My wife and I stayed at the Galleria over the Fourth of July holiday this year for my nephews wedding the day after. I booked a two bedroom suite in early May, so I could drive my parents stay in the unused room, and save them some money. First the good. The room was clean in appearance. It had a full, functional kitchen. The staff seemed courteous. Now for the bad. I happened to be on crutches during the visit. The property is not extremely handicapped friendly. The main parking lot is up a large flight of wooden steps. A secondary lot is level with the property, but is a good distance away from the main lobby and elevator. Fortunately, as far as access goes, our suite was directly across from the elevator (more on this). The room had a mildew smell to it when we arrived. The furniture was adequate, but the rooms were dated. The "master" bedroom had all of the charm of a 1970's Econolodge. A queen size in a very small room, complete with a lighted 70's mirrored headboard, and a window (the only window) to the hallway, near the elevator. The master bath was the size of one over stuff sofa, yes that is including the sink, toilet, and shower. I stayed a major chains hotel on the trip up and the bathroom was four times as large. The toilet, an old pre-1980's type with a five gallon tank, ran constantly. I had to turn the water off the first night, it was so loud. The air conditioner was so loud it was impossible to sleep with it on (the temperatures did reach the 90's some days, and there are no windows to the outside). It sounded like a jet engine turning up. Not kidding, as I worked with jets during my Navy career on flight decks. I believe the mildew smell came from inadequate condensation drainage. My parent's room sported two twin beds. Their bathroom was also small, but their major complaint was low water pressure and a slow drain in the shower, that would start to fill when used. The bedrooms had older CRT TV's, the living room had a 32" flat panel TV. The elevator, which provided easy access, also provided a chat room for people waiting on the elevator. Noise could easily be transmitted via the convenient window in the master bedroom. There were plenty of kids running in the hallways, presumably to get to the indoor water park and pool. I slept on the living room sofa 2 of the 3 nights of our stay. You must pay a dollar each time you enter the property, which is necessary unless you want to dine at the pricey eating establishments on the property. We chose not to, but some family members that came also came for the wedding, were not impressed with the cuisine. I would recommend bringing your own food or going out. Most of the larger, recognizable restaurants are miles away from Split Rock. Also, in keeping with the 70's theme, local calls are $.50. Due to lack of windows you may have to go to the lobby to get a cell phone signal. WiFi was however available. Summary: Not what I expected for the premium price the resort charged. They have newer accommodations, but not in a two bedroom suite. Better, and less expensive to enjoy the Pocono's from a chain hotel with adjoining rooms. read more

Hotel is VERY outdated! Pool disgusting, they don't clean at all. Dont use pool, who knows what you can catch.. Staff is mostly friendly and has to work with what they got. Unless serious renovation occurs, DONT GO! read more

Where to start.. We went to Split Rock a few years back when my in-laws gave us a gift certificate. We booked at the lodge..the kids enjoyed the turtle races and the waterpark but our hotel room was shabby. We had no plans to return. This Christmas we received ANOTHER gift certificate to the place. UGH! Hoping to have a better room, we booked at the Galleria, which is attached to to water park and entertainment facilities. We stayed Saturday and Sunday night at the slopeside villa and paid $740..for the two nights and waterpark. There is nothing upscale about the building, cement walls and windows..no balconies. When you enter the hallway you notice the grey line down the center of the hall, clearly a carpet that needed to be replaced 10 years ago. The decor is dated, the facilities worn. Our room had a double bed with a sagging mattress, a pull out sofa and a kitchenette with half fridge, oven and dishwasher. The view was of the service rode behind the main building and the roof of the main building. The carpet was stained, the furniture nicked and scratched and it smelled musty. The price to stay in this filthy room was outrageous. I have stayed in a $75 a night LaQuinta and it was ten times nicer (and cleaner) AND we got breakfast. The best part of the resort was the waterpark. The kids enjoyed it but it's small. Even the most enthusiastic water park kid will probably get bored in 3-4 hours. Then you are left with bowling (at $7/person per game) or the arcade or the movie (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was showing). After seeing the deplorable conditions of the room, we decided to eat off property to avoid food poisoning. Here is a neat trick, they charge you $1 to get back into the resort. We checked out at 7:15 in the morning, we couldn't wait to get out of there even though we still had tickets for the waterpark. I feel sorry for the suckers that bought into timeshares for this dump. read more

