Have been to Split Rock Resort on several occasions as a vendor with a microbrewery during the annual Beer Festival. Must say its a nice place, but I am not overly impressed: - They charge a $1 fee to get into the resort. Why this cannot be absorbed into the hotel / event fee is beyond my comprehension apparently. - Each year the number of microbrewery vendors decreases while the number of food, clothing, and cigars vendors increases. People pay good money to attend a 'beer festival' and not a flea market or street fair as this is what this event is turning into. Also, they treat the vendors very poorly and do not give them enough money for the beer or even enough glasses for the microbrewery staff to drink their own beer. - Not sure why the pool and hot tub area closes at 10PM when there isnt really much else to do when the sun goes down and its cold outside. - When you are in the restroom doing a #2, the cleaning staff come around and spray noxious chemicals over the stalls in an attempt to suffocate one I think. Would presume dead rotting bodies may smell more than what is normally produced. - Morning coffee for hotel guests is not refilled and they provide only Styrofoam cups which cause cancer. Most resort places which appear as nice as Split Rock Resort tend to use paper cups or even provide ceramic. - Food is very expensive and not impressive (ie, they use liquid eggs instead of making them from scratch with real eggs from a local farm). They know you dont want to pay another 1$ toll on their roads to go to the nearby Wawa. For the above reasons, they only get 3 stars. Its a nice resort and I usually stay there for free, however, I would not plan a vacation or trip where I am spending money to go there. Would rather go skiing and stay at a local bed and breakfast. read more

my family and I came here this past weekend 1/14-1/16 for a mini getaway. Since my son loves hotels and the field of being on "vacation" , we had the worst experience ever. Upon arrival we went to check in and they gave us a room in a totally different building that we have to drive to meaning if we would of had to use the pool we would of had to drive with all our winter gear on . Once we got to the room We try to open the door and the key isn't working this happened 3 times we had to get out of the parking lot drive to the main resort in the 5 degree icy weather finally we complained and they gave us a room in the main resort . Now this is where the problems start... we get a room where from night until the morning all we smell is weed and cigeratte smoke mind you it's a non smoking rooms and me and my 5 year old suffer from asthma it Was disgusting . Then the rooms and construction is so cheaply made everything was broken in the room.while I was in the shower, the glass door came off the track and the whole door fell on my leg and I have minor aches and pains . Overall this was the worst experience and we will not be coming here ever again. Staff was nice but getting in touch with front desk was almost impossible, I doubt we will be staying in this resort again. read more

We chose this location to stay as there was an indoor water park mentioned. We are glad we chose it as our 16 month old had lots of fun in the water park. But i must warn on the food they serve there. Food is terrible and awful. We went to have breakfast and the plates were unclean. I got a waffle for my son and started feeding him. Towards the end i saw a long hair in the waffle. I was so upset that i gave my baby the food with somebody's hair in it. I spoke to the manager and she said that we do not have to pay the bill. But thats not what we were looking for. We paid for it even though we did not eat after that. Then we went to the cofee shop and got some Blueberry muffins. We opened and saw that it was already spoiled. I could see fungus inside. I was so upset that i did not care to go back and complain. But now i feel i should had clicked some pictures of it to post it. Then we went outside to DUnkin Donuts to get our breakfast. We did not eat anything from there till we left. So if you are planning to stay there please carry your food or go outside to eat. Never ever Eat the Food served there. read more

Nice getaway resort. Stayed in the town house slope side 6th floor . Beautiful room suite with kitchen. Separate living room. Everything is in and near the town center. Arcade room, bowling , tennis , basketball indoors . We went over to bowling it had no wait , later on we went back it was a waitlist. They never told us earlier to sign up for a time when I asked they said no . Food places inside. Did buffet one night and one breakfast . If you check out before 9am they gave us $5 breakfast buffet. The food otherwise is expensive at the resort . At night it is hard to see the roads and signs . During the day they have outdoor sports, mini golf , archey , tennis , basketball, volleyball , shuffle board. We had to drive over to the area. There also is a lake and kayaking . It was fun but it was an extra cost. We also did the water park , they charge extra for it . The water park is for kids . 2 adults slide but not worth it just for adults . Some activities you have to sign up for in advance. There is not much around the area. 5 mins away is a gas station wawa and cvs. read more

