I had the unfortunate experience of a poke in the eye which led me to see several doctors here. Overall the staff is excellent! There is one exception, but I have already brought that to the attention of the staff and they quickly took care of it. My review here is mainly going to focus on two individuals - Dr. Barberic and Katie Evans. I'll begin with Katie. She went above and beyond the call of duty to take care of me. When I was referred to a specialist at Vandy, Katie called them to get my appointment scheduled as quickly as possible. She even personally met me when the office was closed in order to pick up some paperwork from me. She texted to check on me over a holiday weekend. This is what excellent customer service looks like! Dr. Barberic is absolutely the best!! I just can't say enough about her and what she has done for me. She is, without a doubt, the most caring and compassionate doctor I've ever seen. The level of care and personal attention she gives is unparalleled. There is no doubt I would not have progressed as well as I have had it not been for Dr. Barberic. She took the time to call and check on me the same weekend of her father-in-law's funeral. That is certainly above and beyond the expectations I had. She genuinely cares about her patients and wants the very best for them. I am so very thankful for everything she has done for me! There are certainly other staff members that I can recognize. Most everyone has been so nice and helpful. If you are looking for a place for a simple eye exam or you need more specialized treatment, like me, then give Cool Springs EyeCare a try. This place is absolutely terrible. I mean, the worst. First, they incorrectly diagnosed me with a hole in my retina. I went to a retina specialist and they said I 100% don't have a hole in my retina. Then when I went back to Cool Springs Eye care and told them they legitimately laughed at me as if it was obvious the specialist was wrong (who they recommended to me). Since then I've gotten it checked by multiple other Doctors and confirmed that there is no hole in my retina. Then they got my prescription wrong by nearly a whole point! When I told them that something felt off they acted bothered and told me there is nothing that they can do. Dr. Robin Brady in particular has the unique quality of being both incredibly arrogant and simultaneously laughably wrong about what he's talking about. I've never been to a worse eye doctor before, someone should seriously take his license away. Please steer clear and go to another doctor in town. read more

They cancelled my yearly check-up without notifying me. I drove 30 minutes to be told my appointment was cancelled and there was no way I could be seen. I would be more forgiving if the doctors or staff were pleasant, but alas they are not. read more

I was initially referred to Cool Springs Eyecare by a neurologist. I was first seen by Dr. Kegarise. Very impressed by his extensive expertise. When he suggested Neurolens he even suggested I do my own research and take my time in figuring out if I felt like it would be a good fit for me. I got Neurolens and they helped me so much. Next time I return I see Dr. Daniel Kelly. Another top notch eye doctor. Continuing care was good. Fast forward to April, 2025. Once I'm in the exam room I'm informed I'll be seeing Dr. Robin Brady. From the get go he was Rushed! During the eye exam I told him the electronic eye chart was flickering (causing me to have after images, had to rest in between with my eyes closed and hands over my eyes). I got through the eye exam. Expressed concern about eye pain, lid irritation, and tear production coupled with slight vision loss. He insisted on Pataday eye drops. Got the impression he didn't want to explore other avenues of treatment that might be more suitable or figure out the underlying cause of these issues. read more

Yesterday I had my third visit with Cool Springs EyeCare in less than three weeks. The visit didn't end well, after waiting for 40 min in their lobby for my appointment, I told the receptionist I was leaving to get back to work. Her response was, "can we rush you back with the doctor now and he can get you in and out in 5 min" That comment from the front desk summarizes the problem. They couldn't get me in at my appointment time but after I waited for 30 min, they found time to "rush me back" when I had enough. In addition, she said the doctor is fast, I will be in and out quickly. That is the primary reason I was on my third visit in three weeks. I was in and out so fast during my eye exam that once my new $500 pair of glasses were made, they were worse than my cheapo glasses that I had been using for 5 years. The prescription must be wrong I was told by the lady trying to figure out what my new glasses didn't work. Maybe if they slowed down and didn't cram in extra patients into the schedule, the patient would get better care and doctors would be on time for their appointments. When I sat with the gal trying to figure out why my new glasses were not adequate, each time I compared them to my old pair, she concluded that it was me, not the glasses that needed adjustment. She asked me to change my computer height, my office chair hight, wear them higher on my face, everything except make the glasses work for me. I get the feeling that this establishment is all about cramming in as many patients as possible during the day and sell, sell, sell, sell. I will look for eye care somewhere else where the standard is patient satisfaction over profit. read more