Well let me just say the good - staff were friendly and kids enjoyed the activities Bad- if you like feeling like you are back in the 80's... my mom's room in the other part of the Galeria well her stove was probably from the 50's. Our first room smelled like burning glue so they did switch us but this all happened at night. Thought since it was such an old room that was a normal smell. When my throat started to hurt I called the front desk and they moved me without the need to push. New room smelled better. They really need to renovate the rooms !!! Also talking to other guests staying on the slope side they got relocated because they had roaches. Ewww I would have been gone. If they would renovate the rooms I would be back. We did get compensated for our move- free water park tickets (we had to ask for compensation ). Anita at the front desk was awesome. read more

I gave my Son and his family a mini vacation this past weekend. I will never recommend this place! They checked in late Thursday afternoon. The employees are rude and uncaring. Friday morning the real trouble began. Apparently they were ha big issues with their water. My Son went to get a shower and. The water was like dirty sewage water. Not just in the bathroom but every room. The Hotel NEVER notified anyone!! My Son went to the main desk and the woman at the desk told him there is nothing wrong with their water. Thank God I live close the the hotel as they had to come here to get showers. They returned Friday evening to find 6 small bottles of water at their door and a note saying sorry for the inconvenience. They woke up Saturday morning to find the water problem was the same They checked out and spent the rest of the weekend with me!! Since they returned home they are all having gastro issues, hmm what a coincidence! DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT STAY THERE. read more

First I want to say that the resort itself was very clean and the employees were very very nice and very very helpful. However, I was very disappointed that their summer season hadn't started yet. We were there on June 12 + 13 and the food court closed at 6 p.m. which meant you couldn't get any sandwiches or ice cream or anything like that. The restaurant there is, in my opinion, very pricey. Especially if you have a family. The restaurants and the things at the lake were not open. So your only choice really after 6 p.m. was to eat at the very expensive Grill. The water park was not open during the week only on the weekends so we could not use that. The rooms are really showing their age. The microwave and the dishwasher worked but they were very old models. The whole place I think really needs some room refurbishment. I really expected more from a resort and my timeshare. read more

sooooo so so disappointed. we thought we were buying into something great. now I'm embarrassed to have brought people here for a referral. called 6 times to voice the issues we had, finally after the manager that we were promised would call us back went home, without a call, another "manager" told us if we didn't like it we should just go home!! keep in mind we are owners at this property. we made a huge mistake, don't follow our lead. read more

Really bad resort! I had to wait 25 minutes in line to check-in. They put us in a sub building that must have been built in the late 60s. The room had a slight odor and a 70s brick decor. There was no stand for the luggage and one of the plugs didn't work. The bathroom was old and the carpets were beat. On top of all this, they charged a $21 resort fee. Do not go there! read more

We are currently checked in. We waited over an hour past check in time to get our room. The lobby is hot & muggy & full of people waiting to get their rooms. There are still people that have not gotten their rooms. While waiting to get on the elevator for quite some time, housekeeping tried to jump in line of guests to get on the elevator. The staff has been rude & unhelpful. As timeshare owners, we have now been told that if we do not pay an additional $16/person we basically can't use any of the amenities, but even the pool or beach. This was not stated on any paperwork anywhere that we received or when we checked in. Just ordered a drink from the bar in the lobby & there was a bug in it. This resort needs a serious upgrade in appearance & staff. I'm appalled that interval would even have this resort as an option to trade in to. read more

