As a (previously) frequent patron of the establishment, the owners and on site manager lacked attention and compassion when dealing with the violent/ threatening, sexual/ lewd, and repeating behaviors of another customer/patron. As myself, I attempted to communicate with the owners/ manager with concern for the safety of myself, my friends and the elderly/ families that enjoy their time there. None of my pleas were heard, considered or respected. The manager literally yelled at me and charged me $30 for chicken wings and a ginger beer. He then lost the video footage of the incident. The owner supports them. This is not an establishment I would support any further. Go find good food and music somewhere else... there's so many choices here in Rochester!! read more

Anne was our server and she was tremendous! I had never been here and Friday night there was a Grateful Dead tribute band playing, which gave out great vibes. My family of 4 came for dinner this evening. I was disappointed to see they did not have a kids menu. I was also disappointed in the portion size of the appetizer. We ordered crispy banana peppers. The taste was good, however foe an $11 price tag i was expecting much more. My kids split wings, my husband had wings, and I ordered a burger. The wings seemed small in size considering the wing recommendation the pub comes with and my burger was raw. I waited about 6 mins for the waitress to come back before she checked to see how everything was, I hadn't tasted the burger at the point because I was still waiting for mustard. Once I got the mustard I had to wait about another 7 minutes because she came back to check about the burger when she noticed it was raw and took it away. I ordered French oinion soup to replace the burger, waited a bit for that to come, once it did it tasted burnt and I could not eat it. I haven't been here since before Covid and they were on Titus Ave. It was family night for a fish fry. I remember them having the best fish fry's. We got 4 orders with fries and coleslaw. The fish fry's and fries were very good. The fish was a good size and very crispy which I really like. The fries were good. The coleslaw was terrible. Idk what they did to it but we couldn't eat it. Non of us ate it it was that bad. It sucks but I won't be going back for their fish fry just because of the bad coleslaw. We also ordered a appetizer of potato skins with was very good. This is my second time here. The first time I ordered chicken wings and they were good but i decided to go a second time and ordered their Fish fry and it was a total disaster. The customer service was good and the waitress felt bad that I didn't like their food and she apologized multiple times. I ordered the loaded nachos with steak for appetizer and it was loaded alright with grease and the nachos were soggy. I ordered the fish fry and it was disgusting. The fish was not fresh and had no flavor at all, didn't even taste like fish. The environment was extremely loud, there was a large group of intoxicated people seating next to my table and they were giving me a headache, they were not having a conversation but they were screaming at each other. I don't recommend this place at all! But if you do go just order the chiken wings. read more

For those who dont know, Murphs Pub, Irondequoits living room, moved to Herrema's plaza on Stutson street at the Genesee River. Outstanding execution of bar food favorites - really good food. They are an Irondequoit institution. Bonus: they have a great band program with good music in a casual and intimate setting like something youd find in Nashville. By that i dont mean that its a country bar (its not) but theres a genuineness to the music and setting you dont often find. Recomended. read more

I love Murph's, it's the perfect "townie"/ neighborhood bar. The wings are on point (and on special Mondays and Saturdays), they have a cool mix of dry rubs and sauces. And wing deals on Monday for football and Saturday for a night out?? Can't beat it! Live music is pretty common here, especially on the weekend, and the sound acoustics are surprisingly decent. There are bar games, friendly staff, drinks are cheap, they've got booths to sit in and table service... all of which are things I LOVE in a bar. It's a very unassuming building inside and out but, it's a gem. There's plenty of parking around the entire building also. I just seriously love Murph's and suggest that everyone should check it out, especially on wing nights. read more

I usually have the garlic/parm wings, since they are among the very best in the city. You can even mix wing toppings in one order. Anyhow, this review isn't about Murph's fantastic wings. Getting a little wild and crazy, I decided to forgo my wings and order a burger. That seems like it should be a simple thing, but NO, not at all. I usually read what's on the burgers and choose the one that makes my salivary glands tingle (yeah I know, but really, I'm not weird!). Didn't work in this case because so many of them had that effect! Not a bad problem to have! I ordered the Irish Burger. Holy cow! No, literally! It's a half pound of ground beef coveted with some heavenly sauce and a fistful of lean corned beef. Yes sir! Beef on Beef! Doesn't get better than that. The fun thing is that there was so much corned beef on it that I couldn't see the 1/2 pound burger under it all. What a feast! Not to be a pig, I ordered a salad for my side. read more

This was my first time in the "new" location. There is a big bar area and a stage area for bands to play 5 nights a week. The seating area for food is pretty small. The food was very good. The famous wings were crispy and filled with flavor. The host staff were nice and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. But I have to admit I do miss the old location because it was right down the street from my house. Definitely a great place if you're looking for a chill place to hang with your friends and eat tasty bar food. I will def be back. read more

I finally made it to their new location last night, I am so happy they have moved into the neighborhood! My other half and I arrived about 6pm and there was a healthy crowd at the bar. By the time we left about 730pm it was about 3 people deep, and it was a Thursday night! The new location has been very busy since they opened 2 weeks ago. However they seem to have enough staff working to keep up with the pace. There was a wait to get drinks, food and the bill but that should all be expected with how busy it was. Also the servers acknowledged the wait which was appreciated. They had live music and some dinner and drink specials going on for Thursday night. We ordered their wings and beer special as well as the crab cake salad. Honestly, I didn't expect the crab cake to be as good as it was, it was AWESOME. I hope to become a regular! This place came up as a bar/pub and was close to my work hotel. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. Went to the bar and wasn't treated very nice by the bartenders or patrons (I would assume they were regulars). Bartender didn't want to spend much time telling me about what they had to drink so I just said "sure" to the second or third suggestion to get it over with. The absolute worst beer?batter fish fry that I have ever had in my life. I put a question mark after beer because I can't say for sure that beer was actually in the batter. And it was mostly batter. The cole slaw wasn't very good either. A complete waste of $16. read more

