I like this cleaners. It's convenient for me, and the service is great. They offer same day services. Comforters are only 10 bucks. And the alterations aren't extremely expensive. I've only gone twice, and he remembered my name. Which shows that they value their customers. I saw a couple of poor reviews on here; and I don't completely know their situations. Very unpleasant and disappointing dry cleaning service. I had three coats, one pants, and a skirt and they changed me $63.49. And the stain remained! : ( I did not bother to open the plastic cover to see if others are clean, but this stain on the front coat was just so obvious as you can see. And they used rusted safety pins to hold my skirt, so my shirt now has rusty holes on it. : ( I don't understand why they put safety pins directly on my shirt when my skirt has straps instead. When I left my cloths, I could not find prices for each item on their price information board, so I was looking at it, but the lady at the counter told me that they did not list all prices on board because they base prices on the length of a garment. She sounded defensive, so I just said I was just looking at it. When I went back to pick up my cloths on last Friday (the lady told Me to come back on Friday), she said she told me to come back after 5. I was sure she did not mention 5, but even if she did, she should not repeatedly tell me "I told you. You did not pay attention. You should have paid attention." I am not her little child! : ( I made a special trip to pick them up so I was upset. It was about 2, and the other lady wanted to check if my cloths were ready earlier, but the one who was preaching me on my careless attention would not even let her go and check. She looked decided that I should be punished for not paying attention to her. : ( She could at least go and check. When I went back again, I saw the stain, but decided not to do anything about it. Standard ironing service was fine but I had one piece with a sticky residue that I made sure was clearly identified when dropped off. On pick up the pants were ironed flat with stain included. I just moved to Bellaire and called a couple of cleaners to check on prices. These guys weren't the cheapest, more in the middle, but were very friendly on the phone so I brought my stuff to be cleaned (several items of dry cleaning plus a lot of shirts to be laundered with light starch). I arrived mid-morning Saturday to drop my stuff off. Since it was after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, the guy who took my stuff said it would be ready after 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Not a problem. I show up on Monday around 6:00 p.m., and the stuff wasn't ready - the same guy said he told me it would be ready on Tuesday. When I pointed to the huge sign that says same day service, his response was customers had to ask for it. Ironically, my pickup ticket said it would be ready on Monday. I couldn't make it on Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday after work. Two of my shirts had rips in the sleeves which the counterman said was due to their faulty equipment, and I would have to speak with the manager about it. The manager was not there, and would not be there until Saturday. In order to get the rest of my clothes, I had to pay the full bill - which included the two ripped shirts as they had cleaned them. Amazing, but I didn't want to leave the rest of my stuff hostage. I arrived back at the store at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, the manager wasn't there, and I was told to come back later. I said I would be back in 30 minutes and the manager needed to be there. After running another quick errand, I went back to meet with the manager (the counterman's son, who happened to be the same person who took my order on Day one and told me it would be ready Monday). After arguing with me a bit by saying the shirts were really old, acting as if it was my fault, haggling over a price, etc. he offered store credit. You've got to be kidding: with my first experience with this company being the way it was, the last thing I wanted was store credit. Reluctantly, he wrote me a check and was pretty sullen about the whole process. It takes a long time to find a new customer and just a few moments to lose them forever. Being new to the area, I probably would have kept coming to this location for years but the lack of taking responsibility, combined with arguing with me as if their ripping my clothes is my fault, means I will never step foot in this place again nor will I ever tell anyone to take their stuff there. This review is for the tailoring services; I have not used their dry cleaning services just yet because I'm trying to put that off in an effort to make my dollars stretch further. I had four pairs of pants hemmed recently; a pretty simple job by any standards, but the lady who does the tailoring gets a higher-than-average rating for her professionalism and patience with my sweaty butt that decided walking over (rather than driving) at 3pm in the blistering early autumn Houston heat was a good idea. I had to try on all four pairs of pants because I didn't have the tailoring pins (and honestly, also lacked the good sense about where my pants hemline should fall), and it took forever in that tiny curtained room but she was totally nice and even handed me a couple of napkins after I was done to wipe my sweat away. It costs $10/pair for unlined pants and $12/pair for lined pants. (And yes, in case you are wondering I looked awesome in my new tailored pants after the job was done!) read more