Amazing water park! Small, but good for my son who is almost one year old. The wave pool is great, waves aren't too strong. We enjoyed the water slides and the tipping bucket was pretty cool too! Full service bar and snack shop serving some great snacks! Reasonably priced. Free parking, great place to go! read more

DON'T STAY HERE!!! We walked in and waited to check at the front desk for 20 minutes. Then we find out that their website was wrong saying that the indoor water park would be open the following day from 10-6 when really it was from 12-6. We had to check out of our room at 11, so what were we supposed to do, stand out in the 30 degree weather in our bathing suits for an hour?! We left immediately and went to Kalahari a few miles away and had an AWESOME time. Definitely suggest going to Kalahari or Camelback. For the owner of this dump; you need to step up your game. There's a lot of competition in the Poconos for indoor water park resorts, and you guys are losing badly. You should send people to places like Kalahari and Camelback to see why they are so much better. You guys should at least get rid of the $1 toll when coming in. What that even for??? read more

We went as a group with other family where the primary focus was h20 for our young ones. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The cost of the park wasn't included in our room like other water park resorts. Upon check in I requested a crib which was never provided yet we sure did receive a phone call asking us to do a time share tour. Now to the water park. Not worth the money at all. It was dimly lit. The park itself didn't look clean. It's understandable that over time resorts show where but the concrete floor had spots of what looked like mold and he smallest children's splash area was what you would see at a good children's park. There was no dress code I saw people there in underwear. It bathing suits just plain underwear. There was absolutely no follow up from front desk either. Do yourself a favor and check out kalahari instead. Water attraction is 3xs size and is cleaner well lit and there is a focus kn read more

I brought a groupon for this place, ski and stay package. The rooms are definitely dated and on the budget side, but what do you expect for that price. It was clean and a place to pass out after skiing (or falling) all day. The rooms do come with a mini kitchen - so bring your own food / snacks/ wine if you can to save $$$. The restaurant is buffet style and can be pricey (70 for dinner for 4 of us) and maybe only 10-15 chafing dishes - nothing amazing here folks, average food at best. Tons of activities for the kids - including a reasonably sized arcade and indoor bowling. Oh, there's also a weird thing with the elevators - it's one elevator from floors 1-2, another one in a different hallway for floors 2-5 (this one looks like it was an old freight elevator from a horror movie), and another one in a different hallway takes you from 5-6. It's like they built the resort piece by piece and some parts are updated and some aren't. Long story short: I wouldn't come here on a couples getaway, but it's not bad for a place to bring the kids. 2 1/2 stars if I could. However I think I'll definitely try Camelback next time. read more

Water park is pretty good for being all indoors. Good food and great staff members. Lots of different things to do here for a weekend trip maybe not for a whole week though unless you want to repeat. Everything seems well maintained and clean. Good family atmosphere. read more

I got a group on deal. the pictures showed a nice jetted tub, amazing water park, nice views, nice rooms (the rooms looked clean in the pictures). We decided to stay here for one night since Kalahari resort was booked for the night we wanted. When we came here first thing they did was charge us twice for the room. The room was AWFUL and DISGUSTING! I did not want to unpack my luggage because it felt so filthy. I didn't even want to sleep on the bed because I thought they had bed bugs. The bathroom smelled like urine! It was a horrible night. They also said they offered a free movie in the theater and in the group on offer it said $50 towards arcade. The movie was ok but the theater was old and gross popcorn all over the place And the seats were like rocks. The popcorn tasted like burnt and metal. Oh and the arcade, yea it was horrible! They didn't give us the credits! We also went to the pizzeria and the pizza came back burnt! Group on also offered breakfast with the stay. The breakfast tasted like cardboard. The water park was not included with our stay despite group on stating it was, we ended up paying $70 for 3 small slides and a wave pool that had no waves and it was max of 4ft. I personally have very sensitive eyes and skin and the water park burnt my eyes so bad I had to get an emergency eyewash and I never even came close to putting my face near the water! They didn't offer you towels at the waterpark even though we were guests. The jacuzzi was nice but everything else was HORRIBLE! they refunded us our money for double charging us, took them a couple days to do it. So I suggest don't come here expecting a nice stay. read more

