I have been bringing my work coat here for awhile now. For some reason I manage to get coffee in the weirdest places.... I blame my coworkers for spilling coffee on my butt since I can't figure out how to I could possibly do that.... Anyhow, the nice lady behind the counter takes note of all the coffee stains on my jacket when I bring it in and MAGICALLY they're all gone when I pick it up! Dry cleaning my coat is less than $5 and I have the choice of starch or no starch. Pretty nice! I've tried both and I prefer the starch. Since the lady always does a quality job on my coat, I entrusted her to a dress from Neimann Marcus that I bought for a wedding. I was a little nervous about bringing in the dress, but I figured since I got the dress on sale for $300, I could take the risk. As it turns out, the dress came back perfectly and it had an intricate lace looking inset and all that fancy crap - but it was dry cleaned with no problems at all. So, being that the coat and the dress only cost about $11, I'd say she's got a VERY competitive rate. The door to the place is kinda weird - I still can't figure out how to open it, but she comes to let me in as soon as I walk up. It's got a weird locking mechanism, maybe for her safety since the area is a bit industrial looking.... Anyhow, put your initial responses aside about the look and the feel of this place. I guarantee you'll be happy with your items. I'm done spending a ton of money on those other dry cleaning places near rice village. Yikes. Don'tcha hate when you spend more money on dry cleaning over the years than you did on the dress itself? If that's you, then go to Fine Cleaners. Went in the first time - lady was great very amicable and pleasant. Got a dress dry cleaned that was in pretty horrible shape and they did a decent job considering the price. Clothes came back and I didn't get a clean feel ... it felt like they just ironed ? But wasn't sure so I went back for a second try since it's 2 min from home. Second time I came in I thought to ask what their damaged items policy was and the lady looked at me like I was from Mars. Said "never in my 25 years have I heard of that". And i explained that cleaners will agree to pay 4-5x what you pay for it to get cleaned if damaged. She said she never heard that and that she was now "afraid" to touch my clothes. In front of other customers she asked me to take my clothes elsewhere. To say she was incredibly rude and unprofessional would be an understatement. I did a Yelp search for an alterations shop near me, and I came across this gem that's five minutes away from my place. So happy I did! I took my bridesmaid dress in for some alterations, and they did a great job--and they're so quick, too! My dress was ready a day sooner than they'd originally said-so it took two days- and it only cost $28 to take in the bust and waist of my dress and hem the bottom by two inches in such a short amount of time. I've paid almost twice that in the past because it was considered a rush job. They only take cash, but it keeps the costs low, so I can't complain. I'll definitely be returning! read more

Though Fine Cleaners is a long way from my home, it is not far out of my way when going to work. The positive Yelp reviews are correct on this one! I have been here a few times and each time, they were extremely polite and have done an excellent job on my dry cleaning. Two "loyal" customers were there dropping of large quantities of cleaning when I was there the first couple times. Both raved on the customer service and pricing. They were correct! Never coming back... This place is 15 min away but even though I tried it because of the good reviews it has. The male owner is very kind but the lady is not that much. The first time the shirts were so full of wrinkles I had to do them again at home. I decided to give them a second chance and asked them to use a bit more starch to see if this would make it better. This day, the place smelled so bad I had to just leave as fast as I could because I couldn't stand that smell, the whole place smelled like halitosis!! Yuck!! I regret I left the shirts this second time again. Turns out that they seemed Ok at first glance but when my husband tried one of them, we realized 3 buttons were all melted down and one of them was changed for a different kind of button and placed in the shirt with a completely different color of thread. So, thinking of coming back would be stupid. I've been here both for tailoring and for dry cleaning. The tailoring was pretty spot on, though a little more than I wanted to pay. Then again, I don't like spending money on tailoring, so take that comment with a grain of salt. The dry cleaning is pretty awesome, and they are conscientious about doing a good job. When I went to pick up a few items last week, the lady told me she even put one of my shirts through dry cleaning twice (even though she didn't charge for two cleanings) to try to get a lotion stain out of it. read more

