I tried this business for the first time last week! I was excited because great reviews and usually small businesses seem to care a little more. Upon going I was told one price. But clearly somewhere in the process the owner reached out to the store attendant that checked me out and also ran back camera footage, according to her, because my queen sized duvet consists of two blanket that are put together. Hence, that is what a duvet is. When I went to pick up, the attendant notified me that the new price was double the price that I was originally told because the owner said it is two queen comforters. I've never been told this about this item that i have been getting dry cleaned for 4 years at this point. I asked her why is that, because this is a duvet and she said had she known prior she would've been able to discuss that with the owner and given me a cheaper price. I'm confused as to why I wasn't even notified during the process of the price change to begin with. Because that is not what we agreed to. I am also confused with why they were unaware of what a duvet is, and this is a dry cleaning service that also takes care of household items. With all that being said, this would have been a much better experience had there been communication. Brought a suit and shirts in to clean and launder for the first time on a Thursday afternoon and they were ready Saturday AM. Good and professional work. Asked for light starch and the shirts are perfect (other places think light starch means medium stiffness, haha). Another nice thing is how friendly, prompt, and attentive the staff was during both my drop off and pick up. Prices are reasonable for the area if not cheaper than some other places I tried. Went there the first time last week and had a great experience. Paid $4.52 for 2 shirts to be laundered with medium starch. Went back to drop the SAME shirts off for the same service and was charged 4.99 per shirt. How?! They are collared work shirts. Nothing special or anything. I asked have girl at the desk why and she said that my shirt was a blouse....because it's a women shirt it's a blouse? This is the same shirt as a mans collars work shirt that they charge $2 for. Why is it 3$ more because it's a women's shirt? Found Prism cleaners down the street to do the same service for $2. Won't be back to Eagle because of the huge ripoff pricing. read more

I am a loyal customer because of two simple acts that have been done here. I have only recently moved to the area and as such, I had the typical dumb lost tourist look on my face for a bit, I asked around and was told that Eagle was my best bet for dry cleaners. By default, I take recommendations with a grain of salt, because YOUR likes, may not equate to mine. Just something I learned over the years, I guess. Anyway, so why am I a loyal customer? Act #1: I travel a lot for work, and I landed in Houston Friday and took my clothing to the cleaners and asked if he could have them ready by Saturday, he said no, but could have them ready by Monday at 7AM. Perfect, my flight did not leave until 9, so I had time. Monday morning, bright and early, my clothing was ready. Act #2: They know what heavy starch means. I always use a lot of starch, almost to the point of them being able to stand on their own. I have since washed my shirt twice and it still has the stiffness to it. The prices are great, and the owner recognizes me by name, even though my name is complicated, to say the least. Oh, and it is about a half mile walk from my place. Reasonable prices, excellent service, and I walk off the pounds to boot!! read more

After (Aziar), the nice young man always at the counter, read my review, he gave me a call on what he could do to make it right. He gave me the option of bringing it back in, so they could send it too a specialist. So I declined but was very surprised and impressed, for just the call back. I told him, I was off that day and wasn't really planning to drive that day. They have ruined 2 items of clothing of mine beyond repair. A silk shirt which they pressed on too high a heat. Took me a couple of years to try them again. This time I gave specific instructions not to press my linen jacket and the lady on the counter suggested it to be steamed and made a note to that effect. However this note was ignored and the item was pressed on a high heat and the jacket is ruined and covered in fluff. I complained (even though I knew it was pointless and they wouldn't apologize) they attempted to clean it again (also pointless) and this time it came back smelling so bad, I have to throw the item away. The smell is awful and my whole house reeks. If you have more delicate items, this is NOT the place to send your clothes. They do not care for the clothes. My husband sends his work shirts and thats probably all I would trust them with. So unbelievably upset with another item ruined and not an ounce of apology for their poor service. read more

