100% would recommend Cindy's cleaners to get your wedding dress cleaned and preserved. I had 2 wedding dresses, one for my ceremony and one for my reception. One which I had cleaned and preserved, the other only cleaned. I was looking for local cleaners to clean and preserve my wedding dress after my wedding because I wasn't too sure how I would feel about shipping off my dress to a preserver (you know, the one you find when you google wedding dress preservation). Also, on top of that wanted to support local especially in these trying times. So I called around to local cleaners and was quoted at most places starting at $400+ until I called Cindy's cleaners. Cindy's cleaners was very upfront with the pricing and also provided me with the caveat that the pricing may change dependent on how much needed to be done to the dress to get it to a clean/preservable state. I paid $150+tax for the cleaning and $250+tax for the cleaning/preservation (including my veil!). Mind you the rates I paid are from 2020 and I did not have extensive damage to my dress that would require a deep clean (dresses are assessed and then charged so prices may vary depending on your situation). I dropped off my dress on 11/25/2020 and got a text message that it was ready on 12/17/2020, so the turnaround wasn't too bad. When I got my dresses back they were immaculately cleaned (the reception dress was a bit dirty and was pleasantly surprised by the cleaning) and the preservation box was really nice! They elegantly placed the gown with my veil wrapped around the front in a box that showed my dress and was then wrapped with their own cloth monogrammed cover. Also want to note that also reassured me when I was there was the fact that I saw a lot of other wedding gowns there being cleaned. That gave me a bit of confidence that they had the skills to work with bridal items (because you know that's a whole different ball game from regular clothes). read more

I think it's just a tad bit tacky and disrespectful for any business owner to communicate with a client/patron like this. Also, if you you tell a client/patron that you as a business owner are going to do something then do it! I am not too big of a fan of "the customer is always right" however, this whole interaction including when I called the business and Michael (the owner) picks up the phone and says "Hello?" should have let me know that this was not somewhere that I should want to do business. His antics continue. It's a new day, bright and early to receive a text from someone who AGREED not to do business with me. Please note the snide remarks throughout and the insults towards the end. :) read more

Cindy's Cleaners - Poor customer service skills - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Houston, Texas

The Red Dress Fiasco I was visiting during the holidays and needed to have my dress clean after wearing, my friend Suggested that they would take it along with other items they had to get dry cleaned. I was Very skeptical and was not in agreement however it took a lot of convincing and I obliged which turned out to be a disaster. Not only were 'SPECIFIC' care instructions given to the cleaning of this garment the instructions were totally ignored. Upon picking up the other items at the time that they were due obviously there was a problem with my dress that had been damaged that they did not wish to reveal. Being told that it wasn't ready was just the first sign of a problem. Since December 27, 2022 after repeated calls and a demand for answers for my garment I have been told that my dress was damaged. What angers me the most is that they could not tell me the dress was damaged and the instructions given for the dress or ignored. I would have rather have them tell me they refused to clean the dress because they were afraid of damaging the dress then to cause the damage that they did to my dress. This $650 dress is irreplaceable because it was purchased at a store that is no longer in business. I am.more than upset, with the handling and unprofessionalism during this whole ordeal. Which I still don't have my dress or have been compensated for it. But there are small claims court for a reason. I would avoid this place with all costs. read more

I bought a new suit "off of the rack" on Sunday evening. The pants were too long because Macy's does not have a manlet section for supreme gentlemen under 6'4" so they needed to be altered. I took a look at all of the yelp reviews for places that altered pants in a 5 mile radius of my office. This location of Cindy's had positive reviews and was conveniently located in the Greenway area so I brought my pants in to be altered on Monday morning. I explained to the girl behind the counter what I needed and (much more importantly) when I absolutely needed it by - I absolutely needed them wearable Friday. This was 100% the reason of purchasing said new suit and I would not have left my pants with them if they had in any way told me that my request to have the altered pants in hand on Thursday afternoon was not doable. She printed me out a little pink receipt confirming that my pick up time was Thursday @ 3pm. I had $16 ready to go to pay for the service as she said it would cost. I went back to work, marked it down on my calendar to pick up my pants on Thursday after 3pm, and life went on. I show up around 4pm on Thursday to find that my pants had not even been touched. I got a sob story from the two guys behind the counter about how the (seemingly) one and only girl that stitches things had a family problem and was neglecting work that week, namely the altering of my pants that had been promised to be done by that point in time. SO WHERE WAS MY NOTIFICATION PRIOR TO MY PICK UP TIME THAT THE PANTS WERE NOT GOING TO BE READY AS PROMISED???? Nowhere. I don't think I had unrealistic expectations. A service was bargained for with a deadline they confirmed that they could comply with. They blew the deadline with no work done. This really, really rustles my jimmies because as a lawyer, a nice suit is kind of important to have and look half-decent in. Other professions have a similar 'dress for success' kind of thing, I imagine. Instead I now look like tiny, emasculated Hapa boy who had to borrow his taller, white European father's (or boyfriend/husband's) suit for the day since it obviously doesn't look quite right with the pant length and legs all rolled up. I didn't bring my pants there to chill out for nearly a week rent-free. I brought them there to be altered and to pick them up at a point when the business said they would be ready for pick up. At that point when the altered pants were back in my possession I could put them on, wear them, and look fly for the explicit reason I spent my eurobucks on to procure the new suit in the first place from the clothiers. But instead I have pants that are still the same length as they were when they came off of the rack in the store. You had one job ... read more

