a woman using a laptop in a coffee shop
Frank M.

I don't go to coffee shops on a regular basis. I know that coffee shops are a second home for some people. When I am in the mood to take a break and sit for awhile sipping coffee, my neighborhood Spot Coffee is where I like to go. I always order the Granda Decaf Cappuccino and sometimes I'll get something sweet from their dessert case. They have a frequent buyer punch card that once full of punches, you get free stuff. It's taking a while but I'm getting close to filling the card. Also it's great that they have free wifi.

I really like this Spot Coffee location. We stopped there in the middle of the afternoon for a cappuccino. Usually I just drink black coffee but sometimes I just have a craving for a cappuccino. When this happens we stop here. There were probably a dozen or so people inside. Quite a mixture of people. Everything from folks at laptops working, a mother and a couple kids, a few older gentlemen, a high-school girl with her mom and coach taking about college options (could hear their conversation), etc etc. And us. We ordered our cappuccino, decaf this time since it was later in the afternoon and grabbed a nice croissant to go along with it. Was not really hungry but who can resist the baked good case. Cappuccino tasted nice and creamy. I added a dash of cinnamon and enjoyed my cup with my croissant. Nice way to relax for a while after being out shopping. 2021-188

I ordered iced coffee since they don't have cold brew. It was "Japanese style" which turns out is just a fancy way to say pour hot coffee over ice. It was disgusting. Tasted like pouring the left over warm Folgers in a Mr. Coffee over ice. If you're a coffee shop that can't make a decent cup of iced coffee, what are you doing?! My real frustration came when I ordered an egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant which the sign said was a $1.45 upcharge. I thought that was a little steep but love a croissant. When I got my receipt, I learned a croissant is actually a $3.40 UPCHARGE!!! So my egg and cheese sandwich was $12! I can't fathom there is any food vendor charging you anywhere near this to justify this kind of upcharge. When I pointed the difference on the sign vs. the register to less than friendly woman behind the counter she said "oh" and shrugged and then never changed it while I was there so for all I know they just keep doing this. I don't understand how they are still around.

A Chicken Pesto panini that I forgot to take a picture of before I took a bite out of it.

This location seems to be hit or miss for a lot of people - fortunately for me, it's usually a hit. I come here once in a while, usually to do a little bit of work and get out of the house. I know I can get a good, thick omelet here with a bagel as my bread on the side, and I typically always get a chai latte which is typically on point every time I order it. I've come here during the week, on mornings and in afternoons, and they never really seem to be busy. I like that about this location, in comparison to the one in Williamsville which is always swamped and takes forever to get your order out. Just recently I ate here around dinnertime for the first time, and I think my panini came out in under five minutes. The food here is pretty good - I wish Spot's menu was a little more extensive in general, but I guess you don't want to make this place a full-blown breakfast or lunch spot. I'll pick it over the Williamsville Spot, but I'll also pick any other local coffee shop over this one. Still, I know it's pretty reliable when it comes to finding something good to eat, and being a place where I can get some work done in peace.

I don't give a foccacia

Worst customer service ever. 1 star. Will update soon. I spotted this place when I was a teenager and fell in love with their Chicken Pesto Foccaccia. It's not as good as it was, but it's still tasty. The original Spot Coffee Downtown on Delaware is still the best one. But this location is excellent for Clarence because it has tons of comfortable seating and really lovely decor and very very nice service. They make the same sandwiches as downtown does. The chicken Focaccia with pesto is really good but doesn't taste quite as flavorful as it used to. Maybe the years are playing tricks on me. Also I tried their mocha shake and honestly it didn't really get me going. It was too heavy on the coffee. But my coffee loving friend really enjoyed finishing it off for me. I said finishing IT off, you have a dirty mind.

Hummus wrap with greens

Spot is a kind of place where you can relax and enjoy some good food with friends. I ordered a hummus wrap with cucumber, tomato, and spinach. It was very good, but at times the hummus would overdo the rest of the wrap. You can either pick greens or chips to go with it. I heard the chips are very yummy, but I picked greens instead to try and feel healthier. The customer service people were nice and welcoming as soon as I walked in. The music in the background was nice and I like the decor of the coffee house. I would 10/10 recommend spot to anyone who likes to chill out and enjoy a good meal.

I love this location as it is near my house, and the staff are nice. The patio is great in warm weather, the bar area along the window is a good seating option if you are alone and need an outlet, and there are many seating options if you have a variety of people in your party. I like their breakfast sandwiches, the Mike Sandwich being the best! It can be busy during obvious peak times but I've never had a problem needing to wait too long.

I love Spot and this is a good location. The food is always fresh and good and the employees are helpful and knowledgeable.

