He have an old faucet in our 100+ year old house and when the pipes froze so did the valve on the faucet. We searched everywhere. This Ace is the only place that carried the replacement and the sales associate was a great help in ensuring we got the correct one. They had lots to choose from! read more

I really like this location. Have been coming here for years. Most days I can find helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable staff. Today at 4pm my friend and I went in to look for a way to fix my son's balancing bike (which we carried in to be sure we could find everything exactly as we need) Inside the store, a lady named Julie who was standing in one of the aisles asked if she could help us with anything. I responded that we weren't sure yet. We went to the back to find the screws/nuts/bolts. To save time searching through the plethora of drawers, I went back to the lady and asked if they had a screw about "this size", showing her the length w my hands. Her response, "if there is, it would be back there." My reaction is - why even ask me if I need help if you're not going to actually help. At least come back and look through some options with me. If I wanted that kind of a response, I would have gone to a Lowe's/Home Depot. Luckily, a tried and true Ace employee, Jeff, an older gentleman, came around the corner to aid us. We were able to brainstorm multiple repair alternatives with what equipment we could find. he helped us find all the proper fittings to complete the project. I gave it 4 stars because my friend later told me that he had experience with this same lady on a previous visit. He had asked about a particular screw and length size. Her response was that she didn't think they had any without giving direct support or offering to help further in the discovery. I figured this place loses 1 star for 2 different negative experiences. At the moment, there's still plenty of others who work there that are competent and helpful, so I will be coming back for future assistance. Maybe Julia just needs more training on what's available in-store to better assist in a more customer friendly manner. read more

It says online "many" will price match. They didn't. I wanted the lady to ask her manager, but she let me know she was a manager and wouldn't do it. Thanks for asking or trying to help us I guess. We will go to Home Depot to get it for less. :-( read more
