I made a purchase of around $140...order included dead bolt locks and exterior door knobs with locks...Well some of the door knob locks had to be installed upside down, because how my door opens. In order to fix this you have to take the knob apart. I was not counting on that procedure, never did it before and I had to complete my job quickly. Well I called Door Locks Direct and they were not very helpful.They told me to call a locksmith. Why did they not mention this when I placed my order. They are the experts and they should have asked me how my doors open , left or right side opening. So beware and ask questions when ordering. They did NOT. read more

Professional, prompt and courteous I built a ceder barn door that was 2 1/4 thick causing myself difficulty trying to find hardware. Recently purchased black quikset strike plates. I received the wrong product initially, and then was sent the correct product a week later. After installing the strike plates, the black paint immediately started to chip away. They offered zero reimbursement, nor did they offer to send a replacement. If this is a known problem, why is there not a disclaimer on their website? And better yet, why sell the product at all if it doesn't last for more than a couple days? read more

This is my third order from DoorLocksDirect.com and it really is as good as it gets. Our most recent two homes had mixed door hardware -- brass, chrome, different handles: go figure! For the first home, the choices and prices were the best we found and everything arrived as expected. On the second order, we were concerned that, as we get older, round door handles could be a problem so we looked on their web site and found handle sets that matched our existing lever handles. Also, there were unusual hinges to be replaced; Customer Support got us through those complexities and, on arrival, everything worked! The third order was for pieces we had undercounted and it took only a couple of minutes for them to pull up the last order, select the additions and put in the order. I did, however, need different strikes than what came with the locksets, but they replaced those with the ones I needed. Despite with large order with a couple of "customizations", the order arrived CORRECTLY in 5 business days! Jean, I believe her name was, who usually answers the phone is very pleasant and thorough with your orders. One of the levers was scratched due to poor packaging at the manufacturer, but Jean sent out a replacement right away. It's rare for me to write a review on any business, but I was so impressed with Door Locks Direct, I just needed to share! We got new storm doors and wanted to change all our door hardware to a new style, and have all our locks keyed alike. Tried to get some at Home Depot, but it was near impossible to get so many sets all in the same style and finish, let alone keyed alike. I did a Google search and found this company online. I am somewhat wary of ordering things online from companies I'm not familiar with, but I took a chance with this one. Ordering was super easy, and they make sure you understand what you need to order. If you order multiple locks, as long as they are made by the same manufacturer (i.e. Kwikset), they will key ALL of them alike if you wish. I ordered my locks late Sunday evening, got an emailed shipping notice Monday, and they were on my front porch Tuesday...crazy fast shipping! They are also in Texas, so that helped speed things up, I'm sure. :D The locks cost a bit less than the ones we considered at Home Depot, and while we did have to pay for shipping, it was definitely well worth it.