I come here every year for the Pennsylvania Wine festival that takes place during June. The festival itself is a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it. However, as for the resort itself, it's very run down and the prices they charge for a room during peak season is ridiculous. It's over $300 a night and the rooms look like a truck stop motel. The restaurant and bar is completely outdated also. The resort offers a lot of fun things to do with the family, but I wouldn't waste money staying at the hotel. There are several motel type places down the street that charge about 75% less a night. read more

Went to the indoor water park for the day. Food wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either. Next time I go, I would try and bring my own food. The water park itself was really nice, but not big enough to stay the entire day. read more

Weekend stay. To sum it up they nickel and dime you to death. The cost of what you pay does not equal the quality of lodges or rooms. The place is dated and needs upgrades. Some of the staff in particular the water park staff (working the front desk) have a little bit of an attitude. Toll? What's up with the toll? Albeit $1 but why? The indoor water park is OK but the cost for a child $30 is a bit high. read more

I had my sons 7th birthday party here at the h20 waterpark. When I first booked the party Miriam Ray the party/event planner told me everything was going to be ok and that there would be employees helping to assist with the party. Well that was a lie. My husband and I got there early to make sure everything was ok. And to also pay our remaining balance to due changing guest from observers to swimmers. I was under the expression for 1002.00 that there would be nice balloons (not cheaply blown up that didn't even last 2 hours before deflation) nice plates, cups, table cloths at least plastics ones. No there was nothing. Just black plates some plastic spoons and forks. Not to mention some family squeezed their own non booked party right next to us. After they were told to move their non booked party Miriam assured me that she would have them take their party down. If I would have known that I could do the same I would have definitely done it that way. Their party was never taken down. Miriam was never seen after that. The surfing, pink slide and the hot tube for( mermaids only ) were all not working. Good luck finding a mermaid to use the hot tube. Life guards were checking their cell phones. Life guards had sock and sandals on. That is reassuring are they going to jump in and safe a guest with socks on or let them go under a bit while they are taken their socks off. Waited at the bar for 45 mins until the bar tender came back for god knows where after she posted a sign that says be back in 10 mins. On the bright side there was a employee named Mike, who tried his best to make the experience better. I truly believe maybe he should be promoted to management since his customer service skills where 20x better then the real management. To much competition in the area to be having negative reviews. Before booking a event here do your research with the other indoor water parks first or hey just walk through the front doors with your party stuff they won't stop you or even notice. read more

My family and I also booked a getaway with Split Rock as part of a promotion we received. This place will NOT be recommended by us to visit. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean but there's not much else to speak highly of. There was a long line to check-in, even though there was 3 people at the front desk. In addition to our room; rooms for many other guests weren't ready either. Everyone is forced to wait around for a phone call (for an unspecified amount of time) and when the room is ready; you have to go back on that same long line with anyone who hasn't done the check in process. The "check-in" building is where the water park is located, and the bowling alley and the gift shop and pretty much anything else for some sort of entertainment. If you're not in that building, you're pretty much left with nothing to do but watch tv (most of the channels in our room were grainy). No one was ever at the front desk, but there is a phone to call the main building with any questions. Split Rock may be open all year 'round but it's definitely not an all-season resort. There should be activities available in each building to accommodate all sorts of weather conditions and temperatures. read more

