The owner Jeff is not far from a scam artist. He doesn't even check basic tolerances one would check when doing a job he is supposedly good at. When a vehicle is returned to him with an issue he may admit something isn't right, but he will only swap one part to try and fix it. If that doesn't work, he will tell you to just deal with it. Even when it causes catastrophic failure within less than 100 miles of driving. I would advise anyone to stay far far away from this business. If you dare to give him a try, I advise you try and have a basic conversation with him first. Even his normal mannerisms are rude and blasé. read more

This is one of those places you are so happy to have found. Jeff's came highly recommended to me by a friend of mine, and he has earned all my auto repair business from here on out. The staff has always been friendly and courteous. The jobs get done in a timely manner. And most importantly, they work hard to earn your trust. My first visit entailed a fairly major repair to my Honda (major to me, probably fairly routine to a mechanic). It could have cost me thousands of dollars to fix at a dealership (which I know because it got towed to a dealership when it broke down, and they were able to give me their best estimate). When I contacted Jeff, he mentioned that I had a few options, which would potentially save me a lot of money. I went with his advice, and allowed him to fix it in a different way. He called a few days later with the good news that it was fixed and ready to go. And not only that, it didn't take as long as expected, and so it came in a little cheaper than quoted. In all, it saved me close to $1500. We've started bringing all our vehicles here now, and have had several small services done. We've always been satisfied with their exceptional service. Do not go here, friend for over ten years, spent lots of money over the years. Went in to have gas gauge sending unit replaced and while my vehicle was there someone cut the wire to my oil pressure sending unit. I had gotten stuck in the area an extra night when my car started having issues as I was about to leave town. I had gotten a referral from a friend and called Jeff's first thing in the morning on Monday and explained my situation (that I was 5 hours from home and really needed my car fixed ASAP). They told me to bring it right in and they would check it out. I was there by about 8:45 a.m., a diagnostic was done by 9:15, quote done and part ordered by 9:25 a.m., and work complete by 2:45 p.m.!! They did a wonderful job, did it quickly, and gave me a fair and honest quote (and it ended up being less)! Shannon at the front desk was great to work with. Jeff saved my day! My Honda Civic has been having problems overheating for a while (whole different story) and ended up having it towed to Jeff in Atascadero. He was able to squeeze me in on a busy and was very clear and honest while explaining the diagnostic , never tried to get me to pay for anything I wasn't comfortable with. I needed a smog and this was the only shop out of about 5 I called that could do it the same day. I was literally in and out in 10 minutes.

My friend broke down on the way to Big Sur at 3:30 in the afternoon and Jeff's scrambled for the parts at the last minute and had him on the road by 5:30. They knew he was really in a bind, worked hard, and stayed late to get the job done at a reasonable cost. I wish every auto repair shop was like Jeff's and cannot wait to use their service again!
