Excellent care of clothes -- but at a very steep price. I continue to return because I feel I can trust my better pieces to their care. Not your cleaners for every day items. Great customer service and very responsive to requests. I would not recommend having alterations done there. Perhaps it's a language barrier, or difficulty of the work, but two items were not done properly and the cost was exorbitant. The cleaners proactively offered to refund half of the cost of the alteration, but I will never wear the dress--which was new. FYI, I've always considered myself to be quality, rather than price driven, but find myself sensitive to both here. read more

I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. In advance of using their services, my husband & I went to their location & asked about their different services - laundering and pressing vs dry cleaning vs "wet" dry clean/organic dry clean. We were told that they could launder & press what we wanted except if the instructions said to dry clean. We were satisfied with that & happy we had the option to do the wet/organic dry cleaning for our dry clean only items. My husband returned a couple of days later to drop off our laundry and said to launder and press what they could as previously discussed. Our items took several days, after pick up we were charged for dry cleaning for every single piece - $12.99/item. When my husband called a manager apologized that they had dry cleaned his shirts when the instruction had been provided and they refunded those fees. However they said by default they *always* dry clean women's clothes. No matter what. Even if the instructions say to launder. Despite this never been having disclosed to us when we explicitly had a conversation about these services & prices in advance. Beware of a possible bait & switch, a pink tax, & damage to your clothes because a (very pricey) laundering service won't follow instructions. My first time here and definitely my last! I feel like I was robbed. I brought in a pair of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, a shirt, 2 dresses, and a jumpsuit the total was a whopping $160!!!! There were no price breakdowns anywhere nor were the prices communicated to me prior to dropping my clothes off . Never in my life have I spent almost $200 on dry cleaning ! Not to mention some of the spots still remain on certain garments. I feel like I've been scammed and it's not like I can refuse to pay, I need my clothes. Will not be returning. Damaged Rug, Lies from the Owner, and Core Values That Mean Nothing This was by far one of the most frustrating and dishonest customer experiences I've ever had. We brought in a custom, hand woven rug to be cleaned, were never asked to sign a release of liability, and received zero warnings about any risk to the item. The rug was returned damaged, and from there, everything went downhill fast. Rahim, the owner, initially offered 30% compensation, only to later deny he ever made that offer and reduce it to 10%. He forced us to review a depreciation schedule, which showed the rug retained 75% of its value--yet he denied that too, even though his own team sent it. The story kept changing until Rahim decided not to pay anything even after admitting that they damaged the item. He did offer a $200 store credit, and even after deciding to take our items elsewhere, we were told the $200 credit still stood--only for them to call back again and revoke that too. To top it off, this business proudly displays its core values: * O - Ownership: Yet no one took responsibility for the damage, lies and the run around * A - Attitude: If dishonesty and dodging accountability are considered "professionalism," then sure * K - Knowledge: The team contradicted their own documentation and couldn't even keep their stories straight * S - Service: There was nothing "exceptional" about the way we were treated--unless you count the exceptional level of backpedaling and manipulation These values are nothing but empty words. A polished poster on the wall doesn't mean anything if your business practices are built on deception and evasion. Don't trust them with anything you care about. Ive taken several high end designer items to this place and they've done such a great job. I had bad experiences at other cleaners (one of them shrunk a brand new shirt and it was such a shame because it was money down the drain). Because of that, I was reluctant to try another one until some people on Reddit recommended this one to me. Tried them 3 times, 1st time to sew a button on a sport coat. specifically asked not to be cleaned, just a button. They charged $72 on my credit card. It was such a little thing I didn't check the receipt until later. They told me they charged for cleaning in error but could only give a store credit. 2nd time my wife took 3 blouses to have spots cleaned. They charged over $100 and the spots were not cleaned. She argued and they cut some off the price. 3rd time I had the hem on 2 shirts some casual pants repaired $75. The facility is nice, the work they do is average to below, the cost is way too high. When I brought my two dresses in I was given the price $76 total. I was under impression that the charge was final and they swiped my card. Two days later when I picked my dresses I had a charge on my amex $222. I called to question the charge and I was told that the price should have been $120 in total. This is very wrong! I've been a customer for 5 years and have always been satisfied. The price is worth the quality! Never had any issues with them losing my clothes or damaging them like I've experienced with other cleaners. I don't understand why the ratings for this place are not higher! These guys are absolutely amazing. They are one of the few establishments that use non-abrasive and non-chemical cleaners so your garments are not stripped of their original integrity. The man that cleans the garments is highly knowledgeable about all of the environmental friendly cleaners that they use and can actually break down what the chemicals do and if/how they will work on the clothing garment. This is very important to me being a biochemist. I had taken a wedding dress to be cleaned for preservation for my boss and this man worked meticulously spot treating the small flecks of mud and dirt on the hem on the dress from a Mardi Gras wedding. He was able to take years off of the dress and made it look brand new! They even call you to come inspect the dress before carefully arranging it on a bodice in the preservation box, which is acid free, another very important detail when preserving wedding dresses the only was able to describe to me. I cannot tell you how knowledgeable this man is! I was very impressed with him, blown away really that he takes such pride in his work! In short, I would highly recommend this man and his establishment to anyone and everyone. Oaks Cleaners acts high end until they destroy your shirts, then Rahim (owner) blames anything / anyone he can so he doesn't have to pay. Ruined 2 - 400$ + shirts, I had been a customer for 3-4 years. So, all cleaners ruin some clothes but atleast some like Twin oaks pay for their mistakes. I've lived in several areas of Houston, during my time here. I've changed neighborhoods, jobs, offices and other things. With those moves, I've also tried different dry cleaners but keep coming back to Oaks. Now, they are the only cleaner I will use because they consistently do excellent work and will take on problems other cleaners won't. Case in point: I spilled a bottle of red wine on a white bedspread but my "nearby" cleaners wouldn't even try to remove the stain. As a last resort, I went to Oaks. I took some slacks in to be dry cleaned with a few drops of ice cream on them. They came back with a preprinted tag to read something to the effect "we worked and worked on this stain but it could not be removed" and charged me full price. I took a damp cloth removed it when I got home and pressed them since they didn't. Another time I took a labcoat that only cost $38 and they charged $10 to launder. It is basically a long shirt. They will launder 4-5 shirts for the same price. The owner contacted me to provide me with a credit towards a future service. I appreciate this gesture and increased my rating. read more