I rate Split Rock Resort very low, because it was not what they advertised it to be. No TV internet (NO Wi Fi). One night didn't have any water. My family made our reservation a year in advance, yet my family suites were ready, but mine suite was not, and when the suit was available they place me far from the rest of my family. We I asked them to move me closer to my family that stated it was complicated. What so complicated about moving me to another suite, after all I paid enough money for it. Nothing to do during the week, elevators were shaking when riding from one floor to another. Movie theater was not working, because they could not find the remote. They should have cancelled our stay until all the renovations were done. If any one want to stay at the Split Rock Resort, I will suggest that you find another place to stay, because the pictures that they show is not what it is, because I just stayed there, but I will never stay there again! And I want my $300.00 back onto my credit card. read more

If you are a miserable person... Stay home!!! If you are miserable at home you will be miserable here. IF YOU LOVE PLENTY OF FUN ACTIVITIES, COME HERE!!! ALL ON PREMISES: FREE THINGS to do included in hotel stay: indoor/outdoor pools, miniature golf, archery, hiking, biking, basketball, tennis, a lake with a private beach, turtle races, live entertainment( a magician, comic and live bands were there when we stayed)games and activity sheet for each day, plus more... PAY THINGS to do and not too costly: indoor waterpark, bingo, bowling, arcade, movie theatre, restarants, bars with live entertainment, ice cream shop, pizza shop, big souvenir shop, pedal boats, canoes, boat rides, float rides and more.. Golfing range is so amazing. May book again as a Father's Day gift. The place is clean and nice.. Not super fancy but I can see why... Some patrons are disgusting. People think that they are entitled and drop food on the floor, leave towels on floor, not clean their tables in the waterpark. Stuff up the toilets.. Teach you children, parents!!!! You show a bad example and look like pigs to the rest of us who love having a great time. All and all, it is a fabulous time where you can't have a bad day. I saw complaints of the indoor waterpark.. The people who work never stop working. They are always cleaning up, lifeguards are busy watching their space... Kids all are smiling and laughing. No one has a sad face or mad face. Coming down the tubes... All smiles and laughter. I was sitting with my hubby and watched as people would leave their used towels on the floor.. Leave their finished food on tables, drop food and trash on the floor and never even think to pick it up. A worker would rush to clean up so the next family could enjoy a clean spot. I could see how overwhelming it is because of disgusting people with no manners. Shame on them. Now... This place is a timeshare. You are not approached when checking in. There is a person to the side of checkout at an information booth if you want to hear about a tour. Sometimes it's an hour tour of the place. We were offered $200 in split rock cash to do the tour. We declined with no pressure. The lady gave us information on all activities and things to do on our trip. Make sure if you want to do outdoor activities like mini golf or archery to go to the game hut near mini golf to put your name in to reserve all your activities. Families will love this place. We had teenagers and small kids with us. I loved staying in the hotel galleria because many activities right there and walking distance or a shuttle bus to other places. All of us had a fantastic time!!! read more

My stay at Split Rock was not A+ quality, but the memories made definitely were! The rooms are a decent size and pretty clean. The lobby of my stay (Willowbrook 4) is pretty sketchy. It was noisy across the halls but thats not anyones fault at Split Rock. In the main building, where much of my time was spent, the options were endless. However, they could cut some of their "extras", like the psychic in the lobby. No one wants to hear about bad fortune on their vacation! A person I was with watched her tell a woman that the man she was with was not going to be around much longer. When I saw her later on, with her boyfriend, she looked so sad! The food is pretty good. The pizza was decent and the fries were amazing. No complaints there. The only activity I did was the waterpark/pool. The waterpark was very humid so it was relaxing getting in the water. The lifeguards are a little too drill sergeant for my liking. The pool was nice too, yet again, no complaints there. The arcade and bowling alley is pretty dated but I didn't do anything there but look. The crowd there is a little sketchy. Watching a couple vape right above their children is a little discomforting. And screaming kids are everywhere, and I wish the employees got more involved in that. I had no real issues with the place, I had a lot of fun, and I'm not saying it's perfect, but you can make a lot of it! read more

