pitcher was $7 on a normal day! We are used to paying $5 for a can of beer and $6 for a pint. Some of the $5 pitchers were double IPA's which would run you $6 for a 10 oz glass only 5 miles closer to the city center. There is quick draw and a scratch off machine for your lotto needs. There were a few bartenders working and the girl who waited on us was great. We didn't eat on this trip but some friends did. The menu is a typical bar food type menu with a few extra items. People in our group had the taco special and a pulled pork sandwich and both enjoyed them very much. read more

So it started off with the bartender being rude, took 2 hours to get our wings and the owner has ZERO respect for individuals. I've loved going here up until recently. I am a waitress and understand the pressure of customer volume but am never disrespectful or rude. Our wings took 2 hours with no explanation. Tried hard to move past it considering I used to love this place. We sat down with friends in the dining room and noticed the OWNER yelling at a man in the women's bathroom. Mind you these are private bathrooms, no stalls, locks on the doors, who cares right? Never will I spend my money here again. Who as a business owner takes the time 5o kick someone out of a locked door, private restroom? 2 hours, for wings? And a rude owner? read more

Very cool place. Never have had a bad experience here. It's within walking distance of our house which is pretty convenient. I ordered a pitcher of big ditch excavator and the keg was almost out Only enough for a half pitcher Which I got for a couple bucks! Yayy!! We ordered Taylor tots and they were out as soon as we ordered them. Like before we got our drinks. That's crazy. Our server Emily was very helpful fast and friendly. She even played along with our little jokes at our table. As long as I can stumble home from here I will keep coming back. read more

We went to Romig's for my daughters birthday. They have great prices on beer and lots to choose from for drinks and dinner. I opted for the spinach salad for dinner-grilled chicken on baby spinach with red onions, strawberries and oranges, blue cheese crumbles, bacon and candied walnuts. Poppy seed dressing topped it. All for $10.00 and the portion was huge and delicious. Now I would have given them a full five stars but the beer list was disappointing. There were plenty of options but our first 3 choices weren't available. We really were in the mood for pumpkin beer. Maybe next time! They have daily specials too. Something for everyone. read more

My wife and I stopped into Romig's Tavern for the first time. A small, but nice outdoor seating area sits into the parking lot. It's surrounded by a shiny green-painted wooden fence. I don't know what the color is actually called, but I vote for "Happy Green." Somehow, that perfectly describes it. There are two sections inside. One is a friendly bar atmosphere with some tables. The other is a dining area. When we arrived, there was a multi-generational family of eight enjoying their dinner and laughing. Two separate couples were ordering. We both had a bacon cheeseburger. I asked for mozzarella cheese and roasted red peppers. A basket of fries and two glasses of white zin completed the order. Our burgers were delicious. The onion rings were the fat ones made from real onion slices. The breading was crisp and nicely seasoned. Our waitress seemed like an old friend. In all, it was a delightful dinner, and I highly recommend stopping in to check it out. read more

YOU EARN A NEGATIVE, IF I COULD....As.hole owner telling me to get the f. out because I called out the girl working the register for quick draw. She took one hundred dollar from winnings and I wanted answers and my money. I just had a pitcher delivered and large order of food cooking and all paid for. I told him I was not going anywhere. Threatened me he was gonna call the cops and kept telling me to get the fu k out!! Just about in my face and seriously I thought he was going to punch me from across the bar. Everyone was looking. Very embarrassing. Never got my money that was owed to me, come to find out ...the girl running the quick draw register, was his daugther....go figure. NEVER USE TO BE LIKE THAT IN ROMIGS. Two brothers owned it, ran it, and was respectful to his patrons and employees. I was going in there for over 35 years. I WONT LET THE FAT COWARD OWER INTIMINATE ME. I wont ever be back and I hope others read and share this. FYI, WATCH YOUR MONEY ON THE BAR AS WELL AS THE CHANGE YOU GET BACK...THEY ARE CROOKS. Especially when they think you are quite druck and try to get away with it and then when they are called out, they act as stupid as they look. LOOSER OWER....matter of time this place will have no one going there. KEEp Up THE GOOD WORK! oH....food took forever, cold and over priced. Good choice of beer though.. Updating from a 3 Star to a 4 star review after having a wonderful time last night at Romigs! Our server Emily was AMAZING! She was attentive and brought us round after round quickly and was fun to interact with. She made the night great! The fried zucchini was great, and the basket of tator tots was good too! She recommended shots as well. Great asset to this business! Even though it was busy due to a high school reunion, we never felt ignored or neglected. Food and drinks were Stellar last night. Ever since the new pompous ass took over, customers are dropping like flies. I have been coming here for 35 years, I stopped in to see some friends that were watching a ballgame, I had brought caramel corn from Old Forge for one of them, they had already had food and beers, and the owner had the audacity to tell me not to bring food into a restaurant. It was a gift for God's sake, it wasn't a garbage plate from Nicks. He ended up getting in my face, and telling me never to come back, no worries A hole.
