At the start of a major master bath remodeling, we were sent to Tri Supply in Conroe to pick out…read morebathroom fixtures by our contractor. While the showroom was fantastic and they had lots of choices, the problems we had that our sales rep caused were not handled well. We picked out everything with the Tri Supply sales rep and left. The sales rep emailed us and our contractor the pricing and we had her go ahead and order the majority of the plumbing items, over $3,000 worth. The project progressed and after most of the plumbing and all of the tile work had been finished, the plumber noticed that the parts that we had asked the sales rep to order were not the correct ones and would not work. When we questioned the rep, she said that she remembered what we told her we wanted and she did not know why she had ordered something different! After lots of discussion with the rep, she ordered a new part that would resolve the problem (not what we had originally wanted because that would have required tearing the whole shower out instead of a 4x4 section). She never offered to expedite that part and finally after waiting a week the part came in. In the meantime, the tile installer had to come and tear out the tile that had just been installed. The new part was installed and now the plumber and tile installer are redoing it. The cost for the plumber and tile installer to come back and redo the problem caused by the sales rep should have been covered by Tri Supply, not divided between the homeowner and the contractor. I would never recommend Tri Supply, they obviously don't stand behind their purchases.

I replaced all of my floors, painted the entire shared living areas...but something was missing..... Fire. I had my home built sans fireplace. Mistake. So I set out to correct it. And if you want a fireplace, you need a mantel. And if you're building an entire wall as your mantel, you need some really good pieces of wood to really make it pop. Enter the Mill. If you have ever shopped for live edge slabs, it isn't easy, and it can get pricey. So when I found this place on the googs, it had good reviews, and wasn't too far from my Ma's place. As you can see from the pics, this place has a variety of peices, and it is entirely dependent on what he has in at the time. He gets new pieces every so often too. If you're looking for something in particular, give him a ring and let him know what you're looking for. I've bought about a dozen pieces at this point. I'm buying wood in the raw and finishing it myself, but he also has chairs, tables and other finished products too if you're in the market for something like that. His prices are good, selection is good, and he's good to work with on getting what you need. Give him a shot. One last thing, gps doesn't seem to get the directions right. The mill is is next to and part of an appliance repair shop. Look for the sign, it's right next to the chicken joint. GPS had me a few blocks away, but you can't miss the appliance sign.

As someone who is just starting out and wanting to do more woodworking, I am a huge fan of Rockler…read moreWoodworking. I have been to the Southwest Houston location on a few occasions. Coincidentally, I stumbled upon this location totally by accident. I had no idea it existed until I randomly saw their sign. They have a plethora woodworking tools that every woodworker needs in his/her shop. Table saws, lathes, dust collectors, routers are just the beginning of the long list of tools they have. They have various brands such as SawStop, Jet, and Delta. They also have a wide range of items for the woodturner. They have a wide selection of pen blanks if that is something you enjoy doing. I personally do not own a lathe (yet). However, a friend has been teaching me the beginning stages of turning. So far, the only thing I have turned are pens (see my photos). If you are not into woodworking, they still have stuff for you. For instance, they have a wide array of cabinet knobs and handles that you just won't find in the big box stores. They also have ladder kits for bookshelves (I really want one). My next larger purchase is going to be a SawStop table saw. If you are a woodworker and have not heard of a SawStop saw, you need to look up the "sawstop weenie" video on YouTube. Bottom Line: This place is a woodworkers playground. They have everything from A-Z. They also have an array of other hardware items that you probably won't find at big box retailers. If you are into woodworking or simply remodeling your house, you should stop in here for a quick gander. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My latest experience was a purchase of the Dust Right 750 Dust Collector. The sales person suggested I may want to consider adding a second stage. So I took his advise and purchased a Super Dust Deputy 4/5 Deluxe Cyclone and built a mobile cart to keep it portable in my garage shop. I added a ramp to the cart so, if needed, I can roll the Dust Right off the cart for servicing. The CFM is still great with all 4" connections. This set up works great for me. See attached photos. Thanks again everyone at Rockler!
