Took our X5 to German Performance and was diagnosed with needing to replace the charge pipes and a brake flush. We opted to pass on the charge pipes for now and told them to go ahead with the brake flush. I'm changing the oil today and I find that the upper end of the charge pipes was not re-attached, so our car has been sucking dirt into our turbo for the past month. Also, the engine cover was just laying under the hood, not reattached. Two bolts on the underside cover plate were also completely loose, as if someone took it off and just put the bolts in a few threads so as not to lose them... but then they never went back. So now I'm asking myself about the brake flush that we paid them for. Guess what, absolutely no marks, clean spots or signs of contact of any sort. THEY DIDN'T DO THE BRAKE FLUSH THEY CHARGED US FOR!!! IS THIS EVEN SAFE?!? Sorry so emotional but the wound is fresh as I just found all of this in the last hour. Un-fukn-believable

What what I like most about German is that they will talk to you about your car and they listen to what you want to do. If you're like me and have a lot of experience with the various cars you own, they'll take your feedback and direction and do what you need to have done. If you have your own parts sourced, they use them and knock the work out and get back to you without issues. They can handle older and newer models including recoding for batteries and updates, etc. i have had transmission service, cooling, suspension, and battery work done in past 5 years. I highly recommend their workmanship for my BMWs.

My 2018 BMW 4 Series w/ M package had a oil cooler leak. They fixed it and found another coolant leak which they ended up repairing too. Good price and repair time but reasonable versus going to BMW of SLO as they are money hungry. Bryan is good with his customers and reaches out to them after the repair. I highly recommend German Performance but don't recommend purchasing a BMW as their parts quality is so poorly made.

Brian and the crew at German Performance are awesome. They are friendly and professional. Every time I've needed a service or something comes up that I need looked at they get me in asap. Maintaining my Audi is not cheap but I feel like their prices are more than fair. They get me in and out in and have accommodated me on more than one occasion. Both me and my girlfriend take our vehicles to German performance and I would recommend them to my family and friends for sure! Thanks guys!

I had issues with my car for awhile , just couldn't quite fix it our selfs ( is the newer diesel technology in it) we were referred by my mother in law , who happened to know the owner from her college days and spoke highly of him. We called made an appointment, was able to drop the car off days prior to the appointment in case they could to it sooner ( since it had to be trailed ) very nice front desk guy upon drop off! Within 2 days we got a call, they had it fixed, and they wanted to drive it some more so they felt 100% it was going home perfect! Long story short, when picking up car , very nice gentleman at the front desk ( different one from before). I'm so beyond thankful for a shop and crew that is confident in their work! They are very fair with their prices to their customers, for the price we paid to fix my car I would have paid that over and over again! And Trust me I've had my fair share of bad shop experiences and mechanics/ businesses that really don't care about your vehicle and just want the money ... but this shop is 100% at your best interest! They gained a customer who will keep coming back in the future & will continue to spread the word of the amazing standard this shop holds

Jonny Prius & EV Repair- Negligence Cost Me an Engine…read moreRating: I am writing this to warn others--especially women--about the costly negligence I experienced at this shop. My car was towed here in November for overheating. I paid $565 for what I was told were the necessary repairs. However, the car overheated again almost immediately because the original problem was never actually fixed. Upon inspection, it appeared the thermostat had never been replaced. Because the shop failed to perform the initial repair correctly, my engine was severely damaged and completely failed, requiring a full engine replacement that cost thousands of dollars. When I went back, the owner tried to quote me $5,000 for a new engine to fix the damage his own negligence caused. I filed a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Following their investigation, the owner was forced to refund my $565 because he could not produce a single receipt or proof of what work he had supposedly done the first time. I ended up taking my car elsewhere to have the engine replaced. Do not take your vehicle here. Their lack of transparency and failure to perform basic repairs resulted in major mechanical failure for my car.

I also want to emphasize that months after the incident, Jonny still hasn't acknowledged the…read moreseriousness of telling us our car was safe to drive when it absolutely was not. He has never apologized for that, and even admitted that he told us it was drivable -- then dismissed the issue by blaming the situation on being a "small business." What's most disappointing is that his only concern seems to be that I left a "negative Yelp review," rather than the safety risk we were put in or the responsibility he refused to take.

My misadventure with them this year began when I took my motorhome in to get the house and engine batteries checked out. I also wanted the front brakes checked out. The engine battery needed replacement and they recommended replacing the front brakes. I had them replace the engine battery needed (500 dollars) and contact me with an estimate for the front brakes. Note: I received no written estimate for any of the work - should have been a big red flag. I went in the next week to check on the estimate. The counter person had to look it up and I got an estimate of 1500 for the brake replacement, kind of high but in line with the rear brakes replacement done when they were American West two years ago. When they were scheduling the work I heard the guy say rear brakes and corrected him thar it was the front brakes. I brought the MH in for service on Jan 20. The lady person that wrote up the SOW said rear brakes and I corrected her that it was the front brakes. I left to return later and was called when the estimate was increased to 2000 because they would need to remove the axle. That didn't sound right. I returned to the office and asked for an explanation. The person told me they had to take the rear axle off to do the work. I told her again the front brakes not the rear brakes were being replaced. Lots of typing by them later they said okay, it would be a while to get the parts. Red flag. Still felt they might be okay. I left again and they called telling me I would need new calipers, as I had told them to begin with, as advised by the person on the 9th when this all started. So more delay and more waiting. Finally got done after a few more hours. So I paid the 2500 dollars. The test driver told me there was a jerk when the brakes were used but that it would go away after a bit of usage. It hasn't. So now every time I apply the brakes the steering wheel jerks to the left until I straighten it out. The moral of the story: 1. I got no detailed costing before hand. 2. Two of the desk people ignored me when I corrected them on what was to be done. 3. My Motorhome is sort of unsafe to drive. 4. I don't know what damage is being done to my steering linkage.
