Why would one take the time to review a gas station on Yelp? Well, when the gas station is as awesome as this, one would have to! It's actually California law that gas stations are required to provide free gas and water when you buy gasoline. On the rare occasions I've tried to ask for either in the LA area, the gas station attendant acts like I might as well be asking for the earth and the moon. Then midway through they'll shut it off, so I'll have to go back, they'll begrudgingly turn it on again, and I'll have to go back to my car and so on and so forth... With the employees here, it's completely the opposite! Because I wanted to use Apple Pay inside they let me fill up my tank first and then allowed me to pay for it later. Imagine doing that in LA! When I asked about air, one of the mechanics actually checked each of my tires for me and even went underneath the car to grab a valve-cap that I had dropped. And they waved us goodbye and thanked us for coming! No, thank YOU!! This station deserves ALL the Mobil awards! PS. The gas was cheaper than the other stations in the area! read more

One star, and that's being generous. This used to be a solid service station back when it was run by people who knew their jobs and cared about doing them right. Then it was taken over by the current owner, who somehow managed to fire the entire experienced crew-some with decades here-and replace them with people who can't do half the work this place advertises. Basic services that were once routine are now apparently "not something we do," which is an interesting business model for a service bay. The new staff seem confused, undertrained, and completely out of their depth. It takes real talent to ruin a business this thoroughly, but here we are. If you're remembering how good this place used to be, save yourself the disappointment. That version is long gone. read more

I was on a road trip with friends and had such a surprisingly wonderful experience at this gas station. First, this was the cleanest gas station bathroom I've ever been in. Ever. I was bracing myself before I want in, but then was in awe at how spotless it was. The attendant was a woman maybe in her 50's-60's. Based on the Yelp page, I'm thinking it was likely Lisa the owner -- she was so personable and friendly. I couldn't find the candy I wanted and she paused to search through and find it for me. I highly recommend Spring Street Mobil for their car service. We heard some high pitched screeching noise coming from the wheels of the car. We immediately found this service station and pulled in. Three of the mechanics came over immediately to see what was causing the problem. Craig immediately took a look at one of the wheels and proceeded to find a pebble that had gotten lodged in there. We were there for a total of 5 minutes for them to research the issue, find the cause and send us on our merry way. As we were leaving he even stood by our car to listen for other problems. Thankfully there were none. All this great service for NO CHARGE. Yep, for free. Many thanks to the team there and especially to Craig for the quick, friendly and helpful service. I took my car in here because the normal guy I go to didn't have any appointments available, and they were able to take me right away. The staff were friendly, and got right to it, as soon as I pulled up. They hooked it up to make sure the computer would pass (sensors, etc), and it did, but he failed me due to a non-standard air filter. My understanding was it was 100% legal, and I had the right CARB stickers, etc, but he disagreed. I took it to my normal guy, and asked him about it, and he said it was good. To their credit, spring street mobil didn't charge me for the aborted test, didn't fail me in the computer system, and was cool about the whole thing, so I don't have any ill will towards them, and if you have a "normal" vehicle, without any modifications, I think they're a viable alternative. But if you have something non-standard, IMO, this isn't the place to go. read more

The mechanics here are so nice and always help me out when needed. I had an issue with my vacuum hose and they charged me nothing to fix it really quick. I had another issue with a dead battery and quickly helped me get a replacement. I would totally recommend them if you have a quick fix. They will easily get the job done. Especially being a young girl who does not know a whole lot about cars, they could easily scam me but are instead always upfront and transparent about my car. Thank you guys! read more

I went to renew the registration for my car but it needed a smog check. I called Spring Street Mobil and made an appointment for 2:00. I was done and out by 2:15!! This gas station is family owned and they seem to treat their customers as if they are family. I've gone there more than once to have my tires or fluids checked sometimes purchasing gas and others times not and they've never charged me. I recently purchased tires there and withen a few months I had a flat. The warranty didn't cover the repair but I was not charged as I had recently purchased my tires. It's that personal touch that keeps me coming back even if they are not the least expensive it is worth it to me. read more