First couple years at Americas Best was great. But this past year no one seems to communicate times/or give false information on when they are going to be there like for example was the first issue was a Saturday appt that i was told THEY DID, found out later they do not for the contacts on Saturday. Then 2nd issue I was told a appt time by phone and it was sent to my text stating time over phone that was talked about. Then a few minutes later I get two more additional texts stating 12pm but no one calls me about the time change, this is literally minutes after I get off the phone with the associates. I am not understanding why this time around i am having so much trouble with the associates communicating at this location. I had an excellent experience at Cool Springs EyeCare! Their shop is not large, but I honestly liked about 90% of the frames in there, and the ones I didn't like would've looked good on someone else. lol. Coco is the person who helped me, and she was very helpful indeed! I was able to find the exact frames I wanted, and that can be challenging because I'm extremely picky and know exactly what I'm looking for! This was not a good experience. I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years, and have never been treated with such disregard. The eye test went well. I was told my glasses would take at the most 2 weeks to arrive. It was over 2 weeks and I didn't hear anything. After making several calls, I was told my glasses didn't meet the standard and were being remade. I waited another 2 weeks still no glasses. (I had informed the office I would be traveling. I finally was able to get my glasses 2 months late!! No apology!! The instant I put them on I could tell something wasn't right, especially with the left lens. I was brushed off and told my brain needed to adjust, to leave the glasses on. After a week of head aches, not being able to focus to read I went back and was told that the frames needed adjusting and that was the problem. Another week goes by, I go back in and thankfully talked to someone who actually listened to me. She told me that the prescription had been adjusted dramatically on the left eye, and that my pupillary distance measurement was incorrect (that's why I was having trouble reading) I was scheduled for another eye exam, and new lenses. A third person measured my pupillary distance and got yet another number!!! I now have my glasses and I wish I could say I'm happy with them but I'm not. One this is for certain I'm never going back there. read more

I have been a patient for years at this business. I recently went on line to schedule my annual exam. No matter which doctor I selected, or how far out the appt was(Nov), they are charging a $25 premium appt fee even though the appts are during the regular business hours, M-F. I am editing and updating my review. Yes I was very frustrated with the staff on a follow up visit to correct my prescription. An hour after my appointment time I still didn't see the Dr. and not once did a receptionist/assistant or type of manager come out and at least apologize/update on an adjusted time frame. This should have been done at least after 20 to 30mins as a courtesy, after all, us as patients are the ones who help pay for whatever type of lifestyle they as employees choose to have with their income. I hope some difference in processes happens because of this, no business will be perfect all the time as we all are not perfect. I saw Dr Robin Brady last Saturday and definitely appreciated they way he communicated, explained and corrected what I needed corrected. There is no doubt in my mind that every Dr. employed at Cool Springs Eye Care is exceptional in their profession, I have only seen 2 and no offense to the first but I would highly recommend Dr. Robin Brady. He is straight to the point, no doubt extremely knowledgeable and I'm confident you would be very pleased. Cool Springs Eye Care honored their guarantee and I am very happy with the correction and both my pairs of glasses, Thank you. For management, I asked for a phone call twice before leaving on Nov 16th and It was not unit a few days after I called VSP to inform them of what happened that i received an email from an assistant manager. The next time someone reached out it was 2 weeks after when another employee read a review of mine. Again I believe the Dr's at Cool Springs Eye Care are excellent in their profession and you will receive excellent care from them. However, my opinion whether welcomed or not, the front end of the business should have some changes with how management trains their staff to interact with their patients. There are other patients who are feeling very similar with staff that have no proper training or having processes in place to handle the patients when something doesn't go as planned. I do not recommend this place. It's very expensive and busy. Had my eyes tested the end of July. The distance glasses ( sunglasses and regular) were not correct. The sunglass lenses were not made correctly in the lab. My piano glasses ... well those were a disaster. They did not know how to do them. Three pairs of glasses out of 4 were Incorrect. They do not refund, only say come back so they can correct the incorrect. I've made 4 trips since August and my glasses are still not correct. I've lost $900 and confidence in their methods. Don't waste your time at Coolsprings Eyecare. First off, I'm a veteran and had an eye exam in 2021, and pretty much a whole year went by before I ever got a bill. Amazing!! Everyone was knowledgeable and kind. The first medical practice to call me by my preferred name. They also offer an alternative to having your eyes dilated. The experience was weird. The person selling me the glasses said she was hungover because she went to neighbor's party the day before. When I was telling her that one pair of sunglasses I own leaves marks on my skin below my eyes she said it was because I have "no bridge". I told her that I have never heard that before and I don't have issues with my other glasses, she replied, "Your bridge is gone, girl". I didn't know nose bridges disappeared on you. No one has ever told me I didn't have a bridge...because I DO have a bridge. So, after she insulted me and made me feel like crap I decided to never go back there. FYI - All of their glasses are EXPENSIVE. Those glasses broke a few months later and I headed over to America's best down the road and got 2 pairs for $69 and a free exam. Oddly, her rudeness saved me a ton of $$ in the end. read more

