    Kingwood

In the past 27 years of living in our home in Kingwood we have had a few occasions where we needed…read moretrees pruned or taken down when they became diseased and dangerous. How nice it is that T&T Tree Service is still in business since 1980, they have done all of our tree work. Tim Jennings is still in charge and shows no signs of slowing down. We had a large oak in our front yard that took a beating from Beryl last year. We had tree company guys knocking at our door quite often saying they could remove the tree, the prices they quoted were very high. I called Tim to come take a look at the tree. Rather than suggest removing it, he said the tree was still healthy but needed to have dead branches and broken limbs removed. One branch had even grown out to the street light and was resting on the arm going out from the pole. Tim's crew not only cleaned up that tree but also took dead limbs and suckers from other oaks and sweet gums making our house look better with more curb appeal. And his price was so reasonable. There are lots of tree cutting services but I highly recommend Tim and his crew at T&T Tree Service.

The owner, Tim Jennings, is a certified arborist who accompanies his skilled crew to the work site every time and personally ensures that the results are aesthetically pleasing and balanced, and that the owner is completely satisfied. One of the most beneficial things they do is "open up" the insides of the trees (most of ours are live oaks and water oaks, but we also have a magnolia and crepe myrtle) to help optimize the amount of sunlight that gets to the yard itself. One of the problems in our tract home subdivision (Woodridge Forest, Porter) is that the original landscapers overplanted live oak trees, so as they grow, less and less sunlight gets to the grass: eventually, instead of a lush lawn, you end up with mostly dirt.

My family and I drove nearly 40 minutes from Bridgeland--through traffic--because we had a gift…read morecard to The Container Store. We hadn't been in years, and we thought it would be a fun family trip to revisit a store we used to enjoy. When we first arrived, we were greeted warmly by the store manager, Christi, who was kind, professional, and had a genuine smile that set the right tone. The store was not busy, so it was fairly quiet, and you could easily hear my children's laughter echo through the aisles. My son is four--curious, energetic, and, like most toddlers, has a knack for exploring things he shouldn't. My one-year-old daughter giggled as he climbed into one of the large bins--yes, the sturdy, weight-bearing type designed to hold storage items. Of course, as any parent would, I told him to get out. He didn't listen immediately (because, well, he's four), but he wasn't hurting anyone or causing damage. Had anything happened, we're responsible parents and would've made it right. That's why I was completely shocked when an employee named John came marching from the opposite end of the store with a stern, unpleasant expression. Without so much as acknowledging us--the parents--he looked directly at my children and said, in a sharp tone, "Hey kids, get out of there because if you break, you buy." Then he turned and walked away. Not only was this incredibly unprofessional, it was completely inappropriate to speak to someone else's children in that manner. You don't approach toddlers with jargon they don't even understand. You address the parents first. His tone, body language, and delivery made the situation feel unnecessarily hostile and condescending--especially toward two very young kids who were simply being kids. Whether John was having a bad day or just lacks basic customer service skills, it was unacceptable. It left me embarrassed, upset, and frankly appalled that this was how a paying customer and her family were treated--especially in a store that prides itself on organization, sophistication, and service. Although Christi was not aware of what had happened during our visit, her calm and gentle spirit at checkout reminded me what great customer service should feel like. She treated us with genuine kindness and professionalism, completely unaware of the negative experience we'd just had with her employee. Unfortunately, her warmth wasn't enough to undo the damage caused by that interaction. This experience has completely changed how we view this location, and sadly, it will be the last time my family and I shop here. I sincerely hope The Container Store addresses this type of behavior and ensures no other family is ever made to feel the way we did that day.

    Statewide Remodeling - Houston

    Statewide Remodeling - Houston

I hired Statewide Remodeling through Home Depot, thinking the association would mean quality…read moreservice and professionalism. I was quoted over $12,000 for a very basic shower remodel, and while this was steep, I went forward assuming I'd be taken care of due to the Home Depot connection. The remodel was completed in July 2024, but within two months, the top hinge on the shower door failed, causing it to come off and rest dangerously on the floor. It took ten days of calling and messaging multiple contacts with no central point of communication before a technician finally arrived. The technician was shocked it took so long, calling it a major safety hazard. The real nightmare began in October when, less than a month after the first repair, the door started loosening again. After sending messages on Thursday and Friday with no response, the door shattered Saturday night while I was in the bathroom, leaving me with cuts on my legs. I sent photos to Statewide Remodeling with no immediate reply, and despite the injury and scattered glass, there was still no urgent response. By Monday, the same contact who had been unresponsive offered to replace the door "at no cost." Given that I had just had this remodel done, this response was insulting and inadequate. To make matters worse, glass was spread all over my bathroom in fine, hazardous shards. My daughter, who I asked to bring me shoes to leave the bathroom safely, was also cut. Who is responsible for the clean up of dangerous powder-like glass, there was no assistance offered, leaving us to manage this on our own. I went and met with a store manager manager at the Home Depot where I first met Statewide Remodeling, she asked me to send a detailed email with pictures etc, which I promptly sent, 4 days later no response from her or Home Depot. Despite my repeated calls, texts, and even multiple emails to the CEO, I've had no response. I do not trust the same people to come and put a new shower door up. This is a safety issue. This experience has been beyond frustrating and disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone to reconsider hiring Statewide Remodeling; my experience has shown they're unresponsive, unprofessional, and unsafe.

I contact Statewide, because it appears that whatever water barrier they put in failed. However first they tried to say there was an existing leak. When i asked if there was existing leak why didn't you tell me so I can fix it before you put the new wall up. Then they backpedalled from the excuse and stopped responding. Be careful if you are going to use this company!