I wouldn't recommend this to my enemy. Check-In - Polite, friendly courteous. House Keeping - vacuumed the floor, left closet with vacuum open.. turned the heat from 70 to an AC of 60 while I was out. AND left all the fans on. Talking about not being able to get comfortable right away. Garbage was left in the trash bins, my tooth brush that was neatly over hanging on the sink was faced on it's brissles on the bathtubs surround(dirty). The resort is out dated - I can deal with that..... However they don't care about their property. I stayed in the newer part of the resort and the molding around outside doors was rotting on many rooms exteriors. Galleria Dining - Nice, friendly - again atmosphere from the 50's or 60's?? salad bar was sad, prices were too high on some of their more expensive items. Italian Dining - Table teetered so bad we asked to be sat somewhere else. Waitress took 10-15 minutes to come over and greet us. Both ordered steak.. Waitress offered A-1, it didn't come nor did she show up again till time for bill. Steak was more like leather. Left a message for manager, 3 days later, no call back. Wanted to state the above as well as compliment the busgirls who had more personality and were more polite and kind than the waitress. This place lacks management, and is set up for failure. read more

My experience is a bit different than some of the reviews as I stayed as a time share owner in the Willowbrook area. Our rooms were very bright, clean, and cozy. They included a kitchen, a queen sized bedroom each with a pull- out sofa, balcony, and jacuzzi tub. We had no issues with our room other than the toilet clogging, but maintenance was very quick to come and fix it. The Galleria, or main building is very dated, I agree, but I cannot speak to the rooms. There is an indoor pool, which was not heated (though the room it is in is heated) and hot tub area for adults. Both areas were always too crowded for our comfort, so we did not utilize those amenities. The Galleria is the main "hub" for entertainment and dining. This includes a bowling alley, arcade, sports areas, and gym. The arcade is basic, but still managed to entertain a 6 and 8 year old for an hour. Bowling is a nice touch, but they only had 3 domestic beers available. They also sponsor group games and my partner and I decided to engage in Adult Jeopardy, which we thought would be fun to meet other couples. Unfortunately this was a family game and our team included some children that were around 12 or younger. Very disappointing and frustrating as the recreation guy did not have correct answers to many questions. But, in playing with some children, we learned that the water park was not worth the cost- they informed us that the chlorine odor was too strong for them to stay more than 30 minutes. We ate at both the buffet dining area and pizza shop in the Galleria. The buffet area was expensive for what was included, which was 3-4 main dishes and a salad bar (iceburg lettuce only). But accommodated our group (including visitors) of 13 nicely. The pizza shop was ok (would rather order take out at a local pizzeria) and took almost 45 minutes for a cheese pizza. Again, as other reviews have stated, AT&T is a complete dead zone in the Galleria and the WIFI is awful. Verizon was fine in the building. We had no problems with either service outside of the building or in Willowbrook. The grounds were not well kept in the winter. It snowed during our stay and not a single plow came through the area to clear the main road. The signs for the various villages (including Willowbrook) were not lit, so if you were checking in at 5pm in the winter, you may have a hard time navigating from the Galleria. It looks like this place has a lot more going on in the summer- basketball courts, tennis courts, softball fields, etc. and reminded us a bit of "Dirty Dancing". However, in the winter, I think this is simply a convenient place to stay while skiing. read more

This is our 2nd time here the rooms are out dated smell like smoke. The hallway smelled like vomit the whole time we were here. This place does offer lits to do, but for cost of the rooms I think it'd be better to just rent one of the homes around here. read more

