I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Decor has been extremely disappointing. Back in July, I ordered garage door panels with the windows on the left side. After waiting over five weeks for delivery, the panels arrived with the windows on the wrong side -- despite the fact that I had provided clear photos from the very beginning. Since then, communication has been slow and inconsistent. I was told on July 28th that the correct panels were on order with an expedited lead time of three weeks, but that timeframe passed long ago and I've still received no clear updates or resolution. The only messages I've received in months have been vague promises that they were "waiting to hear back from the supplier." This mistake was not mine, yet I'm the one bearing the inconvenience, delays, and frustration. What should have been a straightforward order has dragged on for months without accountability or follow-through. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend Decor to anyone looking for reliable service or communication. read more

The selection they have was a bit overwhelming, but the patience of the staff helped us to make an excellent choice for us. Very bad experience with installation and customer service. 1st, our installer apparently mis-measured our cabinet pull handles and drilled the mounting holes in the wrong location in not one, but SEVEN of our expensive cabinet drawers. He subsequently re-drilled the correct mounting holes and because of the style of our handle pulls, was able to cover up this mistake so that it does not show from the front. He did not bother to mention to my wife that he had done this. Before he left he asked her if she was pleased with the installation job, of course she said yes because she was unaware of the damage at that time. It was only after he left while she was cleaning the drawers did she discover what she described to me as excessive marring, marking and splitting on the inside of the cabinet drawers. I looked at it and initially thought the same thing, that perhaps a template jig had dug in and gouged the inside of the drawers. I was livid and immediately called the store. I explained my issue to the manager on duty told him I wanted the gouges to be filled and blended. I was assured the "Installation" manager would call me back and get in touch with me to resolve. This was about 4 PM and they close at 5PM. Did not hear anything that evening. While I was waiting to hear back, I removed one of the new pulls to get a better look at what may have happened, and was floored to see the 2 extra holes. How sloppy and unprofessional! Now I am really mad. There is no way our hardware can be swapped out in the future unless it's design lends itself to cover these extra holes. Very few would. The only way for it to be truly fixed would be to reface the drawers with new matching panels. So I take the next day off of work and waited until about 10:40 AM expecting the installation manager to call..they never did. So I call the store and spoke to the same general manager who said that the installation manager should have called me by now. Apparently, they were "in the field" I asked that they be contacted and to have them call me ASAP to get this resolved. 2 hours later, the installer who did the work called me back and told me he was told to call me and to resolve this issue. He asked me what I did not like about his install!! When I told him about the extra holes, he had no choice but to fess up and admit that yes there where now extra holes in my cabinet drawers, but he did not say anything because they could not be seen from the outside. At this point he asked what would make me happy and I said my 7 drawers replaced and a full refund of my installation costs. He then explained to me that he was a sub contractor (a fact not disclosed either verbally or in writing from Decor Builders at the time of purchase) and that he alone was responsible to fix this. Finding this out, I feel bad for him and compromise. I and tell him that while having the extra holes sucks, If he would be willing to have the inside of the drawers filled and blended with matching wood filler, I could live with that. He said he would have that done for me ASAP. This installer was truly apologetic, contrite, understood where I was coming from, and was willing to work with me to resolve this issue. I truly appreciated it. He remained in contact with me via text several times that day trying to find a carpenter at his cost to fix my drawers. When he sent me a text saying he was going to take the next day off of his work to arrange getting my drawers fixed, I ultimately felt compassion for him as a fellow blue collar worker and told him to not do that and that I just appreciated the effort that he made to fix this. I have subsequently made my own arrangements at additional cost to me to have my drawers repaired. While my installer was ultimately to blame for the damage, This review is not about him, it is about Décor Builders Hardware. So here goes; 1. They do not tell you they use sub-contractors for their installation jobs for which they will not take responsibility for or stand behind their work. 2. Instead of putting their big-boy pants on, taking responsibility, dealing with me directly, and doing whatever it takes to make this right, they threw the sub-contractor under the bus and expected him to take any financial loss for the subsequent repair. This is highly unethical from my point of view, you do not treat hard working people like that. Yes, my installer made a mistake, everybody does. But Décor Builders Hardware could far more easily afford to take the financial hit on this one than my installer. They should have just made it right me and then use their discretion as to whether or not use my installer again. 3. No one from Décor Builders Hardware has called me back to even see if my issue was resolved. No service after the sale here folks. I should never have been put in a position to work this out myself with a sub-contractor, and I will never use this establishment again. read more

Absolutely zero help. Explained to the receptionist what i was needing and she directed me over to the display walls. I wandered aimlessly for about 30 minutes with little information about the samples posted...no one ever approached me to see if I had questions or needed any pricing. What a strange visit! We're renovating our house, top to bottom, so we visited for new door hardware for all doors, pulls, knobs, etc. Lovely showroom, but when we were assigned a (YOUNG!) salesperson, she was either shy or bored. I asked what the lock feature for the privacy door handles looks like, and she half-heartedly leafed through a catalog, and said, "There's no picture." Hmmm, I tapped a few times on my phone and SHOWED her the darn picture. Wow. Then when we asked about delivery, she said a minimum of six weeks. We asked about paying for expedited delivery, and we got a shrug. We excused ourselves, went to our car in the parking lot, called up a general door hardware website, got on the phone, and had our order in 10 minutes. It arrived two days later, free shipping. And when we showed up again to order our hardware, voila! No order no notes NOTHING! Oh and no apology either...really! My husband and I went into the showroom on a whim. I was there for over an hour just looking at the great selection. It is huge! We ended up purchasing the hardware we were looking for as well as knobs and barn door hardware, etc. I love this place! The prices are competitive and the service is fantastic. I've used Decor on 3 previous custom homes. Went for my remodel and was assigned to Erica. Worst experience possible. Took almost 3 weeks to get a quote and then never got a call back to answer questions regarding my quote. They lost my $8000+ worth of business because they didn't have time for me. read more

I am very disappointed with Decor Hardware. We bought all of our hardware there for our home. Half of the knobs for our mudroom are installed and now after 5 months of waiting, Decor says they cannot get the rest. We asked if they could take the few knobs that were installed back so we could select something else. The answer was NO. That's the way to keep a customer coming back, right??? They have been totally incompetent with our selections. The first person who was helping me quit in the middle of our build and things became confusing. Don't bother with this place. You can get everything, even high end selections, on line much cheaper. read more

awful!!!!!! the hardware we wanted they did not have in stock so we had to ordered it. when it came in 2 pieces were missing. they resubmitted the order but supposedly the computer "kicked" the order out of the system so they resubmitted again. we were told it would be here on a Thursday no one called us to let us know the status. so we went on Saturday to pick it up. We got the time they opened mixed up and we arrived an hour before they opened. this particular morning staff got to work early but would not open the door for us even though they saw us standing outside with our 4 month old baby. the girl there kept telling us she would not open the door until 9am an hour later. after calling the manager and telling him what happened he said she should have came to get him that he would have opened the door. he said he was sorry. then we came back at 9am and was told the order did not get in as promised and we would not get our hardware until Monday. our client has now waited 3 weeks to complete their order. they are rude and had no solution to make up for there carelessness we will never use them again they could care less about their customers read more