We stayed here because it was part of our timeshare. Took forever to check in. The rooms were very out dated, dusty, dirty. The other bedroom blew a light bulb and took a day for maintenance to come and change it. The smell of chlorine lingered throughout the resort. Bingo was fun. They said you can get WiFi in the rooms and lounge, but it was scarce and you are lucky if it worked. The Waterpark was good, lines were short. read more

My kids enjoyed this property when they were younger so we decided to do a few days this summer. Sadly disappointed. Yes they redid the lobby and the carpet in the halls. But the rooms are in poor shape. And the cleaning people don't really clean. The showers still had hair from previous people and the floors and walls were filthy. We only spent two nights so I did not complain for fear of cleaning people retaliation. My stove only worked on one side and the smell when lit was questionable. Drove and saw Camelback which includes Waterpark in hotel stay. Next trip will be there. read more

My review may not be very reliable because I went to Split Rock as a teacher on a class trip, so my expenses were covered. However, it is true that Split Rock tries to take every dime from you. There is a $1 toll to get into the Split Rock area. A DOLLAR. We have to stop the bus to pay a DOLLAR. That just seemed silly. The place was actually pretty nice so I'm assuming they already did renovations. Lunch was catered but it was literally a salad and pizza - nothing more. Not even fries. Then the kids went to the water park which does smell strongly of chlorine but the water slides, surfing simulation, and hot tub were a lot of fun. But yes it is way overpriced and you could pay the same amount to go to Six Flags with someone. The lockers are also $6-$8 and they are not even that big. However the scenic area outside is lovely and it was fun playing volleyball in the "fake sand." One of my students purchased a frozen Snicker bar thinking it was ice cream (because it was under the ice cream section) but it was indeed, a Snicker bar that was in the freezer. $2. Go here if someone is paying for it. read more

We stayed here the 1st week of August, 2015. The disappointment began at the front gate, when the security guard told us that there was a $1 charge for entry. Even with a week long townhouse reservation, they collect $1 every time you enter the front gate. That pretty much set the tone for the entire week. The main Hotel is called the GALLERIA. The common areas are seriously dated and antiquated. We're glad that we stayed in the WILLOWBROOK Timeshare Townhouses. GALLERIA Amenities: The 8 lane bowling alley is a joke and very dated. The movie theater is small and does not show first run films. They hold BINGO games as a source of raising money. All of the collected monies are not returned as prizes. Most monies are skimmed as profits for the company like on a cruise ship. We stayed in the WILLOWBROOK timeshare accommodations. The unit was in need of some minor maintenance and remodeling. The kitchen had minimal cooking supplies. No cookie sheets. The furnishings are like my grandparents house. You can exchange towels daily in the 1st floor housekeeping closet. The toilet in our unit clogged every time a solid was flushed. We had to have maintenance snaked it, to clear the sludge out of the pipes to stop the back ups. The unit had a damaged lockset on the bathroom pocket door to the master bedroom door, that prevented it from completely closing. A few of the light bulbs were burned out. How hard is it for housekeeping to check all of the lights when they turn over a unit? PROS: Close to lots of off site activities, Lehigh Valley and coal mining history. 90 minutes to Philadelphia and tons of American History. 45 minutes to the Camel Beach Waterpark (at Camelback Resort) - AWESOME and FUN ! Free WIFI - not silicon valley fast, but functional and free. Walmart is only 15 miles away with a complete grocery, beer and wine. Large jacuzzi tub in bathroom (cheezy ceramic tile surround). Kitchen, so you can cook you own meals, keep wine & beer chilled and ice cream at the ready. Microwave for popcorn and snacks. Outdoor bbq's require briquets (no propane bbq's). 5 miles form the Jack Frost Ski Resort (when in season) CONS: The main hotel is in need of serious updating and remodeling. The common areas and hallways smelled like a couch in a fraternity house. The carpets needs to be shampooed to rid them of the odors. The hide-a-bed is TERRIBLE. The springs push up through the flimsy and thin mattress. Housekeeping is provided ONCE PER WEEK - AT AN ADDITIONAL COST. No business center, fax machine or computer printer available for use. On-site indoor waterpark is for young children and pre-teens only. Teenagers and adults will get tired of it very quickly. Lack of housekeeping services in townhouses, means that toilet paper and paper towels run out quickly. No change of bed sheets or linens. That's one thing that I look forward to when on vacation - fresh towels daily and crisp sheets every few days. Units can use more and brighter lighting - I know about energy costs, but they are dimly lit. No LARGE flat screen TV in living room. No hardwired GB ethernet outlets. No phone in the bedroom (we faintly heard it ring from the next room) Resort directional signs, building signs and addresses are not reflective and difficult to see at night. Management needs to get their act together, properly train the staff, and to begin remodeling the hotel and accommodations. OVERALL IMPRESSION - Adequate, but not up to the standards of our home Marriott Timeshare. read more