I stayed here for a weekend in 2012 for a Girl Scout trip. I've never been to Great Wolf Lodge, so I have nothing to compare it to. There were awesome things about it, of course. When we first got there, we were treated with lunch, then we spent three hours in their indoor waterpark. Of course, the water park rocked. From what I remember, there were one gigantic slide (which you could see from the outside of the building, two huge slides (you could also see these from outside of the building), some smaller slides, a portion for little kids, and a wave pool. Then they had an ice cream social for us, which once again rocked, because how could ice cream be bad? They had vanilla and chocolate ice cream for us, and the toppings included hot fudge, caramel, and sprinkles. Later, we went to the arcade/bowling alley, which I guess also rocked. The arcade was awesome because there was skee-ball, the Big Bass Wheel, and all the regular arcade games, and there was even a prize booth. I got a water snake, a pinpoint impression, a rubber duck, and a plush lion cub that I still have to this day. Now, my stay here wasn't all ice cream and water slides and arcade games. The problem was our room itself. The good part was that my brother and I got a room with separate beds all to ourselves, and my parents got their own bed and room, which was great. But the not-so-good part was that our room was like a sauna. It was so hot in there! There was HEAT instead of air conditioning. We were awake until 4:00 a.m. because it was so hot. The best the staff could do was leave our door open in hope of letting air in. My parents asked us if we just wanted to drive home and sleep in until noon, but we said no. Did I mention that the rooms are pretty old? When we got up the next morning, we were treated to a breakfast buffet with potatoes and eggs and stuff. I don't even remember what it was like. We then went to the gift shop and I got a light blue sweatshirt that said "Split Rock Resort" before starting to drive home. I'm pretty sure Great Wolf Lodge is way better. At least we're going to Hershey Park next year. read more

I paid a special rate a total of $369 for a fall festival weekend. Drove 90 minutes to get there. There 5 vendors, there were no craft vendors, the band was OK but too loud for the indoor room. There were 4 games for kids outside, and horse rides. Not a festival! I feel completely mislead. Especially because I could have gotten a MUCH better rate with a military discount. When I asked to speak to a manager, I waited almost 10 minutes, and nobody came to talk to me, even though I could hear people talking and laughing behind the check-in desk. As soon as I left, someone called me. When I called them back they told me it was not their fault and argued with me, The food was mediocre at best. Brown water came out of the jets of the tub. Ive stayed in this resort before and had a good time, the pool and waterpark are nice. But because I feel like I've been taken advantage of I will not being staying here again. I would give a -star rating if I could. read more

Had a wonderful time here! The grounds were beautiful and expansive. They didn't try to pack everything so tightly together that you're on top of one another. There were so many things to do indoors and out. Everyone can find something to enjoy here. Great family place. It is an older resort and some things are outdated, but that just adds to the charm. One more thing, the staff were wonderful. Can't wait to go back! read more

I give Split Rock Resort 1 Star!! I came to Split Rock today with my two girls hoping to have a fun two days at the Waterpark. We paid through Expedia and it didn't come with Waterpark passes. When I called the hotel earlier they said it was all one place. One would assume , as all the other Waterpark hotels, that it would be part of the package! Usually you get a wristband for your stay. We then went to the Waterpark and the guy at the desk said we had to pay. I told him that we were guests of the hotel. He said the Waterpark was separate and that guests got day passes! I explained the situation and how upset I was with our room being all the way in another building and that we had to drive to get there! He went and got the manager who felt bad for us and gave us free passes that should of been part of the deal to begin with! The service in the restaurant was slow because they were under staffed. Alex our waiter was amazing and super friendly and helpful! The woman waitress on the other hand was a pill! I would never go back! Can't wait to go to Camelback where Corey in reservations got me a Thursday reservation!! Woo Hoo Corey from Camelback in the Poconos read more

So let's be honest- this is not resort luxury at its finest, not even close. But for what it is, it's great, especially for our family. We stayed slope side, and yes, the rooms are outdated to the point of absurdity. It created private jokes for us the entire trip. The $1 to enter is crazy, but the receipt can be credited toward in-resort shopping. The water park is great for younger kids. Our son is 43"- just enough to do every ride, and we spent 4 hours there ( and could've spent more). The mini-golf and bowling were both super fun, and our three-year-old was free for both. The beach is fantastic, and the breakfast buffet allowed my son to eat more bacon than he probably should eat in a year. Low-key family entertainment abounds, and you can have a great time here if you go in with a sense of humor and the right expectations (a groupon doesn't hurt either). read more

