Before choosing Visionworks, I tried to get an eye exam at Spring Hill Eyecare, but they wanted far too much money for the exam and the eye photos. Also, far too much filling in of paperwork. So, I got my eye exam and prescription from Visionworks Doctors of Optometry. When I got the glasses, the manager of the store gave me excellent service for my new prescription and glasses. He also replaced the nose pads on my old pair of glasses for FREE. Really good service and prices at this location. read more

Absolute awful. The eye Dr herself was wonderful,but her staff except the receptionist were rude and did not care if I had lens I could see out of or not. So 2 weeks ago I went there to pick up my glasses was so excited to see lol They sat me down I put them on she ask me to read this thing well I still could not see any of the lines she was like huh I don't know Thank God my uncle came to ck on me cause I would have just taken the glasses and left and not said anything.I asked him would it take some getting used to before I'd be able to see cuz I couldn't see anything so and they were supposed to be prism bifocals okay so I told them the guy before this appointment who put everything in the insurance or whatever ask me did I want the line or not and he said it would be more without the line okay well these glasses had no wine but I couldn't see anything he calls the lady in the guy that's over everything over there and was whispering and tries to tell them that I said I didn't want the prescription glasses oh my God why am I there then so then the guy that's like over everything you know he's been there a long time he tells me and my uncle that I would have to pay an extra $170 to get the prescription glasses that I needed and I said that's not right Ihad just talked to my insurance company andso then he was like well let me go check and he comes back and he was like okay it'll be 2 to 3 weeks before you get your glasses so my uncle asked about the insurance and he said yes it will cover it just so rude so rude so I mean that was all uncalled for it was just awful I go back today to pick them up they handed them to me my case of my glasses internal walk off they didn't check to see if they fit or anything and I'm going to file a complaint this is the second year in a row do not recommend read more

Let me preface this by saying I've had terrible experiences at previous vision works locations. BUT this one, I drove an hour one way to go to because Doctor Holladay is the first doctor in a long time to get my prescriptions correct the first time. My eyes are really bad, so I understand that it's not the easiest thing, but he does a great job and I feel their prices are fair. I highly recommend this place. Worth the drive to me! read more

We had a great experience. I am FT working Mom, so always looking for flexible and quick appointments. I love the flexible hours, selection of glasses, and the ability to get in/out quickly. Since May, I have been multiple times (4+) and can't complain. I have been able to get both my kids eye exams quickly, with 2 pairs of glasses ordered and delivered. As you can see from other reviews, if you have any sort of vision insurance, this place is prodigiously incompetent in working that out. They simply do not understand how insurance works, and will tell you that you do not have insurance because they can't figure out how to find it in whatever system they are using. Then, they will treat you like you are lying about having insurance. They thought I was trying to use an out of state insurance company because the BlueCross BlueShield card had a Kansas logo on it (because that's where my national employer is based) even though I said multiple times that I live in TN and have TN insurance...and they even have me IN THEIR SYSTEM with my current Spring Hill, TN address. Newsflash - you can't get insurance in Kansas if you live in TN... #healthinsurance101 After talking to my insurance company on the phone, I found out that they didn't even call them to ask. They just acted like I was trying to pull one over on them. One of the ladies working the front desk is particularly snarky and condescending, but the manager John also had the same sort of "well we looked and couldn't find it" sort of shrug their shoulders type of attitude - which is not surprising because culture is produced from the top down. Ultimately, I ended up taking back my insurance card and going to another place off Port Royal - who had the competency to find my insurance. 2nd experience like this at the same location. I think I would've been more pleased if the "doctor" would've just came in wearing no mask, rather than coming into the examination room wearing one, then as he's looking at me and talking, purposefully taking it down off of his nose for the entire exam. It pisses me off more at the absurdity of it, not for exposing me to it. If you are a doctor, what do you think it says to me for you to sit down and look me right in the face and put me on the spot as to whether I will say anything or not as you casually pull your mask down off of your nose. If I could give a 0 I would they didn't go over all of the pricing with me had a "free exam" I say that very loosely. I booked the appointment with Joseph and told him I had a free exam with my insurance. He gave me a time to come in. He said yeah I have everything taken care of for you. They called me to one of the desk the lady that works there went over a $19 charge which is fine. I get my exam my prescription for my contacts and at the end I sit down and I told I have a $20 co-pay plus the 19 dollars plus the $50 fitting which I was not told about and I explained that and they told me I had to take the contacts out because I'm not paying for them. Joseph, the front desk guy said that it was assumed that I would know this information. I said I haven't had an eye exam in years so I did not know that information said it was just assumed so I said what do you do if someone is coming in that's new? just like me because I didn't know everything should have been gone over at the start of the process, not the end!!!!! that's just bad business read more

