Have been going to this nursery for several years. It was purchased by a landscaping company and renamed Huatan over a year ago. There are no longer the beautiful plants they once had. No spring flowers as they didn't grow them, the maintenance of the trees/plants at the facility is poor and there is only a handful of the staff there used to be. It is no longer the once bustling Nursery with beautiful plants it once was. Save yourself the trip! read more

Purchased 5 of the same plants 4 survived and 1 died within 2 weeks. They would not replace even though all were planted in same soil, same amount of water and nutrients ... definitely would not purchase here again. I believe there should be at least a 30 day guarantee-so disappointed! read more

I have been here on several occasions and today they were absolutely packed at 10AM on a Thursday. People are still searching everywhere to replenish their landscaping after the horrible freeze. This was my third stop (only bc it is the farthest from me) at a nursery. The first two didn't have the trees I was looking for. This place has a HUGE selection of trees, bushes, filler plants and soils. Lots of employees were walking around to help customers. I was hoping to find 2-3 15-30 gallon Eagleston Holly trees since I knew they withstood the ridiculous freeze.They had about 10 45 gallon Eaglestons. Since I hadn't seen them anywhere else I got two at a fair price. They were just delivered the night before. Chandler helped me pick out the best trees and mark them and Cricket gave me some good information. Delivery is based on distance and was less than a week out and was a flat cheap price no matter how much or little you were getting. Check out only took about 10 minutes. This is more a place for the novice gardener who isn't worried about paying a bit (ok, in all fairness, a LOT more) to get advice and hand-holding. The selection is ok, rather typical for the greater Houston area. There's no focus on natives which is a shame. read more

Spring Gardens is fabulous! We were in search of several large trees that would not break the bank. I had almost given up hope that there was a large tree grower alternative to Big Tex (don't go to Big Tex, WAAAAAAY overpriced, more than twice as expensive!) in the North Houston/ Spring area. We pulled in to Spring Gardens on the fly one day as we were driving around thinking they probably did not have anything larger than 30 gallon trees. Man was I wrong! This place is big and sprawling with tons of large and HEALTHY trees. They are very knowledgeable and seem to take great pride in caring for the plants. Everything was in amazing shape. Plus you can get some great deals on larger trees that are still in smaller pots (smaller pot, smaller price) They drove my wife and I around in their golf carts through rows of trees until we knew exactly what we wanted. Delivery and planting was also quick and reliable. Every one I encountered here was super friendly and genuine (not in a slimy salesman way) Amazing selection of healthy Crepe Myrtles that are actually pruned correctly with at least 4 -5 trunks. This place grows almost all their stuff so you are keeping your money local. We will be back! read more

SPRING GARDENS NURSERY - I have loved having this nursery so close to our home for a long time now, and we have purchased many plants from them in the past. However, a few months ago we called up and spoke to Jose about getting some yellow Angel's Trumpet for our front yard. He told us that they only had pink and white on hand, but that he could order some yellow ones from Florida and have them here in a week or so. We asked for the larger plants so they would mature sooner. This all happened during the time that I-10 flooded and delayed all of the shipments coming via truck this way from Florida, so of course it took a lot longer than expected. When they finally came in Jose called us immediately and we drove over and were surprised to see that they had only received smaller plants, but we went ahead and purchased two, spending more than we had originally wanted. In about a month I began to notice some other issues with our flowerbeds, so I went over to get some products and advice on how to handle the issues. The computers were down that day, so after standing in line for almost an hour waiting on them to come back up, the lady quickly rang me up and I rushed out the door to pick up the kids from school late. Later I noticed that I had been overcharged on one product by $6 (purchased 3). I figured I would just mention it the next time I came in for something else. Then the Angel's Trumpet began to bloom - pink. We were so disappointed. I went up there with photos of my blooming Angel's Trumpet and my incorrect receipt from last time expecting some kind of resolution. I spoke with the man at the front desk who informed me that Jose was busy, but that he would give him my message and he would be calling me. This was three weeks ago and I have not heard from Jose, and the man never even offered to refund the money they overcharged me. All of this on top of the fact that one time we went in and chose some rose bushes that I really loved, and one of the workers offered to put the plants up by our car while we continued to look around. When we came back from perusing the plants our roses were gone. Apparently they were loaded into another car, and there were no more like it left. So, in a nutshell, after waiting much longer than anticipated, I spent more on two plants than I wanted to, they ended up not even being what I ordered, and they would not refund me the money they overcharged on products. When I posted the above comments on their Facebook page they blocked me. TERRIBLE customer service. read more

Jose came right up to us and ask us if we needed help and proceeded to give us a walk through of all the potential plants, shrubs and flowers we might want to consider for our yard....even provided us with a cold bottle of water. I drove up, parked, 15 minutes after they "closed", yet their gates were still open. With an angry 1 year old in the back, I'm praying somebody here can just answer one question. A man comes out and yells from the building "We're closed!" I'm a Marketing Representative for Costco. Customer service is huge to me. And for someone to yell that at me, from across an entire parking lot, before I could even shut the door of my car? Kind of an awful, one second experience. I had never been there, or to any plant nursery, and just wanted to know if they carried lattice. That's it. That's all. The LEAST this man could have done was ask me if I had a question. I ask people that at Costco all the time. I didn't want a fucking tour of the establishment. I just wanted to know if they carried LATTICE. Needless to say, I will never return to this place of business. If I could give it a zero rating, I would. read more

Great customer service! We purchased a gift certificate that Spring Gardens Nursery donated to a charity auction last year for the installation of an overhead garden. Due to the floods last April we were delayed in redeeming it. The employees that arranged the certificate are no longer working there but after meeting with the owner he agreed to honor the gift certificate and personally came to our home within a few days and installed the boxes, rain barrels, etc. for the overhead garden. Spring Gardens Nursery also experienced great loss due to the floods last April, but continue to provide excellent service for their clients. read more