After complaints were sent to Manager he did respond quickly and offered us 20% discount, I still wonder if they will ever change anything.

I don't think you could find any more accommodating staff. Across all levels. Natalie as a housekeeper was friendly and took great pride in her work Carol at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure you were taken care of in a speedy and competent manner and Steve the shuttle driver was more than that. He took special time educating us on the resort amenities as well as assisting with his duties as a driver. I've had a great time it's certainly family friendly and the prices are fair as well. read more

My husband and I went to Split Rock Resort a couple of weeks ago for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We r Shore people and wanted to try something different. We were met at the desk by Lisa. Very run down and dated. Claustrophobic hallways and poor layout. Very strange smells in every hallway. Looks like they spent any money they made on the water park and lobby. Worst most ghetto place in the Poconos. Thank goodness my family only stayed one night in this hole. Stayed at the Galleria (main lodge) in the Slope Side Suites. I found this hotel through groupon at a great price for a weekend getaway. At first, I was kind of hesitant because the resort seemed more geared towards kids than 21 year olds. However, this resort had something for all ages and we ended up having a lot of fun. Like all the other comments suggest... the resort is very outdated. From the decor, the dishwasher, to the televisions and arcade, this resort seems like it's stuck in the 80's. That aside, what we loved was that there was so much to do we didn't leave the resort the first day. The amenities aren't great --- this place is no Ritz or Hilton but for the price and the friendly people, it was very worth it. Additionally, we got hotel credit with our groupon and put that towards dinner at the Slopeside grill. Great lobster mac! read more

Total rip off!Been coming here and the water park for the last couple years always a good time for the kids. Not very big but just enough. This year seeing as my kids are 15 and 12 I would not be going in the water with them. They charge $16 dollars for just being a spectator. So my husband and I have to pay $32 dollar just to sit there- what a joke!!! I ask can they go in themselves my daughter is almost 16 No! You have to be 17!So my husband leaves and I stay and wait! I think $16 to sit and watch is a rip off! I get they need to be supervised but I could use $32 dollars for lunch! I won't be eating lunch anywhere at this resort as I won't give them anymore money!I'm not cheap by any means but they should rethink their spectator fee! I've spent so much of my money here already don't they like return business!!! read more

This resort is expensive, out dated and did I mention expensive. The only nice feature is the indoor water park, but it is expensive. If you have an infant and you are just there to watch the infant, not partake in the amusement, you will pay a hefty fee to sweat and cry due to the chlorine in the air. I won't go back. read more

Terrible customer service from the start. My reservation did not appear from the first moment of attempting to check in. Had to wait for a fax to come through confirming my reservation. I had in total waited about 35 min to only check in. I was not offered an apology for my wait time nor were they friend at the front. I figured this place may have at least had decent rooms. The hallways have no AC so as you walk, you are melting. The buildings are decided awkwardly and makes for a difficult time finding your room. The room...oh wow. My jaw dropped. This has probably not been updated in centuries. Horrible furniture, artwork, awful colors. It's a shame we paid what we did to stay in a place like this. Wish we would have known sooner how awful it really was. Please don't waste your time. Happy Birthday to me in a hot, ugly room with bad service. read more