Was recommended to this place by a good friend after exhausting all my options. My whole wardrobe was ruined in the flood. I thought I was going to have to throw everything out because everything was soaking wet, but my insurance company told me that I can get them cleaned. I tried several places but they were not taking in wet clothes. When I came to this store, the cashiers were very understanding and helped me take care of everything. My clothes came back looking brand new aside from a few pieces that were molded, but it was so much better than having to throw away everything. They even gave me a 10% off my entire order! I appreciate their generosity while I'm waiting for my insurance to pay me. Very grateful for their accommodations to my needs and will gladly recommend them to anyone. This place took three weeks to alter sleeve length on a men's shirt the first time Then I took another shirt for same type of alteration and when I came to pick it up on promised date they said it was not ready come back in a week. So I came back a week later and I was told that it was still not ready due to other clothes needed to be ready for graduation customers( I was pushed back for other customers that brought their clothes in after I did). I insisted on talking to manager and he said h did not want to get involved. So I asked for my shirt and they said they did not have in the store but that it was at seamstress home come back in a week. They basically would not return my shirt so as not to lose the revenue. They are sneaky and try to always downplay the damage until you leave the store and discover that they've told you less than half of the truth. Just left the cleaners. Both cashmere topcoats were returned dirty. They brushed off the dust from my husband's coat. I pointed out white spots on my coat and they took my coat to the back and wet it down and returned it to me with the nap of my cashmere coat destroyed and the white spots still on it. They took it again and wet it even more. I demanded the return of my coat and that they at least take the $14.99 charge off. My husband's cashmere jacket was returned wrinkled and they steamed it. I had a pair of suit pants that needed some mud stains near the cuff removed. When I picked up my pants not only were the stains still there, but they had also made several creases in my pants that were not there before. The lady there blamed me for the crease and when I mentioned the stains to her she said they could not remove those. When I told her that they should not have taken the job if they could complete it she got angry and yelled at me. I told her even though they ruined my pants, I did not expect them to reimburse me for them, but I should at least not have to pay for their poor job. After that she proceeded to hold my pants hostage. I finally agreed to pay and then she walked off to the back and would not help me for the next 30 minutes while the other lady at the register ignored me and continued to help other customers. This place is very UNPROFESSIONAL and the staff are rude. I've been using West U Cleaners for about 6-9 months. I thought that they were doing a decent job. However, like most things, the real sign of a good business is how they deal with problems. Upon picking up my last load of dry cleaning, they brought out a $200 Burberry shirt of mine that was covered in some dried up blue goo. There were these "stain" stickers indicating the damage that was all over the front of the shirt. There is no way that you could miss the amount of staining. Their first response was that they don't have stickers like this so this isn't from their cleaners. Then I noticed the roll on the far counter and said "what's that?". Then they crawfished and said that they did use their stickers to indicate the stains. When i told them that we, albeit briefly, went over the clothes I was bringing to them in the first place...and there were no stains at the time, they got selective memory loss again. To me, not only did they lie MULTIPLE times, but they have no honor or respect for their customers. Had they admitted the issue and offered to credit me for a couple of trips, I would have been fine. They have lost my business for good because I choose to not do business with people that are dishonest and liars. read more

I brought my $500 coat for cleaning last week. It had only been worn a few times, but there were a few stains on the on wrist which I pointed out to the old Vietnamese lady. When I picked up the coat this week, it was completely ruined. The color had changed, the fabric looked melted, and there were large gray spots all over the front and back of the coat-- cannot be worn anymore. When I pointed this out, she claimed that this was the filthy condition the coat was in when I left it. (Of course this is untrue. In fact, most reputable dry cleaners would never accept an item in that condition). Then they told me to pay the dry cleaning fee for this. I refused to pay the dry cleaning fee after they completely destroyed my $500 coat and she said that I had to leave the coat there. I told them I would take it with me as evidence. She threatened to call the police if I left without paying and then proceeded to write down the license plate from my car parked outside. It is totally appalling and unprofessional that they destroyed my $500 coat, and then threatened to call the police on me for the $15 dry cleaning fee. CONSUMER BEWARE! The service is atrocious and the staff are extremely rude. read more