One reviewer wrote "Horrible Hotel is too good." in referring to this place which is so true. My wife and our guests vacationed there the end of August. I could write 2 pages single space of how bad this experience was but I'll be brief -- I sent the 2-page writing to Interval International so that they would think twice before sending anyone to Split Rock, Poconos. 2 suites, told that they were IDENTICAL, they were not. Much missing, broken, inoperable (one stove didn't work). Filthy. A coffee maker from Motel Six with a pre-packaged packet to put in it. Oh but wait, coffee grounds were still in both pots. Jacuzzi tub jets went off frequently on their own. The toilet was hooked up to the hot water feed and nearly boiling. You could throw a balled paper towel at the kitchen cabinets and it would stick. Coffee table falling apart. Guests were complaining a lot, especially when we each had to endure 1 hour and 45 minutes in line to get checked in. And the staff complained as much as the guests. The activity center was shabby and run down, items broken or inoperable. And up where the pool table and ping pong is the AC is broken, humid and dirty. Well, that's just a snippet, there's much more. It's just too disturbing to relive it. Paying a RESORT FEE for both suites cost me $300+ and for what? That too was a surprise. Management was absent and we couldn't call for help b/c none of their phones in the 2 suites worked. The surrounding tourist attractions are wonderful but stay away from this resort. Nearby hotels each got between 4 to 4.5 Stars. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. We just got back from a weekend up there for a free referral weekend with our timeshare (we are owners there) and I just feel so dumb for buying in here. Both the timeshare people there who set us up and the resort itself were horrible!!! First, DO NOT, and I repeat Do NOT buy a timeshare from these people, as soon as you give them your money, there is no care or customer service for you. They don't care, they already got what they wanted, they have no use for you. If you want to buy a timeshare great, just don't go for their tour here, you will seriously be disappointed. First there was a water main break so we warned not to drink the water and upon checking in, we were given 4 bottles of water to brush our teeth and drink. (this is not the resorts fault and we were fine with it) what we weren't fine with was that we couldn't get anymore water for the rest of the weekend. There was never anyone at the front desk and there was a sign that said if you needed anything to call an extension, which we did and every time it either just rang or it was busy. We checked in on Friday and were told we were at the Lodge. This place looked like the hotel from the move The Shinning and I can guarantee it hadn't been updated since it was built back in the 40's. We had adjoining rooms and there were old dead bugs in both the bathrooms. The rooms were smelly, damp and musty. There was a hanging gutter in front of our window, dead ant in the bed, no fridge (which sucked horribly because the $50 worth of food and milk we bought spoiled) and when we asked for one, they said they didn't have any, but the room across from ours had one. weird. Our TV was blurry, the one remote in the other room didn't work, and the night of the fireworks, they never blocked the parking lot off for the guests staying there. On top of that we spent $95 for the water park and out of 5 attractions, 2 of them were down and apparently have been down for a long time. This place was just seriously disappointing. As a family who live less than 2 hours away, we would have definitely came up more, but no way will we ever be back. And again, don't buy the timeshare, trust me you will regret it later! read more

Checked in at 11:50 pm on March 15, 2019. Checking out next day at 11am. I'm giving 2 stars for subpar service and rooms. One bathroom toilet was clogged, the showers leaked water from spout while in shower mode. The mattresses need to be replaced, springs are popping out making it uncomfortable. The only possitive is the rooms were clean. I think for 500$ a night it would be a little bit better for a resort. Their cahier at the coffee shop, Amey, had terrible customer service. Looked like he didn't even want to be there. Seemed tired, sluggish. Where is the customer service? We went to H2oooh as it was part of our stay. It was fun however, 2 attractions we're down. The hot tub and the lazy river. The slides we thrilling and my children loved the water jungle gym. Over all had it not been for the water park this would be a 1 star .Customer service should be a priority. Say hello, or a good morning. It goes a long way. read more

