Unassumingly amazing. Looks like a hole-in-the wall, but the food is ridiculously awesome. We had the Mel (seafood risotto) and the Kevin Costner (meatball sandwich in a fried tortilla). So, it's 3 stars for a few things. But first the good! Friendly attentive staff, good service, food was good. Now, for the missing 2 stars. Menu says "Pad Thai"....flavors were on point, but...it was spaghetti noodles, that was odd. And not a good quality noodle, just your average spaghetti pasta. Seriously, if you want to use spaghetti noodles, Costco has a great organic imported from Italy pasta. Go on a Costco run. One of my besties is from Thailand and a chef...even she was confused about the Pad Thai, showed her pictures. Also, It's definitely over priced. My spaghetti ala Pad Thai should not have a nearly 40.00 price tag on it. Lunch was over a hundreds bucks including tip (have to tip well, people are trying to make a living). Was the food good, yes. Missed out on the Thai noodles, bummed because it's my favorite part of Pad Thai. We left with mixed feelings. And no Pad Thia noodles, lol!! read more

I ordered the smack and cheese from Split Social Kitchen for the first time and it was amazing! I had them add fried chicken to it and added Chic-Fil-A's honey roasted bbq sauce and it was so yummy! Pretzel with poblano cheese sauce appetizer was great. Beer was cold. Fancy friggin tacos were terrible. They were very bland. My husband had the ahi and I had the beef tip tacos. Neither tasted like they had any seasoning at all on the meat. The beef tips were very underdone as well. Ahi was mushy. Everyone else at our table enjoyed their food. Don't get the tacos! Service was good but I was kind of surprised that the waitress didn't ask why I only ate one of the three tacos on my plate and did not want a box to take the rest home. read more

This place is AMAZING!! We traveled to Springfield on business and wanted to find a place for lunch. Yelp reviews were amazing so we headed that way. We split the truffle burger and nachos. We also sat right in front of the chefs and were able to see so many entrees leave the kitchen. Honestly, each one looked like a masterpiece. You can tell they were each a labor of love. Driving through Springfield last night and found this place on yelp. Had to try it out and it did not disappoint. We got the mushroom burger which was huge and wow!!! It was delicious. The Parmesan fries were pretty amazing too. But to top it off, the service was fantastic. Every employee spoke to us and couldn't have been nicer. Our darling server was always smiling and so genuine. The restaurant is in a small strip but don't let that deter you from a cool place with great food! Will be back if ever driving through Springfield. read more

This place is so good that we went back the next day for brunch! The house made pickles served with their version of a Cuban were amazing. My hubby got the "Kevin Costner"-wow. Just wow. After spending 4 hours at Verizon trying to get new phones we were so hungry. Decided to pop in and see if we could get a table here. Luckily we got the last open table. The menu is so unique and I cannot wait to go back to try other things. Their old fashion was supper yummy probably my favorite I've had in Springfield. We couldn't decide between items and our server was super helpful. We got the ladykiller with was a glorified burger. Very well balanced. It was served with tater tots that were the best tots I've eaten at a restaurant. We also had the Phil and Bev which was a beef pot pie served with balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts. The pot pie had super flaky crust and the filling was seasoned well. I would have licked the plate where the Brussel sprouts were but I didn't want to be weird! Seriously my favorite place to eat right now. Not only do they serve some of my favorite foods, they also serve some of my favorite drinks. In Springfield it is hard to find a restaurant or bar to go to for one specific thing. Because seriously what is Springfield known for? well believe it or not if you want the best mussels at least in the midwest this place has it. The charm and quaintness of this restaurant are exactly what my wife and I always look for. the muscles are not only a can't miss, they have an excellent selection of spirits wine and beer. The owners take great care in owning the front of house because that is where they come from. They also did a fantastic job in their chef selection. Execute very simple but elegant ingredients and present them in a way it makes you feel like you can go in in gym shorts and a t-shirt and be comfortable. This is also a place where you can go in formal dress and be comfortable. If you want different yet appealing to all kind of dishes this is the place. Also note it's a Super casual, small joint. No need to get dressed up. After eating here 2 nights in a row - YES 2 nights in a row, I completely understand where the name originates - my pants about to Split open bc I could NOT stop eating. I was visiting my old stomping ground and had this new restaurant recommended to me and am so happy it happened. Split Social Kitchen is amazeballs! I seriously had to go back to try more off the menu bc I couldn't have it all just in one night. This menu offers absolutely something for everyone and for this 'particular' eater my favorites floored even me. So my first freakish thing about myself is that I hate cheese (yes, I know) BUT Split's Smack & Cheese has to import this stuff from the moon itself. It is incredible. I tried it night one and ordered a side the second night. Bury me in this .... seriously. I also tried the Nonni - yummy in my tummy. The risotto was cooked perfectly and the tuna was surprisingly fresh. My third grab was the avo-ca-toast and thank you Split for being accommodating and making me this dish for dinner. It was incredible. Impossible for me to pick a favorite from what I ate. Along with the incredible food I do have to compliment the staff.
