Pros: Selection: on the outside the building is small but on the inside I was really taken back at how much inventory was inside. There are fridges, Washer/Dryer, Ovens, Stove Tops, you name it they have it. Keep in mind this is technically a "scratch and dent" store but most of the items are brand new. Price: The set we bought cost $4,800 brand new (Home Depot or Lowe's) and that doesn't include what they would charge for delivery. At the Appliance Outlet we paid $3,100 and that included delivery. We were super happy with the next day delivery and speed of installation. Location: This gem is tucked away in the heart of Conroe. I've lived here 5 years and never heard or seen this spot before, but I'm so glad we saw it!! Akai inspected the entire unit and indicated the issue was the defroster in the freezer wasn't working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me what I thought was a very fair price but before I could say "Shut up and take my money!" he added that when he had unplugged the unit & plugged it back in, when starting up again the compressor sounded a bit suspicious. Thus he indicated I could go ahead and pay him to install a new defroster in the freezer, but it is only a matter of time before the compressor craps out and then replacing it would be over $1,000 and not worth it. So get this....he proposes that I defrost it the old school way by unplugging it, opening both the freezer & fridge doors, placing towels in front of the unit, and allowing all of the ice to melt and then just mop up all the water with towels and my wet vac and that would solve the problem for now. And in a few months when the issue occurs again I can just repeat the old school defrosting method until the compressor finally goes kaput, and then get a brand new refrigerator. Sure enough, I proceeded to do exactly what he recommended and lo and behold the fridge & freezer started working properly again. And I am all too happy to repeat every few months to squeeze every last bit of life from this old fridge until I have to get a new one. Akai could have very easily kept quiet about the compressor sounding sketchy and that it could fail in 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years and gotten a nice service order for replacing the defroster since he had already devoted the valuable time & effort to come to my house. However, he instead chose to be completely honest and forthcoming which is not as common as it should be and is very appreciated. I have saved his contact info and the next time I have any issues with any appliances he will be the technician I call. Knowledge and experience is great and there are a lot of qualified & knowledgeable appliance repair companies out there. However, also possessing honesty and integrity is why I strongly recommend Akai for any appliance repair issues.

A Hotpoint 15.5 Cubic Foot Refrigerator displayed in the showroom area of the Appliance Outlet Store located at 32211 FM 2978 in Magnolia, TX 77354 was purchased on August 29, 2023. The unit we viewed was in pristine condition. The transaction was completed by Mike in the sales department. The unit was delivered the following week by a third-party delivery service contracted by Appliance Outlet. It was shrink wrapped upon arrival and was installed by the delivery personnel in a designated area of our garage between a wall and a shelving unit. Paperwork was signed and the delivery service departed. The front of the refrigerator was flawless, however, closer inspection revealed that there was severe damage to the upper, right-side corner and the upper right side of the freezer door and the lower right side front surface where the refrigerator door seals to the frame. The unit runs more than it should and consumes a lot of energy. Condensation forms inside the refrigerator section because the door will not seal properly. Mike, the salesperson, was contacted immediately. During our conversation, Mike mentioned that he did not recall any damage to the unit we were shown. Mike requested that we text pictures of the damaged areas for evaluation. Several days passed before a response was received by Mike, only to tell us that we needed to contact the customer service department because he was in sales and did not handle customer service or warranty issues. Four calls were placed with the customer service department before a response was finally received. Our request for a replacement unit or a refund was denied, and we have since been ghosted by Appliance Outlet. Two causes for the damage are possible: The first being we were shown the pristine refrigerator in the showroom and a damaged unit from the store warehouse was delivered instead (AKA bait and switch). Or the delivery service did not properly secure the refrigerator in the truck, and it fell over inside the truck while enroute causing severe damage. Neither the Appliance Outlet nor the delivery service will take responsibility or be accountable for the damaged unit.