I'm going to try hard to find something positive to say first. The managers and front desk employees are nice and apologetic. I have been a Marriott Timeshare owner and Interval Exchange customer for 20 years. This is the worst resort by far. If you are looking for a Marriott equivalent, do not come here. Our "suite" sleeps six, yes, but two main rooms have a king and a queen, so good luck with teenaged boys being forced to sleep together. You can barely turn around in the bathrooms. Outdated, worn, and old, but clean. NOISY on weekend. They don't have enough security staff to deal with drunk loud parents in the common areas. Kids, literally playing football and running down the hallway at 1am. They claim the water park is a great deal at $79 for 4, but you check in Friday night and it is only open weekends in April. When I called, staff lied to me about their hours. It was so crowded on the weekend from the public guests that it did not even seem appealing to go to. There is only one indoor pool next to the water park that is supposed to be for hotel guests only, but it is clearly not "policed" The pool is disgusting by the end of the day with trash everywhere and soaking wet pool towels. Which, by the way, you are only allowed one and they only cover a toddlers' leg. There is one 18 and over hot tub overfilled with 6 year olds. I went in one day and came out covered in a sandy scum that really grossed me out. The resort advertises guest laundry, but you have to drive to a nearby complex for it. The pool cafe and main dining are over priced and mediocre. I'm stuck here all week, but I will never come back. The best part of this place is that you can leave it to go on beautiful area hikes. read more

We were a group of 20 people. We got a twilight pass for $23. We went on a non-crowded day...!!! The only complaint is that i wish there are 2-3 more rides...I understand its hard to add more rides in an indoor space. But felt bored after some time.... read more

The guy who previously said this is where the 1970s went to whither away and die was absolutely correct. Not only is it an out-dated "resort" but they charge you money every time you want to re-enter the place! When we asked the guy at the toll booth if we could redeem the receipts somewhere, he yelled at us and told us not to enter if we didn't like it. We also had to change rooms at midnight due to hearing the people next door to us so loudly, sounded as if they were right in our room with us. One good thing is that the rooms aren't dirty, just ugly. The lake and the surrounding scenery are beautiful, but would highly recommend staying somewhere else, for probably half the price. The water-park was fun, and worth it for the twilight pass ($23 from 4-8 pm), but it's not a place you could spend all day at. read more

Just came back .where there presidents weekend . We have been there before . Pros..alot of things to do for all different ages. That's why we go back .the water park has the flow rider which is good for our older teens .and still has stuff for the younger ones . A lot of activities .never bored Cons..check in and check out (yes you have to wait in line to check out)are very slow and they aren't very friendly . It's also set up weird .we had to take 3 elevators at completely different ends of the resort to go from the 6th floor to the lobby .it took about 10 minutes with the older people. Also many of the events were held right in the lounge in the lobby .it was a very cold weekend and it was freezing there .so to do the bingo or other activities ,you had to leave your coat on.. lines were very long and service was slow .but it was a busy weekend and they were booked . All in all we had a good time , would probably go back again. read more

This property has not been updated since it was built. Staff is not very helpful or accommodating. The water park during week days opened at 4pm and closed at 8pm. Only four hours of swimming and fun. I was also very unhappy with my room. We have our family reunion here every year and there is something for everyone of every age and everyone loves it. Be aware that Split Rock Resort consists of a number of different timeshares as well as a hotel. Willowbrook is the newest and right on the golf course and the one to choose when you are making reservations. I don't like to hear all the complaints like it is too far from the hotel (a good thing) in my opinion. And the shuttle bus is late - we walk or take the car. There are so many activities and so many other attractions in the area from the gigantic Crossings Outlet mall to the Boulder field in the Hickory Run state park and Jim Thorpe. It's a beautiful day trip to hike in the waterfalls of Bushkill falls. And then there is Camelback. And how close a drive it is from NY or NJ or PA. And a lake and boating and indoor and outdoor pools. I could go on. read more

