A+ - she really cares about her patients, takes time to get your prescription right. Highly recommended!

Where to begin... this woman failed to recognize that i had an astigmatism in my left eye. I've known about it since I was 8. Through her "professional" diagnosis she failed to recognize that. She was clearly upset with my daughter and I for asking for a last minute eye exam. My daughter lost her glasses while on the Harpeth River earlier this dsy. While Irene was kind enough to see my daughter that same day she was visually and vocally perturbed about it. She even made a comment and said "I didn't get to go have fun on the river all day like you did" during her unhappiness that my daughter and I were there. I'd have rather her said she didn't have time for us as opposed to acting how she did. For the past year I have literally been almost blind in my left eye because she failed to notice my lifelong astigmatism. She burned up my yearly opportunity to have my yearly eye exam covered by insurance. I returned to irene to question he diagnosis on my eye at which poijt she got frustrated and only changed the prescription for mt right eye, which was not the issue. Bottom line is... of you have other options go with them!! She is rude. She was rude to my daughter. She was clearly in a hurry the day of the exam which is why I said I'd rather have had her say she wasn't available. I HIGHLY suggest you see a more competent and much more friendly doctor than Irene. I have included my real name in this review in hopes that she sees this and reconsiders both her professionalism and attitude towards the people who unfortunately help keep her in business. read more

Dr. Katsaitis continues to provide me the best vision care. My recent appointment was outstanding. Dr. Katsaitis provided me a new type of contact on a trial to see if there is an improvement. I find the reviews here odd. There many FIVE stars and several One star. Umm. I just know she does quality work. She gives me plenty of time to voice my concerns. When I moved to Nashville in 2007, I really did not know where to go when I needed to get my eye sight checked, and purchase new contacts. I randomly found Dr. Irene by just taking a chance on the Walmart Vision Center, and could not have been happier. She has always been a great doctor, who understood where I was financially, but was also very honest with how to keep my eye health on top. I refuse to even look for another Optometrist, even though my current employer's insurance does not cover her "In Network." I'd rather pay the extra to know that I'm taken care of, and by someone who cares, and who listens. read more

I came in because I've been having a problem with one of my eyes which has been a very worrisome problem for me. Dr. Irene was VERY rude... kept cutting me off while speaking, very doubtful of my symptoms, and had zero compassion for my nerves. At one point I had to tell her "if you'd just let me finish", just to get out the rest of my sentence. I'd NEVER go back. read more

This doctor was very rude and condescending and it appears that she couldn't care less if you can see or not, I mean how is that her fault. My first encounter with her, I drove with no glasses or contacts in to see if she could help me before 4pm and she stated "No! I can not see you any sooner. I almost didn't go back because of her mannerisms but I was desperate. She was working alone so I gave her a break, even though she continued to be very condescending. I'm one of those cash people with no insurance so maybe i deserved her nastiness, but then I went back for a re-check one day and could hear her laughing and having such a good time with her patient behind closed doors until she opened the door and saw me, then it was the same unprofessional, condescending attitude again. I also requested another pair of contacts since I had been reluctant to order any and was told no! I suffer from chronic ulcers on my eyeballs and clean contacts are very important and her response was and how is that my problem! I responded with well a little compassion goes a long way, but I'm pretty sure that's not a word she understands. I mean you would think the contacts were coming out of her paycheck. I will never walk in this Wal-Mart again and oh how I pray one day I'll get to be her Lyftv driver, what fun that will be! My turn to make her feel the way she made me feel. I've been a patient of Dr. Katsaitis for many years as I've lived throughout Brentwood, Franklin and Nashville. It never takes long to get an appointment and it never takes long to be seen. Her office is efficient and she is thorough with exams. I've see her for annual exams with and without insurance. Her cash exams are right around $100 which is totally fair. In 2013, I had something serious going on and she sent me immediately to a nearby opthamologist and they sent me to a specialist. I was diagnosed with a temporary condition that was not serious but was scary at the time. If she had not taken me seriously, it could've worsened. I feel she is very competent and friendly. read more

Dr. Katsaitis provides thorough, comprehensive exams. She is a real pro and very pleasant. She had a hard talk with me a few years ago about my ye healthcare. She was to the point and didn't beat around the bush, for which I was grateful. read more

I refuse to see anyone else for my eye exams- Dr. Katsaitis is the best. Her staff always gets me in within a few days & she's great with my exam. When I had an eye infection one weekend and went to a walk in clinic, I was prescribed meds that made everything worse. Dr.Katsaitis had me on correct meds swiftly & my eyes cleared up in no time. read more

Unfortunately she was rude to my daughter who does not have insurance. I would not refer her to anyone. My daughter needed an extra set of contacts but she would not give her a temporary set until she got her prescription. She was not personable helpful or friendly. read more

I DO really love Dr. Katsaitis. She has a terrific bedside manner. She is personable, knowledgeable and enjoyable to visit. She helped me when I was having serious I issues, calmly referred me to an ophthalmologist. It turned out that I needed surgery. It is not every day that you find a doctor who cares and is concerned and will not rush. It is even more amazing that she is located at our local Walmart. I have paid three times more for an eye exam from an ophthalmologist and still did not get the kind of care Dr Katsaitis gives me. She was unbelievably patient as I tried new contacts that she ordered for me free of charge. She has also worked me and when I had an eye issue and wrote me a prescription ASAP. My children have seen her since they were small and now as teenagers still think she is pretty cool. read more

Simply the best I've used. She is funny and charming and very competent. I used to deal with pain from contacts because my previous opthalmologists were unable to fit me properly. Dr. Katsaitis was able to fit me with contacts that have been pain free from the get go. I haven't gone to anyone else in 4+ years. Do not think she is substandard because her office is in a Wal-Mart. She is top notch and I recommend her highly. read more

Before we had even sat down or gotten checked in the doctor came in and was immediately rude. We couldn't even get two words out with out her cutting us off. She barely spoke to us directly just walking off and talking over her shoulder. I would not recommend going there as a new patient!! read more

Today my wife and I went in for an eye exam after being recommended by our friend Stacy Knox and I was a little nervous about it being at Walmart...But the moment I stepped into the office and met Julie the front office manager I was put at ease. Its been several years since I had an exam and was teally expecting the worst. After my wife finished it was my turn and the care that Dr. Katsaitis showed us both was amazing. She took her time explaining how everything worked and how bad my vision was. I thought for SURE I would need glasses or contacts. But after all was said and done she made me feel so at ease explaining why I wouldn't need them. The atmosphere is so professional and having somebody like Julie to greet you and take care of things is perfect...I would highly recommend Dr. Katsaitis to anyone. If I could choose zero stars I would. Dr Katsaitis was rude and didn't listen to anything I said. She argued with me that my prescription was correct when I still couldn't see. Did not help at all. I'm going to see another doctor tomorrow. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!! read more