I had my clothes cleaned here when I used to live in Houston. great customer service and quality of work, not much else you can ask for in a dry cleaning service. the prices are extremely reasonable. when I moved to Phoenix I was in shock at how much higher the prices are here. I have recommended this place to all my friends and family in the area. read more

My tailor recommended Cindy's...went there and haven't gone anywhere since. OK, as you know, I am a HillBilly but with sophisticated taste (you did read my profile headline, didn't you?)... translate that to "has expensive clothes but messes them up all the time eating bbq and fixing my monster truck". Hence my dependence on a great dry cleaner.... These are hard-working folks, committed to customer service. If there is ever a problem, it's been mine -- they find stains or a broken button or a seam out...BEFORE they launder it! I've gotten texts with pics of a damaged jacket with suggestions on what to do...always a quick response. They have very convenient drop off/pickup services and the clothes are always ready before I'm actually able to get to them. Solid, dependable, fast...with high quality. I'm picky about my clothes (see other recommendations) and I protect my investment in them by using Cindy's. Parking is very tight, so don't take the monster truck, use the prius! read more

We have been customers at Cindy's for many years. I thought I had reviewed, but decided was a good time to leave an update. The prices are fine, the service is great, we have only ever had one issue with a shirt and it was resolved far better than any prior cleaners we had been loyal to in the past. My favorite part: my husband's shirts and suits or my rare dress or skirt do not require "offgassing" when I bring them home! Whether laundry or dry cleaning - everything is clean, perfectly pressed (no starch, thank you), and simply has no odor. Love it! Cindy's also has the handy boxes to collect wire hangers and gladly takes them in return. Have never used bag or locker service, always zip into the tiny front lot and appreciate whomever is at the counter. Most employees have been there for years and the owner is frequently on site. I have read the negative reviews and can imagine some people have had a bad experience at an odd given time. But this is a high volume business and pretty much all the other customers we have encountered are as smiling and happy to be there as we are. (If you have been on the hunt for a forever cleaners, happy faces on customer side of counter are priceless!). Grateful to have a cleaners we appreciate and recommend!!!! Has been consistently terrific for our family. read more

I cant say enough good things about this great cleaners. When you walk in the door Juan has already pulled your order and all you do is pay and leave. Perfect condition every item and such a convenient parking lot. Please try them out and do yourself a favor and oh yes...priced right! read more

Going through all of my reviews to make some changes and this is the #1 on the list of well deserved updates. The week before the wedding my beautiful bride was to take bridal portraits with the photographer in Galveston. During these pictures, she wore the wedding dress and posed with a bouquet of red roses all over the strand. Of course, STAINS ON THE WHITE DRESS! *GASP* I know- Right. Well, after the high-end dress retailer sent her to a place that quoted her $350 minimum over the phone for the spot work on her dress without even knowing the length or size, I demanded she trust Micheal at Cindy's with this task. And off she went, dropping off both her wedding dress and her rehearsal dinner dress. She was nervous but everyone there gave their personal honor that nothing would happen and that the dress would be done in time. Micheal called me personally to tell me that the dresses were done (PERFECTLY) and to tell me that he had driven them to and from their plant personally and had the plant manager walk the garments through the process himself. How much did it all cost? $35.00 How much was all of this service worth? $400.00 read more

Cindy's is your typical neighborhood dry cleaning place with a friendly twist. The owners are hands-on and very nice, and the rest of the staff happily and enthusiastically welcomes you on the days the owners aren't around. Heck, somebody even drew a portrait of one of them that's hanging on the wall: now that's dedication to your dry cleaner. I've taken my dry cleaning here for years, and they've never lost a thing. What's more, everything is always professionally folded and packaged. They're also honest about the miracles they can and can't perform. Cindy's also does tailoring, and they'll get all those annoying pilly things off your sweater for you for a ridiculously cheap price. read more

Beyond a zero in cleaning, service, price and mainly customer service. I was overcharged, twice, and shamed when I brought it their attention. They lost a designer piece of my clothing and then yelled at me like I was bothersome because I wanted details on my lost belongings and then told me never to come back and if I did they'd refuse me service. Thank GOD a good Samaritan returned my shirt a month later because this bozo of a business owner sent me to his insurance company and never spoke to me again. I was the one who had to go and cancel the claim after my shirt was returned by a customer who wrongly received it. Poorest business skills I've witnessed in a first world country. WORST CLEANING EXPERIENCE. EVER. Save yourself from this establishment and do not patronize. read more

They damaged my suit and claimed that it was normal wear and tear. Don't go there.