This place is a "blast to the past", complete with Class A Service and competitive Major Brand gasoline, the last major brand on Spring St, Paso Robles. Rigo saved the day!!! On our way up the 101, as we were headed up to the Bay Area to catch a flight, we ran over a nail and sustained big hole in our front driver-side tire. At the time, we were a solid 10 miles away from civilization. It was a Sunday, so most tire shops were closed. I called Spring Street Mobile and Rigo answered. He promised to repair our tire if at all possible. We barely made it to the Mobil station before all of the air had left the tire. Rigo was there to greet us and quickly tend to the tire. He found the hole and tried to patch it from the outside. He filled it up with air and applied a second exterior patch to be safe. Rather than send us on our way, he double and triple checked to make sure it was good. He noticed that the exterior patchwork wasn't 100% sealing, so he took the time to remove the tire and apply an interior patch. Now we are back on the road and good to go! Rigo was seriously awesome. He was very friendly and professional. If management sees this, please thank Rigo for us again and hook him up with some recognition! If not for Rigo, this would have been a terrible situation for us. Rigo, we can't thank you enough! read more

Consistently one of the cheapest Name Brand gas in Paso Robles. It's a small station, I believe around 8 pumps. Price is the same for Cash or Credit and there is a small garage here for minor car problems. I normally don't Yelp gas stations, but I thought I would spread the word for this tiny gem. read more

Spring Street Mobil "Service"? We actually do not know whether any service could be had at this establishment - we never got that far. Words cannot adequately describe the unprovoked rudeness of the bitter, surly jerk in charge here. At 7:40 am, we pulled into the open, lighted bay of the "service" center with a leaky tire that needed to be fixed. Without even looking up, the man grunted that he was doing his paperwork and he was not open until 8 am. Fair enough. After confirming the price of the service, we went to get coffee and wait until he opened. When we returned a few minutes after 8 am and pulled into the same bay, the man opened up the service window and yelled at us, "HEY! YOU CAN'T DO THAT! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED IN HERE! YOU DROVE OFF AFTER I TOLD YOU THE PRICE!" We apologized and explained that we had only gone for coffee and to wait until he opened. Red-faced with fury, he slammed the window closed and turned his back, making it crystal clear that he was refusing our business. Negative stars would be appropriate here. We added one unjustified star merely so it would be clear that we didn't forget to rate this place. We were lucky enough to find a competitor only a few blocks away (at 30th and Spring) who cheerfully and immediately fixed our tire, charged us a very reasonable price, and had us on our way in fifteen minutes. read more

This is the best gas station by far. Old world charm with a little nostalgic feel. I mean even the old charm of air and water at the gas pumps. The guys in the garage here are awesome. They do great work at reasonable prices. I have been having my smog checks done here for years. Always quick and friendly. Today they went above and beyond to help me out when my car tire somehow got shredded while I was on my way to an appointment. Pulled in here and the guys replaced the tire for me even though I had no appointment. Took about 30 mins which is more than fair considering there were others there who had appointments. Such a lifesaver!! I went to pay my car registration (3 days before it was due) and noticed I had to get a smog check. Spring St. Mobil was recommended by a couple of Facebook friends. I was travelling from San Francisco to Ventura County when my tire blew out on the 101. After changing to a spare I was directed to Spring St Mobil to have a tire installed since they were the only place open at that time of day. The customer service I received was excellent. I was directed to a great restaurant by the gentleman that was going to be putting the tire on. When I returned from dinner my car was all ready to go. Got a smog check here- had a morning appointment- they had me in and out in less than 20 minutes! They don't have a waiting area aside from a couple plastic chairs outside, but it's in the middle of town so you can walk around the block or grab some coffee and by the time you get back they're all done! The only reason I give them 4/5 stars is because I feel their staff could've been friendlier. read more
