After looking at the problem it was clear I would need to order a part but the mechanic offered to zip tie the flapping part so it did not get more damaged on my way home... 250 miles away. I had a check engine that came on my 2003 Highlander 3 times after your shop tried to check it out....which took 5 days each time being without my car...each time without charge and you weren't able to find a solution. I took it to another shop and paid $150.00 for a diagnostic and after 3 hours they found a spark plug and a wire was the reason.....the cost besides the diagnostic was $ 25.00!!!!!That should have been part of your diagnostic!!! You also qouted me $760.00 for a headlight replacement and this shop has quoted me $350.00....I trusted you guys having read your reviews and had used you in the past felt confident. Came here for a smog check in order to complete my annual vehicle registration. The customer ahead of me failed and was a complete asshole about it. I respected the ability of the staff to remain calm and not bend when the guy kept pressing for a passing test. Very professional. Once it was my turn I pulled into the garage and stuck around through the test. Quick, yet thorough. At the end I received a print out of all the tests completed and an apology for witnessing the prior customer exchange (not needed!). I made an appt for an oil change but sent my husband to get it done this time (the first time I went and had a wonderful experience). My husband came back from our appt and was raving about how nice the guys were, how they even showed him what to check/keep an eye on for something to be checked out later. My husband is a critic and mentioned multiple times throughout the day how impressed he was with the garage and the mechanics. Safe to say it's our go-to auto repair garage! Like my other review stated, if you get there FIRST THING you will be in and out super quick with very little waiting time. Erik and his team were amazing. I scheduled an appointment on Friday PM for Monday AM, and within an hour of dropping the car off they were able to diagnose my AC problem as a faulty expansion valve. I went to Paso Robles with my family, lil ones and all when my car broke down leaving us on the side of the road over 200 miles from home. I took my car to this shop taking a major risk as you never know if you ll be taken advantage of when your so far from home and desperate. I have been trying to get my car window motor, switch, and locking mechanism fixed for months in Northern California where I live with no luck or they wanted crazy prices to fix it. Found Paso Robles Auto Repair through Yelp and I have found their amazing reviews are 100% accurate. Called regarding my AC not working and they got me in same day. They also drove me home since it would take a few hours and I didn't have a ride. They unfortunately couldn't fix the problem due to newer electronic issue and called the dealership to confirm issue and they could fix it for me. Then dropped off the car at my house before 3 as they remembered I needed to pick up my kids and didn't even charge me! While I love my beat-up old Mustang, she is very unreliable. To my dismay, she decided to start lagging when shifting gears, making it a danger to drive on the highway. I was in frenzy that my transmission was more than likely going to die soon. I called Paso Robles Auto Repair hoping to get my car in the shop immediately before she completely broke down. They were able to fit me in the next day! I dropped off my car explaining the situation of what was wrong. I explained to them I was hoping to sell her soon so I did not want to put too much money into fixing her. They drove her a round for a bit and luckily, it was not my transmission that was causing the issue! They explained to me what they thought was wrong in a kind and informative manner that did not make me feel inferior. They were extremely understanding of my desire to sell my car soon and promised to not do anything that wasn't 100% needed. They recommended a tune-up and were very up-front about the cost. Unfortunately, the tune-up only partially fixed the problem. They called me after the weekend to inform me of the situation and apologized that my car was not fixed. They said they thought they knew what was wrong now and would fix the problem with zero cost of labor, just pay for the new parts needed. When I got my car back, I was very happy with how she ran! She is doing better than ever with no problems! Throughout the whole experience, they provided wonderful customer service! They seem to be extremely knowledgeable, kind car mechanics! A few weeks ago I had a check engine light come on, I took my car to Paso Robles auto repair, and later Eric called me and told me that I needed a Co2 sensor and it would cost 600.00 and I approved the repair. I picked up the car and it ran great until I got about 100 miles away from home, the check engine light came on, just like before, and the car would barely run, so I was forced to take it to a garage in Kern Co. The mechanic there pulled up the same code as Eric but he pointed out that the code also read Co2 sensor high-tension wire he then checked the alternator and found a failed diode, he replaced the alternator and my car has been running great since then. I called Eric and told him that I thought they had misdiagnosed the problem with my car. Eric was adamant that he did not want to hear this and said the two weren't connected, they were, the computer needed power to work properly the battery was not getting a full charge, and this caused a faulty reading (misdiagnosis) I cannot recommend Paso Robles Auto Repair read more
