I was visiting from out of town and felt that I got something in my eye. I went to an urgent care on a Sunday night as my eye was killing me. They numbed it and did the florescent drops and did not find anything in there and said I had an eye infection and wrote an antibiotic RX. On Tuesday, my eye was still hurting and still felt like something was in it. Called up Spring Hill Eyecare and they were able to fit me in. They were VERY COVID cautious and everything was clean and well organized. Dr. Kathryn Beckman was very prompt and friendly. After putting in the florescent drops, Dr. Beckman said she suspected there was something up under my eyelid because of the redness she saw on my upper eye. She was able to flip my eyelid and found the culprit!! The pain was instantly gone and I was so appreciative. She said the piece was stuck in the fleshy part of my eyelid and probably would not have come out on its own and would have continued to agitate my eye and probably develop into an ulcer!!! Yikes!! They even called the Walgreens to make sure they had the RX eyedrops in stock before they sent me there! I am so thankful for Dr. Beckman and the amazing team at Spring Hill Eyecare. read more

he staff was friendly and the office is beautiful, but the pricing experience was extremely disappointing. I felt the practice was predatory in how services and add ons were presented. Multiple items were recommended and added without clear, upfront disclosure of cost. I ended up spending more than five times what I normally spend for annual eye care. At no point was I clearly warned how expensive this visit was becoming or given a transparent comparison to standard pricing. I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam and a prescription. They gave me 6 pages of paperwork, where I had to agree to charges like $50 (eye photo) and $35 for something else. I walked out, and went to VisionWorks instead. No appointment needed, and much better customer service. Visionworks charged $20 for the eye photo. Read the fine print in the paperwork they give you when you are there. I paid ahead for the IPL service of 4 sessions. I had one and really didn't feel like it was going to do anything for me. I also had something's come up. So I called to get a refund for the 3 I didn't use. Well they keep part of the money because you are canceling. Never had this happen before with a professional business . I've told many people about this and never have they heard of this either. So make sure you read the paperwork . Then I say they don't fit my style that I'm looking for. I get an attitude. Huh? Your job is to help facilitate the customers questions and concerns. Then you get miffed and pout when I say I don't like that style of frame that YOU picked out. Not me. Regardless of its " superior quality ". Rude yes. People person nope. Informed on frames nope. I would not recommend Spring Hill Eyecare for this reason. ..They will over bill you! And are extremely money hungry! I recieved a $500.00 bill! They claim my insurance would not cover. I have VSP plus Medical eye insurance! Beckman also pushed Pushed Lipoflow for Dry eyes that never helped. I got a second option from another eye specialist and was told that lipiflow was useless for my eye condition which was NOT covered by insurance. Another $1050,00 pissed away! Not including the $75.00 eye drops ms. Beckman swizzle out of me at $75.00 a pop which I have bought at least 4 times!I'm so disappointed and saddened! read more

The front desk is very rude. They do push high price products. I called their office yesterday and practically got hung up on by a rude girl who answers the phone. First I'll start off with the positives as this was my first time at this doctor's office. The office is beautiful and the front desk staff was wonderful. My appointment was during covid so I waited in my car and was called back to the room on time. The girl who first helped me was so nice and listened to me as a patient. Then when Dr. Beckham came in that's when the visit turned bad. The first thing I noticed was the lights were not dimmed to do an eye exam. The reason your doc is supposed to dim the lights is so your eye muscles relax when reading the chart at a distant. She told me I had cholesterol deposits on my eyes and asked if I had high cholesterol. I have a physical every year and have NEVER had high cholesterol. She also told me I was getting a slight stigmatism. I have no issues seeing up close and when the young guy came in after the doctor he had me read the chart up close again and apologized for not turning on the light on the chair so I could see better. Another thing the doctor did not do. Halfway thru the exam I had to tell her the eye machine was fogging up due to I had my mask on. She apologized and taped my mask on my face to eliminate the fogging during my exam as she said it can mess with the prescription results. My prescription for my contacts has been the same for years with my past eye doctor and it changed from -2.00 to -2.25 which I am hesitant to believe. Then the worst part was the doctor not listening to me!!! I told her I wanted my Biofinity lenses the ones Ive had for 20 years and no issues. She pushed and pushed the daily lenses on me and sent me home with a 10 day trial which went right into the trash when I got home. I now have scheduled another eye exam at Target and they will get my business. I was so excited to try Spring Hill eye-care but due to not listening to the patient and having no trust in the doctor I would recommend going somewhere else. Thank you for the response and I left out the BC on my contacts was wrong which Target corrected. I would avoid this business at all cost. After an eye exam my wife was talked into purchasing an extremely expensive set of lenses. These lenses were not covered by insurance of course. When the lenses came in the first time the prescription was way off and they didn't believe us for several days. We finally were able to talk them into doing another exam and found that the prescription was incorrect. The next set of lenses came in and we were told that it takes time to get adjusted. 15 days of having constant headaches we finally said enough is enough and contacted the office to see if something was wrong. She could see perfectly out of one eye and the other I was completely blurry. She was told that this was normal. I beg to differ. We were told that Eye exams are subjective and essentially told it was my wife's fault. There was no offer of any solutions on the second set of lenses. They were willing to refund the cost of the lenses but not the frames and they would not void the insurance claim so my wife can go somewhere else to get another exam to get glasses that will actually work. One star is actually too much but I can't choose less. Customer service is not their top priority. read more