The water park gets 4 stars. The resort destroys that because the staff hates the mismanagement and it shows. They know their food is aweful and expensive. They take advantage of the fact that it's hard to go off property (especially in bad weather) $50 for 2 adults - no charge for the 6 year old who hardly ate her plate of spaghetti. In the words of Gordon Ramsey: dog food, pig slop, worse.... Way Worse than the worst hospital food! The huge pool is managed by one individual who seems to be the only person who knows what is going on. Most staff people have given up and just don't bother to try. The problem is exacerbated by construction to try to improve the outdated resort. But even after spending close to 500,000 (guessing), it still won't change the poor food and poor decision management. Come to water park for the day. But stay somewhere else. If you want waterpark, save some money and go to twilight for 4 hours. read more

3/2016. We have been a timeshare owner at Split Rock for 15 years. Never have we seen such obnoxious, rude, blatantly destructive patrons as we did this visit. Apparently the establishment decided to sell groupons to people who would normally not be able to afford a vacation here. We saw kids keying the wallpaper, throwing themselves and lots of bowling balls down the bowling lanes until they broke and dropping trash in the hallways. Security had to be called due to an argument in the arcade. It is our annual timeshare fees that end up paying for this very poor management decision. None of this was the fault of the staff who continued through this fiasco to be attentive, respectful, and professional despite being overwhelmed. read more

My husband and I reserved this resort via Interval International in February 2021. We planned the vacation for his birthday and our 31st anniversary. We were very excited for this time since COVID kept us at home for over a year. We chose Willowbrook at Lake Harmony. We checked in on July 25. The first problem started when we were changed from Willowbrook to the Galleria Town Center without being consulted. We were then charged $150 for resort fees. Honestly I still cannot tell what the resort fees are for. The hot tub does not work. No one answers any extensions in this resort. You have to physically walk down to the front desk with any complaints or requests. The fee was not mentioned anywhere in our reservation. No house keeping services are performed. Nothing that substantiate charging this fee. To make matters worse, the refrigerator door in our room was not closing. We spoke to the front desk and a maintenance personnel later came. He stated we have to lift the door and slam it shut. He stated he would work on getting us a different refrigerator but he could not promise when. The next day we noticed the food we placed in the freezer was not freezing and lifting to close the refrigerator door was not working so we had to place our heavy bowling bag against the door to keep it closed. My husband went back to the front desk. Another maintenance man came and checked it out and agreed we needEd another refrigerator because the temperature in the freezer was not optimal for preserving our food. He came back later with an old refrigerator. It was evident he cleaned the refrigerator before he brought it to the room but it was still musty from it being in storage for a long time with the door closed. We accepted it because at least it was working and we wouldn't loose our food. The problems did not stop there. We did not have enough towels and wash cloths for 2 people. No silverware or utensils. No blankets for the bed. No iron or ironing board. Later that night after check- in and some complaints we finally got the things we requested. The towels that were sent you can tell they were new and never washed because the little white furs were all over our bodies after we used them. On a positive note, we had new stove, microwave and dishwasher because we could still see the tapes and ties inside. The sofas in the living room appear new but they are very uncomfortable. They each have pull out twin beds so I believe that's why they are designed with a straight back and is very hard and rough. I am so disappointed and will never return and I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in. My husband's birthday and our anniversary would be ruined if it was not for all the other activities we planned outside of this resort. read more

Had a nice midweek stay. Good time to go if you are skiing. No one on the slopes.

The pools are nasty, the rooms are tiny, there's nothing to do, the whole place smells like ass, the silverware is always dirty

We've been coming to the split rock for over 15 years...every year seems to be more of a disappointment than the last. This place seems like its stuck in the 1940s. Everything here is outdated, except for the lovely new game room that has mostly prize games (there are 3 nonprize games). On a positive note this place is definietly THE EASIEST place to get into and out of the raceway, so it earns a star. read more