The customer service at this location is alarming to say the least. After calling and speaking to a lady that was clearly inconvenienced to have to be answering question on a phone call I drove to the store. I was simply looking to replace a pair of glasses that were damaged the day prior that I had ordered at a different Visionworks location. The larger bearded man at the desk immediately stated how "the stores aren't connected" not missing any amount of finality in his tone. He offered to call the other store to get the information. I let him know that I have a prescription from my latest eye exam, and he immediately started asking if it was valid, a question I've never been asked before getting glasses in 15 years. I said I wasn't sure I just had a screenshot of the rx. He repeated 2-3 times, unprovoked, that he couldn't help me if it was expired. Cool... so I asked if he could let me know if they had the frame I was looking for given the name and stock number. He, like his colleague, seemed exhausted at the thought. He looked for a minute and let me know " I don't know man they look penguin, you can look on the wall there". Even if an expired prescription isn't allowed by company policy why didn't this come up before? Why can I order online with an expire rx? Why was it so challenging to get my information from another location? What if I had insurance on the frames? There was one other customer being helped ‍ Bummer they were so overwhelmed at the prospect of helping me reorder glasses. When the order came in, she opened the box to try them only to find out they were completely different contacts and significantly hurt her eyes. Giving two stars only because they ONLY lively, outgoing, person with a personality was the actual Doctor. Cannot recall her name, but she's blonde. Everyone else working there acted like they either hated their job, or just have NO personality... or both. Soon as I got there for my appointment, I gave the woman my insurance cards and told her I had called earlier regarding my insurance and she didn't look at me while talking, and she didn't even say "you can actually just keep those cards since you'll be filling out the papers".. she just left them on the counter and I asked her if she needed them since she didn't pick them up and she said "nope." HORRIBLE customer service skills already being shown at this point. I later get called to the back for my eye exam where I tried to be outgoing with this girl and she wasn't interested. She really made me feel awkward for trying to be nice. Later on, before leaving I was sat down with another younger looking woman and she was dead inside. No smiles.. no conversation.. every time I asked a question she was again.. very dead inside. When I left, no one said bye or to have a nice day or anything. This group of people need to learn how to provide professional customer service instead of looking like a group of dead fish. I really liked the doctor. None of this is about her at all. Came in for new prescription. Saw the sign for half off second pair and thought it a good deal. They directed me to the glasses, said my insurance would help on the frames. After spending $470 on one pair of glasses on $100 dollar frames, they said I don't qualify for the promotion. I needed to spend over $700. Guess that was left out of the small print. Ok three weeks later my progressive glasses arrive. There is no progressive, just real close and real far. Ok, they say I'll get used to them. Try for a couple of weeks and no better. Come back in and all the talk about "service", with signs about "caring"for the customer is gone. It's my problem they don't work right. I must have "moved in my chair" while he was testing me, etc. Eventually, with my lack of willingness to accept the status quo they offered to send them back for an "adjustment". 1 months later, haven't heard a word from them. I would not recommend this place. From the front desk welcome, (which I did not receive). Not as much as a hello, or a good afternoon. To the poor management from someone claiming to be the GM. Nothing was good about my experience. I ended up walking out from my appointment after waiting over an hour and a half. I had an appointment at 3:30 and arrived at 3:00. People without appointments that were claiming they had appointments, with no documentation to prove it, were being allowed to be seen ahead of me. The manager claimed it was due to a computer glitch, however I later found out that was a lie. It was pure mismanagement and confusion on the part of the staff, and the easy excuse was to blame the computer. If you would like to go to a business that doesn't welcome their customers, lies to their customers and has a manager operating a store in total chaos, please do your business here. I went in for my annual eye exam at the Spring Hill, TN location. I usually wear multifocal contact lenses but the doctor suggested I forgo the multifocal and start using reading glasses for close up vision. I left with a trial pair of contact for long distance vision. I realized quickly that these lenses were not going to work because I do too much computer work and cannot be taking readers off and on multiple times. I went in and talked to someone in the contact lens department and they had me go to the front of the store and cover my eyes one at a time and look at an image on the wall to see if it changed location. He then gave me another trial pair with multifocal but said they didn't have my exact prescription in stock but would order the correct ones that correct my astigmatism. I picked up these contacts and still could not see correctly but had opened the box assuming they would be correct. I went back in and they told me that I didn't have an astigmatism?? I have always had one and don't know why they would say they were ordering contacts that would correct it if it didn't show on the exam. I spoke to a new doctor there and he suggested I used one eye for distance and one eye for close reading. I've now tried this and still am unable to see like I could before I ever tried their contacts. I've emailed customer support a week ago and have been told someone will contact me but have not had a call yet. Absolutely do not recommend. In fact, while I was there the last time a lady was sitting beside me waiting for the doctor and told me the exact same story. It appears it's a one size fits all practice. read more
