Get there early because seating is limited, when we went it was to cold for outdoor seating. It's order and pay at the counter then they deliver the goods. The new owners have killed this place. We used to go on Fridays happy hours. They had great employees and reasonably priced food and drinks. Now the beers are $9 for basic drafts and the food is 20% higher at least The old staff was replaced by young people that barely can pour a beer and don't know the prices. We won't go again. A vast array of liquors fill the wall behind the bar meeting the needs of any cocktail request you may have in mind. Local draft beers and wine are also available. I came to watch the band Hey Mabel play and the place was jamming! A mixed crowd of millennials to baby boomers smiled and danced the night away together as this awesome band played. Had a great time at BSide. The place was packed on a Thursday night! They had live music every Wednesday - Saturday. The food was decent too for bar food! We tried the pretzel (yum) which comes with beer cheese and mustard and the chicken tenders topped with cheese and salsa. We enjoyed snacking on both. The building that B-Side inhabits has been about 20 different businesses in the past 30 years. It seems they finally found an idea that will stick. Good beer and good bands. This strip in fairport has become a prime space for bar hopping. I just wish they would repaint the side of the building neon green like it was when Hollywood Harry's was here. read more

The place was packed due to the band being crazy popular and there wasn't a lot of seating. We chose to go based on reviews and the menu. I was really excited to try the Reuben fritters. They were sold out of the reuben fritters. My husband ordered a steak and shrimp sandwich which was awesome. I ordered the veggie panini and was disappointed. The menu lists portabello mushrooms, so I was thinking I'd get a big mushroom or at least a layer of sliced mushrooms. From the pic you can see that wasn't the case. Also, no avocado The wait for food was long, I was starving, and we had somewhere to go, so I didn't complain or ask for a redo, but it was not worth 9.99. The beer selection is good and prices are great. But I don't think we'd go back again. If you love live music then this is the place to go. I was more interested in getting a good meal. read more

Try this cool new music venue/restaurant/bar in Fairport. The owner of Donnelly's opened this new business in the location of the old Blue Cactus restaurant across from the canal and Box Factory in downtown Fairport. The building has been renovated with a bar and high tops downstairs, and another bar and good sized outdoor deck upstairs, though I didnt go up there yet. I look forward to trying the deck. Interior is tastefully casual with Edison bulbs and an excellent sound system, playing a mix of interesting music. The overall vibe is casual but nice. Came here for dinner, though it looks like an excellent setup for live music or DJ, and I think that's the point. However, the food here was very good, made on the premises, shareables and handhelds. We had: Reuben fritters - definitely try these, very satisfying Mozzarella/pesto/artichoke salad over fresh spinach, big and tasty Gyro with side - very fresh, not something I usually order but would again All very good, recommended. I plan to return As I left, they were starting a beer tasting upstairs. Five stars for excellent execution for what it is. read more

We're relatively new to the area and have stumbled upon the libations-focused gems of Fairport, like the Fairport Brewing Company and Iron Smoke Distillery. We were certain, however, that COVID and the canal bridge closing had taken its toll on any establishment resembling a restaurant in this quaint community - until we found B-Side. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Eclectic eats in good portion and fairly priced, plus creative drinks, plus entertainment, and ALL COVID SAFE. We finally felt a degree of normalcy return to our social lives. Even if we don't return for a night out, we will take advantage of their curbside/take-out. read more

We've had countless positive experiences at the Fairport B-Side but tonight the bartender charged us for two drinks we did not order and the server called me a moron for questioning our bill. I can't imagine a circumstance where calling anyone a moron is appropriate. It's unfortunate because it is a great place but the employees are free to act inappropriately and that will impact our future choices when we consider where to spend out money. read more

I get it's covid, you can run your business how you want, but you have a bar full of paying customers and you last call 1015 on a Friday..... You ask for last call... and then only serve half the group the last call.... And then awkwardly never serve the rest of the group..... Just a slightly odd bar/restaurant.... A nice music oriented venue. Friendly service. We went there for dinner and to see/hear a local blues legend ( Joe Beard ! ). We spilt an app of Ruben fritters, really enjoyed them. My lady had a Meatball ciabatta and I had a West Coast burger. Both entrees were very good. As we were seated in the bar side, it was difficult to hear the band well. I'm mobility limited so we opted to stay in our seats rather then stand in the stage side. Recommend this place but if you want a seat get there early. Seating is very limited. read more