I've referred countless patients to Dr. Rob. I had an issue the optical manager Amy. I called Melanie the office manager to try and resolve this issue.(No response) I wrote a letter to Dr. Rob and had it personally delivered to him. (No response). So here I am writing this review. Not only are the staff professional and kind, but the atmosphere is comfortable and classy. It was more like being in someone's home than in a doctor's office. I also learned a lot about my eyes while I was there. Dr. Szeliga and his staff took the time to explain what they were doing and why. A lot complain about pricing but, would you rather get glass that don't totally help you for cheap , or glass that have given you full clarity for a price? Please don't go here. The eye doctor was pushing progressives on me as well as the eye technician and seemed very unhappy when I told them I wanted a standard set of glasses. I spent a lot of money on a standard pair and while I felt "unheard" as a patient, I still threw caution to the wind and forked over money ($$$) for a new pair. I should have listened to my gut and purchased my glasses elsewhere. Apparently it's difficult to get your eye prescription these days, especially several months later from many doctors because they don't want you buying glasses online and taking business away from them. I hoped that with all of the money I spent with them less than a year ago they would gladly give me MY information that I paid a lot of money for. While they emailed me my prescription initially as requested they refused to give me my PD (pupillary distance) which is mandatory when ordering prescription glasses anywhere you go. After two emails and one phone call I was told they do not keep that information on file. I call BS on this. I spend over $330 on glasses with them less than one year ago and they don't have my PD on file? Interesting because I just called Target Optical in Spring Hill and he gladly gave me my PD no questions asked. While Target let me know my PD might have changed since the last pair of glasses that I purchased from them, he still gave me my information and was very polite. Please don't go to Spring Hill Eyecare PLLC. They are all about price gouging you from your initial exam all the way through to your purchase, and heaven forbid you ask for information that is on file if you purchase glasses there. One final note, I should have listened to my gut especially when I saw a framed advertisement on a counter in my exam room for a product from Rodan and Fields (MLM). read more

My grandma and I both have been to Spring Hill eye care. They lady who helped me and her on two different occasions was so abrupt and harsh. She hurt both of our feelings. Also, they have moved offices and their new office is beautiful. But, somehow the new policies in place there make it feel stuffy and they treat you like second class citizens. It's pretty sad. Im a current patient but this was the first time I have visited the new office on Maine Street. I have always had an excellent experience in the previous office with Dr. Rob Szeliga and his attentive staff but yesterday I was treated by Dr. Gozum and the care remains five star. The new office is incredible and his staff obviously are trained as well as hired with customer experience in mind. This was the first time since 2009 that my prescription did not change so I did not have the opportunity to spend time in the frame area of the practice but at first glance it has also grown substantially with many more choices. I would never recommend Spring Hill Eye Care to anyone. I moved here from out of state and needed a prescription updated to order new eyeglasses, so I went there because it was convenient. After the exam, the doctor (Optometrist) told me I needed to schedule another appointment to come back to do another test on my macula and that I needed to take an eye supplement which was sold there for $36. I went back the following week for the macula test and was told I had a problem with my macula because of how it looked in a picture that was taken with their equipment. When I asked what this means the doctor could not tell me and said something about getting back to me and to schedule to come back in 5 weeks. I was also told I needed an eye mask which was sold there for $38 (later saw it on Amazon for $19.50). I bought the items and scheduled to go back in 5 weeks. After I got home and thought about it, I cancelled the appointment and instead scheduled with a Specialist in Nashville. There were two different Specialists (Ophthalmologists) in Nashville (Vanderbilt Eye Institute) that did thorough exams and said there was nothing wrong with my macula. The doctors in Nashville also said I did not need the supplement nor the mask. They said my eyes are healthy and there is nothing worrisome. I spent over $200 at Spring Hill Eye Care, which was a complete waste. I only had to pay my $40 copay in Nashville (Vanderbilt Eye Institute) to see real doctors and get the truth. Would rate zero stars if possible. Had to give a star in order to post. read more
