WOW, fabulous local color!!! I've been a huge fan of Ace Hardware since the day many years ago when I walked in and explained that I needed help finding the best product to fix my stopped up sink - and they did, telling me what to choose and how to be careful with it and why it was the best. A few days ago, two locals were telling me about the nearby Ace location and how it had all these supplemental mini shopping sections in it. Well, in my search for a Thanksgiving Day guest gift to take with me to someone's house, I decided to run over to look in the Ace gift store and other departments. The solution came when I found myself in front of the fudge counters. I sampled, decided on my top six flavors, and bought two boxes that I can take with me as a nice gift on Thanksgiving Day. Go ahead and steal the idea if you don't know what to show up with when you're a guest and, yes, once a year it's OK to eat fudge. Anyway, this is the most amazing store. Lots of Consuela handbags in the gift department along with 1 million other things. You can smell the popcorn popping away in the machine upfront. It just goes on and on, the kind of place to roam for hours. I think I fell in love with this particular Ace Hardware when I noticed walking in that on the outside of the building roof they advertise that they sell "doohickies". :-) read more

Sticklers For Policy Had an item purchased in late December 2025-wrong size chainsaw chain, unused, still in the box. I didn't have a receipt, but the cashier was able to locate the purchase associated with my Ace Rewards phone number. It's early February 2026. I politely requested an exchange, if possible, for another chain. Didn't ask for a refund, just an exchange. Nope, you are past the 30 days, that's our policy. Fair enough, can't argue with the facts, their choice. Customers have choices too. I have spent thousands of dollars at Ace Hardware stores in the past few years. I don't go to this store often, that is likely to continue to be the case. read more

Love this store as it retains much of the small town charm from when Cypress was small and before the radiation that is Houston consumed the area. Have spoken with many people who are very knowledgeable and courteous. Way more service than I get in any Home Depot or Lowes. I thought Ace Hardware was supposed to be a friendly place?! We (family of 4) visited with full intention to buy a new Green Egg Grill with lots of accessories. We waited in the section for 30 minutes with no help. The whole while this rude big boned employee lady stared at us with eagle eyes (whispering to other employees to look at us) but no one offered to help or call for help. Instead treating us like we were trying to steal something. 30 employees with red aprons all standing around the store gossiping to each other. We always try to support local but apparently this Ace store location doesn't realize there are plenty of other options to buy the same products. Questioning quality of service and customer value on this company or at the least this location. Purchased box fan when I lost electricity last Monday due to Beryl. Ended up not using fan because there was another one more powerful being used at the place I sheltered at. Drove across town to return it and try to get money back since being out of work due to the storm and in addition to not using or needing it. They refused to refund to card it was purchased with. Only refund offered was to store credit. I don't shop there and wasn't planning on it in the future. Thought it in poor taste to not allow full refund when people are in distress and affected. Seems company would have rather profited from customers in the midst of a natural disaster than to actually have been in assistance. There was a sign on checkout counter that said certain items not fully refunded, fan was not listed. If you are changing your refund policy only during natural disasters then maybe make a slight effort at transparency by mentioning at time of purchase or list it on receipt. Most things considered this is a pretty good store. Store owner isn't very intelligent and won't price match a direct website discounted price. I told the employee I would rather give them the business (profit) and was told they wouldn't match the price, no matter what. I politely told them, so you are turning down a pretty significant purchase that the manufacturer is offering. I also added this is just bad business turning away business because you don't think you have to. Anyway, I'll purchase the item directly from the manufacturer, this is dumb to me. read more

Heather answered and when I asked my question (i have a QR code to send a package back) she was so helpful and offered a solution which didn't even involve me coming by the store. I was so surprised at her willingness to help and although I didn't visit the store, Heather and the team deserve a great review! What a cool store! In this age of Home Depot and Lowe's how can we forget their predecessor, Ace Hardware. Yes it's much smaller and without that high roof that allows them to stack goods two stories high, this is the way it used to be. I've been here before and realized that I hadn't written a review. So here goes. This store has its own parking lot on Jones Road. After entering immediately you arrive at a help desk where a red vested employee is there to give you directions. For a moderately sized store it has a lot of content with an old timey country store feel. One immediate observation I made was how many other red vested employees were working there. I must have been asked 6 times in my 20 minutes in the store if I needed any help. If you are looking for assistance it's very easy to get it here. Customer service is impressive and prices seem to be competitive too. Another cool aspect of this store is that it has its own US Post Office (I am serious) and a kitchen that makes and sells its own fudge! This is a great place to visit and just browse. One of the signs on the building exterior says they have doohickies. I think that about says it all. read more

Post office is not good. They do not give receipts so if you mail a package, you can't track it. Also they are always out of supplies.