We've been a handful of times. The burgers are delicious, as are their wings. The fries could be better. Definitely nothing to brag about. Their soft drinks are lacking in fizz, so we stick to water when we go. The last few times, they've had a live band, which is always a huge plus. read more

I love Murphs! The staff and the people who go to Murphs are so friendly that you feel like family when you go here. Their food is excellent. I lunch here once in a while - I usually have one of their chicken wraps but their burgers , garbage plates and most of the things on the menu are all real good but not expensive. Then there's the bar! I like to go here with some friends and listen to music - and Dan Murphy who owns the place is a great singer in his own band! We actually ended up here because we met Murph himself at a different bar (the angry goat) a night prior. We got to chatting and Murphy told us he runs another bar in town and we should come check it out. Being from out of town we figured why not? Stopped in for dinner after our shift to find a very clean, well kept, bright bar right near Lake Ontario, complete with live music. The area is spacious with lots of bar seating as well as a family dining area. We had good eats and good drinks, the bar has a good selection of local brews. The famous chicken wings lived up to their name. Really enjoyed this place, I'm sure we'll be back before we return home. A big thank you to Murph for making the recommendation! read more

I've had really bad luck with wings for awhile, pretty much gave up ever getting the perfect wing. I found myself making excuses for the places... short staffed so people are doing double duty, can't get usual product, really tight on money (all COVID related) until I got an order to go from Murph's. I have found THE. PERFECT. WING!!! I had about a 15-20 min drive home, they smelled so outrageous I was preparing myself for a wing that was once crisp and would be kinda soggy from the condensation but still had promise. I couldn't believe that they were still hot AND crispy!! JOY JOY JOY The exact right amount of sauce, perfect crunch, great size and mixture of flats and drums. Drinks and music is great but the food not so much. If you are female the female bartenders are not so great. Chicken has been overcooked to the point t you can't cut it with a knife. Broiled fish not so good. Overcooked bread with the pattymelt. After 40 minutes told me they were out of mac salad when I saw that they served people that ordered after me. read more

This place is great!! First and most important, the staff and fellow patrons make this the place to be for happy hour or for a drinks with friends! Everyone was so nice and friendly! You could tell that many of the customers were regulars as they all seemed to be enjoying one another's company. I'd go as far as to say it reminded me of Cheers! The bartender greeted us with a smile and offered to let us taste any of the beers they had on draft to make sure we were served something we enjoyed. They had a nice selection of craft brew and domestics. We decided to support a local craft brew. Pints were $6 each or pitchers were $14....easy decision there! We came here to try their "brunch" -all five items on it. Unfortunately their brunch is the breakfast food gateway to try to get you to stay and watch football and drink more alcohol. It's not a stand alone brunch, and certainly no where you'd go after church, for a birthday, or as a place to bring out of town friends to. Murph's is quite simply a neighborhood bar. The highly touted wings were lacking in sauce and half were meaty, half were not. I haven't been here for their regular menu, which is why I gave it 3 not 2. Stopped by on Tuesday for tacos and a margarita. Tacos were awesome- chicken, beef or pork. Minimum of 2 but at $2.50 each really reasonable. Margaritas were $5.00 so for $10.00 you can fill up on a budget. Corona lights were $3.00. A bargain all the way around and yummy! Great neighborhood tavern feel too! Let me start by saying that for the last year or so, i have been getting take out taco tuesday from Murphs many tuesdays and it has been fabulous. However this tues 7/19/22 and 2 tuesdays 7/5/22 it has not been fabulous. On 7/5/22 i was asked to wait about 40 min for pickup which i did, the waitress took and ran my card and said it would be another few min....fine but 20 min later she came back and said they were just packaging everything up then proceeded to go out side for a smoke break another 15 min later came back and brought out my food. Then on 7/22/20, i called and they asked if this was Lisa which they know me and i said yes and they said do you want the usual, a fish taco platter with an extra fish taco and i said yes, they said 20 min then called back and said it would be 30 min....fine. When i went to pick up my order, the guy ran my card and said it would be a few more min, so waited 10 more min they he came back out and said that the fish was still thawing and it would be awhile. I asked if i could order something else and the waitress said it would be awhile as they then had a full restaurant and didnt offer to put something right in for me as i had ordered more than an hour ago AT THIS POINT,nor did they offer a gift card for a future purchase,very disappointing and i will be calling to speak to a manager tomorrow. read more

Absolutely love this place! all the wings I've had in rochester and buffalo I vote murphs is the best! Not only r they 50 cents a wing Monday and Saturday, the flavors r great and so is the size. At duffs and anchor bar they r not nearly close in size of meat that's on the bone. The other food is pretty good as well for bar type food, also a good selection of beer. They have other specials other days as well. Open mic night on Wednesdays. I heard a rumor murphs owner might retire and not sell in the coming years which is extremely disappointing and hope it's not true, so get there fast! read more

Murph's has the best wings and chili nachos in Rochester! I've been here so many times I've lost count. The waiters are always friendly and the owner frequently greets the customers and ensures their food is to their liking. One time I attended a party in their semi-private room and we had a blast. The waitress was very kind and helpful. There's also skeeball and a pool table if you're feeling competitive after a few drinks. There have been rumors that Murph's will be shutting down within the next year or 2. If it does, I along with every irondequoitian will be devastated. read more

Went there for lunch. It was ok. The chili was all wet meat and beans no juice or broth. Just ok. I ordered the dragon Burger with dragons eye sauce. The waitress thought I meant the wings with dragons eye sauce. So I ate them they were good but not what I wanted really. I won't go back again to eat. Maybe to drink though. read more
