Rockler Woodworking & Hardware

Rockler Woodworking & Hardware

As someone who is just starting out and wanting to do more woodworking, I am a huge fan of Rockler…read moreWoodworking. I have been to the Southwest Houston location on a few occasions. Coincidentally, I stumbled upon this location totally by accident. I had no idea it existed until I randomly saw their sign. They have a plethora woodworking tools that every woodworker needs in his/her shop. Table saws, lathes, dust collectors, routers are just the beginning of the long list of tools they have. They have various brands such as SawStop, Jet, and Delta. They also have a wide range of items for the woodturner. They have a wide selection of pen blanks if that is something you enjoy doing. I personally do not own a lathe (yet). However, a friend has been teaching me the beginning stages of turning. So far, the only thing I have turned are pens (see my photos). If you are not into woodworking, they still have stuff for you. For instance, they have a wide array of cabinet knobs and handles that you just won't find in the big box stores. They also have ladder kits for bookshelves (I really want one). My next larger purchase is going to be a SawStop table saw. If you are a woodworker and have not heard of a SawStop saw, you need to look up the "sawstop weenie" video on YouTube. Bottom Line: This place is a woodworkers playground. They have everything from A-Z. They also have an array of other hardware items that you probably won't find at big box retailers. If you are into woodworking or simply remodeling your house, you should stop in here for a quick gander. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I would like to thank all the wonderful people at the Spring Rockler Store. Every time I go in the…read morestore they are eager to give advise, even to me as a weekend woodworker. My latest experience was a purchase of the Dust Right 750 Dust Collector. The sales person suggested I may want to consider adding a second stage. So I took his advise and purchased a Super Dust Deputy 4/5 Deluxe Cyclone and built a mobile cart to keep it portable in my garage shop. I added a ramp to the cart so, if needed, I can roll the Dust Right off the cart for servicing. The CFM is still great with all 4" connections. This set up works great for me. See attached photos. Thanks again everyone at Rockler!

NO...buyer beware! Prices are not necessarily any better than a lot of places but their customer…read moreservice is ZERO. I ordered four matching slabs with glass that would be installed side by side as windows. The glass in three of them was exactly the same size but the fourth one was off almost an inch which is very noticeable and the way they are made, it's not possible to shim the problem slab. Our salesman Bill ducked our attempts to talk to him and shoved us off to customer service. Their position is that something must be wrong at our house - unlevel slab or something. The contractor and my architect have sent two sets of photos and a video clearly showing that they made a mistake in manufacturing the 4th slab. Their response has been ridiculous and they refuse to admit that they made a mistake. They finally offered to make another one for 150.00 instead of for free and they will not guarantee that the glass size will match. Now I have to go to another manufacturer and buy something that matches. It's my fault that I didn't notice that their invoice (2100.00) has the outside dimensions of the door but not the glass size so no way to hold them responsible. Considering my experience, do not use this company if you think you might need help after the sale because it does not exist. I owned a small manufacturing company for 30 years and I would have NEVER treated a customer like this when I made a mistake! Mistakes are a way to make a company shine but obviously these folks don't care about their customers or the rule of business that it's cheaper to keep customers than find new ones.