At first I was skeptical; hey look, my people dominate the dry cleaning business in NYC and every block is 1 shirt 1 buck dry cleaners with happy ending (jk,none of that there, 1 shirt 1 buck that is,...lol, jk, no happy ending with your dry cleaning). Initially, pulling into Eagle Express, I did not have a good feeling. In an oddly arranged, packed, and small parking lot shared with the local gas/convenience store, I felt claustrophobic flanked by dozens of excessively large trucks manned by aggressive Houston drivers. Upon entering and not seeing a little Asian woman asking me "how many shirt" in Chinglish, my reticence grew even more. But, this story has a happy ending. I've been there multiple times with armfuls of dry cleaning. What have they done for me? 1. Took ink stains out of my beautiful yellow shirt that nobody else had gotten out for the past year. 2. Fixed all of my broken buttons, torn pockets, and sagging cuffs. 3. Cleaned my pants without creating the celibacy zipper effect (credit Edgar V. for naming this when your dry cleaners destroy your pants zippers). 4. Cleaned, pressed, and returned my clothes always quickly and perfectly. 5. Are damn nice and friendly about it. I'm picky about my dry cleaners. I NEED them to be good. I need that magical combination of fast, cheap, and reliable. Things started out in Houston slow. I begun by trying a number of establishments in Houston (before I had really started using yelp very much). The first place that I started using was Prism cleaners. They were fast, and they were cheap, and at first, I thought they were reliable. Well, they weren't. Prism managed to break the buttons on numerous shirts that I owned. How, I'm still not quite sure. Back to the drawing board. I managed to find Eagle Express via Houston Press' "best of" list. Now, if I had checked yelp, I'm sure I would've stumbled upon this gem a bit earlier. I must admit, when I first arrived, I was a little nervous. The place has iron bars on it for crying out loud and is attached to a very questionable gas station convenience store. How questionable? I went to get a container of milk after dropping off my dry cleaning once and, unfortunately, that milk was room temperature. Whoops! My concerns about the quality of Eagle Express proved to be unfounded, however. Now, there are a couple of things that stand out to me about Eagle Express. First, the reliability is key for me. Not once has Eagle Express lost a shirt/suit/pants, nor ruined an article of clothing. I'm sure that there are instances where this has happened for people, but after almost two years of going to Eagle Express, I'm one happy customer. Second, I have to give a shoutout to Nassar. No offense to the young lady that also works the front, but I'm always a bit happier when Nassar is there to greet me by name. The guy has a good ability to chat for just the right amount of time. He asks me how I'm doing and always seems to have a smile on his face. It makes dropping off dry cleaning when you're late to work just a little bit better. I used this cleaner for 6 months with great service and no problems. But then they lied to me and ruined my shirt and I won't go back. I brought in three shirts to be cleaned for an upcoming interview. When I went to pick them up the morning of my interview, Nasser already had the two shirts waiting for me. The exchange went something like this: "I cleaned your shirts for you, but I did not process one of them." "No problem, why is that?" He pulled my third shirt from right behind the counter. "I noticed this shirt had tears in it, so I did not process it." I inspected the shirt and found that indeed, it has three mechanical tears on the front of it, each about four inches. He claimed I brought it in like that. I don't think I did. He also said that he noticed PRIOR to processing my shirt. However, the shirt was obviously processed. So did he really notice the tears before processing, or did he tear them during processing and then later denied that he had even dealt with the shirt? There was no way to prove who tore the shirt, but there was definitely the ability to prove if he had indeed processed my shirt, which he claimed he had not. I compared the feeling of the fabrics of the two "processed" shirts and the one "unprocessed" shirt. I noted to him that they felt the same. He denied it. I then inspected the sleeves and noted that the sleeves were neatly pressed, indicating it was most likely processed. He denied it again. I had an interview to catch, so I kept things sincere and left. It wasn't until I got home later and inspected the shirt further that I realized it was obviously processed and he lied. I compared it to unwashed shirts. I noted that there was an indention for the clip where the sleeves are usually folded together when hung. There were other indications that led me beyond a shadow of a doubt the shirt had been processed. It was obviously processed that it would be absurd to claim otherwise. So, Nasser lied to my face, and when I went to confront him again, refused to apologize or offer to make things right. I would have otherwise said, "Oh man, maybe I didn't notice the tear when I brought it in," or "Maybe the fabric was getting old," and let him off the hook. But his lie was obviously in order to reject responsibility. No one can prove who tore the fabric, but we can certainly prove if the shirt was indeed processed. I swear I brought the fabric in untorn, and he swears he never processed it. Only one of those can actually be true. Cowardly organization who lost a happy, continuing customer over a $40 shirt. He could have made it right by just acknowledging that "crap happens" and all would have been good. Instead he lied and refused responsibility, and failed to apologize. Unbelievable. read more