Pretty disappointed. I just moved into the loop from sugar land and wanted to find a good cleaners for a reasonable price like I had in sugar land. Saw all the reviews for this place so I thought his might be the one. Took 8 shirts and 2 pants and paid just over $20. Price was great just about what I paid in sugar land unfortunately, the work was not. Both pants I took came back with stains. One pair still had pen marks from when I took them. And I'm just talking about a basic ink pen mark. My other pair of pants looks burnt at the edges. As if the iron was kept on for too long. I find this entirely unacceptable for a cleaners. In that time I've had one problem with a shirt that was fixed promptly without problem or a charge. I was looking for a quality dry cleaners near my condo in the Med Center area. Decent yelp reviews and close proximity brought me here. Let's just say you get what you pay for... What I can say is that the lady at the front desk was super nice the first time I came in and let me know that if there were any issues to simply come back and she would reclean whatever item or fix it. In reality, when I picked up my items and got home, I noticed that one of my sweaters (a $125 sweater by the way) was shriveled up and had become a fraction of the size it originally was. All of the fabric on the sweater was also matted up. To say the item was ruined would be an understatement. So, as the lady at the cleaners asked, I took the item back expecting her to refund me the money it would take to buy a new one. To be fair, I've had the sweater for two years and it was on sale at the store where I bought it so I asked only that she pay me the $60 to get one to replace it on sale. She went back and forth with me asking multiple incredulous questions like "have you washed this at home before?" And "are you sure it has shrunken?" Finally, when she realized I wasn't leaving until she offered to do something to compensate me for ruining my sweater, she took down my number in an effort to pretend she was going to "call her company" and get it fixed. That was two weeks ago and I've heard nothing back. So if you like you clothes and paid good money for them... DON'T TAKE THEM HERE! read more

Incredibly unprofessional service. The woman at the counter yelled at me about my silk shirt- saying I've washed it and ruined it- and I have never attempted to wash silk. I decided to not have her clean the shirts if she was going to be so aggressive about it, so I asked about cleaning a skirt, a dress, and two blankets. When I dropped off a color block blazer I'd never cleaned before, she took a look and feel at the fabric and said that the black may bleed into the light grey. I told her to give it a try anyway, as the blazer needed to be washed and wasn't too expensive. The next day, she gave me a call and told me she'd contacted the company (foreign), and was told the colors would bleed if dry cleaned. (Even though the tag states "Dry clean only"! Boo.) I thanked her for her extra effort and said it was okay to just leave it. I was so impressed that she contacted the manufacturer. CASH ONLY. I dropped off my clothes and returned a day later in a hurry to pick them up before an interview. Woman behind the counter then tells me they don't take credit. I looked all around the counter and store to see if there was any sign posted that said they only take cash and there was NO SIGN POSTED. Then I asked them why they didn't have a sign or tell me when I dropped off my clothes and the woman said, "everyone who comes knows." Well that's great if you're a local or a regular, but I'm visiting and OBVIOUSLY you didn't tell me. So I told her that if she would have told me that I would have gone somewhere else. Also, they sell jewelry in a display stand in the front and I find that really weird. I'm giving two stars because they actually did an okay job dry cleaning my suit and it was only 7 dollars. I didn't mind that her alterations never came out exactly how I wanted them to because the prices were fairly lower than other places in the area. I've noticed that her prices has gradually increased as her service and quality of work has decreased each time that I come back. She does not fix her mistakes. Once she has returned your clothing, it is a done deal unless you would like to pay extra. She has also returned some of my dry cleaning with missing or broken buttons without any offer of compensation. I will not be coming back. The cleaners did a fab job with my dress. My white deorderant spots were gone. I had a strange spot on the dress that was lighter but not gone. I think it's of those things where the color would be lifted if they tried to hard to get the spot out. Overall I'm pleased. The price was reasonable and so was the turnaround. I've been living in this area for 2 years, and I'm surprised I didn't come here earlier for my dry cleanings. The lady is super friendly, she made sure all my clothes are returned in perfect condition. She would ask if there are any stains, so she could attempt to remove them. One time, I brought in a romper with some loose threads that I didn't even notice until she pointed it out; she offered to sew it up for me free of charge, and needless to say, it was perfect when I picked it up. I drive from Mission Bend to the Medical Center to use this cleaners. I first started using Fine Cleaners when I lived in the area. I have tried various cleaners closer to me but they don't compare.
