I have been remiss for a very long time in posting a review of Spring Valley cleaners. I've used them for years and primarily for my jeans, casual, work, clothes. They've never been great. But it would suffice for casual work clothes. I do not take items here that are expensive. However, the services have gotten even worse in the last year. The ladies at the front are very nice and always willing to redo. The items. Sometimes the items are returned a bit better and sometimes there's no difference. There is literally no concern at this location for quality of work. I'm on the search for a new dry cleaners in the Bellaire area or along I 10 between 610 and Wilcrest. The photos are just a few examples. I always have to press my clothing before I put it on. My ironing board stays up for this reason. And they've recently gone up on their prices. read more

Do NOT come here unless you want to deal with obnoxious rudeness and attitude. I brought my clothes here to wash and the suit had few cat hair on it - we have cats - and was told that they don't deal with cat hair. The tone was "we don't do that here" said repeatedly and then when I said I would go elsewhere, she walked away. When she saw that I got into my car, she then immediately came back to the register and started cleaning it with a smirk acting like a few cat hair on a suit made their place dirty or something. I recently brought in a sports coat that I use for work meetings to be dry cleaned. It was in great shape when I brought it in and when I picked it up, the collar was messed up and there was a tear in the sleeve. They said they would not fix the tear because it was the "machines fault." Very disappointed in their service. read more

I have dealt with this cleaner for years and never had an issue. Now that they ruined a shirt, I keep getting told I have to speak with a manager. This shirt was brand new and worn one time. I do not believe they have a manager. I have stopped 3 times and made numerous calls. I finally reached someone today and of course the manager is not there. I would not recommend this place. So I wanted to get my clothes back before writing up my review. Formerly Shelton Family Cleaners - Spring Valley Drycleaners continues with the same quality service. I wondered if there would be a drop off in service as a new owner was taking it over. When I first moved over to the location I tried a few different dry cleaners - most were less expensive (not considerably) but had really bad hours for me. But most important the quality of the service wasn't what I've had before so I kept looking. I've never been here and there not be a little bit of a line which I think reflects on the quality they provide. First off I want to start by stating that my family has been a customer of Spring Valley Cleaners for over 15 years. It is the only dry cleaner we have used. I've never had any issue with them until my most recent experience and I am absolutely livid at how this has been handled. I dropped off a $700 Louis Vuitton wool and silk scarf to be cleaned. It had some stains on it, I didn't assume they would come out, but figured it didn't hurt to get dry cleaned. It VERY CLEARLY on the tag of the scarf says that it needs to be dry cleaned. When I picked up the scarf, it was completely ruined and I could tell it had been put in the washing machine. The fabric is completely ruined - totally puckered and lost its silk sheen. I brought the scarf back into the store to show them the damage they had done. After speaking with Jose at the front desk, it was discovered that the employee that handled my scarf put the scarf in the washing machine because of the stains. In this case he broke protocol, instead of returning the scarf to me and saying the stains could not come out, he then put it in the washing machine and ruined the entire scarf. This has been confirmed by the employee working there. Dry clean only items are not supposed to be put in a washing machine either. It has been over a week since I dropped the scarf off with all the paperwork with how much it cost and how much it would cost to replace it and I have had no word from the owner. I have gone into the store multiple times / called and talked to Jose multiple times ... nothing. No apologies from the owner saying we will make this right. Nothing to acknowledge the fact we have been going to this dry cleaner for 15 years. I am posting this on every review website that the owner will see and make good on this error. It wasn't just any scarf, but one that had real sentimental value. But I also want other customers to be prepared that if you bring ANYTHING of value here and it comes back ruined, then you are essentially screwed. I noticed I'm not the only person with reviews like this and it seems to be the norm for the new owner to ruin people's clothes and then not take ownership of it. I will be filing claims with the Attorney General's consumer affairs, the Better Business Bureau, and small claims court. **** Update: After calling the Cleaner about every day since the initially contacting them about the scarf, the owner finally agreed to pay me $200 which is a small fraction of what it will cost to replace the scarf. I never once spoke to the owner, he never apologized or took ownership that they ruined the scarf. I wanted to wait to post this until I made sure the check cleared. PLEASE save yourself the hassle and do not go to this cleaner. I have filed many claims against them and I suggest you do too if they ruined your clothes. DO NOT drop off your clothes to this cleaners place. They are completely horrible and can't even admit that it was their fault for completely ruining these pants from a simple dry clean. These were brand new, after picking up discovered a ripped hole. I had to go back and forth 5x just to try and get money back from the owner. I stated I wanted a check for the original value of the pants and the pants itself so I can have it altered somewhere else. The owner ended up throwing the pants away. The prices have gone up a tiny bit but I think they offer the best deal around. $2.25 for each item isn't bad, in fact, I love that price. The service and quality have remained constant. And remember, in by 9 out by 5. ***Updated Review*** Alas, I will be on the hunt for a new dry cleaner. This one ruined a suit. I mean, they literally melted the detail on the skirt and jacket. The owner insisted he could fix it. Whatever. The damage is done. The quality of their work has greatly diminished. The are not cleaning clothes well. I took an off white top to be cleaned and had the lady at the front desk put tape on the neckline so it would be cleaned. When I returned to pick it up, low and behold, the tape had been removed but the dirt was still there. I pointed it out and asked for a re-do. The lady at the desk shook her head and apologized. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Good value and friendly. They clean clothes well. One time my white shirt came back stained, not sure if I brought it in with a stain or not. They redid it and got the stain out. Dry cleaning is a tough business. People seldom leave positive reviews, but are quick to leave bad ones. read more