To me this is the best Ace Hardware anywhere don't understand any negative reviews they are totally unfounded and just BS in my opinion, I shop Ace Hardware in a couple of states and by far this is the best period! I've never been in an ACE that's this big and varied before. After the blizzard we came down to help out my mother in law and came to this location for a few supplies. It was extremely crowded and there was a line of over 20 people in the middle of an aisle just for plumbing, which made it hard to get around. So it's hard to comment on customer service since it was so chaotic. They did have multiple registers going though. I know I didn't see the full extent of what they had to offer since they had certain areas roped off, I think to manage the plumbing line. I will say the only thing we looked for that they were out of was propane, I think the entire state was out of propane though. It appeared they were the best stocked place we went to. The signage is fairly organized and we were able to find the rest of what we needed and some additional items fairly easily. They had separate sections for gardening and even an assortment of welcome mats and mail boxes. Basically, if you head to the right upon entering, it's all the typical things you expect to find at a hardware store. If you veer to the left they had fudge, some sort of food stand and a room the size of a typical hardware store that was full of grills, pet supplies, cards and gifts. I was not expecting this kind of selection and really enjoyed browsing and purchasing all those little extras. They even offer gift wrapping and have a postal service! Honestly, I'm not sure how much time you need to spend there to see everything or what the actual square footage is, but it's the coolest hardware store I've ever been to! 4 stars for the selection alone! read more

This is the first time I've ever been in this store and not been greeted or asked if I needed help. I actually needed help this time and three workers including the manager wearing the black shirt who picked up a hat that was on the floor 4 feet away from me did not stop once to acknowledge me or ask if I needed any help. He looked at me or my mask two or three times but never said anything. Definitely weird , I'm assuming he was the manager! I'll go to Lowes or Home Depot next time. What a great store! Your handyman can shop in the hardware section while the rest of the group can browse the gift shop! Staff is always friendly and helpful. I love the fudge bar and always grab a piece or two or six to enjoy later! They also have a small post office that provides great service! I am always super happy when Kate is working in there. What is this crazy place?! It's more than just a hardware store! They have all sorts of craft cane sugar drinks, there's a fudge booth inside where they sell unbelievably delicious looking fudge, and there's also a post office. OK Google wheres the nearest post office led me to here. It's almost like this place should be out on the interstate because there's all sort of interesting products and food they sell. You've got to love a place that advertises "doohickies" along the front of their building. I love this Ace Hardware- it's huge and is like a hardware store, a livestock feed store, and the best of Buc'ees all rolled into one. Plus it has a full service US post office! I always appreciate the smiling, helpful faces and the tasty fudge samples as I peruse the most recent innovations in wine glasses or kitschy decor. Go here, even if you don't need hardware. Ace and Coronavirus. Terrible!! Sue them! None of the EMPLOYEES wore masks. ESPECIALLY THE EMPLOYEES IN THE ISLES. I AN UPDATING MY FINDINGS from June 5th; it is no wonder we had a second wave. I got out of there quick. IF YOU GOT COVID whILE the earlier mask order was still in effect, AND HAVE A DATED RECEIPT FROM ACE, I suggest you SUE CYPRESS ACE HARDWARE. Most customers in the store did NOT have masks. Social distancing was impossible in main isles jammed with displays. Side isles were a joke with 2 or more people. No distancing at all. NO EFFORT WAS MADE TO CONTROL NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN STORE. Costco requires masks with or without orders. MASKS PROTECT OTHER PEOPLE FROM YOUR VIRUS. So please do not give me that BS: "it's my decision to wear a mask or not; it ain't a-hurtin' nobody 'cept me" I need to shop. But it is not life or death. CV-19 is up 50% in Harris county as of June 6. Please put on a mask and leave the kids at home. I am not coming back until they have safety protocols. A few pieces of plexy glass does not cut it. This is actually a pretty good Hardware store. They've improved upon it over the past year. Though a little more expensive than Home Depot or Lowes, they do offer a good variety of hardware and home-related items to choose from. And they are a lot closer to home for me. The main thing I like about them is that you can actually find someone to help you! At Home Depot or Lowes, good luck in finding anyone at all to help you at all. Most of the customer service reps are very nice. I also like the fact that the management hires teens and/or high school kids. The best hardware store I have ever been too. This is the home town store! Lots of friendly people that can actually give advice. Not just kids that have no clue, that some stores hire. A good hardware store is vital for a DIY homeowner. This store is full and stocked right! They defiantly keep up on ordering. Lots of good high quality items, the brands your looking for! This is not a review about Ace Hardware Store, but about the service I received at the Post office inside the store. I was standing in line waiting to drop off my package when the cashier over looked me to wait on the next customer in line, and I said to her, ma'am I'm next in line and her response was: She is a VIP customer and she has to be waited on 1st, and I said NO!!!!!! I'm next in line and have been waiting for over 10 minutes for service, so I should be next, and she told the lady to come to the back to get her packages and she over looked me and at that point I followed them to the back door and said Ma'am I'm next next in line and she has to wait her turn, she ignored me and I went to get the manager of the store to complain and nothing was done at that point, but the manager said he would talk to her and I said No!!!! We both will talk to her. I explained what she did was wrong and disrespectful and I should have been waited on 1st, the manager apologized and the customer apologized to me but the cashier did not , and I told the manager the cashier was wrong for what she did. I doubt that anything was done to change how customers are treated, but I will not be utilizing the post office at this location because of the disrespect shown to customers who look like me. read more

I just tried to do a return with my receipt and they only allowed me to return a portion of my items. The cashier said oh no these have been discontinued you have to keep them. Excuse me? Not only did I have my receipt but I had the unopened product. How is that my fault that your store decided to not sell a few of these items of the exact same brand name. I could understand if I didn't have a receipt or the item did not pull up in their system, but I did have the receipt and the item showed in their system. I frequent this store regularly and even have a active account so this is very disappointing to me. No one said I'm sorry for the inconvenience or got a manager to help.