I came here because I live in the area and had read the glowing reviews on yelp (which is why i'm reviewing now). this place is horrible. I took in a dress and a sweater, and when I came to pick them up on the day they were supposed to be ready, neither item appeared to have been cleaned at all (i.e. still dirt on the sweater cuffs, dress had stains still on it). so i asked them to reclean them both. i then went back to pick them up again, and the dress had actually been cleaned (good) but they had just bleached the sweater--which was off white--, turning it from off white to blotchy white with the original off white remaining in parts. i was pretty upset, and pointed the bleaching out, so the guy told me he'd fix it. i went back to pick it up when he said it'd be ready, but he said it wasn't finished yet. so i had to go back a fourth time (now approximately a month had passed since I'd dropped off my two things) and the sweater was still ruined. so total time to clean one sweater and one dress: 1 month. total cost: $12.50 + the cost of one ruined sweater. total times cleaners visited trying to get my stuff: four (or five, counting the original dropoff). there are a lot of cleaners in the area. i suggest you choose a different one. read more

I came here based on all the positive reviews and assurances from other reviewers that they do a good or at least decent job of dry cleaning, and boy was I surprised with what I got back. I took in several pieces of clothing in preparation for a wedding, including a custom-made dress, suit, suit pants, sweaters, and shirts. To begin with, everything came out smelling like gasoline. I'm not sure if they took it next door to the Shamrock gas station and doused everything in gasoline, but that's sure how it smells like. I'm a little shocked as to how a dry "cleaner" can call themselves that when the clothes come out smelling worse than when they were brought in, and probably doused in gasoline. In addition to that, the lining in my suit that I was planning on wearing to the wedding in a few days is now completely messed up and who knows how much time and money it will cost to get a tailor to fix it (if it's even fixable). And to top it all off, they completely ruined beyond repair my girlfriend's custom dress she had made several years ago by somehow stretching the fabric apart. I'm not even sure how they that's possible when all we asked them to do was to clean it. I would still have been upset if they had just ruined my suit and and made our other clothes smell bad, but to completely destroy beyond repair a special custom-made dress is just incomprehensible to me. The lady behind the counter was not apologetic at all and I barely got her to call the owner, Nasser. On the phone, the best he could do is say he would fix it in a few days. First of all, the wedding is in a couple of days and second, why would we trust someone who completely ruined our clothing to "fix" it? For your own sanity and the well-being of your clothes, don't go here. The prices may not be bad and they may be somewhat conveniently located next to you, but trust me, it's not worth it! read more

I wanted to love this place. It is so close to my house, and I've had some pretty good experiences. But after a couple of years overlooking multiple small issues. I switched back to my pricier, but better, MW Cleaners option close by. Eagle has gotten some serious wine stains out of a white coat and jacket ( I love white clothes, but also love red wine and friends that gesticulate wildly...) However, too many of mine and my husband's shirts have come back with cracked or missing buttons, my suits come back looking a bit too shiny (overly rigorous and hot pressing techniques), and I have a lovely wool blazer that came back with pills EVERYWHERE - something that required a lot of time to fix, and something that had never happen after many cleanings at MW. Anyway, I gave it my best, but the results were just too inconsistent to continue giving Eagle my business. read more

The only issue is that you need to un-botton your own shirts and take out collar stays or they will break your buttons and iron in collar stays leaving a inprint.