My shirt came back with a rip in it. The real test of a business is how they respond to a problem. I took the shirt back and the counter person said she had to talk to the manager. Every time I went back it was always they need to talk to the manager. I dealt with the same person each time. They were then going to call me on Saturday but as you can guess, no phone call. Finally after 5 weeks the same person offered me a $35 store credit which really isn't going to cover a silk/cotton Polo shirt. I told them this was unacceptable so she said she need to talk to the manager. Another week goes by and the offer is now $45. Oh goodness.. where do I even begin??? This dry cleaner is the worst I've ever been too. - Claim they'll get your item to you same day and don't. There's signs all over the front that claim this! - The WORST smelling clothes when you pick them up. They literally smell like BO. I have tried keeping dryer sheets in with the clothes and that doesn't even remove the odor. - The don't know how to iron. Picked up our clothes after we were told they'd be able to have them done same day and half of the clothes weren't ironed properly. With the iron job and due to the smell we had to take them back to our regular dry cleaner to have them redone. Spent over $200 on a batch of clothes that should've been done right the first time. - customer service is horrible. We arrived at 6:03pm to pick up our clothes and they had a hand written note high on the door that stated they were closing early. The lady who works the front was up front talking to some man and was hesitant to even let us in. She is rude and not friendly. Do yourself a favor and take your clothes elsewhere! Sadly this place has gone downhill and QUICKLY!! I had been coming here off and on for a couple years until today was the final straw. The manager or owner (I'm not sure) completely went off on me today, because I asked a question. When I dropped my clothes off, the cashier accidentally put my items on the woman's ticket before mine. I specifically waited to have that changed so there would be no mix up getting my clothes picked up. Mind you, it's scorching hot in there, and this took another 15/20 minutes, but I waited with a smile. I get that mistakes happen, and the cashier that made the mistake was pleasant, so no hard feelings there. Today, I picked up my clothes to be quickly and nervously asked if two random blouses belonged to me. One did, and I was a little concerned that there were loose and unclaimed items that she was asking me about. She then brought out unwrapped clothing that she said I wasn't charged for when I prepaid, and told me I owed her more money. I asked her why they didn't call me if there was a mixup over the past few days instead of basically treating me like I stiffed them. She started yelling at me then and said "you have to pay!" At this point, I never said I wouldn't pay. I was just confused at her approach and how all these mistakes happened. Everything went left after that. Everything she said was with an attitude, and when I asked another question about the confusion over whether they were my items, she yelled, "well are you the person that dropped off the clothes or not!?" Then they came back and said that they could not do anything about it. When I challenged them they also told me (the lady) I could go somewhere else. How can some one say such a thing in the service business??? 2) They broke the buttons of my dress shirts after they were cleaned and told me it will be extra $3 each if they replaced them because the color of the buttons was black. This drycleaners is along I-10 at International Boulevard across the highway from the old cemetery on Antoine and the Katy Freeway which is definitely not located in Spring Valley. "Spring Valley Drycleaners" purchased and replaced the old Shelton Family Dry Cleaners and although half a year has passed since the acquisition, has made no improvements other than moving around one counter. This cleaners is alright for shirts as long as there are no stains on them however, I will resume taking my dry cleaning elsewhere. I will avoid this dry cleaners in the future. read more

Worst cleaners ever! Do not bring your nice clothes to these cleaners. They ruined a brand new custom made $300 men's shirt, them wouldn't return it or pay for it. Priced relatively high which is okay as I understand it is a business, but they messed up on my order multiple times and I am not okay with the level of service. 2 Months ago Spring valley dry cleaner lost the pants from one of my suits. My mom picked up my dry cleaning and did not know that it was a suit but rather just a jacket. She went back 20 minutes later to get the pants and they give her hell for not noticing that the pants was missing. They did not appologize for anything. Today I picked up some shirts from them. One of the shirts was ripped off as someone put a knife through it and decided to make a 10 inches cut. The woman told me that it was not done at their store and that I must have done it myself. Well now it is the second time that I have a problem with that cleaner and I can attest that I will never use them again. Beware that if you take your clothes there you will be treated like garbage. Poor customer service - do not do your dry cleaning at Spring Valley Drycleaners. When I dropped off the dry cleaning, I confirmed that it would be ready that day. They said my dry cleaning would be ready by 4:00 PM. I stop by around 5:00 PM to pick up my dry cleaning, and it was not ready - I needed to come back the next day. I told them that I could not come back the next day, because I was traveling out of town. The cashier said what do you want me to do? I told her that I wanted to pick up my items and get a refund. She told me that they do not do refunds. I asked to speak to the manager, and she said he is tomorrow between 11 AM - 2 PM. read more
