Carillo's Automotive saved the day! when we were stranded due to mechanical issues on our way back to Los Angeles. They even provided quick, reasonably priced towing services to their shop. They diagnosed and fixed the issue right away so that we could continue our trip back to L.A the same day. Very friendly, honest and fair with his prices, you can tell he really knows what he is doing and cares about helping people out. Highly recommend them if you need a trusty mechanic. The waiting area is comfortable and pleasant. read more

Right after leaving Paso Robles to continue our trip to San Francisco, our engine light warning came on. Desperate to find a reliable and honest mechanic, we found Mr. Juan Carrillo who was very understanding who diagnosed and fixed the problem. He test drive the car before and after the repair and also found an upcoming problem that my Honda dealer has missed. He's extreme reasonable with charges. So happy and grateful that we found him on yelp and deserves 10 stars. BTW. As we head back south we're stopping again for him to do the recommended service read more

8 months ago Juan agreed to get me in on a Saturday when my camper van lost brake power traveling cross-country. I spent the night at a truck-stop worried about another van expense. He was polite, professional, and fast. I can see why he's got such a great reputation. If I'm going back through this area I will definitely have him complete other work on my vehicle. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found him. He's worth another trip to the West Coast. Thank you!! read more

We are on a road trip from out of state and smoke started coming out of my car's engine. Nothing was alerting me that there was an issue so we pulled in and even though they were busy, they took a few minutes to help us. Turned out to be a bad oil filter which was quick and easy but they definitely helped us save our trip. I cannot express my appreciation enough for their assistance! read more

Great customer service! I wouldn't trust anybody else with my car, they know what they are talking about and very helpful in every way possible. Very professional and just as a side note, the couches in the waiting room are very comfy. TV in the waiting room was perfect for my 10 month old for some entertainment. Great place overall! read more

I hope this review helps raise Carrillo Automotive's rating from a 4.5 but they deserve a 5.0 based on my experience with them these past few days. I'm well aware some mechanical problems are hard to resolve which was echoed by a nephew that I consulted with who owns an auto repair shop. I'm also aware labor costs are much higher for diagnostic work than for the actual repair of the problem. Having said that I assumed the final bill would be around $1000-$1200 as it took a fair amount of time to narrow down the problem to the vehicle's computer, then replace the computer and program it. Instead the total bill came to $688, with only a little over $300 being attributed to the cost of labor, and this was after tests were run on the battery, the starter was removed and replaced when it appeared it was the cause of my car's intermittent starting problem and the computer was installed and programmed. My car now runs like a champ. I don't live in this area but often visit family here. Now I know exactly where to take my vehicle for any repair and maintenance it might need when I come up. read more

I got a quote from Juan to replace the lock cylinder in my door. The quote was reasonable, so they did the repair. It was done on schedule, took less time than estimated and it was done at the price agreed to. Also, the repair corrected the problem. A good experience. read more

We were travelling from the SF Bay Area to LA when our AC started to act up. On a Saturday afternoon. We called Juan, and he said to stop by. He quickly pumped some refrigerant in, diagnosed an impending issue, and had us down the road again all in good order. Very professional, extremely polite and courteous. The shop working space was very, very clean and well organized. To me that's a good sign of a well run, professional shop. If we lived closer, I would rely on Juan and his crew for all my automotive needs. If you're passing through and need an honest and fair repair facility, this is the place to go. read more

Stopped in during a weekend trip to Paso after my car started making some loud noises. They were able to diagnose the issue and give us a quick, inexpensive fix in less than an hour. Highly recommend! read more

Our car broke down on a Friday afternoon while on vacation. We had the car towed to CARRILLO automotive and Juan said he would stay late on Friday to diagnose the problem. Juan from CARRILLO automotive did a major repair (replaced fuel pump) and had us back on the road in less than 24 hours. Prices were very reasonable and he took such good care of us. Thank you Juan for the great service and working through a Saturday to get our car back up and running. read more

