I was greeted at the front by a friendly lady who guided me to what I was looking for. She went above and beyond with explaining the different types of pesticides and her personal experiences and recommended methods of application (scatter the boric acid around instead of a straight line for roaches, which I didn't know!). It was a lot of fun browsing the store because there was so much to take in. The layout is like an antique store but for hardware, from plumbing to doorknobs to cleaning supplies, they had just about everything. I had an extremely great experience at Southland and will be back! And do not fret about parking, there is a large - by Montrose standards - parking lot in the back.

Some of the selections are 150 year old original pieces, others reproductions that are dated and some new. If you are looking to spice up your boring home with some rustic, antique ambiance, take a visit in and see for yourself. The owner, Susan, is exceptionally helpful, having been a furniture restorer for most of her life. Granted, some of the prices can be a little steep; this is especially true of the used, original pieces as these are now relics of another era; the replicas can be substantially cheaper and look just about the same.

Also we have an antique wood chair that has spindle legs and cross pieces. One of the cross pieces which was a brace had split badly. They had matching wood and made a spindle replacement for it.