Totally robbery! 2 basic dresses with no embellishments, sequins, buttons, etc for $50! Very upset there was no information up front that my cleaning would cost almost 3 times as much versus another place around the corner. Best dry cleaners I have found in Houston and I have been through several. A bit pricer than some of the other choices around town but they are worth it for one main reason - NO MORE BROKEN BUTTONS. I am not sure why so many other dry cleaners have consistently returned my shirts with broken buttons or even worse given me someone else's clothing. I have only had one instance of a broken button while taking my laundry to Oaks and after I pointed it out they replaced the buttons and remedied the situation immediately. They are also pro's at removing stains and returning my white business shirts in like-new condition. The staff is very friendly and they also have drop off/pick up service. I have not used the tailor services yet but I plan to in the future. read more

I stopped by oaks cleaners to drop off a jacket, shirt and a pair of jeans with a broken zipper. I'm new to town so just went to the one closest to my house. When I went to pick up the items I was charged $74 for 2 simple dry cleans and a zipper fix. When I argued the price they simply said that's what the price is and we dry cleaned your jeans (despite me not asking for this) for $24.99!!! Unbelievable... and it took 5 days.... Great job dry cleaning even though it is pricey compared to other options in the area, but the alterations was a no show. So I called in the afternoon to ask if I came by at 5:30pm that they would be able to do alterations and they confirmed. Then I show up at 5:30pm and they were shocked that I actually needed to try it on and get measured for alterations--they said that the alterations lady was not there. I initially planned to give a higher rating, based on customer service alone. However, after examining the clothes I just picked up, I will not be patronizing this shop again. The staff is courteous and professional. The prices are certainly higher than other cleaners within a one mile vicinity, however, I expected the quality of their work to justify the higher prices. Three of the items I brought in were dark and/or bright-colored blouses. I informed the attendant upon dropping the clothes off that the three had liquid food stains. Note, these were not red wine stains on a white blouse, or something similarly damaging. All three came back with a tag the stains could not be removed. One of the blouses still has the outline of a water mark from when I dropped it off. I can appreciate a tag such as the one I received if there was a truly damaging stain.