I truly came here hoping to give it 5 stars but I am disappointed. We have 3 small children and was trying to see if this could be a family place in the future. I'm Not sure after my stay. The resort is huge. They have many fun activities daily so that if you prefer to stay on resort you can (we did the Texas Holdem and the guy was awesome) Dont attempt bowling at night, there was a long wait. During the day bowling was empty. Arcade was decent and cheap. Saw night at the museum 3 in the movie theater. Good prices. Ice cream parlor serves breyers and blue bunny ice cream. 2 scoops is $3. Staff- they were all nice. Especially at the movie theater and the Texas Holdem game Restaurants- eh. We didn't eat at them. The one in the main building was 22 a person for a small Buffett. The bell'ago was the Italian restaurant where we were and it was dead. The thirsty moose looked good but we didn't want a bar atmosphere. Lagos was a pizzeria at te main building looked good but we wanted a sit down restaurant. We went to nicks lake house which was a mile off resort around the lake, wouldn't recommend it. Food was decent but they were out of everything and service was incredibly slow! Went to piggys for breakfast and they were overpriced. It did mention that the main building that they were in the process of renovations so hopefully it will look better in the future. The rooms- we stayed at the lakeside lodge and had a beautiful view of the lake. They are outdated rooms but suited our needs. Nice real Christmas trees to greet you. There is nowhere to plug our stuff in and had to unplug other things to charge our phones. TV was a boxed small tv. The mattress was bouncy. Every time I moved my husband would fall into my hole. The hot tub and sauna were good. The indoor pool was warm. It would have been nicer if the attendants would have enforced the no kids in hot tub rule. It was raining and snowing and our room was leaking bad. We went out to the pool and before I left I plugged in my phone but noticed when we got back the wire and phone were wet, then noticed it was all wet along the wall. Immediately called the office and they said they were sending a maintenance man right down... Never came. Eventually we fell asleep waiting for him. This to me is scary because an outlet was getting wet and nobody cared. We had to move all of our stuff, unplug the fridge (which was plugged in there) and pray we didn't get electrocuted. Told the staff upon checkout and they said there was no record we called. That's insane. Why would we not call about something so serious. I specifically said on the phone room 111 at the lodge. Overall the resort was ok. But my families safety was most important and because of that I doubt I'll be back. read more

Great activities and options for families. Out dated but reasonable prices!-even better value with full kitchen in our room!

This hotel is awful. We brought our 3 kids for the water park. Rooms are from 1970 and the walls are paper thin. We could hear kids from a highschool retreat running up and down hallways until 1am. Prank calling our rooms and security did nothing. Throw up was found in the stair well and hallways. I would never ever stay here again and will be happy to spread the word regarding poor quality, poor attention to guests, and lack of care to property. The water park is good for kids 7 and under, older kids will be bored after an hour or two. Thrilled to be checking out. read more

We stayed at the lodge. Horrible, mildew on the wall and was told it was not harmful....any form of mold, mildew is not healthy. We understand they are renovating, but we were not able to shower the entire time due to NO water pressure. & I waited an entire afternoon for a maintenance supervisor that never showed! My family skied and had enjoyed the weekend without me. Not how I planned our trip. Would never stay again! Could not use any amenities just a bed for the night. read more

If anyone doesn't know already, Yelp unilaterally decides what reviews it likes and does not like. So if you don't say what Yelp wants you to say, they will delete your review. Well, I will say it anyway, Split Rock Resort is filthy and needs to be condemned. The water park is ok, but dramatically overcrowded with lifeguards that are younger than the kids that swim there. My experience at the waterpark was that they change rules from day to day, letting little kids go on a ride then deciding they cannot. I found a dirty band aid in the water. The rooms are gross. They needed to be renovated in 1981. The mattresses are sunken in and they clearly are old. The TV is a 1976 tube color TV, and the phone is one that old Bell Atlantic used to sell. The food: well they don't even have chicken fingers for kids. They expect you to have your 2 year old eat at a buffet with steamed mussels and no chicken fingers??? Everyone, save your money and go to Great Wolf. This place is just terrible. We left a day early as well. read more