I bookmarked this place a while back when I first moved to East Roc but didn't get around to visiting until now. I took a friend for a drink and the live music, and we were not quite sure what to expect as you're never quite sure what you're going to get with this type of venue. However, I think with B-Side you can be pretty certain you're going to get something great. The bar has a nice selection of beer and liquors. Their menu also sounds amazing, we didn't get to try any of the food on thus visit but I've already made plans to return and will update my review accordingly. Staff seemed very attentive, waitress came over a few times to see if we needed anything and to refill drinks. Place was very clean for a bar. Band was great. A tip, volume was turned way up which is great if you're there to enjoy the music but not so great for conversation. The building is small and seating is limited. Most of the tables are in the room with the stage (which makes sense), but there are a few tables over in the bar area if you wanted to be a little more distant from the band. Basically, I had a great experience at the B-Side and I'm definitely coming back. read more

Not a single person who works here has an idea what customer service is. I stood at the bar downstairs with a card in my hand ... no response. Servers just stood around and talked to their friends. Signs point to go upstairs for food or drink so I tried. Not a single server upstairs. Who runs this place?? My dog could do a better job. read more

If you're looking for something besides the usual parade of open mics and classic rock covers on offer in Fairport, the B-Side is shaping up to be a great alternative. Both live acts I've seen here--a blues trio and a rock outfit--have been great musicians with a fun setlist. On Tuesdays it's DJ night, and the guy spinning tonight had a killer catalogue of rare British blues. Bonus: the place has a unique roster of bar food (Reuben balls are monstrously good). I've been hoping for a live music option like this to open in Fairport for a while--unfamiliar tunes from solid bands in a modern, casual venue. read more

First time here. The staff was mostly slow and seemed a bit lost, save one dude who was not our server but checked on us regularly, let us know the hold up was a large party upstairs and brought us some free chips and salsa for the wait. The margarita I got was probably the worst I've ever had-very watery and flavorless. BUT, all that aside, the food was outstanding. Chips were fresh and salty, salsa had a nice kick. We got the buffalo chicken egg rolls for an app and they seemed homemade-flavorful, moist, crispy and not greasy. Both our dinners were great too. My husband got the stout braised shredded beef sandwich and I got the burger special-which was topped with truffled mashed potatoes, white cheddar cheese and mushrooms/onions swimming in a burgundy gravy. The fries with both our sandwiches were some of the best we've had, seasoned and crispy, can't wait to come back and try them with the poutine. The new place looks good, but is struggling to find it's feet. My wife and I decided to go hear some music, a band from Buffalo area, arriving a little early. Almost nobody in the place, maybe a dozen people. Kitchen staff wandered around with nothing really to do. Wine by the glass was expensive, given the quality and quantity of the pour. Unfortunately, the service seemed lackluster, given the few tables that were in use. Spoke to the manager as we left; he seemed eager to fix things, and we may try again. All the other places in Fairport were hopping with crowds and some with music, so they need to up their game if they hope to survive. Wishing them luck, but they need to work harder to attract and keep customers. read more

I've been to B-Side many times to see bands and enjoy some drinks with friends/family. Last weekend I rented the upstairs room for a private party of about 30 people. The service was outstanding and everyone was very accommodating. Own bar service and gender neutral bathroom. If it had been later in the year we'd have made better use of the patio which easily doubles the available space. Will definitely book another event again! read more

I miss the old hours from the previous owners (bar changed owners in 2020). We liked to stop in to see bands after dinner from 8-11, but it looks like the bands now start at 6 or 7. Band lineup looks more mellow than before. I will keep checking back as hours keep changing everywhere as more things open up. Also, the bartenders aren't as friendly as they are at other bars in the village. read more

I have been to this restaurant/bar 3 times. It's a really really nice space and they host great music nights. However, I took off 2 stars because the service is consistently TERRIBLE. I'm talking servers sitting at tables with friends, then going outside to smoke while we are still sitting and waiting for another drink. I think it may just be that they need to do some hiring because there are only ever 2 servers working the whole restaurant. It was especially bad this past Saturday. There was a band performing and I was with a few people. Because of COVID guidelines, we were at 2 tables. The server came and took the orders of the other table in our group and then never came back to take our orders. It took about an hour to get our food and by the time it came, our friends were done eating. In fact, my friend who ordered a cheeseburger never even got his meal. There was no acknowledgement of the missing order. So, if you go here, go when there's music. I always enjoy their food but the service needs A LOT of work. read more