HORRIBLE customer service. I would have been a new customer, but when I called to confirm they were open a gentlemen answered the line, "Hello". I thought I had the wrong number with such informality from a business, so I replied, "Hello, is this the cleaners?" The reply was, "I'm on an emergency phone call; call back", and he literally hung up. I will not try them out, nor recommend this service or lack thereof to anyone!! If the call you were on was such an emergency for you to hang up on a current or potential customer then you probably shouldn't have answered the call at all. This alone says a lot about the service a customer can expect to receive. read more

High quality & care service! Not only did Cindy's make my clothes look brand new again, they were also very understanding & flexible with making sure I got my items before leaving out of town for a business trip. Very personable & professional! read more

Wanted to give it a while before I reviewed, but simply cannot wait any longer. I use cleaners regularly and just moved to this side of town so was looking for a good cleaners. Until now, I didn't realize how great/damn near perfect a cleaners could be! I've now used them about 8 times in two months. Yes, they're a bit on the pricier side, but damn if they don't have the best all-around service in Houston! At least from the 7 or so places I've tried over the last 5 years. Depending on who you interact with, attitude might seem a bit dry/short, but get over it...their focus on getting it right every time is well worth it! Most of the time, all I experience is smiles and above and beyond service...but just be prepared is all I'm saying :-) To sum it up...if you want cheap, this isn't for you. If you don't mind paying a bit more than average and have it done right 99% of the time (I'm sure they'll make a mistake at some point?), then get yourself here now!!! read more

I'm being nice by leaving 1 star. Completely overpriced. $13+/per item is ridiculous. I tried this place due to the good ratings, however I cannot figure out how anyone could be happy with the ludicrous prices. Will never use again. read more

Appropriately priced for the area. No complaints. They did a fantastic job on fixing the zipper on a luxury bag as well as getting this chemical powder safely off of one of my new polos! read more

If you want alterations done - go to a tailor, which Cindy's Cleaners is not. THE JOB: repair a two layer seam that had opened for about 1-2 inches and then dry clean the dress. After an extensive review of all tailor-dry cleaners on yelp, I selected 3 (including Cindy's) to call. The woman on the phone quoted a fair price and seemed to know what she was talking about, so I brought the dress in. Upon arrival the man at the counter quoted me a much higher price without seeming to know anything about sewing. He also said that they could not repair the seam in house it was "too complicated and would be a send out." The woman who does the tailoring was not present to examine the article of clothing. They seem like a good dry cleaners, but I would not (and did not) trust my dress to them. read more

Cindy's Cleaners always provides top notch service, whether it is alterations, dry cleaning or repairing. They take their jobs very seriously and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Incredible! I recently moved to Houston and was checking around for a good cleaners and came across Cindy's. I've been using them for about 3 months and the customer service is top notch. Recently, I was caught in one of the flash floods here in Houston and the majority of my dress clothes were destroyed beyond repair...or so I thought. I brought them to Michael at Cindy's and he said he would try his best. After a quick turn-around Michael texted me to let me know that my clothes were ready. Clothes that had been soaking in flood water and mud and mildew for 3 days were somehow magically cleaned!!!! I couldn't believe it. Although the white dress shirts had no chance, the colored dress shirts and slacks were literally brought back from the dead. Thank you Michael to you and your team for helping me and saving my clothes! read more

My wife and I's experience with Cindy's was terrible. We recently moved into an apartment complex with lockers for pick-up dry cleaning by Cindy's. We had two dress shirts and some bedding being dry cleaned and when a Cindy's employee texted us that our order was in locker 135 we realized there was not a locker 135 at our apartment complex, but at a different one. They delivered to the wrong apartment. We drove over there and picked it up no problem, but our bedding was not with it as it would take a little longer to process which was understandable, but we had not been told that. When our bedding was delivered, they delivered to the right address this time, but the code on the locker didn't work for over a week. I left 3 voicemails on the "24/7 customer service line" and my call was never returned. I finally got someone to answer and they said they had gone over there to reset the code, and telling me in an annoyed voice she said, "I tried it 6 times and it works." No apology. Don't use Cindy's Cleaners pickup service. Terrible terrible customer service. We didn't have an old address in Houston contrary to what the owner said in his reply. read more