I desperately needed new glasses but get so overwhelmed picking out a pair that looks good on me. A friend raved about Gina at Cool Springs Eye Care and I am SO happy I went to see her! She took her time with me and picked out what felt like 30 pair for me to try. She would immediately say those look great, or nope! We narrowed it down to 4 pair quickly and she took me to this cool screen set up where she took photos of me in each pair and displayed them side by side. In about 2 seconds I knew which pair was my match and was on my way. I usually hate this task but can honestly say I had a blast. She felt like an old friend giving honest opinions and we laughed the whole time I was there. All the staff are so cool and brought me coffee and made me feel so welcome. Selection of frames is beyond anywhere I've been also. Highly recommend Gina and this place if you need glasses!!! read more

The whole Cool Springs EyeCare team was fantastic! The girl at the front desk was very nice, I'd give her a shoutout if I could but I didn't catch her name! Chenbin, the technician who helped me, was very personable and made me feel very at ease, which was a big deal to me because I'm not super comfortable in medical settings. Dr. Barberic was so bubbly and friendly, it made the experience so great! I will definitely be back - the whole setup was incredible, everything was very modern. They also offer digital retinal scanning, so you don't have to go through the hideousness of having your eyes dilated - I'm particularly sensitive to light so that was a fantastic change for me! read more

I have been going to Cool Springs EyeCare since I was a little kid (now 20) and had always been satisfied until recently when I ordered contacts from them. I ordered a box and was very disappointed with it, but they would not give me back my money. I went through an entire box of daily contacts that were supposed to last three months in two. EXCELLENT SERVICE! I am new to the Franklin area. I needed a new eye doctor and to update my glasses. So, I saw a few reviews and decided to go with Cool Springs Eye Care. I worked with Carrie at the front desk who was very sweet and accommodating. She made me feel comfortable and pointed me to the lobby to look for a pair of glasses. I looked around the lobby and I didn't see much I was interested in. DISCLAIMER: I don't go far out of the specific style that I like and trying on glasses over and over without being able to see in the process is a little exhausting lol. However, Dolly approached me and sat me down with her to talk about what kind of glasses I might like. She quickly jumped up to pick a bunch of frames I might be interested in and was not pushy in the process of doing so. She was okay with the ones I didn't like and she was excited for the ones I did. She was very sweet and helpful from beginning to end. Needless to say, I bought 2 pair of glasses before leaving and I was VERY happy with my experience. I'm not sure how popular an optometrist review would be, but this place is so great I had to share some thoughts as it is obvious this business tries to go above and beyond. I have seen Dr. Dow and few times and she may be the friendliest doctor I have ever seen. Her tech (who's name is escaping me) tries to remember personal details to follow up, even at annual visits, and the whole support staff almost always provides very cordial client service. It is a nice contrast to the majority of medical experiences I'm subjected to (cold, grumpy, impersonal, etc. etc.). One really cool feature was they have some special software that helps you pick out the most flattering eyeglasses. It helps analyze your face shape and you can see a photo of yourself with multiple styles to get a feel. The Optician was very skillful and knowledgeable in the process as well. This is my go-to recommended place when anyone says they need to get their eyes checked or the like. read more