$5 Belgian Waffle

Love love LOVE this place. I come frequently and I'm always happy and today was no different. This particular location has a special on Belgian waffles for only $5 on weekends. They have several choices such as the original, which I choose, but also apple cinnamon or banana with chocolate or caramel. It was very good. I was with someone during this visit so we also shared a Mike sandwich with sausage. There were lots of flavors on the sandwich and the cream cheese made it stay moist and delicious. For a drink I got the Mucho Cinco Shake. I think this is the perfect blend of strong coffee and sweetness. Just don't get it if you're counting calories!

Cool little place. Good food items and drinks. Slower service than I'd like at a coffee shop but overall a good experience.

Next time I might come and get a couple beers or ciders. They have a lot of drink options available at the bar. The area is super cute and you can book a private area in a separate room for events but there's still enough seating in the general area. The service is great and the bartender was super nice! Like c'mon! Imagine, you can have a cocktail and/or an appetizer and relax reading a book on the couch. Yes, I love this idea, I'm all about it. The place is small but seating is nicely spaced out, it's super cute and cozy, a modern rustic vibe, totally made me want to start my own book club just so I could be the cool person that hosts a gathering here! I came here for a Galentine's Day - Self Love Birthday gathering that was situated in the back room. It's a small room to the back left of the place where 12 people can sit at the three tables and there's a love seat and two chairs with a table accommodating 16 people and a couple more for standing room. We ordered three appetizers at the bar (see my pictures) and everyone ordered a mocktail. They brought the food over to our area but didn't ask who ordered the food or where to put it, they just kind placed it down and walked away. Appetizers were about $8, I was told the Buffalo Chicken Wing dip was not that good but I didn't try it. I ate the Mezza plate and appreciated it, would order again. I think this is a cute date night visit or a bring your bestie and chill kind of place. I'll definitely come back again with a friend to hang out, chat a bit and check out some books!

I looked over their menu and at first glance decided that I couldn't possibly allow myself anything on it. All these cakes, chocolates, ice cream (they use Sweet Jenny's from Williamsville) -- no way would they be good for me! I already engulfed like a pound of Thai food for God's sake! Low and behold, my eye spots the word "healthy" on their menu. Eureka! Dare I read closer? "Supernatural Brownie." Is it supernatural because it's healthy? That must be it! Made with something like 87% Dark Chocolate (with healthy antioxidants), this brownie must be the healthiest dessert in all of mankind. I must order it! So I did, along with a cup of coffee (it was the only truck serving warm coffee). Verdict? Each bite was indeed a supernatural explosion of sweet flavors, dopamine and euphoria flooding my brain. I gave a friend a bite and she was equally amazed and commented that "she could taste the butter." Wait. Hold on. This isn't healthy, is it? Damn. I thought..maybe it was? Well, it is. It's healthy for the soul. That's it. Yes. 5 stars for the dessert. 3 stars for the coffee. I'd love to see some Stumptown or artisan-roasted coffee brewed here with a lot of love. My sons enjoyed them, but I wouldn't buy them again. I had a grasshopper pie. $4.75 seemed like a much more reasonable price relative to the cookies, but the pie itself was very bland. I could taste the barest hint of mint, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the filling was. It had a very empty, artificial quality to it. My sons finished it, and enjoyed it. Maybe it was an off day since all my friends seem to love them, but I was not impressed.

It was a hard decision for both of us, but we were happy with our choices. The toppings were perfect and the soft serve was creamy. The staff here are wonderful, I feel so welcomed when I walk in and I think I've gotten to know them pretty well. My go-to's are the Cookies & Cream mini cheesecake, Mud Pie mini cheesecake, and their Chocolate Chip Pie slice! If you're a red velvet cake-lover like I am, stop by around February for their Red Velvet mini cheesecake! Their scones are soft and muffin-like (they call their scones "scuffins") and if you're there on a Saturday morning, get one of their cinnamon rolls as it's coming out the oven - It's phenomenal! Looking at Taste of Buffalo 2026's socials, I saw Genevieve's was there and introduced a new cheesecake flavor: Strawberry Crunch! I usually don't go to Taste of Buffalo so I was really glad to see Genevieve's was continuing to sell it in their shop. I picked up a Strawberry Crunch mini cheesecake as well as an old favorite, their Mud Pie mini cheesecake for weekend of indulgent treats. I've swooned on about their Mud Pie flavor so I'll skip that and go straight to my Strawberry Crunch mini cheesecake review - In short, I REALLY enjoyed this! The graham cracker crust pairs nicely with the vanilla cheesecake and those creamy strawberry crumbly-bits. This encapsulated the flavor and texture of that classic ice cream novelty nicely! The mini cheesecakes are dense, a nice treat you can share (or not, I don't share mine :) ). I'm glad to see that their pricing has remained incredibly reasonable as well.