Thanks to other Yelp reviewers for their detailed info on this shop. We are new to town and the thought of finding a great place for my husband's shirts, etc. made me worried. We have a great place back in Columbus OH, Clothing Care. I've now used Cindy's twice to launder my husband's dress shirts. The service is excellent. Fast turnaround. Great work. Note, there is a nice discount if you prepay with cash. We frugal midwesterners dig a prepay discount! read more

I have been using Cindy's since January. Their service is fast and reliable, and I have not experienced any problems with the cleaning itself. I use their pickup and drop off service in my building, and Michael does a fantastic job taking care of my clothes. I always get a friendly text message when my clothes are ready. I have also been very happy with their rush service when I've needed it. read more

I recently moved to the area, and I've been trying out dry cleaners to see which one I'll be sticking with long-term. Cindy's does seem to be a bit pricier than some dry cleaners, but they did an excellent job with the pieces I recently dropped off there. Everything was clean and perfectly pressed. I noticed that unlike some places that use a pin or staple to attach a tag to clothing, Cindy's put a very, very tiny iron-on barcode tag inside each of my garments (in very unobtrusive locations. I definitely think this is preferable to using pins, which put holes in the fabric. Other great things: they notify by e-mail when your order is ready, and attach an itemized receipt with a listing of items (including their brand and style, plus the price for that item) to your order when picking up. read more

Cindy's picks up at my complex and they are AWESOME! We have quite a few options here and when I asked the front desk which one everyone liked best and used, she said Cindy's- no hesitation and now I know why. I have had great service from Cindy's. I tend to have a lot of stains end up on my silk shirts- really putting Cindy's to the test and all my shirts come back stain free, good as new. I also really like how personal Cindy's is- the driver texts to let me know when my clothes are dropped back off, all within a few days of them being picked up (and if I ever have an "emergency" and need something ASAP they've expressed their ability to come pick it up, doesn't even have to be one of their pick up days at my complex). All in all, Cindy's is great and I'm more than satisfied with their service! I'd highly recommend using them. read more

I went there to have 4 trousers altered. I asked the lady how much each would cost, and she said $5.99. Pretty reasonable, I thought. When i came back to pick them up she charged me $86! She denied saying $5.99! And she didn't even try to make up for her mistake by giving me any kind of discount. All they care about is seeing the $$$$. Never again. To be fair, their dry cleaning prices were reasonable and the lady was very patient with me when she was helping me with the alterations. read more

Cindy's is the best. I know I should've been did this but with so much going I forgot. However I took my all white blazer with stains from over a year ago that I wanted to wear on a upcoming cruise and I had taken it to three other cleaners before bringing it to Cindy's and not one of them could get the stains out. I was about to give up all hope before bringing in to Cindy's. I'm glad I did this not only did they get the stains out of my blazer they showed extraordinary customer service. They are very polite and very good at there job. If you have a tough stain you need out this is the place to go. They will forever have my business. read more

I tried to get my boyfriend's pants dry cleaned here. Each pair of pants was $5.99. I thought that was pretty pricey. Although they did a good job, I found another cleaner further down the street at US cleaners to be cheaper. I think it's $3.75-3.99/pants. That's a significant difference. I am not sure why some dry cleaners are A LOT more than others, especially when the chemicals all seem to be pretty toxic no matter where you go. read more

My last dry cleaners ruined my favorite white shirt. I think they washed a business card in the pocket or something. I was sad. I took it to Cindy's, told them the problem, and they cleaned it. It looked as good as new. I now have the confidence I need to go back out on the town. Cindy's will have my business from now on. Thanks, Cindy's! read more

Today I am completely sold on Cindy's. I've been going there for a couple of months. They are convenient (they have a drop box), they have fair prices, everyone is friendly, and they do a good job. Today I picked up my laundry and noticed one shirt was hung by itself. When I asked why, they said they had noticed a stain and got it out. The "stain" was a spot that had been on the shirt for two years. I had taken it to another cleaners with a spot. That cleaner put some tape on the shirt to mark the spot. They got the stain, but the residue from the tape was worse. I have been living in hotels for the two years so that shirt has only been done by professional cleaners the entire time. I gave up long ago ever getting that spot out and only wear it on Saturdays when I don't care what I wear. Cindy's saved my shirt from being a "painting" shirt after multiple attempts by dozens of other cleaners. That is the excellent service you can expect every day. read more

Cindy's really deserves 4.5 stars. They are consistently good and have never ruined my clothes (not something that I can say for other cleaners). They also pick up and deliver which is a time saver. Probably - but they are worth it. read more

Cindy's cleaners is completely outstanding! They always go above and beyond! You can go there and get great service.

Great place! Unlike most places inside the loop, this place knows the definition of customer service. When a button is broken at other places, they just blame you. At Cindy's, they replace it. It isn't a that hard, but most businesses take the easy route instead of doing what's best for the customer. Great prices and a good attitude. I recommend them to everyone. read more
