I first visited the store in Conroe in October 2021 in search of a tool for my new hobby - quilting. Being a novice sewer and an absolute newbie in the world of quilting I had no idea what to look for in a sewing machine. When I entered the store I was promptly greeted by Janice asking how she could help me... I told her I wasn't sure and told her what I would like to do. She showed me several machines and the different features and I made up my mind to get the Janome S5. At that time I was offered an instructional class on how to operate all the features on the machine - we set a date for January 2022. I arrived at the class with limited knowledge of my machine and Janice once again showed me in depth the features about my machine. She is extremely patient and knowledgeable about the machines. I feel confident that I will enjoy making many memorable creations. I also like the fact that the employees in the store make you feel comfortable and there is no such thing as a dumb question...lol. My beloved sewing machine died, I had it for a very long time, it was such a workhorse. Unfortunately it was of the age that parts were no longer available. So I started my search looking for a machine that was at least comparable. I settled on a Janome machine and called around. I spoke to James at the Conroe location. James was very informative and understood exactly what I was looking for. Based on his recommendation I purchased EXACTLY the machine I wanted and needed. Absolutely no pressure to deviate from what I was looking for, so refreshing. When checking out, James inquired what type of thread I used. I was very pleased to know that he understood the benefits of quality thread and how it behoves the sewist to use that thread rather than what is cheaper. I have been shopping here for the past 2 years. I love their quilting fabrics. Their selection includes fabrics I haven't seen anywhere else. They have a scissor and blade sharpening service that I have used. Anytime I shopped I always checked out their sewing machines and have made inquires. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. A few days ago I took the plunge and bought a new machine. The service was great. Susan unpacked the machine with me and went some of the features. We visited the Sewing & Vacuum Warehouse, the Conroe location. We traveled almost 200 miles from our home. We were very pleased with our experience there and we will be going back. I purchased my first embroidery machine. We were very pleased with the immediate attention we were given, the very friendly and helpful staff and the availability of products in the store. The price was better than other places we visited. The extended warranty and extra goodies were very much appreciated. We will be going back for free classes to better understand the use of our machine. We'll be able to save 20% on our store purchases for a year, what a blessing. Amazing experience, starting with having Quentin guide me through the back roads to the store after my GPS took me off the beaten path. Upon arrival, I was greeted immediately and was assisted in bringing my massive embroidery machine in for service. In no time at all I was out the door and on to other errands. The service was completed earlier that expected and picking the machine up was just as fast and easy as before. In fact, I was so impressed I brought my serger to be serviced. I had spent a good month reviewing different machines based on what I was wanting. It was after five years I decided to buy a machine that sewed, embroidered and quilted. I had gone to many locations but Janice Broussard is the individual who sold me my machine. She has been sewing since she was five years old. Visited their booth at Festival 2025! Although they did not have the machine I wanted on display at the show they offered to honor show pricing from a competitor since I was in the area and said they would special order and call me when it was in! It was in the Monday after the show. I worked with Tammi, who was Terrific Tammi! She not only helped me finalize the order but help me get a table insert for my new machine! While in the store I picked up some accessories and fabric. They has a great selection of both! I was on the hunt for a new sewing machine and I spent a lot of time researching various models and started going to different shops to test them and feel what the customer service was like, before I purchased! and I really like the atmosphere here. Everyone is super helpful and non-pushy and let me try out all different types of machines to help me decide on the right sewing machine. I took my machine in for cleaning. Janice was very helpful and after discussing the problems she said she would be happy to put it in for service but since my machine is 22 years old I should think about replacing it. They had a sale on the same brand and it was only $100 somewhat more than the maintenance on my machine. I bought the new machine and she gave me a class, one on one, to make sure I knew all the "new" things this machine could do. If your looking to purchase a new machine please go and ask for Janice. The staff, James, Tammy, and Susan, are always helpful and knowledgeable about their products. I have been very pleased with their employees and their how they treat their customers. They are people to and can have an off day. I have always had good and polite and sometimes yes over attentive sales people. But as the customer I let them know what I need and then things run smoothly.