We love Dr. Aimee Jacobs! My two children and I have been seeing her for several years. She's so kind and patient with kids. I am at high risk for glaucoma & I love that she is watching my condition closely without pushing for surgeries that probably won't ever be necessary. Dr. Jeff Kegarise has been my eye doctor for the last decade and has always taken great care of me. He not only makes sure my vision is correct, but ensures that my eyes are healthy too. However, what I like the most about Cool Springs Eye Care is that they all take the time to learn my name and treat me like family. I've had my eyes examined by several of the doctors at CSEC and have always had great service. Did I mention Troy in the optical department. To begin, I am a physician and a fairly savvy health care consumer. I've been wearing glasses for more than 50 years and this has to be one of the most unsatisfying eye care experiences in my life. Despite multiple attempts and physical visits on my part to get a straightforward pair of bifocal glasses right, the glasses were uncomfortable, poor quality (the lenses didnt seat right in the frame) and don't refract one of my eyes correctly. I never saw the same optician twice and none of the opticians seemed to communicate with the office staff or each other. The office didn't call me to let me know when my glasses were ready... After a second try at making up the lenses, the disinterested optician suggested that the prescription might not be correct. Instead of Cool Springs EyeCare directly communicating with the prescribing optometrist to determine what the issue was, they told me to go straighten it out myself...which required me to schedule another visit with that optometrist and a return visit to Cool Springs EyeCare. A couple of the opticians seemed uncertain about how to correctly measure my pupillary distance and where to place the bifocal lines on the lenses. After 3 return visits and 2 pairs of glasses, I finally gave up trying to get them to make the lenses right. But probably the most distressing feature of the experience was that no one at the office even seemed to care if I was actually seeing properly. These glasses were the most expensive in my life. This is a business that boasts about its customer service by placing a book authored by one of the proprietors on display at the front desk. But for all their boasted "expertise", my experience demonstrated just the opposite. I will not use them again. The entire experience was unsatisfactory. read more

I have been going here for years and every visit has been great. They keep appointment times and don't keep you waiting. Staff is friendly. Doctors are professional and warm. I feel like they take the time to answer your questions and explain what is going on with your exam. But the best part of my visit has always been with Troy the optician. I have no idea looking at the glasses what would fit my face and look good. He always comes up with great options and helps me make a decision I know I will be happy with day after day as I am wearing my glasses. I do not recommend unless you have time in your busy schedule to go back multiple times for a single pair of glasses. Told me my daughter's glasses were ready but she would have to come in to have them fitted. They were not only not ready but had to be remeasured and since the guy was on lunch we had to go back another day for pickup. Also, when my pair was ready they never called. when I called asking what the hood up was, they said "we texted you 10 days ago, sorry I guess you didn't get it" don't you think glasses sitting there for 10 days probably need a call to the customer? read more

The overall experience was outstanding. My husband and I went on separate days due to scheduling and availability. His visit went splendidly and everyone one involved was amazing especially the guy that fitted him for his new frames. He was exceptional. My visit was an amazing journey as well! Everyone who helped my was amazing and the level of compassion and care show was refreshing to see. Especially, given the current times and living in the state of COVID. The level of care and safety that their team went through was outstanding. Every member on this tram is exception and at the top of their respective fields. The main reason I rated a 1 star is because they didn't clean the equipment before the eye exam. I was only getting an eye exam, but who knows what contagious eye infection the person had prior to my appointment. Also, on top of my eye exam and the fees, in order to just renew (not change anything) my contact lens prescription, they charged an additional $88.00. I can understand if something changed in my prescription, but the regular eye exam should have covered the renewal. Needless to say, unless they make some changes to how they clean their equipment, I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

They jacked their prices up over 200% from other local offices so that it was unaffordable even with insurance ($250 for an eye exam is absurd!). When I questioned why they charged so much for their exams, Carrie from their office told me that "It's a capitalist society" and that they "have the right to charge whatever they want". That may very well be, but you are duping people by slamming them with extra charges on the way out the door. We both just had our first appointments at "Cool Springs Eye Care" and met with Dr. Harris. We could not have been more pleased with her knowledge, thorough care and attention to us.