I can only say WOW what a great mechanic Juan Carrillo is. Juan is the best in the Central Coast. He is very accommodating, professional and an exceptional mechanic. He fixed a problem on my RV that another mechanic could not figure out what was wrong with it. I highly recommend Juan to fix any vehicle if you want it done right the first time. Thank you Juan! read more

CARRILLO AUTOMOTIVE - Auto Repair Near Me - Paso Robles, California

My Airbnb hosts recommended Carrillo Auto to inspect a check engine light after hundreds of miles of driving with a couple hundred left to go. Carrillo said they were booked up but that they would check my car to see if it was something I needed to repair immediately. After 5 minutes they came back and said it was only my O2 sensor and gave me a code for my local mechanic to work on. They reset the check engine indicator and even checked everything else to ensure a safe drive back home. So amazing! Such angels. Thank you so much, I'm so grateful. I would definitely return. read more

The plastic undercarriage of my car came loose and was dragging on the road while I was out doing errands. I stopped by to see if it could be reattached and within 15 minutes I was driving away with it fixed. I watched through the waiting room window as they lifted up the car, took off the broken part and reattached the rest into place. Turns out the part that they took off wasn't critical so the whole part didn't need to be replaced and I could drive as is. It was a simple, quick fix and they didn't charge me which was very nice of them. Would definitely return for future issues. read more

I was in the middle of a 900 mile trip and my wheel bearings went out and needed a hub assembly. Mostly by luck we ended up there, we just parked until they opened. They took care of us very quickly so we could get back on the road. I in my hour of need they came through like a champion, didn't overcharge, were quick and friendly. I can't thank them enough. - Note this was on 12/23/16. read more

I'm very very happy with Carrillo. I was driving through town on 101 between LA and Santa Cruz and my engine was overheating. I got Carrillo's name from an auto parts store guy and limped there with the gauge on hot. They could have taken me to the cleaners, but instead solved my problem is very short order at no cost. Integrity, capability, honesty, what more can you ask for? Thank you guys. read more

Hands down the best in North County...possibly on Central Coast. Excellent service and great pricing. Juan doesn't mark up necessarily. He's a straight shooter when it comes to work that is required and pricing. He also backs up his work and really cares about customer satisfaction read more

We take our business and personal vehicles to Carrillo. The ENTIRE staff there is great and we have NEVER had to return a vehicle to have something "done over". They do it right the first time and for less than half of a dealership. Honest, reliable and customer service oriented. read more

Slimy con artists. Put the wrong parts in my car, "fixed" the wrong issue, and in the end I ended up a different shop and lost several thousand dollars. read more

Great customer service and quality. I originally came when I had been to 3 other shops and had them "fix" my car, only to have the same problem. Carrillo actually found the problem and fixed it for way less than the other guys quoted me on work I didn't need. I've been a half dozen or more times now. I have a cheap backyard mechanic that I regularly use. But have relied on Carrillo for anything more complicated. Even when I use my mechanic I've found it saves me $ in the long run if I have it diagnosed by Juan and then tell my mechanic exactly what I need done. I gave it a 4 only because mechanics seem way too expensive to me. read more

Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly at the shop. Best prices in town and my car cant run any better! Ive been coming to carrillo automotive for years. Juan and his crew take pride in the work they do and it shows. read more

Juan Carrillo and his staff were our Knights in Shining Armour!! Our van broke down on the freeway at night, while on business in Paso Robles. We were able to get the car down the freeway towards our hotel by starting and stopping for several miles. We took a wrong exit and found ourselves on a dark street full of automotive shops...all closed since it was after 7 pm...and then we saw a light on in one of the shops and walked up to see if they could loan us a screwdriver to try to get our van working. Even though they were clearly done for the day and enjoying a great BBQ, Juan said to bring the van up the driveway and he'd take a look at it. He not only told us what was wrong (a cam sensor), he called up a parts store and went and got the part minutes before they closed, then he installed it!! In our opinion, Juan Carillo and his staff went over and beyiond the call of duty to help us. We can't speak highly enough of their friendliness and professionalism. Going to Carrillo Automotive would be the BEST thing you ever do for your vehicle, your budget and yourself. read more
